I was attempting to park my car at parking spaces inside a garage. The car was about half way into the spot, and I released the accelerator to slow down. Suddenly, while my foot was off the gas, the car accelerated on its own, lurching forward and hitting a barrier, which protected against falling off the side of the garage into the floor below. I took the car to a Tesla service stations and they said that they cannot reproduce the same phenomena, and that the car passed their diagnostic check. Currently, this is the only person to inspect the car. The semi was now coming up quick due to loss of power in my truck. I turned on my hazards by this time he was close and had to make an evasive lane change to avoid running into the back of me. Luckily, there was no on coming traffic. This is not the first incident of my truck losing power and almost being rear-ended. I purchased the truck from a dealer in December of 2022. They have not been of any help, and frankly they are not willing to do a thing to help. I'm at a loss and have no idea what to do. I feel I was sold a truck with a potentially dangerous recall that can cause a major car accident which could result in death. There is no resolve for this recall at this time. Fortunately, I responded defensively and avoided collisions with other vehicles and roadside obstacles. This issue is a safety concern; if it occurs at the wrong moment, a tragedy can be avoided. I've seen more than a hundred complaints from other proprietors and a completed NHTSA investigation. Sequoia models from 2001 and subsequent years were recalled for the same issue. I work inside a chemical plant right next to a highly explosive unit so this could have been catastrophic. Not to mention the people that work there were coming into work as well and could have been pinned between the two vehicles. The plant I work at has thousands of employees. Had I been leaving work and crossing the highway and this occurred I would have been killed and most likely so would have others. I exit my job onto an extremely busy highway. A police report was not filed because it was inside the plant but several people witnessed it. I had to have my vehicle towed as it was too damaged to drive. I have not contacted Honda because I have seen numerous unresolved complaints so I doubt it would help. Prior to this accident I had no problems with the vehicle. They tried so many things…the “remedy” was to not use the dash cam a while to see if it happens again. After a few months, I plugged it back in. Issues returned. Took back to Kia who said they’ll need it to do it again without dash cam in so I unplugged it that night. Issue has returned at least three times since then. I’ve sent video to Kia and i guess I’m still waiting for them to get an extra loaner because they’ll need to keep it…when I went up there a couple weeks ago, I was told they didn’t have any loaners available so they would call me when they did.Read more

The rear motor (drive unit) has gone out on this car twice in the last four years. I purchased it after it was last repaired. It most recently went out on 08/04/2023. When it went out two days ago it had less than 30,000 miles on it. Once regenerative breaking was engaged, the rear drive unit would normal perform that function, but since it was out, it simply knocked the vehicle out of drive and made the transmission flash red. During this part, steering was affected in that the power steering was out, and the ability to move forward was diminished because the vehicle came out of gear. I was able to put my foot briefly on the brake and then tap the car back into drive, but anytime the car slowed down and engaged regenerative braking, this process would repeat. Looking at the forums, this is a known problem. As already stated, this is the second time in less than four years that this motor has needed replacement. Additionally, Tesla is saying that this motor is did not have a warranty on it, despite the fact that it was replaced only a few years ago. In my opinion, this is a clear safety issue. Reviewing the forums, it seems as though this issue is an endemic problem associated with the Tesla Model S from a range of years between 2012-2015. It is more probable than not that the company is aware of this deficit and has chosen to do nothing about it.Read more

After a couple days, and I had not taken the car in yet, Tesla sent me a message and informed "that I am NOT to bring the car in." I have not heard from them since then... and today is 5 August 2023. Entering a tunnel in Boston, I pushed down on the gas pedal and noticed the car was decelerating, I was losing speed, in a panic in the center lane of the tunnel, I was able to get the car over to the far right. The car was shaking aggressively then finally just gave out and I called 911. They towed the vehicle to the police headquarters, I called Hyundai for assistance. Had some hiccups but two days later they were able to service the vehicle, supposedly found a faulty fuel injector. They changed out the 1 faulty injector test drive and said the problem was fixed. I picked up my car on July 28th 2023. There is something still wrong with the car, it still has some hesitation and now misfires. Have not heard from Hyundai, I was assigned a case manager and told someone would follow up, no one has reached out. So lucky my children were not in the car and that i'm safe. Since inception of purchasing the vehicle in January 2019, I have experienced a sudden jolt, banging sound/feeling. In the beginning the issue was subtle. In addition, I have felt a sudden loss of speed. It should be noted I did not seek any service at this time. This prompted me to call mopar to see if my current vin was possibly on that first recall of jeeps however i was advised it was not even though i had experienced the same issues described. Fast forward to as of recently august 2023, I received a recall letter with this current vin and proceeded to the nearest dealership for repair. I was advised the repair was a software update. As I was leaving the dealership after the update, I felt the loss of power, jolt and grinding when turning to backup with the service 4wd illuminated. I reparked and walked back inside the dealership when I was advised the repair was only a software update. In addition, I was advised a diagnostic test could be done for $175. I was advised to wait a couple of key cycles to see if the issues corrects itself. The software update has since not corrected itself and I feel as though I am at risk of an accident. This issue is getting worse with my vehicle and is a safety concern. I feel as though I am being penalized for faulty PTU which is on the manufacturer for costs to assure correction/repairs made. This car has a seat activated power on and off so it comes on when you sit down and shuts off when you get up (which is a stupid idea anyway) but upon exiting the car and even locking it with the FOB, the vehicle would not shut off or reset. Soaked, I got back in and continued down the highway with no defrosters or climate control and arrived at my meeting. I was unable to shut the car off so it ran through my lunch then I made the same journey back home, 100+ miles down the interstate with no speedometer, climate control or defrosters. Once I arrived home, I disconnected the battery which did reset the system and displays. I suppose I better carry tools with me to be able to disconnect the battery on the interstate, next time. This is disgusting to me, that VW would not provide some kind of reset option in a very dangerous situation like this. During my event, I called both their “roadside assistance” and customer service, WITH NO BLUE TOOTH, and neither of them were able to help me in any way, except tell me to pull over and have it towed.Read more

