While driving, a warning came on my dashboard that I was unfamiliar with as it had never come up before. It informed me my oil pressure was low. I called someone familiar with cars and they told me I may need an oil change. As there were no gas stations near where I exited, I continued to my destination another ten minutes from when the warning came on during which my car began making a rattling/g
... rinding sound. Additionally, my became nearly impossible to accelerate and took about 30 seconds longer than it usually would to reach a specific speed. I parked, and when someone arrived with oil for me, we discovered the oil level was not low based on the dip stick nor was it leaking. This is when we began to suspect that the oil pump had failed. Upon further investigation, this seems to be a common issue with my type of car as there is a current investigation through this organization into 2018 Ford EcoSports and oil pump failure. In order to prevent further damage, I had it towed to my local Ford dealer who inspected my car and informed me my car had experienced catastrophic engine failure and it would cost $7,000 to replace. Hello, I took my Nissan Altima into my local Nissan dealer for a hood latch recall on 11/13/2023. On 11/21/2023 at about 6:40 pm I was driving my car at a speed of maybe 45-50mph and my hood flew open hitting my windshield causing damage to my car, and scaring my son and I. I called the dealer the next morning and spoke to Anthony from the service department regarding this situation, and he stated
... a faulty latch could have been put on my car, causing this to happen. I sent pictures to him via email, and he advised that he would contact the director and call me back with an update. I received a callback within hours advising Nissan would cover the damages but I would need to contact consumer affairs to see which location could do the repairs as they were behind by 8 month at that location in particular and could not provide me with a loaner car. After a week of waiting for an update from a dealer to confirm repairs, I had the car towed to the Thomas Nissan of Joliet on 12/4/2023 as the car would not accelerate anymore due to the hard brake. As of today 12/18/2023 I have spoken to the service manager there and he advised parts came in but they do not have a date for repairs or approval on the acceleration issue and for now will only repair the body. I advised that I am extremely saddened by the way I am being handled after such a traumatic ordeal that could have been deadly or life altering. This recall was supposed to prevent this issue, and it only caused it. This recall hasn't done anything to fix the cars, and neither have three other hood latch recalls for Altima cars. Altima drivers are in danger from hoods that suddenly fly open while driving, and this situation just proves a problem. This vehicle has an automatic transmission. It will not shift out of first gear in the drive setting and the speedometer registers 0 mph when moving in first gear. If I shift to the manual setting, I can shift up. I did not notice if the speedometer registered my speed at that point.

The ABS and Traction control lamp keep flashing on and off intermittently. When those warning lights are not lit up, I can use the truck normally. At the time we were climbing up a grade, so the truck slowed down rapidly. The Semi-Truck behind almost crashed into me as I tried to determine if I had an engine failure, and deciding if I had to pull over. They honked at me repeatedly. I determined that it was not an engine failure and I could increase speed. By then the truck was below 30 mph. I may have caused more catastrophic issues behind me but, I could not see past the 5th truck behind me. My wife was screaming at me to pull over, and was upset that the vehicle was not working. It works, but the brakes are not dependable for ABS, and cruise control is not dependable. I drove the vehicle several times since and the issue keeps occurring. I have not taken it to a dealership, and do not drive the vehicle anymore at this point. The vehicle has not been inspected as that would require driving it to be inspected. The ABS and Traction Control warning lamps started to illuminate around November of 2022. That was the only indication that something was wrong. I was going to take it to the dealership but it is out of warranty. It drives fine otherwise when the lamp is lit, and it does goes on and off with a dinging sound, but I could not tell that anything was not working. It was not until the incident with the cruise control that I realized it impacted the ability for the cruise control, and that it would turn it off when I am using it. It simply loses power and neither the gas nor brake work. It will coast until the wrench (check engine?) symbol comes on and then the gas will function. This week the transmission has started intermittently locking into a specific gear without the ability to shift. It’s now happened 3 times. You cannot reverse or drive, the transmission puts itself in park while the dash still indicates its in drive or reverse. After parking the truck for a couple of hours, I could start and drive as usual. Most importantly, twice Saturday the truck seemed to shift out of gear, so hard my head hit the steering wheel, and lost power going 70mph on I64. On 3/11/2023, I was heading home when my vehicle lost power in the middle of the freeway. Luckily, I was able to safely pull over to the side of the freeway. Since this is a plug-in hybrid, there are two gauges showing how much electric and gas is in the car. When I checked, both showed were empty; however, although I knew that I did not have much electricity in the battery, I had nearly a full
... tank of gas. The vehicle should have had automatically switched over to the gas but did not. After a few minutes of leaving the car off, I was able to restart the vehicle in gas mode and drive home safely. I brought in the vehicle to my local Chevy dealership to have it diagnosed. It was determine that the computer had registerd multiple faults p0030, 31, 54, 135, 403, 405, 443, 458 and 537. They also found TSB 21-NA-116. They had found that the 15 AMP fuse was blown. They had to replace the EGR valve assembly. Total time was 2 weeks to repair as they had to wait for the parts from Chevy. Per WO, parts 12346290 (Coolant) and 12691147 (Valve) were replaced. After replacement, vehicle have been running fine for the past 9 months. Prior to the engine shutting off, there was a message on the screen while driving which says "Propulsion Power is Reduced". The electric gauge was empty but the gas tank show nearly a full tank.Read more

