The dealership does not want to honor my extended warranty. The vehicle was purchased new in 2019. Within one year they had to replace half my engine (which they decided to do without warning when I dropped off for an oil change). The vehicle was stolen in 2023 (recovered by me in under 24 hours). Multiple cosmetic issues were repaired by a Ford authorized service team. This issue presented about 1.5 months ago 4+ months after the vehicle was repaired.Read more

Traction Control did not function when needed. I had my breaks and rotors replaced two days prior to the accident, which may have had an impact on the performance of the vehicle. Insurance representatives did look over the vehicle, as it is now in their possession. However, I do not feel as though they took the time to look into my concerns. There was no warnings on the Dash.

Telluride was in snow mode with 4 wheel lock activated due to snow covered roads. I was at a stop light, when light turned green I removed my foot from the break. After research and reading other incidents like mine it appears this is a common issue. Most people stated this was normal to prevent sliding and spinning. If this is a normal feature then KIA needs to revisit this and consider safety. It is not safe to be rolling into an intersection and having no power when pressing the gas. KIA owners should not have to switch drive modes or deactivate a feature to have the ability to advance their vehicle out of an intersection. This feature could result in serious accidents.Read more

... n sub zero temperatures. I called the local GM dealership in my home town to ask if I could drive the SUV and they said I could at less than 35mph. I drove 100 miles to a town where a tow truck was available. I brought the SUV to the GM dealership and they said the issue is ice and condensation in the inner cooler CAC system. They said my SUV wasn't updated for the cold weather package. I was told my engine needed a cold weather package in order to drive it in sub zero temperatures. After reviewing this issue online, I found there was a recall for 2018-2022 1.5L Turbo GMC Terrain vehicles that experience these issues but my VIN number wasn't included in the recall. I called GMC to report the issue with my SUV and after speaking with multiple people was told that it wouldn't be covered under the recall due to the "numerous factors" that determine what VIN numbers fall into a recall. My SUV has the same engine, is the correct year, and has the same engine problem as the GMC Terrains that were included in the recall. I now have to pay out of pocket for repairs and the engine fix of installing a cold weather package that is covered under the recall. I believe the recall needs to be expanded to additional VIN numbers.Read more

I was caught in a snowstorm, driving about 5 MPH. Suddenly, the vehicle swerved to the left and I lost complete control; the brakes locked up. The vehicle spun about 145° degrees before coming to a stop perpendicular to the road; subsequently rear-ended from behind. ... d ONLY because there was no oncoming traffic. My biggest concern is why the safety systems failed to intervene. During the incident, the ABS did NOTHING. Traction Control, NOTHING. NO warning lights came on. It’s mind blowing that the car skidded about 145° degrees without any intervention from the ABS and Traction Control systems. With modern 4-channel ABS and advanced Traction Control (Vehicle Dynamic Control) safety systems, the car should have attempted to correct itself. Because I was at a standstill, I was braking the entire time; I didn’t jam the brakes or steer the vehicle. To make matters worse, the car was in Snow Mode AWD. One hypothesis is a glitch where Vehicle Dynamic Control won’t operate in snow mode to give maximum engine performance. But at the cost of reduced safety and traction. Or perhaps the safety systems are not working as intended. The emergency brake malfunction light occasionally comes on when idling and several malfunction messages once during a long trip. However, these were sporadic and did not appear before this incident. Moreover, the maintenance person at my apartment recently experienced the same issue. While on the road with his new 2021 Nissan Rogue, his car spun out of control FOUR TIMES. He's driven in the snow in other vehicles without a problem, and will NEVER drive the Rogue in snow again. Because this vehicle failed in a critical safety scenario, I’m requesting Nissan carefully inspect the safety systems, including the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Vehicle Dynamic Control free of charge. VCFRONT a191 Electrical system power reduced vehicle shutting down, VCFRONT 192 Electrical System is unable to support all features switching off features to conserve energy, BMSa 059 Vehicle May not restart, BMS a170 acceleration and top speed reduced, HVP w028 Vehicle May not restart. There was no visible damage to the outside or undercarriage of the car. At the dealership when I had the car towed there I was specifically asked if I had washed the car or gotten it wet, which I had not. It has been a week and I have not had a response from Tesla as to the cause of this terrifying event. I have only been told that it has been escalated to the “higher ups” and they are still diagnosing the problem and will not tell me what defect they have found in the car or any date as to when they might have answers. The life and safety of myself and my child were put in danger due to this total shut down of my car on the freeway. Thankfully I was able to safely navigate to the side of the freeway at reduced speed but I do not want this to happen to anyone else. On 12-20-23, Foreign Performance wrote: "Vehicle is driving normally at this time. Checked for any set faults, none stored. Tested the function of the accelerator pedal and the throttle body. Both function normally. There are no bulletin issues by the manufacturer for this problem related to this vehicle. Called the dealership to ask what they are doing to fix this problem with uncontrolled acceleration. They claim to never heard of such a problem and that they no longer work on these vehicles. The problem is well documented nationally and has existed since the vehicle was first produced. Bottom line is that the manufacturer and dealerships have washed their hands on the vehicle. The only advise to give would be to replace the accelerator pedal assembly, the throttle body and the engine control module all together and then program the engine control module to the highest level that is available. Vehicle should not be driven by the customer." Foreign Performance said they would not guarantee my vehicle would never do this again after their recommended repairs of $4027.91. It was Christmas, I was leaving on a planned vacation for two weeks and it was complicated so the vehicle is still at Foreign Performance and no work has been done so all components are available for inspection. No warning lights. Police and State Farm insurance have been involved. Needs body work as well after MVA--estimate of $1100 per state farm.Read more

