The breaks didn't stopped the car and didn't cancel the accelaration. It traveled out of control less than 150 feet before it crashed to a large tree. For some "unknown" reason, the footage of the 4 cameras got erased from my usb memory stick. The only video left was the front camera and that video was cut a couple of seconds before the first crash. Wild Honda charged me $4,956.36 for repairs, which did not resolve any issues. I wrote to Alex Reed of Wilde Honda regarding these issues. Mr. Reed assured me that the underlying problem was resolved by replacing a fuel injector, and I was charged an additional $350.00. On [XXX], I again experienced the same dangerous issue where all the lights came on. Once again, I found myself on the highway, unable to accelerate and faced with a dangerous situation. I have made repeated demands to Lithia to reimburse me for the repairs charged to me, as well as for the fair market value of my vehicle as it can no longer be operated safely. Lithia d/b/a Wilde Honda has made no efforts to resolve this situation and disclaims all responsibility. After researching this issue, I discovered that In October 2018, American Honda notified dealerships that vehicles equipped with a 1 1.5L turbo direct-injection engine “may experience engine oil dilution” and that this “may result in increased oil level and can cause a [cylinder] misfire” and cause a variety of symptoms including a check light indicator due to an engine misfire, a low oil pressure light, and abnormal engine noises. In fact, American Honda reached out and requested that dealerships contact them if the dealerships came across similar issues that plagued my vehicle as American Honda was trying to determine the underlying issue. I was two miles away and drove directly to them. They took the vehicle for several hours. I was told it was the alternator because my lights have been going dim and very bright. The mechanic performed a quick inspection and used a GM scan tool to diagnose the issue, revealing the code P1E00 for the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module 2, which was cleared without a thorough investigation. I was advised to return if the issue reoccurred. Despite the reset, the problem persisted, and on February 9th, 2024, I scheduled another appointment due to my Chevy Volt's High Voltage battery charging only to 65% capacity despite indicating a full charge. However, upon arriving for the appointment at 4:00 PM, I was informed that the hybrid mechanic had left for the day, and I was asked to return on another day. Subsequently, on February 11th, 2024, the check engine light illuminated again, and on February 12th, 2024, while driving to work, I experienced a loss of propulsion power on the highway, placing my safety at risk. These ongoing issues with propulsion power and the high-voltage battery charging system are not only inconvenient but also potentially dangerous. Despite multiple visits to the dealership and attempts to diagnose and resolve the problem, it persists, indicating a systemic issue that requires immediate attention. I urge the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to investigate this matter thoroughly to ensure the safety of Chevy Volt drivers and passengers. Speaking with Ford Customer Care confirmed this to be the case that my specific car was not included in the recall. I was able to order the replacement part myself and perform the repair. Even though the recall "fix" didn't work, FCA said that the proper fix wasn't covered, because the vehicle isn't under warranty. Holding my foot hard on the brake, I shifted into reverse, then backed the truck up about 2 feet from the pilon, turned off the vehicle and went outside to assess the damage. There was front end passenger side damage to the vehicle and the pilon casing was ripped and the top was pushed halfway off. Thank God that pilon was there to stop the vehicle and avoid hitting the building or pedestrians. At the time I was parking I am sure I was driving less than 5 mph, but I am unsure how fast the vehicle got to in that 15-20 foot acceleration. When the vehicle hit the pilon it was very jarring. The impact threw my glasses off my face, flung my backpack from the passenger seat to the front passenger floor, and caused my cases of soda pop and bags of groceries in the trunk area to shift forward and to rip the paper grocery bags. My right thumb and the right side of my neck were sore that evening and I had a minor headache as well. This Ford Expedition Max has approximately 35K miles on it. It is a well maintained company fleet vehicle. There were no warning lights prior. After the lights came on, the steering was brought back to normal along with the acceleration and my brakes. After the MIL displayed, steering resumed enough to pull into a parking spot. All of this occurred within 80ft from the apex of the corner to where the truck finally locked up. Total distance traveled 195 ft from start of turn to parked. The steering column and wheel completely locked up once in parking spot. I weigh about 230 lb and I could literally hang off the wheel without the wheel moving an inch.. At home, the power to the truck did not turn off like it normally would after 30 secs. The manual neutral transmission switch was pulled, which normally does not interfere with shutdown. After disengaging the truck powered off. However, I was unable to restart and only a clicking noise was heard. A battery booster jumpstarted successfully. No MIL on dash on startup. Surprisingly, the steering came back to normal. PART NUMBERS. The EPS numbers on the outside casing are P68242957AD and TIC2794A8134. My partner has driven the vehicle when the vehicle’s braking system is abruptly initiated, the first time his chest was slammed into the steering wheel of the vehicle and the second time his head was slammed into the sun visor. I have taken my vehicle in several times because the car breaks abruptly while driving. The last time I took it in I injured my left arm and shoulder when the vehicle abruptly stopped, and my partner was slammed into the steering wheel while driving to work on the freeway. We had another incident where my partner's head was slammed into the sun visor. When I took my vehicle in, I was told there was there were no error codes then shortly after I received a notification regarding a recall for the issue I was having. We completed the recall, and we are still having the same issue. Yesterday 02/08/24 when I was driving home from work my car abruptly stopped/braked in the rain with no cars in front or to the side of me and I banged my knee on the side of the center counsel. While driving the vehicle will either brake or stall and will not accelerate while driving regardless of whether we are on the street or the freeway. This issue has become dangerous, and I would like to resolve this as soon as possible to avoid further injury to my partner and myself. Feb '22 At 19k miles catalytic convertor reported failed for code (P0420), 3 way catalyst, upper and lower gaskets, and manifold all needed to be replaced - took 4 days Aug'23 called to request service for check engine light because it was coming off and on over periods of time. '23 service reports new cat quoted for code P0420, I was not verbally informed by service advisor. 16 Nov '23 driving home and car starts to shake and is slow to accelerate, check engine light started to flash, car enters limp mode, could not drive safely on highway and waited hours for a tow. Codes P0420(cat convertor), P1326 (Knock sensor) 25 Nov '23 picked up car, had catalytic convertor, manifold gasket, knock sensor replaced. Drove 27 miles and car check engine light begins flashing again (P1326) on freeway while merging. Car hesitates, starts to slow, had to merge over to shoulder from far left lane as car had no acceleration. I felt unsafe to exit vehicle being 9 months pregnant. Waited 2 hours for tow back to service dept the same day I picked up vehicle. 8 Feb '24- picked up car from service department. They performed engine combustion chamber cleaning and reported excessive cylinder wall scoring. Service advisor feels confident this fixed the problem. I feel unsafe driving a car that has left me stranded multiple times on busy highways and freeways, especially with children.
