Purchased a 2010 Ford F-150 that was fraudulently advertised and sold as a 2014 Ford F-150 with 68,000 miles. The odometer displayed approximately 66,000 miles at time of purchase. An independent mechanic at DTX Automotives confirmed the vehicle actually has approximately 210,000 real miles. The seller presented a Carfax report belonging to a completely different vehicle to conceal the true mileag

I am submitting a safety complaint regarding a **2017 Kia Sorento SXL** equipped with a **3.3L Lambda V6 engine**, which experienced **sudden and catastrophic engine failure** at approximately **137,000 miles**. Prior to failure, the vehicle exhibited **progressively worsening engine knocking and vibration**, indicating internal engine damage. Despite these warning signs, the failure occurred **a
... bruptly while driving at highway speed**, resulting in a **sudden loss of power**. This incident created an **immediate safety hazard**, as I was traveling in active traffic and was forced to quickly maneuver to avoid surrounding vehicles. The unexpected loss of propulsion significantly increased the risk of a collision. The nature of the failure appears to be consistent with **internal engine component failure (such as connecting rod bearing failure)**, which is not typical for a properly maintained modern engine at this mileage. Importantly, my vehicle was manufactured in **November 2016**, placing it within an early production period for this engine. There is evidence from technical service information and consumer reports suggesting a **pattern of premature internal engine failures** in this engine family, particularly involving **rod bearing wear leading to catastrophic failure**. This raises concern that the issue may represent a **systemic defect** rather than normal wear and tear. I am concerned that other vehicles with this engine may experience similar failures **without sufficient warning**, potentially resulting in dangerous driving situations, especially at highway speeds. I am requesting that NHTSA: • Review this incident as a **potential safety-related defect** • Evaluate whether similar complaints exist involving the **3.3L Kia Lambda V6 engine** • Determine if an **investigation or recall** is warranted I am able to provide supporting documentation, including maintenance records, diagnostic findings, and repair estimates upon request.Read more

When going over bumps such as speed bumps or bumps in the road there has been a clunking noise and sometimes a grind, for a few seconds. With this the ABS light also comes on. Then goes off. This has went on for the past 6-7months. Its not every time,it is very random. It will do it and not again for a while. On 3/16/26 the SVC FWD warning light came on while driving. After restarting it it take
... s about 30seconds and it comes back on and stays on until the vehicle is shut off. There has been a couple times the vehicle has hesitated to go forward when the gas was pressed. I have taken it to an auto shop and they found code: C14A7-97 for PTU failure. They recommended to contact Jeep since there is a recall for that year. When the dealer checked my VIN it does not fall under the recall. I am afraid of driving it as I don't want it to stall on me or cause an accident as I usually have my young child with me. The shop said it would be around $6000 to repair. If not under the recall.Read more

2024 Roadtrek Zion Slumber Issue: The main latch to secure the pop-up does not stay latched. The lip of the bracket which is supposed to hook over the bar is not long enough so even though it's placed directly onto the bar, tightened and "locked", it comes off with road vibration. The worst incident was when I was driving down the road, the latch slipped off the bar and the pop-up opened WHILE I
... WAS DRIVING. I asked the Dealer - Sunshine State RV to do something about it. Their "fix" was to raise the latch so that there was no way it connected with the bar! They tried again and the result is what my complaint is all about. A related issue is that you have to physically shift the whole top to get it to even line up to try to get the latch onto the bar. Sunshine State RV said "yeah, you have to shift it". This is not easy and rather ridiculous that the lip and the bar don't line up! I never use the pop-up so I hadn't checked that it was still locked in place. I was driving through minimal winds and felt and heard the top shifting. I stopped and looked and sure enough, the main latch for the pop-up had disengaged. I'm in the Roadtrek Zion group and many owners said - Yes! They have the same problem. One woman had winds shift the whole top while she was driving and had major damage. She said that she was working with Roadtrek to get it fixed - so they are aware of the problem.Read more

