My truck is a 2025 Ford F150 STX with 5,900 miles on it. This truck was purchased new at River City Ford in Lavalette, WV The component in questions seems to be involved with the turbos and more specifically the wastegate that attached to the turbos. Also, yes, it would be available for inspection. I am unsure if it is a true safety concern as Ford says it is not and it is normal operation. Ho
... wever, with it making the rattling sound that it does I would believe that it could cause damage or that it's not normal operation. Yes, the problem has been confirmed by the dealer on 2 visits now but Ford refuses to do any type of repair as they say this is normal. It has only been inspected by Ford technicians The problem appeared over a month ago and is still happening every time I drive the vehicle.Read more

The A/C evaporator core failed on my 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback with approximately 67,000 miles, confirmed by an authorized Honda dealership in April 2026. This is my second major A/C system failure in under one year on this vehicle. Approximately one year ago, the same dealership replaced the A/C condenser and compressor shaft seal. Now the evaporator core has failed and requires full replacement
... at a cost of $1,741.58, plus $381.99 already paid for diagnosis. The failed component is currently at the dealership and available for inspection upon request. The failure was confirmed by the dealership’s technician and documented in the repair order. Safety risk: The A/C system completely stopped producing cold air with no prior warning lights or symptoms. In Atlanta, GA summer temperatures regularly exceed 95°F with high humidity. Complete loss of cabin cooling poses a serious heat-related safety risk, particularly for children and elderly passengers. This is a known widespread defect across 2016-2019 Honda Civics. Hundreds of owners have reported identical evaporator failures. Honda has acknowledged the pattern through case-by-case goodwill assistance but has not issued a formal recall. A goodwill assistance case is currently openRead more

I purchased a new 2025 Honda Odyssey XLE in February 2025 and soon noticed a clunking noise coming from the front suspension whenever I hit bumps. However, when I left the dealership, the noise was still there. The issue has since gotten worse. The clunking
... noise can now be heard when starting the engine, during transmission downshifts, and over even small bumps in the road. It feels like something in the suspension is loose, and I believe it is unsafe to drive. I am requesting that the vehicle be bought back. The trim on both A pillar and B pillar are coming off. When I spoke with Ford about a year ago they informed me of one recall with another coming. On March 21, 2026, the vehicle’s Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Traffic-Aware Cruise Control (TACC), suffered a severe "phantom braking" failure. While driving, the vehicle engaged in a violent, full-force emergency brake application without any external hazard or driver input. This unprompted deceleration caused the seatbelt to exert extreme pressure and trauma on my abdomen. As I was [X
... XX] pregnant, this abrupt stop was medically treated as a high-force accident. The trauma caused pregnancy abnormalities, requiring a 20-hour hospital admission for observation and fetal monitoring. I contacted Tesla customer service multiple times. Initially, I was told a service check was necessary, but the Service Center stated they could not provide assistance for "automatic behavior" issues. A corporate representative (Angel) admitted the vehicle should have been flagged for a formal medical claim and instructed me not to visit the service center. Despite this, I took the vehicle to the Service Center on April 15, 2026. Technicians confirmed they had no findings or solutions regarding the phantom braking event. No warning lamps, audible alerts, or system messages appeared prior to the failure. Upon requesting the vehicle data logs for the date of the incident, I noticed that the specific timeframe of the event was "missing" from the record. The manufacturer cited a VIN-matching error as the cause for the data gap. On April 20, 2026, Tesla corporate denied that a claim had ever been filed and stated they would not take responsibility for injuries related to pregnancy or a fetus, claiming these do not meet their internal threshold for medical injury. I am reporting a suspected manufacturing defect involving the exterior paint on my 6th generation Toyota 4Runner. This vehicle has not been subjected to any abnormal environmental exposure, misuse, or neglect. The condition developed much earlier t
... han expected for a new vehicle and raises concerns about inadequate paint application or quality control during manufacturing. While this issue is cosmetic in nature, it may lead to long-term structural concerns such as corrosion if the underlying metal becomes exposed. Additionally, this concern appears to be reported by multiple owners of the same generation vehicle, suggesting a potential pattern rather than an isolated case. I am requesting that this issue be documented and reviewed for possible investigation if additional complaints are received.Read more

My 2026 Ram 1500 Laramie has an open safety recall (NHTSA 26V059000 / FCA 03D) for a defective trailer tow module that may cause trailer brake lights, signals, and trailer brakes to fail. My dealer states they can only order two parts per week and cannot complete the recall in a reasonable timeframe. This leaves me unable to safely tow and delays a required safety repair.
Incident date: Nov 11, 2025
The vehicle is subject to an active safety recall (rear axle hub bolt / axle assembly). The issue has been confirmed by a dealer inspection in November 2025. Despite confirmation, no repair was performed because the dealer did not initially order the required parts. This resulted in several months of delay. After escalation to the manufacturer, a parts order was finally placed in April 2026 and m
... arked as priority. The dealer has since confirmed there is still no estimated time of arrival for the required parts, and the repair cannot be completed. This conflicts with recall information indicating that parts are available. The recall states that failure of the axle hub components can lead to loss of motive power or unintended vehicle movement. The vehicle is used regularly for towing and hauling, which increases concern about potential failure under load. The safety issue remains unresolved after several months, and there is no timeline for repair despite repeated attempts to address it through both the dealer and manufacturer.Read more