Hyundai roadside assistance refused to tow it to the dealership that I brought from. So, I had to drive it to the next nearby Hyundai dealer service center who is one hour away. There, the technician ran diagnostics for the check engine light and got an error code: P01E0100. He said that Hyundai's website for running error codes is down. He reset the check engine light and no warnings came back upon restarting the car, so he sent me out. Dec 12: While driving in the residential neighborhood near my home, check hybrid system followed by check engine + red battery warnings came on; car sputtered and jerked and lost power; I did the mistake of turning left to try and bring the car back home; car lost power in the middle of the turn. Fortunately, there were no oncoming cars, so I could coast at 2mph and cross the road. This was extremely dangerous. I am concerned on two fronts: 1. The dealership service technician might not be able to get the warnings again, reset the check engine light, and send me back on my way. 2. If this issue occurs while driving in the interstate or while turning left at a busy signal, then this will likely result in an accident. I am concerned for my safety.Read more

The adaptive cruise control, which was used on the trip, had been canceled, and the brakes were used several times after exiting the freeway. There was apparently no warning from the front camera and the collision avoidance system about the tree stump, though the driver had seen it prior to making the turn. The incident happened very quickly, but there was no noticeable red warning flashing on the screen. This time there is only damage to a car fender, and a tree stump. What about next time? Perhaps there is just too much autonomous driving technology and software layered over the basic EV platform. Can’t we just have the choice of a basic EV until these other problems are worked out? All systems failed, including all lights, speedometer, ALL ADAS - this happened in more than one occasion. When I put the car in park it still registered to be in drive mode. I took it to the dealership 3 times and it registered the failures within the computer but not as an incident. I demanded a new vehicle and the dealership charged me more money and created a trade in- when it was a manufacturer issue and not because I didn’t want the car. I only had the vehicle for 3 months 6339 miles on the odometer. I also detected dragging brakes and the smell of burning oil that again, the dealership said wasn’t happening. Fisker's response: The tech has tried to fix the problem twice during two different visits by updating the software version of the car. However, during the test drive he has reproduced the loss of regen and brake failure even after the software upgrade. Separately, while driving to work after the upgrade I have been able to reproduce the problem of false collision and braking. I have informed and updated both the customer care hotline, local Fisker contact, local supervisor and other Fisker team members. ... ime it happened in recent memory there were no cars in front of me for hundreds if not thousands of feet, which is why it's surprising because there has never been an apparent reason for the sudden deceleration. Instinctively, I look in the rear view mirror to see if anyone is behind me because if someone were relatively close behind me such a sudden slow down could, IMO, cause an accident - or at least alarm the other driver enough to slam on their brakes. Having read about phantom braking I believe that Tesla removed the traditional LIDAR (or equivalent) technology used by other car makers for adaptive speed control or a similar feature, and instead relies solely on cameras to make judgements. This decision, IMO, has led to a dangerous weakness in the reliability of Tesla's cruise control.Read more

Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Dealer rep drove my car and mentioned he noticed it tries to accelerate when idle, but without a code he can’t do anything about it. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? A Hyundai dealership inspection was completed. Suggestion I buy a new engine. I declined since the multiple repairs paid for already were supposed to fix the problem, but they didn’t.
