Upon restarting, the dashboard warnings repeated the same process. At first opportunity, I took the car to a Honda dealership where code DTC P0304 was diagnosed and I was advised that the problem was failure of my fuel injectors. Repairs were made at a cost of more than $2000. Fortunately, this failure did not happen to me on a crowded freeway going at higher speeds as it could have easily created a situation where property damage, injuries, or fatalities could have occurred.Read more

The contact stated that she then attempted to drive into a tree to stop the vehicle, but a high curb caused the contact to miss the tree, and the vehicle crashed into an unoccupied vehicle that was parked behind the tree. The vehicle then stopped. The unoccupied vehicle then hit another vehicle, which caused a train of reaction that involved 6 unoccupied vehicles. The contact stated that the air bags did not deploy. The contact stated that an unknown rear tire blew out, and the vehicle was severely damaged. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The insurance company then towed the vehicle to another lot, where it was totaled. There was no police report filed. The contact sustained pain in the right SI joint and on the right leg. The contact stated that the incident might have intensified her pre-existing neck injury. The contact also sustained mental and emotional trauma. The issue concerns my 2023 Telluride SX X-line (AWD) when driving in the "snow mode" setting. The issue has occurred on several occasions, approximately 2-3 times last winter when I was driving the vehicle and at least one time this winter when my wife was driving in snowy conditions. The issue is that the vehicle accelerator basically becomes unresponsive when driving in snow mode under a set of
... conditions that are not easily defined. The issue seems to occur fairly randomly. When this issue has occurred, the vehicle either will not accelerate at all when the accelerator is depressed or the power will severely be limited and the vehicle will slow down if moving. This has happened to me in parking lots (thankfully) but did happen to my wife on the road, which could cause a huge safety risk when trying to maneuver with traffic or making a left turn against oncoming traffic. The ways in which I have found to resolve the issue are to either switch the drive mode to another setting using the selector or turning the vehicle off and on again. Shifting from park back to drive does not resolve if snow mode remains engaged. I have not taken the vehicle to a dealership to look into this issue as I have found information on forums that have indicated Kia dealerships do not acknowledge the issue. It is also not easily reproducible. There are no warning indicators on the instrument cluster to notify the driver that anything is wrong. As I said before, the issue arose immediately after the purchase of the vehicle in Dec. 2022 and within the first few thousand miles of the vehicle life. Also, true Michelin snow tires have been equipped on the vehicle when this issue has occurred. I switch between all season tires and the snow tires in between the summer and winter months.Read more

The problem persisted for the entire driving session; however, after turning off the car and turning it back on, the problem has not reproduced. A passenger recorded a video of the issue occurring, and the dealer reviewed the video and confirmed that it is definitely a safety hazard, but since the issue was not reproducible, they stated they could not take any action based on Kia's service policies. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has been inspected by a Kia dealer, but not by any other parties. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Before this problem occurred, the engine Auto-Stop icon appeared amber - which means engine Auto-Stop vehicle conditions were not met so the engine wouldn't automatically shut off at stoplights. On [XXX], I was traveling from Georgia to California in a 2024 Ford Maverick XLT 2.5L Hybrid with approximately 219 miles on the odometer, using cruise control set at 73 mph and in the ECO mode. I'd stopped for gas and upon returning to the highway [XXX]) the vehicle, still using cruise and in ECO mode, experienced an extreme reduction in power and the check engine light illuminated. ... ver to the shoulder and shut down the engine; restarted the engine and tried to resume driving while changing to normal mode and not using cruise control. The check engine lights was still illuminated and the vehicle would not accelerate and could only travel at about 30 mph. Pulled off the highway at the next exit and had the vehicle towed to a Ford dealership in Birmingham AL. At the dealership, I informed the service advisor about the check engine light and that the Ford app indicated a problem with the high voltage battery coolant pump. During the initial troubleshoot, the mechanic relayed to me the following three potential faults: the high voltage battery cooling pump, a pump in the transmission, and a fault with the battery electronic control module (BECM). The two pumps were replaced and the BECM fault cleared, see attached service invoice. I picked up the vehicle on [XXX] and drove back to Georgia without issue. The odometer currently indicates 869 miles with no issues. Since the vehicle had limited power and was unable to accelerate, especially on an interstate, I consider this type of failure a safety issue. In September of this year, I would get a random code thrown by the computer, usually telling me that the sway bar disconnected required service, but sometimes it was also the 4wd system. These codes would reset themselves within a few minutes, but I still took it to a dealership for a checkup. The dealership told me that since it currently was not throwing any codes there wasn't really anything
... they could do. The problem continued to worsen over the next few months. The codes thrown become more varied. I took the vehicle to the dealership two more times and again, no solution was found. Sometimes in the morning when I would go to start the vehicle, it would start, but would not allow the shifter to move, saying that service was required. I took it to the dealerhip again, and no solution could be found. Then the worse started happening. The computer would start throwing several codes at the same time, and then enter a reboot cycle, as I was driving down the freeway. During the reboot cycle, power to the accelerator and power steering would flap on and off, and my ability to steer the vehicle would alternate between powered and unpowered within seconds, leading to a very dangerous situation. The accelerator was the same, disabling my ability to respond to the conditions on the road. I escalated to Jeep's corporate system and left my Jeep at the dealership for two weeks. They were eventually able to identify the CAN BUS as the problem and replace it. I was informed that this was a common problem in Jeep Chrysler vehicles. SInce the replacement of the CAN BUS, I have not experienced any further incidents.Read more

The dealer seemingly fixed this problem with a reset process described in a TSB. In the most recent incident, the display never came back online, and I was unable to safely continue driving. There are also random issues with this display locking into "night" mode during the day, usually after backing out of a dark garage or going through a tunnel, which leaves the display impossible to read in bright sun. The only fix when this happens is to pull over, turn the car off, wait 5 minutes, and resume driving.Read more

1. Under certain circumstances, the vehicle is able to decelerate using its regenerative braking system without illuminating the brake lights. This occurs during "one pedal driving" where the operator is driving only using the throttle to both accelerate and decelerate the car, without the input of mechanical brakes. This is a programming issue, not a mechanical issue. The brake lights are "trigg
... ered" when the car decelerates at a threshold of -0.1G or greater. At anything less than -0.1G, the lights will not turn on. This drastically increases the risk of a rear-end collision. 2. Under the right conditions the operator could decelerate from a speed of 45 mph to 5 mph without the brake lights ever coming on, not until they reach a near-complete-stop. This poses a high risk to all drivers that are behind the vehicle, and fails to give warning to other drivers. It should never be possible for this to occur. 3. This problem has been in discussion on Tesla owner's forums; specifically "Tesla Motors Club". (see attached posts) Tesla has the highest accident rate, and no one has yet figured out why. A typical internal combustion vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission coast-down decelerates at an average rate of -0.02G. The Tesla's regen brake light turn-on threshold of -0.1G is 5X more than the deceleration of a typical coasting ICE car (-0.02G) . For slow-downs between -0.02G and -0.1G, where the Tesla's deceleration exceeds an ICE car by up to 5X, there is no warning to other drivers, as the brake lights will not turn on. Any braking force above -0.02G of deceleration exceeds that of an ICE car, and should be made-known via the brake-lights. I hope that this is not overlooked; it is extremely important for this to be addressed to reduce rear-end collisions involving EV's. 99%+ of vehicles in the USA are ICE, and do not coast-down at a rate of -0.1G. The brake lights must indicate this above-normal reduction in speed.Read more