Beginning in October 2025, the Kwikee electric retractable side steps on my Winnebago Ekko began deploying spontaneously while the vehicle was being driven at highway speeds. The steps are designed to retract automatically upon the vehicle being placed in gear and to deploy only when the vehicle side access door is opened via magnetic reed switch. The failure mode observed is the inverse of intend
... ed behavior: steps extend and retract outward while the vehicle is actively in motion, without any door opening event. The issue was first documented in October 2025 and formally reported to La Mesa RV, my authorized Winnebago warranty service center, beginning in November 2025. The vehicle has been returned to service a total of five (5) times for this identical complaint. Individual components have been replaced (door open reed switch, wiring for switch, and control board), but the failure has recurred following each repair. To date, no repair attempt has resolved the root cause, and the behavior continues creating a safately concern for this vehicle, other vehicles on the road, and pedestrians. Safety Consequences: The deployed steps extend beyond the vehicle's body profile, creating a physical road hazard capable of striking curbs, guardrails, adjacent vehicles, cyclists, or pedestrians at speed. At highway speeds, a deployed step represents a significant aerodynamic and structural load not intended by the manufacturer, risking step detachment and road hazard. The driver has no reliable warning that deployment has occurred, meaning the hazard may go undetected for an extended period while driving. Other motorists and pedestrians cannot anticipate or predict the presence of an extended step on an otherwise moving vehicle. Component / System Involved: Lippert Kwikee electric side step system, including the step control module, door trigger switches, and retraction motor assemblies. Wiring should include an ignition interlock preventing deployment while in gear.Read more

My 2022 Ram 1500 TRX has recurring safety-related failures of the infotainment system affecting both Uconnect 5 (12” screen) and earlier Uconnect 4 units. These issues are widespread in 2021–2024 Ram TRX and Ram 1500 models and began or worsened after forced over-the-air updates. The primary defect is black-screen failures while driving. When the screen goes black or freezes, the truck loses
... all functions controlled through the display, including HVAC/defrost, backup camera, vehicle settings, seat controls, and performance gauges. This creates an immediate safety hazard: I cannot adjust climate/defrost, cannot see the required rear-view camera when shifting to reverse, and cannot access key vehicle information. Owners across multiple years consistently report: • Black screens, freezes, and reboots • Loss of HVAC control and dual-zone functions • Backup camera not displaying • Vehicle/Apps tabs failing to open • Uconnect error messages • Smaller, harder-to-read gauges after updates • Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto failures • No option to decline or roll back OTA updates These failures distract the driver, remove access to federally required equipment (rear camera), and eliminate visibility and climate controls that directly affect safe operation. The system becomes unpredictable and unstable despite the vehicle being in motion. My vehicle experiences the same issues, including: [Insert brief personal symptoms: e.g., black screen while driving, loss of HVAC, camera not available, system rebooting, etc.] Because this affects essential safety-related controls and visibility, I believe this is a safety defect in Ram/Stellantis Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems. We think there’s an issue with the abs module and wheel speed sensor because we started having a problem where the brakes wouldn’t work or would stutter. The car would shake real bad it would make an awful grinding sound but normally only when trying to stop at higher speeds or long braking. The only thing that made it stop was to unplug the abs but then other parts of the car stopped working
... like the speedometer and the sensors around the car. So we got the abs replaced but the new one started doing the same thing. We did some research and it sounds like the same issue Hyundai is having with the palisade. The incident that made us get it replaced to begin with was were driving down the road and we got to a traffic light but when we tried to brake they just didn’t work so we drove through the red light luckily the one person who was supposed to be going saw us and didn’t pull out in front of us so we didn’t get hit. We haven’t taken it to the dealership yet but my sister who teaches automotive repair at the community college is the one who diagnosed it so she said we should report it here so maybe it won’t happen to anyone else. Before we had the brake issue we were having problems with basically everything on the dash not working randomly. We’d be driving down the road and the speedometer and the outside sensors and the gas gauge and the traction control all would go out at the same time it’s the same stuff that went out when we had the abs unplugged so it seems that might be related.Read more

