I was driving today 3/2/24 and speed was about 40-50 and suddenly/randomly the vehicle would do a jerk once it got to about 50 and the rpm’s would jump up between 2-3 and quickly drop back down to normal. I was not pressing the gas hard or a lot just lightly and also the jerking would happen if I was going down in speed from like 60-50 it would randomly jerk again and rpm’s would increase and
... go back down. Would do this off and on. No check engine lights or any lights what so ever we’re out up on the dash either which made it odd that my car was acting up. My vehicle only has 59,300 miles and has been serviced strictly at dealer for oil and transmission and I have been told that Nissan and their CVT transmissions are no good and transmissions can suddenly “die” on you for no apparent reasoning. Online searches let me to forums that discuss this being a common issue although Nissan has never done any form of recalls. This poses a safety concern in that the car is jerking and rpm’s go crazy for a moment. My vehicle also after being stopped at a traffic light today did not want to accelerate and “go” when I pressed the gas. I creeped up to 20 mph while rpm’s increased and then all of a sudden the car jerked and I was back in motion. I have owned my car since brand new and never have I had any issues.Read more

It had recently had an oil change at a KIA dealership, but when we took to the shop, the oil was barely existent and foamy. The vehicle sideswiped a neighbors vehicle before crashing head on into a tree causing it to stop. I had jerked up the emergency brake and ripped the key out of the ignition. My Renegade fuel pump failed in a very unsafe manner without an engine light at only 42,000 miles, less than half the expected life of that component. I was driving on the highway and without warning I could no longer accelerate and I had plenty of fuel but no engine light came on and I had to glide to the right while cars were speeding around me before I reached 0mph. My fuel pump was fixed and they said it was a common issue but I had no recourse to investigate beyond "it's not a recall". The dealership just messaged me saying the van is ready to be picked up and that the charging system was just low. But it still had nearly 1/2 the battery left when this happened! The dealership went on to say, "So here is the deal, we could not verify the concern at this time. There are no codes in the system, nothing to really test for. I can have someone drive it and see if anything happens, but without being able to duplicate your concern, we cannot diagnose it." My sister-in-law had the exact same issue on her own Chrysler pacific Hybrid just a few months ago, while she was on the freeway and her speed was instantly throttled. They replaced the entire electrical hybrid transmission. This is a known issue with this vehicle and it is going to put my life and my kid's life at risk since the dealership cannot reproduce the error. On 1/24/24, we were driving at about 65 mph. With no warning, FCW, LDW, ABS, Tire Pressure and check engine lights as well as FCW System Failure reported on dash. About three weeks later on 2/21/24, we were on a highway pass over mountain traveling about 65mph. The lights came on again and car slowed again to about 25mph. This was very dangerous on a pass with many cars accelerating around us on the uphill part of the pass. We had to pull over again. We turned engine back on but FCW and LDW lights remained on. We were able to drive normally again. When we got home, I took the car to a mechanic who did a diagnostic test and replaced the high pressure fuel pump. The FCW and LDW lights remained on as well as notification of FCW System Failure. The mechanic said he did not have recalibration equipment and I would have to go to Honda dealer for recalibration. I have an appointment on 3/6/24 with Honda for recalibration. I have since gone online and see many Honda owners are having this occur with various fixes but the problem has recurred for many owners. This is very dangerous and needs to be addressed ASAP before a collision occurs and possible death of those involved as a result.Read more

