I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG C43 4MATIC. The vehicle has approximately 23,000 miles. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has abruptly and violently applied the brakes and/or come to a near stop while I was driving on highways and side roads, even though there was nothing in front of me that should have triggered emergency braking. There was no vehicle, pedestri
... an, cyclist, object, or road hazard present that would justify this braking event. This is not normal braking behavior. The car essentially performs an uncommanded emergency stop or severe deceleration without warning. The force is strong enough to create a serious risk of being rear-ended by vehicles behind me. This has happened at highway speeds and on local roads, making the vehicle unsafe to operate. If a following driver is unable to react in time, this defect could easily cause a crash, injury, or death. The problem appears related to the vehicle’s automatic emergency braking / Active Brake Assist / forward collision avoidance system and possibly other linked driver-assistance systems. The vehicle has already been serviced on two separate occasions for this exact issue, yet the problem has occurred again. Despite bringing the vehicle in for repair more than once, the defect remains unresolved. Because this dangerous unintended braking continues to happen, I cannot continue to drive the car safely with this issue unresolved. On April 1, 2025, I took the vehicle to Aristocrat Motors in Merriam, Kansas for the car slamming on the brakes and beeping when no one was around. The service center calibrated the augmented reality camera and performed a test drive. The invoice indicates that they were unable to duplicate the braking event during the test drive. They ran codes with SDS and found that the augmented reality camera was not calibrated correctly, so they performed a calibration. On December 31, 2025, I again took the vehicle to Aristocrat Motors in Merriam, KansaRead more

The vehicle’s recall is from 2002, so when we went to the dealership to fix the recall, we got denied for the repair because they said that they don’t have to part anymore. The issue is the front grill design. Kia left the radiator completely exposed behind the grill with no protective barrier. Over time, dust, debris, and rocks collect and pass right through, causing serious damage to the radiator. Based on my experience and the experiences of hundreds of other owners, you will likely need to replace your entire radiator within the first three years of ownership. It
... is not covered under warranty. You will be expected to pay out of pocket in my case, $1,350, for damage caused by their faulty design. The "solution" owners are left with? Going on Amazon and purchasing a metal mesh grill guard to install yourself, just to protect a part that should have been protected from the factory. A consumer should not have to modify a brand-new vehicle to prevent a critical component from being destroyed under normal driving conditions. If the grill had been designed properly in the first place, none of this would be necessary.Read more

Life-threatening, unoccupied rollaway vehicle with personal injury. Possible and/or suspected issues: "Not-P" switch circuit malfunction; "false park"; lack of cross-module redundancy; lack of BCM and PCM redundancy; Diagnostic Blind Spot; lack of Occupancy-Brake interlock; systematic safety failure culminating in unintended, driverless, runaway Zombie vehicle with personal injury. Background
... Info: * Low mileage, mainly in-town errands driving. * Not previously reported quirks, possible latent defects: liftgate opening that was hit-or-miss requiring multiple unlock trunk-unlock doors + get out of the car manual attempts; intermittent off-shutdown double-tap issue to power off car; ill-timed "rear seat alert". * Reported "engine won't start" resulting in three key FOB battery replacements and a locked key FOB. Day of Incident: * Auto-lock and the EBS were not used. * Driver intent was to park and unload, then permanently park. Car was in-park twice before ultimately placed in reverse and backed into position, facing downhill on a slight slope and along a left-side stone retaining wall. * Driver thought vehicle was fully in Park. * Attempted open liftgate via "open trunk, open door" routine, which did not work, so I exited the vehicle to try the manual liftgate button, which also did not work. * Three back-and-forth "unlock trunk/doors + manually press liftgate button" did not work. * Note: Upon opening the door or anytime after, I did NOT hear an audible warning that the car was not fully in Park. Nor did the car move/creep in any direction. * Deducing I must need to shut off the car to open the liftgate -- I leaned in and depressed the on/off button. * This caused the car to move forward, driverless, door open and scraping the stone wall, across a secondary road, over an 11" curb, and down a hill before stopping due to a tree. * I was injured. I was driving down the highway at approximately 70 mph, and a deer ran into the front driver's side corner of the car. The airbag fortunately didn’t deploy, but the hood flew up and covered the windshield, blocking my ability to see. I was somehow able to pull the vehicle over without being able to see. Within 30 seconds of pulling over—and while I was still in the driver's seat—I noticed fl

