In January during an oil change i was advised that my Toyota had a timing cover leak which is a costly repair. At this time my car was at 148k. i researched it recently and found that it could be dangerous to drive with this leak that Toyota did not advise me about after i had several phone calls with their corporate office and dealership. And even though it is a common problem with their 2017 Hig
... hlander they would not take responsibility for fixing it. It was disappointing after getting all of the service recommendations done that i would have to pay $4500.00 for engine work for a seven year old vehicle. This cost was a hardship for me because I'm still making a car payment. I also had to replace the battery every 1.5 years. The battery warning light never came on, leaving me stuck at an intersection until the tow truck arrived. It cut off because of the start/ stop feature and that would not start again. No warning. And after about 15 minutes my hazard lights went dead. This is an ongoing issue.Read more

The steel I-beam that is the basic frame on this trailer has extensive cracking and breakage. A certified RV service repair shop investigated the problem and declared there is so much cracking that the trailer in totaled and undrivable. If driven further there is a chance the real axl

The service center showed me a record of the exact same problem, on the exact trailer type (Coachman Freedom Express) that they looked at prior to my problem. The trailer is 12 years old and a steel frame should last for decades! An on-line Google search uncovered other Freedom Express owners have similar problems. Both the manufacturer (Forrest Rive/Coachman) and the frame/axle subcontractor (Lippert) have been unresponsive to my safety concerns. I am turning to you for advice and to present to you this formal complaint. I have pictures should you need documentation.Read more

I am reporting a safety-related issue with the front radar sensor on my Honda CR-V 2026. The sensor is mounted in a location that appears to be easily accessible and insufficiently secured, making it highly vulnerable to theft. My vehicle was recently targeted, and the sensor was removed, resulting in loss of critical driver-assistance features such as collision mitigation braking and adaptive cru
... ise control. This creates a significant safety risk, as the vehicle’s ability to detect and respond to hazards is compromised. Additionally, multiple vehicles in my neighborhood have experienced similar incidents, indicating a potential widespread defect rather than an isolated case. I believe this design exposes owners to both safety hazards and financial burden, and I request that this issue be investigated for possible recall or corrective action to improve the security and protection of the radar sensor.Read more

I own a 2021 VW Atlas. My daughter owns a 2020 VW Atlas. Both vehicles have had a nonfunctioning hood latch. What this means is you cannot under any circumstances open your hood. After speaking with my service advisor at my VW dealership, it turns

I called the dealership, schedule another appointment, but they are basically telling me the software update probably has glitches and it just takes a long time to load the screens. What's with the guessing? Why aren't they taking the issue seriously. The worst part is that the gauges don't load sometimes and there are no manual gauges. So it appears that the dealership wants me to drive blindly without gauges. It makes no sense and it puts the driver and other people in danger. Something needs to be done about this.Read more

[XXX] [XXX] / [XXX] [XXX] 2010 Toyota Sienna Possible Shifter Interlock Failure: On [XXX] my [XXX] child found his way into the driver’s seat of our 2010 Toyota Sienna while the vehicle was parked in the driveway. According to my wife, there were no keys in the vehicle, and the vehicle was in park. In an instant, my wife (who was outside the van) helplessly observed the van begin to roll
... backward down the driveway and then across the sidewalk (on our side of the street), then across the street, and then across the sidewalk on the other side of the street and into the neighbor’s yard where it finally came to a rest. She said she heard something like grinding gears. I presume my son was trying to put it in park. Thankfully no property damage or personal injuries occurred during the incident. I [XXX] ) was not home when this happened. When I returned home, I inspected the van to see if my son was able activate the emergency shift lock release. I found the cover was intact and evidence of tampering was not observed. I then checked to see if I was able to pull the shifter out of park. Initially, I was unable to, but after a few tries and a little force, I was able to pull the shifter out of park (no keys in ignition, no brake compression, vehicle off) and the van began to roll. Our driveway is somewhat sloped. I replicated this procedure several times: a little force and a little wiggle and clunk, the shifter released and the van rolled. I discovered there was a recall for this very problem on 2010 Sienna’s (NHTSA Recall No.: 17V-657). I entered the Sienna’s VIN number on NHTSA’s website and found no active recall for the VIN number entered. I contacted Toyota of North America (1-800-331-4331) and chose to advocate and spoke to an agent and reported the problem. Complaint Description: Unintended Transmission Downshift Vehicle: 2014 Ford F-150 Issue: Intermittent Transmission Malfunction / Severe Unintended Downshifting Detailed Symptoms: Sudden Downshifting: While traveling at cruising speeds (typically in 4th or 5th gear), the vehicle occasionally performs an uncommanded downshift directly into 1st gear without driver input. Start-up Stalling: The veh
... icle intermittently becomes "stuck" in 1st gear upon acceleration from a stop, refusing to upshift into higher gears. Lack of Warning: These events occur with zero warning signs. No "Check Engine" light, "Wrench" icon, or transmission temperature warnings appear on the dashboard before, during, or after the incident. Recall History: The vehicle previously received the official Ford recall repair for the Lead Frame/Output Speed Sensor issue, yet the life-threatening symptoms have persisted or returned. Diagnostic History: The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Ford dealership on two separate occasions. The technicians reported that they were "unable to duplicate the failure" and found no stored error codes, leaving the safety defect unresolved. Safety Concern: I am filing this complaint because the sudden shift to 1st gear at high speeds causes a violent deceleration (similar to slamming on the brakes), which risks a loss of vehicle control or a high-speed rear-end collision. I have raised this issue to Ford customer relation department as well. Case# CXH07719550, Date: 04/20/2026Read more