I am writing to express serious concerns about the safety and performance of my Kia vehicle. Over the past few months, my car has been exhibiting abnormal behavior, jeopardizing the safety of myself and other road users. One of the most alarming issues is the unpredictable acceleration and deceleration of my vehicle, especially on the highway. There have been numerous instances where it failed to

Even more troubling, my car has shut off unexpectedly multiple times during both city driving and while navigating driveways and hills. This sudden engine shutdown has exposed me to hazardous situations and increased the risk of accidents. There is also a loud knocking sound coming from the car, accompanied by sluggish driving. To my dismay, the vehicle now starts and immediately cuts off, forcing me to wait for a period of time and multiple attempts to restart the engine before it finally starts. Seeking a resolution, I took my vehicle to the Kia Service center, where they advised me that I needed a new engine, attributing the problem to sludge build-up. However, I maintain a diligent oil change schedule every three months and can provide evidence of this fact. Despite filing a claim with Kia of America, they regrettably denied my request for assistance in obtaining a new engine, placing the financial burden solely on my shoulders. This not only presents a financial hardship for me but also underscores a broader issue with Kia vehicles' quality and reliability. I am deeply concerned about the safety of Kia vehicles, and I believe that they should be subject to a thorough investigation and, if necessary, a recall. I understand that KIA has experienced problems with design of this or similar engines, causing recalls of those products, and I request NHTSA to investigate these concerns regarding the 2016 KIA Forte. Earlier, on the day of the crash, the car had a sudden, strong, yet brief acceleration of the vehicle during normal braking while approaching a rotary, unlike normal ABS. ABS itself seemed unneeded (the approach to the rotary was well within the speed limit, on dry condition roads). This issue occurred twice in the two months prior to the accident. There were no known warning messages in the car or the phone app for the car in any of these cases or at the time of the crash. The manufacturer has been notified of the crash, a product liability case has been opened, and an engineer was sent to look at the car. A data download from the airbag event data recorder (Bosch CDR) was done, a report was generated, and the report was provided to the car owner. No data in the formatted report is provided regarding Vehicle Speed, Accelerator Pedal, Cruise Control Status, Brake Torque, etc. Unformatted hexadecimal data is included in the report, without a data schema to decipher the data. It is not known if any other analysis or information about the car was reported by the engineer, beyond the Bosch CDR report. The owner is not aware that the problem has been reproduced or confirmed by anyone involved, or of any other inspections than the one described here. Manufacturer has not yet provided the owner with a report response. The car is currently at an auto repair shop and no repairs have begun. The shop is awaiting an appraisal by the insurance company before doing the repairs.Read more

There are no engine lights or codes that I can visibly notice but even in sport mode the acceleration of the vehicle is not responsive. This is a KNOWN issue at Hyundai as one local dealership offered me a service visit 6 months out because they are so overbooked with these issues. A quick Google search also brought up numerous owners experiencing similar and and escalated issues to include complete engine failure and vehicle overheating. This vehicle needs to be recalled immediately! I experience this loss of power EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE and I don't feel safe driving my new car anymore. I have several issues. My main concern is when turning on an incline (hill or mountain), my vehicles rpm's rev up and I am unable to stop it for several seconds. Sometimes, it will clunk and the rpms will go back to normal after sever seconds but most times the vehicle just jerks and the rpms come back down. I drive through a street with a 4 way stop very often and the issue happens every time.
