A quick Google search for acura tlx ABS module repair will bring up pages and pages of people complaining about this very same problem yet Acura is not doing anything about it. This problem also affected other models such as the TSX, TL, RL, and the Oddysey. I've taken my vehicle to several mechanics and they all state that this is a very common problem in Honda/Acura. I'm not sure how Honda/Acura can risk the lives of their customers in this way but it is not safe as this vehicle is my daily commuter that I use for my family.Read more

... l ON, accelerate to the desired speed, then MOMENTARILY press the SET button, at which point the vehicle would 'remember' my current speed and maintain this speed indefinitely. Nothing unusual about this, and it's how I've used cruise control in multiple cars over the years. Now, as in a lot of cruise control systems, one may use the SET button to cause the vehicle to accelerate, instead of pressing on the gas pedal. This is also a common way of doing things. One holds down the SET button, the vehicle increases speed, and once the vehicle gets to the desired speed, one releases the button and the current speed is maintained. But not in this Jeep Grand Cherokee. Instead, I found that if I pressed and held down the SET button for a few seconds that the vehicle would CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE long after I had released the SET button. For example: Traveling at 75 mph, I held the SET button for two or three seconds and released it. The vehicle began to accelerate at about two seconds, but continued accelerating for a period of twenty seconds, until I finally stepped on the brake, at which time the vehicle had reached 91 mph. In my run to LA and back, I tested the system several times. In the above example, I used my cell phone to make a video recording of the event. I'm glad to share this with NHTSA staff. My general belief is that this is not a one-off defect. It is the way the system is designed to behave, and it's unsafe. ... equipped with EyeSight Driver Assist Technology and I don't believe that the warning collision activated even as the car plowed towards the wall. The car hit the concrete parking block/wheel stop and then the heavy wire barrier at front the parking spot. The wire barrier sits between the front of the parking spot and parking structure wall (I would guess about a 12 inch gap between wires and wall). The wire barrier probably prevented the car from hitting the wall and causing greater property damage or injury to myself. So far, damage looks cosmetic. The front bumper is scratched (some paint taken off) and scuffed from the wire barrier and the bottom half of my license plate frame broke off. I am feeling rattled and I'm unsure if I have injuries. I intend to contact my dealership and car mechanic for suggestions on next steps and will likely ask them to inspect my car.Read more

A large wrench display appeared on dash at the moment of failure and reoccurs with each failure. Some dash displays zero out and/or disappear. The speedometer drops to zero and fails thereafter to register. Transmission shifting becomes random and sudden or fails entirely. Manuals shifting is sometimes possible and other times not possible. Manual shifting all the way to gear 3, followed by a mild acceleration occasionally causes the speedometer to resume function. Subsequent switching to automatic shift is then possible and automatic shifting functions initially or for varied lengths of time. The technician also identified that a TSB exists for the identified issue. Per technician same issue has been previously serviced by the dealership for other Niro EV customers when under 100K (warranty period). Per the technician, this problem occurred outside of the 100K and would require authorization from KIA corporate. Kia customer service was contacted and was unwilling to resolve the issue. -Yes a test drive was performed with the technician who was knowledgeable about the issue and the TSB who immediately identified the issue as the one identified in TSB-234 and informed that some vehicles in the past have been serviced for the exact same issue but require KIA Motors authorization for service outside of 100K. KIA is unwilling to provide authorization. -No prior warning signs/warning lamps, Issues started happening after 100K. The dealer was notified at the time of service of another recall on the current vehicle. No resolution was provided for the safety issue being experienced.Read more