On April 17 2026 while driving my 2022 Acura MDX at very low speed in a parking lot, the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward without warning and surged into bushes before I could stop it. I did not mistake the gas for the brake pedal. This felt like a sudden unintended acceleration event. I was preparing to park in a stall and the vehicle lunged forward unexpectedly. I applied the brake, but t
... he braking did not immediately stop the forward surge. Earlier, I experienced another unusual event in which the vehicle abruptly auto-braked, jerked, and made a warning sound while I was slowing for a red light. I noticed the car felt as if it was surging a bit on residential streets and was about to mention it during the next service. This incident has caused me to lose confidence in the safety of the vehicle. I contacted Niello Acura who has been very cooperative. I was told the issue would need to be duplicated or that they could only inspect it if a code had been stored once the car is repaired. The car is currently being repaired with close to 7,000 in front end damage. I am reporting this because a sudden unintended acceleration presents a serious safety risk and could easily have caused a more severe crash or injury. I did research on this issue and have found various reports of unintended accelerations in the Acura MDX forums from various years but was unable to find any recalls or outcomes with these reports My concern is this will be dismissed as "operator error" or a phantom incident that cannot be reproduced.Read more

While driving my KIA Optima on the interstate the rear subframe suffered catastrophic structural failure, resulting in the steering wheel going out of alignment, the rear passenger side wheel tilting with the bottom of the tire being far out compared to the top. This resulted in the rear of the vehicle swaying side to side and being difficult to maintain in a straight path. This vehicle was prev
... iously serviced under KIA Campaign SC141 (internal subframe corrosion) at Griffin KIA on April 27, 2017. Despite this safety remedy being performed the subframe rotted through and snapped. This is a remedy failure. The anti-corrosion was applied by the manufacturer failed to prevent the exact structural failure it was designed to mitigate. I have physical evidence (Repair Order #92144) proving the remedy was performed and photographic/video evidence of the subsequent structural break. The manufacturer (KIA) has denied assistance, claiming the failure is "unrelated" to the corrosion campaign despite the part being the exact component covered by the campaign." SC141 involved the inject of wax into the metal components of the subframe of the vehicle and was KIA's response to the NHSTA's concerns about the metal components of their vehicles being unable to withstand salt in the Rust Belt states. The campaign only was for the vehicles in the rust belt states. KIA was very aware this was a safety issue and attempted to avoid a recall by issuing this campaign. The campaign failed and as a result my life was put at risk. I asked KIA for a good will repair of the rusted subframe but they refuse indicating the believe the part that clearly broke due to rust is unrelated to the safety campaign. Several of their employees stated it was very clear the part broke due to rust with one indicating he had a list of rusted parts needing replaced. I'd like the NHTSA to review this failed campaign and ensure the safety of all vehicles relying on this failed safety measure.Read more

Since owning the vehicle, I have had a problem

The most recent attempt by KIA to fix the heat was 2/2/26 and was not successful. KIA stated “there is no fix”. Please refer to invoice #XXX. Driving a car with little or no heat is unacceptable. I was told that if there ever was a fix, the warranty would cover it. I was also charged a diagnostic fee of $159.95 which I paid, but did not agree with. This fee is charged if a customer decides against having the work done, which I agree with, but in this case, I wanted the work done, but they couldn’t do the work because there is no fix. If there was a fix, the warranty would have covered it. I feel this problem greatly reduces the value of this vehicle and some kind of resolution should be reached. I am [XXX] old and driving a vehicle that has little or no heat is not only uncomfortable, but unhealthy. I’ve been paying close attention to the heat when I’m in the car. Clonninger Auto Body Shop 511 Jake Alexander Blvd S Salisbury NC 28147 The 2024 Bronco Sport owned by Megan Michaels was presented to our service department with a customer concern of a rattling noise coming from the rear of the vehicle, along with abnormal tire wear on the rear tires. Our Master Technician performed a road test and verified a clunking/rattling noise originating from the left re
... ar of the vehicle. The vehicle was then lifted, and a comprehensive inspection of the rear suspension system was completed. During inspection, it was determined that the left rear lower control arm mounting point at the body has structurally failed. The mounting location where the control arm attaches to the body has separated from the vehicle’s floor structure, allowing the control arm to shift from its proper position into the body cavity where it should normally be securely supported. This condition has caused: Excessive movement within the rear suspension system The confirmed clunking/rattling noise Abnormal rear tire wear due to improper alignment and instability Cause of Failure: The failure is the result of a structural separation of the lower control arm mounting point from the vehicle’s body. This is a failure of the vehicle’s structural floor assembly and is not related to a replaceable suspension component. Required Repair: Due to the extent of the structural damage, the vehicle will require replacement of the complete floor pan assembly in order to restore proper mounting integrity of the suspension system and ensure safe vehicle operation. If you have any questions or require additional documentation, please contact our service department directly.Read more