It wouldn't go into neutral and my parking brake was engaged blinking. I put on my hazard lights and called 911 for traffic assistance while sitting in my car. I was able to safely exit and after calling Audi, I could get my car into neutral and move it off the busy street with the help of some good Samaritans. I had the car towed to Audi. There were many cars on the road when this happened, and I automatically turned on my emergency blinkers. There was a large 16-wheeler behind me that noted something was wrong and slowed down with his emergency lights blinking as well to support me. I panicked and found the nearest exit to come off the highway and before I could make it to the traffic light, the car shut off unexpectedly and completely stopped with no warning. Attempts to restart the vehicle did not yield positive results. After 2 hours of waiting for a tow truck in the middle of the road blocking traffic and waving people around my car, I was able to tow my vehicle to a dealership in NJ close by my house. As it was evening time, I left it at the dealership service center and dropped keys in drop box. I spent several days on the phone with Hyundai Service Center arguing to get my car checked as they told me that appointments were all booked, despite this being an emergency. I had no idea what was happening, but it was clearly inoperable, and I made that very clear. Finally, today, Thursday, [XXX] they confirmed that diagnostic testing showed ICCU failure. They advised that the part is on back-order, and they issued me a loaner for the time being. I have no idea how long this will take to fix. Luckily, I didn't have an accident, although very well could have with how quickly the issue escalated. Since more than 18 months, we have the known intermittent problem described in TSB [XXX], where all of a sudden the wrench appears, speedometer drops to zero and car can't change gear anymore. Technicians drove it for 11 miles (!) and could not reproduce the problem so could not do the required work ie changing the molded leadframe. Now, in January 2024 the problem happened again and this time the Check Engine light came on. The same error code P0720 was now permanently stored. Took the car to the garage, where they were able to diagnose the problem and ... replaced the molded leadframe. This at an out of pocket cost of $1,300. Contacted Ford and they say there is no program or financial assistance in place for this problem, despite all the information that can be found. It is clear this a general problem of all 6R80 gearboxes beyond the time periods stated in the recall. Ford is negligent by not doing a recall on all cars having this gearbox. Nobody is looking at this issue at Ford, when creating a case number they say no program exists, and state paperwork and proof can be sent to a PO BOX in Dearborn (not even an email address to send attachments in this 21st century). Emergency services were called, and both the fire department and police assisted in freeing my mother from the vehicle. However, the police did not file an accident report since it occurred on private property. Subsequently, I contacted my insurance agent, and the car was towed to a repair shop recommended by the dealer. Today, I was informed by the repair shop that the damages are extensive enough for the car to be considered totaled by the insurance company. Fortunately, the incident did not occur while driving on the freeway or public roads earlier that day, potentially averting a more serious accident. Nevertheless, the ordeal has caused considerable stress and sleep loss for all involved. I have since reached out to the repair shop and dealer to conduct a thorough diagnostic analysis to determine the cause of the malfunction. I've requested copies of the data captured by the On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) system and Event Data Recorder (EDR), emphasizing that this data should not be deleted without my consent. However, I am uncertain about the next steps if the insurance company removes the car from the repair shop and how to access the requested data. Upon researching online, I've discovered numerous similar cases involving Mercedes-Benz cars, with over 20 incidents reported and 11 specifically concerning the same model as mine.Read more

The insurance company then towed the vehicle to another tow lot, where the damage was being estimated. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. There is a code that comes on my car, makes the engine light come on then it goes out on its own . And every year it’s back on same code. Has been happening for years . I took it to the dealership 2xs for the same reason each time they said nothing was wrong cleared the code and the engine light went out. So the Happy Hyundai dealership ship said leave the car overnight and see if the engine light is back on and if so he can see then what the issue is because it won’t be historical. I paid $212 for diagnostic, and then a few days he said leave overnight. He discovered that the throttle body had an issue and suggested cleaning. But the car goes in limp mode and I couldn’t accelerate but 20-25 mph. The first 20 mins of driving every day. Then it takes off. He determined that an accelerator pedal position sensor was bad. And I went years without any one diagnosing this. My car only has 34550miles approximately. And it’s almost 9 years old. 34k miles a sensor shouldn’t be bad that soon. The codes were P0651/ and P2106. And now in 2024, someone finally figured it out. But now it’s been almost 9 years and I’m paying $900 or 1k for replacement when it was clearly something wrong years ago . Undiagnosed.Read more