The engine failed while driving on the highway on two separate occasions due a fuel pump issue. The first time it happened, it was just reduced power (could only drive maybe 40 miles an hour). I brought it to the dealership and they said that General Motors told them it needs a software update which they completed. However the second time it happened (4 months later) it was full engine shutdown
... in the left lane on a 65mph highway with my family (including my toddler) in the car. The first time it happened we were able to make it home by driving with the hazard lights on very slowly. But the second time we were doing the 65 mph speed limit in the left lane on a 3 lane highway. To avoid causing a pile up of cars or a deadly accident, we had to use the momentum of the speed we were going to try to safely drift across three lanes of congested traffic just to make it safely to the shoulder. We were then stuck on the side of the highway in the sun on an 80 degree day with a car with no power. I had to remove my two year old from the car so he didn't get heat exhaustion and stand on the side of the highway holding him in the little bit of shade we could find. The car then had to be towed back to my dealership over an hour away because it would not even turn on. The dealership was not able to replicate the issue the first time it happened, but did the software update that the manufacturer recommended. Had
... the dealer done a final inspection of this car prior to transferring ownership to me, as they should have and stated they did, they would have found the solid ice that surrounded the spare tire and investigated the leak and repaired it BUT they would have been required to tell me of this leak I assume...if so, I would never have bought this car. They had the car in the shop now for 3 weeks as of today, April 20th, 2026, and no word on the resolution. They did give me a loaner car for use. They have to dry the car out completely and dehumidify it as well as replace the window that leaked. The risks going forward is to the internal wiring, mechanicals, etc. due to static water exposure for many weeks prior to the sale. Had the dealer done their job with prior inspection, this could have been avoided. I asked them for my money back and they refused so I am stuck with a brand-new car that was essentially flooded with rainwater because the dealer did not do a final inspection prior to my accepting ownership of it. The vehicle’s instrument cluster appears to be a non-original unit that may not be correct for the model year. The cluster is responsible for displaying the odometer and communicating with other vehicle systems. After purchase, I observed that diagnostic scan tools could not consistently access or communicate with multiple modules, and an experienced mechanic indicated the instrument cluster may
... be incompatible with the vehicle’s configuration. Because the odometer reading is displayed through this component, there is concern that the mileage may not be independently verifiable. The vehicle otherwise operates, but diagnostic communication inconsistencies raise questions about the reliability of system-level data. Additionally, there does not appear to be any service documentation indicating that the instrument cluster or odometer system was replaced, repaired, or recalibrated. This creates uncertainty regarding how the current mileage reading was established. The inability to fully verify mileage and system data may affect maintenance accuracy, resale valuation, and overall confidence in vehicle information.Read more

Upon delivery of a brand new 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 with 13 miles on the odometer, the washer fluid warning illuminated the next day. Reservoir was refilled on 3/29 and was completely empty by 3/30. Vehicle was brought to the authorized dealer on 3/31. The technician confirmed via repair order that the washer fluid hose was actively spouting directly above the ICCU — Integrated Charging Control Un
... it — a safety-critical high voltage component. Washer fluid was confirmed present in the ICCU floor pan. The cause was a nail severing the washer fluid line. The dealer confirmed the vehicle sat on their lot approximately 70 days before the 3/23/26 delivery date and that washer fluid is factory pre-filled. This indicates the leak was active for approximately 70 days before delivery, during which washer fluid leaked above the ICCU and surrounding electronics. Repair required complete interior disassembly — seats, carpet, center console, floor trim — on a 156-mile brand new vehicle. A full floor wire harness was replaced under Hyundai Techline authorization. Soaked carpet and insulation were salvaged outside rather than replaced. Hyundai Motor America declined to proactively replace the ICCU despite documented fluid exposure above it and denied an extended warranty request covering affected electronics. Safety concern: internal corrosion from extended fluid exposure may not present immediately but can cause sudden loss of drive power — a known ICCU failure mode on this platform subject to multiple prior recalls. Loss of drive power at highway speed poses serious safety risk.Read more

Safety Complaint – Delayed Acceleration from Automatic Engine Stop/Start I am reporting a safety concern regarding the automatic engine stop/start system in my GMC truck. During normal operation, the system shuts the engine off when the vehicle comes to a complete stop. When I release the brake and press the accelerator, there is a noticeable delay while the engine restarts before power is del
... ivered to the wheels. This creates a hesitation between driver input and vehicle response. This delay presents a safety concern because it affects my ability to react quickly in situations that require immediate acceleration. I have experienced multiple real-world scenarios where this hesitation impacts safe operation: While stopped at an intersection preparing to turn, I observed oncoming traffic approaching faster than expected. When I attempted to accelerate to complete the turn, the delay caused by the engine restart reduced my ability to clear the intersection promptly. In stop-and-go traffic, I needed to move forward quickly to maintain safe spacing or respond to changing traffic conditions. The hesitation before acceleration limited my ability to react immediately. When pulling into traffic from a parking lot or side street, heavy traffic often creates small gaps that require prompt acceleration. Due to the delay in engine restart, it is difficult to accurately gauge and anticipate the truck’s response when pressing the accelerator. With this hesitation, safely merging into traffic in these conditions becomes extremely difficult and, at times, effectively impossible. In situations where a vehicle encroaches into my lane or a hazard develops unexpectedly, the delayed throttle response reduces my ability to maneuver out of the way quickly. This is not simply a convenience issue. The system introduces a delay between driver input and vehicle response, which can reduce reaction time in situations where immediate acceleration is necessary to avoid a potential hazard.Read more

The auto insurance company took the car and they said they inspected it but never gave me any answers, they simply paid off my loan and that was it.
