Nissan offered just $1500.00 towards an estimated $6000 CVT repair bill. This problem is an extension of the 2022 Class Action Lawsuit that needs to be re-established. Nissan manufactured the vehicles with the knowledge of the defective CVT and did not make the consumers aware of the defect. Nissan dealerships also needs to be held accountable for their knowledge of the fraudulent act of Nissan to the consumers. Dealerships sold the vehicles also with the knowledge of the defective CVT. Nissan manipulated the law with a bogus extended warranty that protects Nissan from having to correct the wrong.Read more

While Toyota extended the warranty to 10years/150,000k and my car is 1-2 years past the warranty, it's only been barely 80,000mi and it should not be causing this problem. This transmission/ECM problem puts me and the passengers to risks because both the speed and RPM don't go past certain numbers which is low at most times, limiting myself as the driver to go even within the speed limits. All the more, with this happening more frequently these days than it had in the past, I am highly concerned for my safety and not feel safe to have someone in my car. I have been to 4 different mechanics and they have told me the same problem and that it's the same case as they saw from different RAV4's recall problem. To do this, I was making a hair pin turn, moving at very slow speed. I was pulling in alongside a car that was already parked there. When the front of my car was in the space and I was completing my turn, I lifted my foot from the accelerator, and the car suddenly lurched forward at high speed. Before I could recover, the car crashed into a high concrete curb that marked the end of the parking space. The front bumper of my car was damaged and items flew off the seats of my car onto the floor. I was shaken up, but the air bags did not deploy. I was able to back out, complete parking, and proceed with my day. If this had happened in other circumstances, it could have led to loss of life. If I was on a street, and pedestrians were walking, for example. If the concrete curb had not been there to stop me, I don't know what would have happened. If another car had been where the curb was, it would have been damaged. This has only happened once. We haven't tried to reproduce it. I have continued to drive the car, and it has been fine. There were no indications (warning lights, etc) that this was going to happen. No warning lights have gone on since it happened. While in the process of pulling into marked stall in parking lot car accelerated unexpectedly jumping over a concrete stop and crashing into the wall of a building. Car sustained eleven thousand dollars worth of damage and the wall that was hit was caved in. Cost of wall repair is unknown at this time. After the collision an attempt to dislodge the car was attempted by putting the car in reverse.

I have not had it diagnosed yet, planning to, service is just so expensive. I have had the car in my car for 1 year and 1 month, purchased from MAX Motors in Harrisonville, Mo. The car started jerking and slowing down on the highway and would not accelerate. I was able to pull over to the side of the road and had the car towed to a service center. A repair shop did a print out of the error codes from the computer which indicated an error relating to the power steering control module. A search online show that many other Ford flex owners have experienced similar issues.

... e only initial indication something may be off was the "sloshing" noise that came from the engine after shutting it off. Initially, we took the car to our independent mechanic who informed us that the car was experiencing coolant intrusion into the engine and the only remedy would be to replace the engine. He shared with us that this type of engine is NOTORIOUS for this malfunction. Being as Darling's could not give us an appointment promptly, , we just kept checking the coolant levels and cautiously drove the vehicle. On May 3, I was driving when the dash lit up with "High Engine Temperature-stop safely" warnings and the gauge went from normal to all the way to H. We added coolant and this did not happen again. However, between May 3 and the date of our appointment at the dealership, May 17th, a host of new problems seemed to happen overnight. The car would not start several times both after being driven and sitting overnight. While backing down my driveway, the car stalled and wouldn't start again, luckily I wasn't in traffic. Right before our appointment and the final straw was when I was leaving for work. The car wouldn't start, so I left it for a few minutes and I was able to restart it. I drove down the street maybe a block away when all this white smoke filled the inside of the car along with pouring out the back exhaust. Darling's stated it "coded P0304, for a misfire on 4, coolant was entering cylinder 4, needs a motor". Cost to fix is more than what the car is worth and we still owe $4000 on it. When driving, after a period of 10 - 20 minutes usually, of the adaptive cruise being on (not necessarily in use), the buttons on the steering wheel will re-map. That is, the + button for adjusting the cruise speed up by 1 mph increments will switch with the - button that adjusts the cruise speed down by 1 mph increments. This happens reliably... if I've driven the car with adaptive cruise on
... for more that 10 - 20 minutes, the buttons will re-map. + slows the car down or doesn't work at all (does nothing). - speeds the car up. Also, rarely, the cancel button will speed the car up. Often the cancel button will not work and the only way to disengage the adaptive cruise is to tap on the brake pedal. Less frequently--maybe about 1/3 - 1/2 of the time, the "off" button, which turns the adaptive cruise off entirely, will not work. Note, that this is not the "engage" or "enable" button. These are the buttons that just turn on and off the adaptive cruise and show that it is now ready to be set if on. I discussed this with the dealer. I believe it is a software problem, they cannot find a software problem as they patched the software in the car up to the latest version. They want to replace the steering wheel where the switches are. This is a $750 repair. (I'm not sure if it's the whole steering wheel or the switch cluster on the wheel.) I cannot afford it and I'm not convinced it will work. I believe they are just guessing at a solution. Nothing to my knowledge has ever spilled on the steering wheel to potentially damage the switchgear. Also, this, to me, does not explain how it always works correctly for the first 10 - 20 minutes of driving, then fails reliably after that. This problem has existed for over two years. As it stands now I can toggle the F08 fuse and that temporarily fixes it for about an hour or so, but the error always comes back and the car has a hard time accelerating. Not safe. I called GM and they suggest I take it to another Chevrolet dealer, so I'm going to do that. I'm also going to reference NHSTA Special Coverage N232432680 Battery Energy Control Module Malfunction to see if they can replace the BECM. This is a common problem with 2016 Chevy Volts. I turned it off and then back on and put it in drive. The truck began accelerating without my foot on the gas pedal. My truck got all the way up past 20mph before I slowed down. I tried to record this with my phone as there was no traffic. I could not see well what I was filming because I was looking at the road. My safety was put at risk because had this happened on the highway or a road with no shoulder, things could have been a lot more dangerous. It was scary enough going at a lower speed on a street without traffic. I noticed after this happened that I had a third open recall for the powertrain control module. If I would have known I had this recall and how serious it was, I would have brought it in immediately. Ford should have done more to ensure vehicles impacted by this recall were contacted ASAP. I brought my truck in to the Ford dealership first thing this morning and I am waiting to hear back. The service agent was aware of this ‘limp mode’ situation occurring. I believe I was the first Maverick owner to bring a truck in for this issue at my dealership. There were no warnings that this might occur. I ran into the existing issue described in "Part 573 Safety Recall Report" NHTSA Recall Number 22V-011, but in a state not listed under the recall (vehicle purchased used in Pennsylvania in 2017). As a result of this part failing, my brake lights remained engaged permanently, and the car's engine power would increase and decrease rapidly (presumably because it thought I kept hitting the breaks).
... At time of writing I still have the broken pieces of the original part. I plan to take the vehicle into service within the week. There are no warning lights when this occurs since everything I'm the car is technically "operating correctly" - it just thinks the breaks are engaged constantly, and so has erratic behavior. The original recall lists high humidity as a cause, which Pennsylvania definitely has. I keep my vehicle outside 24/7, so it has definitely been part of many temperature swings.Read more