I am reporting a safety defect involving my 2016 Jaguar XJ. The driver-side door cannot be opened from either the inside or the outside. This failure occurred without warning and has made the vehicle unsafe to operate. This issue presents a serious safety risk. If an emergency occurs, such as a crash, fire, or other urgent situation, the driver may be unable to exit the vehicle quickly. Being trap
... ped inside the vehicle due to a non-functioning door creates a dangerous condition and increases the risk of injury. The vehicle has been used under normal conditions, and there were no prior indications that the door latch, lock, or electronic mechanism would fail. A complete loss of access to the driver door is not expected and suggests a potential defect in the door latch or locking system. This problem may not be isolated and could affect other vehicles of the same make and model. I am requesting that this issue be investigated as a potential safety defect that may warrant further review or recall. A vehicle door that cannot be opened from inside or outside compromises basic safety and emergency exit requirements.Read more

While driving on the 60 East highway (approximately 65-68 mph), the vehicle did not accelarate and became completely non-responsive. Each time I pressed on the gas pedal, the RPM needle started trembling between 600-1100, which is much lower than where it should be while the vehicle was in Drive and traveling at this speed. This was an extremely dangerous situation as I had my wife and 5 month old
... daughter in the vehicle, and other vehicles were traveling significantly faster than me. I noticed some engine vibrations, and the digital gauge cluster screen presented information on the screen as if the vehicle was "off." It instructed me to push the gear lever into Park. It then instructed me to press the brake pedal and push the iginition button. All of this occurred as the vehicle was still coasting (likely around 40 mph). I pulled over on to the shoulder to see what occurred. After coming to a complete stop the engine cut out. I was able to restart the vehicle and drove approximately 10 minutes before it occurred again on the surface streets. At that point the ignition did not catch and it sounded very much like the engine was not able to turn on at all. The check engine light turned on at this point. I called AAA for tow services shortly thereafter, and the vehicle was dropped off at the dealership. I have not received any followup from the dearlership yet.Read more

Component: Air Conditioning / Heater Subject: Recurrent HVAC System Failure - Passenger-Side Temperature Control Malfunction I am reporting a recurring failutre of the vehicle's HVAC system affecting the passenger-side temperature control. Specifically the passenger-side air vents intermittently and repeatedly blowing hot air while the driver-side continue to operate normally with cooled air.
... This condition results in inconsistent cabin temperature control andrenders the air conditioning system ineffective for occupants on the passenger side. Timeline of Failures and Repairs: July 2023: Initial occurrence of passenger side hot air condition. Vehicle was taken to authorized Ford dealership (McRee Ford). Repairs were performed; however the specific root cause either identified or not permanently corrected as another recurrence happened August 2025: Took it back to McRee Ford due to an identical issue reoccurred where the passenger side was blowing hot air. They attempted to repair with the same technician and was again only a temporary resolution as the issue again occurred March 2026: Passenger side blowing hot air for the third time. Took it to a different authorized Ford dealership (Cook Ford) where again, it was identified as a blend door actuator issue. Safety Concern: While the issue may appear to be a comfort concern, it presents a potential safety risk in high temperature environments such as Texas. I think it is crazy that my 2020 chevy trax doesnt have a temperature garage, there was a 2019 recall concerning leaking coolant, and I believe a recall on something dealing with the oil cap or component all of which I am having problems with. A month later I have another coolant leak in a different spot and now I have oil leaking from somewhere. Firestone told me there is a oil cap or component recall but I can't find any recall on an oil component using my VIN numbers. VEHICLE: 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 VIN: [XXX] COMPONENT: Power train, automatic transmission DESCRIPTION: When the vehicle is placed in Park with the engine running, the vehicle experiences an intermittent jolting or lurching sensation approximately every 5 seconds, accompanied by an audible clicking sound. The jolting is most pronounced immediately after shifting from Reverse into Park, and gr
... adually decreases in frequency after approximately one minute but does not fully stop. This occurs an estimated 50 percent of the time the vehicle is shifted into Park. This issue is separate from the known Eco Start/Stop roughness on GLE 350 models. This issue raises safety concerns. The owner is expecting a child and the unexpected repeated vehicle movement while in Park poses a risk when an infant car seat is installed. The jolting could also cause a driver to inadvertently release the brake or shift out of Park. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership for diagnosis on two separate occasions. The service team acknowledged that they have seen this problem before on other vehicles of the same model, but stated they were unable to replicate the issue during their inspections and do not have a known repair procedure. The vehicle remains under the manufacturer’s factory warranty, purchased March 2023. Other GLE 350 owners have reported identical symptoms across 2020, 2021, and 2022 model years on multiple forums. Components are the HEAD UP DISPLAY (HUD) and the WINDSHIELD. The HUD mechanism is located on, and in, the dashboard. It projects/displays driving information on to the windshield at eye level of driver. During day time, typically bright, sunny days, the HUD also casts a blue reflection onto the windshield, typically a blue oval that can vary in size depending on direction of travel and location of
... sun. It also casts a wavering, and fluttering, flag like reflection on top of, to the side of, and much bigger than the blue oval. It also has brightness to it as it flutters and waves. All of this is primarily a nuisance, and somewhat of a distraction, although because it is an opaque reflection, the driver can see through the reflection to the roadway. To the extent it is a distraction it poses a safety concern. That, however, is not the major safety concern. Again, depending on the direction of driving and the location of the sun, periodically a bright, blinding, spotlight reflection is cast on the windshield causing momentary blindness to the driver. To avoid danger, the driver must stop (impossible to do in moving traffic), change direction (impossible to do immediately in moving traffic) or move his/her head to try to momentarily diminish, or avoid, the intense glare of the spotlight on the eyes until a stop, or change in direction, is possible. Obviously, while safety belted into the driver's seat, and operating a moving vehicle, moving one's head, even slightly, is difficult. The danger to, and the safety of, the driver, passengers in the vehicle, if any, and other vehicles on the roadway, is manifest. The problem, to some extent, had been confirmed by the dealer local service center. The response has been that, at least at the present time, nothing can be done to remediate the problem. There are no, nor have been, any warnings, notifications or messages concerning this problem. A browsing of the internet indicates other Gravity owners have experienced the problemRead more