Car has a ticking sound, car has died on me multiple times. The vehicle has stopped moving regardless of pressing on accelerator and died leaving me stranded, feeling unsafe. I have been driving at 40 mph and then seem to lose power, making it to where can only go 10 to 20 mph or totally dying. I was also having issues with key fobs not working. I had an oil change done and full diagnostic, sent on way without answers. Happened again, electrical issues, fob not working, stalling, start hesitation and dying, no power. I had it towed to different shop and was told had couple of codes showing up even though no check engine light on, they stated a caliper was leaking along with other oil leak and crankshaft sensor needed replaced, which got fixed. The car has 98000 miles on it (around there) and I see safety recall posted. I finance this car and have literally only had it not even 5 months. I do not feel safe driving it. I've been stranded, at times key fobs and locks act up on it still, the ticking is definitely a concern, RPMS off and revs up at times while also lacking pick up and go. I contacted my local Hyundai and they stated no resolution on safety recall yet, can schedule an appointment and pay for diagnostic, which would make my 3rd diagnostic over the last month or so. The 2023 versions over have paid higher markups and have heavier rims due to inequality currently being provided by Toyota on the GR Corollas. We were originally informed that all ducting would be functional only to be missing parts due to shortages and now I am at risk of a flaw in the overheating of our front brakes. When this occurs, it is like the vehicle goes brain dead, the gas pedal can be pushed to any threshold including floored with no change to speed; rpms dont even increase. Vehicle has been through Ford troubleshooting multiple times and at one point early on, had a Ford engineering/ specialist working remotely with the dealership. Findings from this specialist: two upcoming ota updates will be released that will resolve this concern. One of the updates was in regards to the trailer brake module and the other something else as equally ridiculous as not pertaining to my issue. OTA updates came and issue never went away. Years later, multiple appointments with techs saying unable to duplicate. Dealer now saying they have no record of working with a specialist even though I have the service records from them stating this and electronic communications from Ford regarding this. The issue is not resolved and still occurring. Vehicle now out of warranty so likely will never be repaired. Not faithful in thinking NHTSA will care, they didn't care when this vehicle had complete brake failure at 7k miles which was later found to be due to incomplete or bad programming, but maybe this will help others know they are not alone if experiencing this issue.Read more

I purchased my Ram 3500 new, in 2018, at Nucar auto dealership in Tilton, New Hampshire. When I reached approximately 24,000 miles, my "Check ABS" and "Check Traction Control" lights activated on my dashboard and the message console. ... ntermittent at first, but over the next few days became almost constant. The lights/warning would flash, the warning bell would ring, and then shut off for a minute. Over, and over, and over. I brought the truck to the dealer and they ran a diagnostic. They diagnosed the following: C0020-01 - ABS Pump Motor Control-General Electrical failure INTERNAL HCU OR ABS MODULE FAULT. WILL NEED TO REPLACE HCU AND RETEST The truck only had 24k miles on it, but since it was past the 3-year warranty period, they quoted a cost of almost $1,000 to do the repair, not counting the $155 they charged to run the diag. They also stated that the parts were on backorder, and wouldn't be available for some time. Since then, I have driven the truck as little as possible since it is a safety issue. Based on information in online forums, I know that this is a problem in thousands of 2017-2018 Ram 2500&3500 trucks. My next step is to join one of the several existing class-action lawsuits, create a new class-action suit for New Hampshire, or file an individual suit. Will Ram issue a recall for this?Read more

While driving, my car slowed down and wouldn't accelerate pass 35 or 40 mph. I had to turn into a parking lot and restart the car. It drove fine, upon restarting. My OBD reader indicated DTC P200A Intake Manifold Runner. AAA informed me of KIA's notice regarding the same issue. This has happened on 4 occasions over the past weekend.

Read many complaints of the same problems from numerous of people having the exact same problem. Very dangerous when vehicle stops accelerating on a steep pass on hwy with heavy traffic, this was almost an accident report to dispatch but luckily I reacted fast enough to swerve to the side before hitting the vehicle behind me and missing 18 wheeler trying to get to the right shoulder because theirs no space on left just concrete dividers! To close for comfort I can imagine what really can happen to someone that can't react as quickly as I did. He then began telling me this happened to him a few months prior but he didn't mention it because it resolved itself. This was actually the 3rd time it had happened in this car over the last 2 years. I spoke to the chevy dealership about it the first time I experienced this and they advised that it had not been made a safety recall at that time yet, but the technician who helped me said his son experienced the same thing and it was becoming quite common. It still has not been recalled but there is currently a class action lawsuit because of this. I feel this is very dangerous and what I considered to be reliable transportation, is no longer the case for my family after this experience. This needs to be recalled immediately before people lose lives. Especially since the parts were Manufactured incorrectly and Chevrolet had knowledge prior to releasing 2016-2018 vehicles.Read more

When accelerating the car will randomly loose all power from the engine. The electrical systems will stay on but the car RPMs will drop to zero. The accelerator will not provide acceleration when being pressed. The car has to be turned off and then turned back on for power to be restored. The check engine light, the oil light and another warning light will come on.