The car burned to the ground and is a total loss. I have no idea how this could have possibly happened. This shouldn't have happened from a deer. The vehicle was only 7 months old, was up to date on all required maintenance and recalls, and had approximately 11,000 miles on it. It was in perfect condition. We were able to escape, but for a moment I thought we might not be able to. We're lucky to be alive. Transmition- I started bringing it into the dealer around 80,000 miles because it was slipping and bucking (gears). Allegedly, they could provide warrenty coverage but could duplicate the problem. It is doing it more frequently and hesitates (drastically) which can cause an accident from behind. Yes, it was reproduced but as I stated, I was told, "They couldn't do 'anything about it'". It has
... been inspected multiple times at Kia prior to 100K warrenty At one point, my check engine light kept coming on, then it just went off. There seems to be some major faulty component with this make, model and year. I have read many very similiar complaints, online and there seems to be chronilogical issues/problems that arise at certain miles. Everything I have read, it the exact same situation I have been having which is just geting worse by the day. However, I was blatently informed by Kia, "They would not replace the transmition unless it went." I think that is totally ridiculous, you wait until it goes and can cause an accident before you will fix/replace the part. I also read and heard from multiple mechanics that it could be the "failed torque converter" which was never mentioned from the dealer. I have also had issues with the CV axle and oil plastic housing.Read more

I am filing this complaint regarding multiple serious safety defects in my 2021 Subaru Outback purchased in July 2021, currently at 48000 miles THERMO CONTROL VALVE FAILURE (26,307 miles) While traveling in the center lane on [XXX] southbound in [XXX] the evening of 1/6/2024 my vehicle suddenly experienced a complete loss of control. It seemed that the car was accelerating and braking at the s
... ame time without driver input making it impossible to operate safely. It started shaking and several lights were illuminated on the dashboard, power steering was not working. The car coasted to the right shoulder and starlink was used to call for help. The car was towed to the dealership for repairs. The diagnosis was a failed thermo control valve and related sensor circuit. There were no dashboard lights before the incident that fore shadowed this event. This failure rendered the vehicle completely inoperable at highway speed and posed and extreme risk to the safety of the driver, passenger and other motorists. I am aware that Subaru has extended the warranty on the thermo controls valve to 15 years/150000 miles for 2020-2022 Outback’s which suggests that Subaru had knowledge of the defect. Since the incident several other premature “wear” defects have presented under 48000 miles on a 2021 vehicle: - 41,402 miles: driver side rear strut replaced - 41,402 miles: rear brake pads and rotors - 41,402 miles: driver side front window motor, regulator and run Chanel - 41808 miles: rear knuckle assembly, rear wheel bearing and backing plate replaced - 45,768 miles: front brake pads and and rotors replaced - 48,000 miles: complete exhaust system - 48,000 miles: passenger side front window motor, regulator and run chanel This vehicle has proven to be uncharacteristically unreliable for a Subaru Outback. Issue: Tailgate unlatches unexpectedly Erratic behavior consistent with electronic release switch malfunction I am reporting a safety concern involving the tailgate on my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD. The tailgate exhibits erratic behavior and has unlatched unexpectedly without user input. I can support this claim with documented video evidence I took while the vehicle was parked. This condi
... tion is consistent with the defect described in General Motors safety recall N232426400, which involves water intrusion into the tailgate exterior electronic release switch, potentially causing a short circuit and unintended tailgate opening. Although my vehicle is not included in the recall population based on VIN, it is the same model year, platform, and equipped with the same power-unlatching tailgate system. The failure mode I am experiencing matches the recall description exactly. I brought the vehicle to a dealership for diagnosis. The dealership acknowledged familiarity with this issue and indicated they have observed similar failures on other trucks outside the recall VIN population. However, because my VIN is not included in the recall, I was told the repair would not be covered. General Motors offered only minimal goodwill assistance, and I was required to pay for the repair. This condition presents a safety risk, as an unlatched tailgate can allow cargo to exit the vehicle and create a roadway hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. I am submitting this complaint because the defect appears to extend beyond the currently identified VIN population, and I believe additional vehicles may be affected.Read more

