CATASTROPHIC SAFETY COMPONENT FAILURE AND INCIDENT.The Antilock Brake System (ABS) Hydraulic / Electronic Control Module suffered an immediate, internal electronic failure, triggering active diagnostic trouble code C2200. This structural internal defect completely disabled the anti lock brakes, electronic stability control, and traction control systems simultaneously. This total system shutdown c
... aused a severe, life threatening incident on a high speed highway in TEXAS. While driving with my children inside the vehicle, the brakes failed to respond normally during an essential braking event, resulting in a near-miss collision and nearly causing our JEEP to roll over due to the sudden loss of electronic stability and traction controls August 2024. The lack of basic safety infrastructure makes this vehicle completely unsafe to operate, posing an extreme risk to my family and other drivers on the road. The component failure and active code C2200 were officially inspected, reproduced, and confirmed by a factory authorized Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership workshop. However, the manufacturer (Chrysler/Mopar) has placed this critical safety component on an indefinite, long term engineering backlog. The dealership parts department formally verified a national backlog of over 436 unfilled consumer orders for this exact part, stating that many safety compromised owners have been left stranded without a repair for 1 to 2 years! Mind you I immediately called JEEP customer care August 2024 and I am still dealing with them till today! The manufacturer is failing to provide safety critical parts within a reasonable timeframe, forcing consumers like my partner and I to choose between operating a vehicle with a severely compromised braking system or losing our primary livelihood transportation. This massive supply chain breakdown constitutes an ongoing, severe public safety hazard that requires immediate federal investigation and a mandatory safety recall!! What are our rights?Read more

I own a 2025 Nissan Rogue, and the rear windshield shattered suddenly without any impact, collision, or contact with an object. This was not caused by an accident or misuse on my part. My insurance company is only offering coverage if I meet the deductible, but the repair cost is below that amount, which leaves me responsible for the full out-of-pocket expense. On top of that, I am being told my p

This event has happened multiple times in various situations. While sitting at a red light the auto idle stop feature was engaged and the engine turned off as normal. Upon lifting my foot off the brake, the car fails to restart leaving me stranded in the middle of the intersection. This caused an unsafe situation as I was unable to restart the vehicle until after a few tries, leaving cars having t
... o navigate around me in busy intersections. I have also had situations where I was unable to start the car while in park. It would start after the second try. This car was purchased in Fall 2024 and started showing this issue less than 1 year after purchase. Given the age of the vehicle, it should not have battery or starter issues this early on in the lifecycle of the vehicle. Looking online, other 2025 Honda odyssey drivers have posted similar issues. At first I thought it was just a fluke, but lately I have been having more frequent occurrences. A recall must be issued on the battery/starter to prevent future accident that is just waiting to happen. Being stranded in an intersection is incredibly unsafe.Read more

I am filing a complaint regarding a safety recall on my 2016 Ford Explorer that remains unrepaired despite repeated attempts to have it fixed. I purchased this vehicle from a dealership in 2024. At the time of purchase, the dealership did not disclose any outstanding safety recalls. Within a few weeks of purchasing the vehicle, I noticed the exterior trim panels were loose and beginning to separa
... te from the vehicle. I returned to the dealership, where I was told that replacement parts were not yet available but should be available soon. Ford’s recall notice stated that parts were anticipated to be available toward the latter half of 2024. However, that representation has proven inaccurate. I have now been waiting more than two years for this safety recall to be repaired. During that time, I have contacted the dealership regularly, often weekly, seeking updates and a resolution. No repair has been offered, and no meaningful timeline has been provided. The unrepaired condition has created significant safety hazards. Because of the loose trim panels, my windshield frequently fogs on the inside, making it extremely difficult or impossible to properly defrost during cold weather. This severely limits visibility while driving. I have experienced multiple near-collisions while transporting my children because I could not adequately clear the windshield. More recently, the situation escalated when a trim panel from the driver’s side door detached while I was driving. The panel flew off the vehicle and struck my daughter in the face while she was seated in the rear seat with the window down. Fortunately, her injuries were not more severe, but the incident demonstrates the serious danger posed by this unresolved recall. As a single mother of four children, I rely on this vehicle for daily transportation and cannot simply replace it. I have made every reasonable effort to obtain the recall repair, yet I continue to drive a vehicle with a known safety defect that has alreaRead more