I got it towed to a dealership and after paying out of pocket for a diagnostic they found that my truck had a recall with the oss sensor on the transmission witch caused significant engine and transmission damage resulting in $18,000.00 to fix. Apparently the warranty expires 10 years or 150k miles which my truck has surpassed both. Incident happened one time. Starting car in cold weather (around 25 degrees) after it hadn't been driven in 2 days. The odometer/gas display was black at start up. After a few minutes the gauge lights came on but the digital display was gibberish. Three times now over the past 4 months, including an incident yesterday, when I try to accelerate from a stop, the car just rolls forward slowly as if in neutral, but there is zero acceleration power for about 5 seconds, and then it engages and accelerates like normal. ... it doesn't accelerate at all for several seconds. Every time that this has happened has been when I was pulling out into traffic on a very busy road. I am about to call the dealership about this issue, but since there are no warning lights activated, there won't be any codes that will show up, and they won't be able to diagnose the problem. When I searched online, "Toyota Venza won't accelerate", there are at least a half dozen people in forums that I've found that have experienced the exact same issue, which hasn't been resolved because the car doesn't register any issues, so the dealership can't find any system codes indicating that there is a problem. I am incredibly concerned about this because the entrance to my neighborhood is on a steep incline, and I usually have to quickly accelerate onto the main road, which is very busy and has a blind curve on the left hand side. Random failure to accelerate is incredibly dangerous already, but at least twice a day every day I have to pull out of my neighborhood. I am very concerned that one of these acceleration failures will end up getting me or one of my family members seriously harmed or killed if this isn't addressed soon. Venzas are lesser known models, so there are limited numbers of them on the road, but this issue is a serious safety hazard that is going to get someone killed if not addressed, it's only a matter of time.Read more

On about 5 occasions, when I have set the drive mode to "Snow Mode", after a stop, the accelerator pedal has no effect. I can push down the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and nothing happens. There is no indication that the engine is revving and the vehicle does not accelerate. I was lucky that no cars were right behind me as the traffic was moving about 60 mph or my car could have been rear-ended when it came to such an abrupt stop. I put the car in park and turned off the engine, then turned it back on after a couple of minutes. The dashboard was flashing “Hybrid System Malfunction” and “check engine” light was on but I was able to drive it because it had switched to gas power mode. I immediately drove the car to New Century Mazda in Alhambra where I purchased it on [XXX]. The Mazda app on my phone captured two Vehicle Issues Detected at the same time: Hybrid System Malfunction: There is a possibility of restricted power output” and “i-ACTIVSENSE malfunction.” The Hybrid System Malfunction was the most serious and frightening of a series of malfunctions that my car experienced since it was purchased two months ago. On [XXX] (4 days after purchase) the car displayed “Approaching Vehicle Audible System (AVIS) Malfunction,” on [XXX], a “Brake!”light came on when we started the car after it had been parked, which disabled the steering wheel and the gear shift preventing us from driving (problem resolved by turning the car on and off several times). I rapidly lost speed and was decelerating with a truck directly behind me and another vehicle to my right in the regular lane. I had to quickly turn on my emergency flashers and pray the truck behind me was paying attention and didn’t hit me. I was jamming up traffic until I was able to get pulled over off the road. My vehicle has been into Hyundai’s garage a total of four times now for the same issue. They have yet to find the root of the problem or fix it. I recently picked up my car on [XXX] from the garage and exactly two weeks later it did it again, this time with my husband in the car so it is once again back in the garage. The last trip to the garage they were able to duplicate the issue but can’t find a cause. Twice my check engine light came on after the fact but only two of the four times. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle but corporate Hyundai did an “investigation” into my case and told me today they found I am not eligible for a refund or replacement and to continue to take it to a certified Hyundai garage if/when I continue to have problems. I’m very concerned I’ll be in a traffic accident when this happens again and now the occurrences are happening more frequently.