I am filing this claim because a mandatory remote software update pushed by Volkswagen, combined with recent invasive repairs to the interconnected safety restraint network (PODS), caused a critical emergency safety feature (SOS) to fail, and the manufacturer is refusing to restore the vehicle to compliance. 04-01-2026: Received mandatory manufacturer software update v3.8.1. The v3.8.11 update is known to overwrite the measured state of health of the emergency backup battery, artificially timing it out after 5 years regardless of its actual physical health. The PODS system that the dealer just serviced actively talks to the vehicle's Supplemental Restraint System. I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my Ford vehicle’s infotainment screen failure, which has been identified under a recall but currently has no available remedy or repair timeline. When the screen goes blank or becomes unresponsive, I lose access to critical safety features, including the rearview camera, which is federally required. This significantly increases the risk of accidents
... while reversing, especially in areas with pedestrians. The system also affects access to navigation, hands-free communication, and important vehicle alerts, forcing me to either drive without these features or become distracted trying to compensate. Although Ford has acknowledged this issue, there is no clear timeline for a fix, and no accommodations have been provided. I am expected to continue driving a vehicle that does not meet expected safety standards, which puts both myself and others at risk. I rely on my vehicle daily, including transporting passengers, and the lack of a functioning safety system is a serious concern. The absence of communication and support from Ford regarding a resolution is also concerning. I am not sure why Tesla wastes so much of the limited touchscreen space on a useless safety distraction when their are other items that can be displayed in that screen space most drivers would appreciate. Most Tesla models only have the one screen compared to other brands that now feature 2 or more that seem to be appreciated by buyers so when Tesla complains about removing it, remind them of this point!!Read more

In the last 30 days of obtaining my first brand new vehicle, there have been a couple of incidents where I have put my truck in Park on an incline (hilly street or driveway), and you can hear the brakes grinding once my foot has been removed from the brake pedal. It gives the impression that the brakes have not stopped. It’s unusual to hear and in my concern, I activate the emergency park for ex

Safety Complaint Description Vehicle: 2025 Kia Sportage Hybrid LX 2025 Mileage: ~6,000 miles Issue status: Ongoing, multiple dealer visits (3 attempts), unresolved Related Kia case number: [XXX] Problem Description The vehicle demonstrates significant highway instability and unsafe handling behavior under normal driving conditions. At highway speeds (approximately 50–70 mph), the vehicle exhib
... its excessive lateral movement and instability, especially after hitting potholes or uneven road surfaces. The car shifts horizontally after impacts, requiring immediate steering correction to maintain lane position. On grooved concrete highways (such as interstate routes toward [XXX] [XXX] ), the vehicle feels like it is floating and swaying continuously, even without strong wind conditions. The vehicle is also highly sensitive to moderate crosswinds (around 20–25 mph). At highway speeds, this results in noticeable rear-end drift and instability, requiring frequent steering corrections and creating concern about potential loss of control. Overall, the handling behavior is beyond normal expectations for this vehicle class and creates a safety concern at highway speeds. Safety Concern These conditions create a risk of loss of vehicle control, particularly: -After hitting potholes at highway speeds -During moderate crosswinds -On grooved or uneven concrete highways The instability increases driver workload and raises concern about potential accident risk if overcorrection occurs. Repair Attempts The issue has been reported to the dealer and service center three times, but no permanent resolution has been achieved. The problem remains reproducible under normal driving conditions. Additional Notes Concern exists regarding whether proper pre-delivery inspection (PDI) or alignment verification was fully completed prior to delivery, as the issue has been present since early ownership and persists at ~6,000 miles.