The vehicle has experienced multiple sudden and complete losses of power without warning, creating a serious safety hazard. On May 22, 2026, while driving toward a parking lot exit, the engine abruptly shut off and all electrical systems powered down. After approximately five minutes, the vehicle restarted and I was able to leave. The failed component is UNKNOWN, and the vehicle is available for i
... nspection. This condition puts me and others at risk because the vehicle can lose all power unexpectedly while in motion, increasing the risk of a crash due to loss of propulsion and reduced control. The issue has occurred three times and taken to the dealership 3 times: May 22, 2026 – complete shutdown while driving May 27, 2026 – shutdown while reversing; vehicle would not restart and required towing June 10, 2026 – shutdown again immediately when leaving dealership There were no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms before any failure. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by a dealership. Each time, they reported no diagnostic trouble codes and no identified cause. The failures have not been reproduced under dealership testing conditions, despite repeated real-world occurrences, including immediately after release from service. No inspections by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives have occurred. Cause remains UNKNOWN. Due to the repeated, unpredictable loss of power and inability to diagnose or repair the issue, I believe the vehicle is unsafe to operate.Read more

Both were dispatched to the scene. I called my husband for help while we waited for police & fire to arrive. My husband popped the hood and we saw large blue flames coming out from the transmission or the engine and we notice that transmission fluid started to leak under the vehicle. My husband put the fire out with the fire extinguisher. A police report was made. I contacted the dealership immediately. I contacted my auto insurance agent the next morning. The fire dept. used heat guns to test the heat level in the engine area. Prior to this, I did not have any issues with the vehicle. I believe this to be some type of mechanical or electrical malfunction or failure, based on the white smoke and blue flames. My daughter and I were put at extreme safety risk. If my husband and the YMCA staff did not assist, I feel that we would have lost our lives. With the large amount of smoke rolling into the air, children entering & leaving the YMCA were exposed to smoke/oder. Police had the vehicle towed to a tow lot near by to await Mercedes to pick up the vehicle and tow it to the dealership that I got the car from, so that it can be inspected. That was on 06/01/26. This complaint is in regards to Safety Recall 272 Component Failure and Vehicle Disabling / SOS System Failure On [XXX], at approximately [XXX] PM, I was driving my Genesis vehicle during rush hour when I heard a loud popping sound. Immediately following the sound, the dashboard displayed a critical warning light stating: "Electrical Charging System Fault — Check Electrical System." Because I wa
... s actively driving in heavy rush-hour traffic, this sudden loss of charging system functionality posed an immediate safety hazard. I pressed the in-vehicle "SOS" button to contact Genesis emergency services. The operator, who identified himself as "Eddie," refused to dispatch a tow truck to assist me. Instead, he offered to read a phone number aloud for me to write down. I explained that I was actively operating a malfunctioning vehicle in heavy traffic and could not safely write down information, but he still refused to call for emergency towing. I managed to safely limp the vehicle back to my residence and subsequently arranged for the local dealership, Genesis of Las Vegas, to tow the vehicle. On Friday, June 5, 2026, the dealership confirmed that the vehicle had suffered a failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), which also destroyed the 12V battery. They informed me that this failure was directly tied to NHTSA Safety Recall 272 (Integrated Charging Control Unit). While the dealership performed the ICCU remedy, they are currently refusing to release my vehicle unless I pay $500.00 for the replacement of the 12V battery. Because the 12V battery was directly damaged as a consequential result of the recalled ICCU defect, it should be covered under the safety recall remedy and vehicle warranty. As of this reporting, the dealer is holding my vehicle hostage over this fee, and Genesis Motor America has failed to resolve the issue despite a formal complaint being filed with them. I am reporting an auto dealership and its finance company for contract fraud, electronic profile manipulation, and using illegal repossession threats to cover it up. During my vehicle purchase, the dealership used deceptive bait-and-switch tactics. They altered my final contract numbers without my consent, hid account ledgers, and changed how my down payment was applied. Crucially, they entered f
... alsified financial metrics and manipulated personal tracking data within the electronic underwriting systems and lending networks to force a loan approval that never should have happened. The business records prove the companies have known about this active fraud dispute since March 31st, when I placed a formal cease-and-desist call to management. Instead of stopping collection activities to investigate the fraud, they ignored my notices, hid my payment histories, and completely refused to cooperate. Now, even though these companies are actively being sued in state court for these exact consumer protection violations, they are weaponizing aggressive repossession threats to try and bypass judicial oversight. The dealership sent a physical letter threatening immediate repossession while openly admitting my dispute flags had been active since March 31st. Shortly after, on the exact same day their legal counsel received the court lawsuit papers, the finance company mailed an aggressive notice threatening a live repossession of my vehicle by a strict deadline of July 2nd. They are deliberately using extrajudicial intimidation to seize the physical vehicle and cover their tracks before a state court judge can audit their electronic fraud. I request that NHTSA investigate this dealership and finance company for predatory marketplace practices and falsifying transaction information in electronic auto systems.Read more