While driving the vehicle in Converse TX around August 1st, 2023, I noticed the speedometer locking at a higher than average speed for the area I was in, like it would go into cruise control automatically, without my consent. I then hit the brake to slow it down, but the speedometer locked again and would read what I believed to be 5mph over the speed limit, but I could hear the engine revving and feel myself speeding up. I parked the car and pulled the majority of the fuse panel after this event, barely used it, reset the firmware version on the head unit and do not have this issue today. I reported this to Nissan twice in person, once on the phone and twice in writing. Nissan refuses to look into it until I pay for them to plug up their equipment to determine what happened and that there is nothing wrong since there is not yet a recall leading to my event.Read more

... a formal complaint which Ford is not owning the problem completely. The truck has 53,000 miles on it with perfect maintenance records. Safety issue is that the truck downshifts at highway speed. Rev's and jumps in parking lots which could cause an accident or worse...strike a pedestrian. The truck lags from a stop which could be dangerous when pulling into traffic. This is a documented issue with Ford vehicles, mostly in the 3.5 eco-boost 10 speed trucks but I believe in possibly some of their others. From day 1 of ownership I noticed something odd which I made it known to the dealership when it went in for service on several occasions. The dealer could never duplicate the issue. In November 2023 the issue got very bad with all that was mentioned in the opening sentence. The dealership had confirmed that there are issues with this truck/transmission and they have a service bulletin on the issues. There are multiple Ford forums online with people who all have the same issue with this truck/transmission. There haven't been any warning lamps to indicate but as mentioned this has been a problem since the purchase and now although it's marginally drivable, the issue has become significant and dangerous. The date below was from the time I have an email documenting the issue to the dealership. As mentioned, it was an ongoing issue to lesser degree but the larger failure started in Mid November 2023. * My driving side front wheel climbed a small bump with a rock. I put my car on reverse and pressed the accelerator. The car first refused to reverse then went completely out of control. The engine produced a huge revving noise and the car accelerated, taking the car backward at high speed. I had no control. The car went off the road, climbed a hill at a 45 degree incline on one side of the road.
... It continued up the hill at high speed until it hit a tree. The impact caused about 1 foot of the passenger side to be a mangled mass of steel from the rear fender to the front passenger door. The gas tank was exposed but intact. *There were no injuries because I was the only occupant and the driver's side was unaffected. If there were persons in the passenger rear seat, there would have been serious injury. *The damage was obvious (I have photographs) and was witnessed by two onlookers and the tow-truck driver. The insurance company (AAA) declared the car totalled and settled. They did not want to examine the car for defects. * There were no warning signs during the year it was driven by me. Prior to the accident I had noticed the car shifting to the left and dramatically declining acceleration and a loud pop by the front driver tire. That is the best way to describe what the car does. So on the day of the incident I believe the car did what I just explained and it caused me to hydroplane and I'm in fear it is going to happen again. I have taken it to another shop after the accident because my vehicle would not start and a different shop said they heard the noise but could not figure out what it was. Your body tenses up just to control the steering. We took it to the dealer for the steering recall but I don't think this is the issue. It is something more serious.
