The vehicle experienced vibration symptoms and stalled on the road. The day before it stalled, there were rattling noises which prompted me to take the car to the dealership the next day. I had just received the letter about the recall so I knew it was likely related. ... recall list. During the discovery process, it was later discovered that the engine had been swapped by the dealership in 2018 — a fact that was not disclosed to me at the time of my purchase. The installed engine still falls within the recall defect interval of 2015-2020 but they are resistant to repair. Upon initial inspection of the vehicle, the dealership found metal shavings in the oil indicating internal engine damage. The manufacture requested my oil change records suggesting that this was my fault. I presented the oil change receipts but they still refused recall coverage and the dealership requested approximately $5,000 for diagnostics, if determined my fault. If it is determined that the defect damaged the engine, they will cover the 5k. After several weeks of inspection and going through the manufacture recall process, the dealership determined the recall issue applies my car. However, due to the engine number not on the “list” they are denying my recall coverage. They are seeking $25k for service repairs. After almost 2 months of back and forth, I have been misled and misinformed. I am struggling to get my car repaired under recall.Read more

Despite the clear causal relationship and the dealership’s findings, Honda is refusing to replace the failed compressor and associated components, even though the failure originated from a part they acknowledge as defective and have extended warranty coverage for. There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure. The A/C system stopped functioning without any advance indication, leaving me without proper ventilation and climate control. This defect raises both mechanical reliability concerns and potential health and safety risks due to metal contamination within the HVAC system. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue further, as Honda’s refusal to cover the full scope of damage caused by their known defective condenser leaves consumers exposed to unnecessary safety hazards and significant repair costs.Read more

During this period, the dealerships demanded payment for diagnostics and asserted that recall-related issues were “warranty-related” or “customer responsibility,” which effectively blocked completion of the safety recall. Despite my continued communication and willingness to proceed with recall repair, the recall was not completed. Kia declined to authorize repairs necessary to complete the recall. Vehicle Released Unrepaired and Unsafe The dealership ultimately demanded that I remove the vehicle without completing the safety recall. Upon retrieval of the vehicle, I discovered: Missing and/or altered vehicle components Extensive interior water damage These conditions were not present when the vehicle was delivered and occurred while the vehicle was in the dealership’s exclusive custody. One time it was on a 45–55 mph rural corridor where trailing drivers frequently overtake slower vehicles. A false right-turn signal acts as a dangerous "all-clear" for a trailing driver to pass on the left, creating a high- probability broadside collision scenario when the Tesla physically executes its left turn. I have no idea if this has occurred more than these two times as I don’t check this. The other time I caught on video, by chance, as I was trying to capture the surging behavior to show the Tesla service center 4. Audio & Visual HMI Latency: Audible instructions arrive 100+ feet after turns, and the map UI auto-zooms away from the driver’s focus, requiring constant manual screen contact to view street names. This forces significant Visual-Manual Distraction. 5. On 11/21/25 took to Auto Shop my MaxCare Extended Service Plan sent me to for a few minor checks, including to check again for oil leak. On [XXX] driving on highway, about 15 minutes at approx. 75-80 mph, started losing speed, had to really press on gas pedal to keep going, felt some vibration underneath engine maybe (?), engine light came on, I got off exit, went through intersection, car barely made it, pulled off on shoulder. Called for tow truck, it was cold, after waiting a while I turned car on to get some heat but the heat was not working. Auto Shop car was towed to had to add 3 qts of oil to do diag test. PO304cylinder 4 misfire, PO303cylinder 3 misfire... no compression on cylinder 4. No signs of visible oil leak(s). * Had car towed to Gerald Kia Dealer, Naperville, IL Their diagnostic test ONLY indicated that spark plugs need to be replaced and recommend that I get a 3 part carbon body cleaning, at my expense. I told the Service Tech I would be right up there to see manager. He told me to FIRST send him all my receipts for oil & oil changes, and he will see what he can do. didn't hear back. Went there in person 1/9/26. Manager told me that his tech "forgot" to do one test, i waited 1/2 hour, those results DID indicate engine needs to be replaced. But, Kia is not paying for it..... Of we had been warned ahead of time, we could have chosen a different model or year that doesn't have these problems. Another issue is that the computer in the vehicle does not function properly and several features are useless such as the reading and notification of a text, the car will send the "I am driving" response, not only to the sender of the text but 2 other people in my contacts as well and if a text does get through, it ALWAYS read that it is from my son who no longer has contact with us. We had a sudden heavy wet snow that accumulated a couple inches on the roadway. This made the roadway very slippery. The vehicle could not be driven safely. ... cle. The only way to operate the vehicle without extreme risk was to immediately put the vehicle in neutral as I lifted my foot off of the gas pedal to decelerate or when going down hill. Otherwise you would immediately go into an uncontrollable skid. I researched the problem extensively. There is no way to disable the regenerative braking. With the design of this vehicle, if you cannot disable regenerative braking for slippery conditions, the vehicle cannot be safely operated. This vehicle cannot be safely driven on winter roadways. The transmission valve has gone bad a few thousand miles outside of warranty. This part has widely been recalled in Silverados up to 2022 but is not including 2024 yet. This is the same issue, that I also had with my Chevy Tahoe last August. Please include 2024 2500 Silverados.

... 20+ years of having the car. After researching and taking my call for repairs I discovered that my vehicle should be covered on the extended warranty IF the recall 60E5/60E2 was repaired. I am in Ohio where the damage was discovered my regular service dealer is in Illinois. 1)The service dealer in Illinois did complete the 60E5/60E2 recall. 2) the extend warranty % coverage should cover my car however I was told my VIN was not apart of the class action although the recall was performed an no record in the system with VW and if it were I would not be covered because I am 5 months out of the in service date. 3) the damage is ~ 3000.00 and increasing because now the sunroof switch doesn’t work and the screen is damaged from water. There is mold in my car which is a health hazard. I have exhausted trying to navigate through this issue! If my car was not apart of the class action it should have been. The insurance minus my deductible does not cover the cost of repairs. I have been without a call since this incident. This is a health hazard consumer driving hazard and should be investigated ASAP. I have attached the initial estimate which will be supplementally adjusted, the service 60E5 document . ... ange, dependent on model. This VIN provided [XXX] ) is associated with a 2019 CX-9 that within the last month started displaying spider cracks at 2 of the 4 corners of the display. Even though this is a known (manufacturer) issue with other cars that utilize this display, the local Mazda dealership will not cover the replacement for this vehicle as the VIN range has not been included in this SA. The SA does not include CX-9s, but does include Mazda3 (Japan built) with applicable model years 2017-2018 (produced from June 27, 2016 to October 31, 2018). --> This 2019 CX-9 vehicle is Japan built, with a manufacture date of "10/18" (October 2018). Many other people are having this same issue [XXX] ). Please encourage Mazda to expand their Service Alert range for this repair, which should be free (product cost and labor should be both provided at no cost to the consumer) to replace since it's a material issue with the product, not an operator error.... as documented in their SA-001/23. At power-on, the car's diagnostics alerted with DTC code P1A9096, indicating a failure of the Low voltage DC-DC converter / ICCU. Vehicle was parked at home at the time, but there is the distinct possibility of being stranted at an outstation or outside cellular / tow coverage. Vehicle was towed to an authorized service center for warranty repairs (the car is ~5 months from date of purchase)