Without in-vehicle connectivity, automated crash alerts / location information is unavailable. There's NO indication there's a problem unless certain information screens are visible, and only then, the indication is the lack of any connectivity signal level bars (a missing very small and dim icon) Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes via live phone assistance with Hyundai bluelink support. They suggested the manual reset and observed the re-establishment of connectivity. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Not yet. I had the car in for a recall, but the service department said there was nothing they could do until Bluelink provided a fix. There's no fix announced. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Safety defect involves an extreme structural hazard caused by the improper execution and assembly of components under open Federal Safety Recall Campaign 23V905 (Ford Recall 23S64) on a 2018 Ford EcoSport. The vehicle previously underwent the authorized interim engine replacement mandated by Safety Recall 23S64. ... se, it was discovered that all but one of the main front engine subframe (cradle) bolts are completely missing from the vehicle. The front subframe must be completely dropped and reinstalled to execute this specific recall's interim repair. The missing hardware is a direct result of critical structural fasteners being left loose or entirely uninstalled during the official recall service. As a direct consequence of the detached subframe shifting dynamically while driving, the vehicle has suffered severe structural and tire damage and tracking misalignment. The vehicle has been officially deemed entirely unroadworthy and unsafe to drive due to an imminent risk of structural collapse or catastrophic steering and control failure. The consumer is currently facing a refusal of accountability regarding this safety failure. The manufacturer's customer service division is classifying this severe hazard as a localized dealership workmanship dispute rather than a critical failure of federal safety recall integrity, leaving an unsafe, recalled vehicle unaddressed and grounding the consumer.Read more

The handshake between the Toyota Entertainment System, and the SiriusXM satellite, have a known issue. The metadeta is not being received upon start up of the vehicle, at least half the time the vehicle is turned on. This causes a "loading..." screen error on the SiriusXM screen. The vehicle has been seen by the dealership, screen shots have been shared, but no software patch has been issued to solve the "handshake" between the radio unit and SiriusXM satellites. The temporary solution is to hold down the power button and do a "soft reset" of the entertainment unit, which solves the issue until the vehicle is powered off and powered on again. This issue is widespread, and many owners of Land Cruiser, 4runners, Corollas and Grand Highlanders have experienced the same issue, with no solution in sight. Personally, this issue has been occurring for at least 16 months, and perhaps since I owned the vehicle. The dealership has hooked the vehicle up to diagnostic tools, but no error or fault codes are showing, which leads to believe this is purely a software bug with the metadate parser when the vehicle is first turned on.Read more

While driving my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x2, the driver side Active Head Restraint deployed without any collision, rear impact, crash, or other triggering event. There was a sudden loud bang directly behind my head, which startled me and created an immediate safety distraction while the vehicle was in motion. I did not know what had happened at the time. The head restraint remains deplo
... yed/open and cannot be reset. The vehicle was not involved in a crash, there was no rear impact, and there was no airbag deployment. FCA/Stellantis has issued an X88 Active Head Restraint warranty extension for certain Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles involving inadvertent deployment of the front Active Head Restraint where it cannot be reset due to internal damage. My vehicle appears to have experienced the same failure mode, but Jeep/Stellantis has advised that my VIN does not qualify for X88 coverage, apparently because the vehicle was built after the selected warranty extension population. My vehicle build date is January 2018, with MDH 011623. I am filing this complaint because this was a safety related head restraint failure that occurred while driving without a collision. The sudden deployment caused a loud impact immediately behind my head and created a dangerous distraction. I am concerned that vehicles outside the current X88 warranty population may still be experiencing the same inadvertent Active Head Restraint failure. The vehicle was factory ordered and delivered in February 2018, which may explain the later January 2018 build date, but it is still a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and appears to have experienced the same inadvertent Active Head Restraint failure mode described in FCA’s X88 warranty extension.Read more

I believe this is a major (and known) software issue, but the car has on several occasions, when stationary, entered a state where all of its controls are unresponsive and the engine cannot be turned off. *Nothing* related to the operation of the car works, including the electronic handbrake, gear selector OR the stop/start button. This is an exceptionally dangerous fault, as the car engine cannot
... be turned off, and the "handbrake" cannot be engaged. Getting out of the car and locking/unlocking it with the remote does not initally clear the problem. Sometimes it resolves by itself after several minutes. We think that maybe pushing and holding the stop/start button sometimes helps, but it is not clear that this is the case. Rebooting the software system onces the car has "woken up" again has not fixed the problem. Volvo dealers are apparently aware of the issue, but a massive software update by Volvo has not resolved it in any way -- if anything it is worse. Frankly, Volvo should not be permitted to sell cars to the public until this is completely resolved, and cars are recalled for a *real* (as opposed to supposed) fix. I thought you should know. I am writing to express my concern with how Ford is handling Safety Recall 25S89. I have had numerous incidents where the camera has failed when backing up and have photos to document these instances. I brought my 2017 Edge to the dealership today and was told that it did not need replacement. So, it's "safe" to have the camera display a blank screen some of the time? I would think that the ra
... tionale behind a backup camera is that it is safe 100% of the time or it should be replaced. If a part fails only some of the time, is it considered a safe part per the NHTSA? I would really appreciate hearing back from someone at NHTSA on this issue and perhaps there needs to be review with Ford on how this is being handled.Read more

The center console between the front seats has a design defect. When small objects such as a credit card, key fob, or coin are left on the flat surface of the console, they can slip through a gap into the internal storage compartment. Once inside, the object becomes lodged and physically blocks the console lid from opening, locking the owner out of the storage compartment. The console must be part
... ially disassembled to retrieve the object. This is a design flaw, not operator misuse. The flat surface visually appears usable, and the owner's manual does not warn against placing objects there. This defect is widely reported in the "Toyota Sienna 2025+" Facebook group (the largest online community of current Sienna owners), where multiple owners report the same problem. The defect is therefore not isolated. The vehicle was purchased new on 01/22/2026 from Nourse Toyota. The dealer declined to repair and referred me to Toyota. Toyota Customer Experience (Case ID XXX, contact: [XXX], 06/04/2026) declined to offer a remedy. On 06/10/2026, the Toyota Brand Engagement Center (Case #XXX) confirmed in writing that no recall or Customer Support Program covers this issue, and that the diagnosis does not indicate a manufacturer defect. No warning lamps or messages appeared. The defect is mechanical. I request NHTSA review this defect for investigation and potential recall action.