Sunroof was working properly, no issues. I parked car with sunroof open and when i restarted car it started closing extremely slow. Technicians have tried resetting but no luck. This is a safety issue that has been repeatitive on KIA Suvs since 2012 or 2014. Techs cannot reset sunroof and last KIA I owned was 2014 had same issue plus drainage hole issues. A panoramic sunroof malfunction can b
... e a safety issue for a few reasons: 1. Emergency situations: In the event of an accident or emergency, it may be necessary to quickly evacuate the vehicle. A stuck panoramic sunroof could prevent passengers from being able to exit through the opening, potentially putting their safety at risk. 2. Ventilation and air circulation: On hot days, being unable to open the sunroof can lead to uncomfortable and potentially dangerous conditions inside the vehicle due to poor ventilation. This can increase the risk of heat exhaustion or dehydration for passengers. 3. Excessive heat build-up: A closed sunroof can also lead to excessive heat build-up inside the vehicle, which can be particularly dangerous for children, elderly individuals, or pets who may be more sensitive to high temperatures. 4. Visibility issues: A sunroof that is stuck closed can also affect visibility for the driver, especially when driving in bright sunlight or in adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain or fog. Overall, a malfunctioning panoramic sunroof can impact the overall safety and comfort of passengers and drivers, highlighting the importance of ensuring that all vehicle components are in proper working condition. KIA refuses to address the issue and needs to take accountability for this ongoing issue that each model has continued to have.Read more

The Chevrolet Equinox EV emits an unusual and loud sound while in "Drive" or "Reverse" and stopped or at low speed. The sound has widely been described as "angelic" - it is a higher pitched sound which does not sound similar to any other vehicle or even a "white noise" sound. This sound is played both inside and outside the vehicle, but only up to a specific speed threshold. I believe that the u
... nnatural tone and volume of this sound is not reminiscent of an approaching vehicle, limiting its utility as a safety feature for the blind or particularly children who are more likely to be attracted to the unusual sound if they do not recognize it as a vehicle. Moreover, the sound is played separately by a speaker inside this vehicle. This serves no useful safety purpose. It starts and stops abruptly as you move above and below the speed threshold, potentially distracting or disturbing the driver. Moreover, drivers who are seeking to avoid hearing this sound inside the vehicle or disturbing neighbors with the unnatural sound may be subconsciously learning to maintain a speed above the threshold (around 22 mph), even when it is unsafe to do so. I believe this vehicle should be recalled to shift to a more natural white noise sound, reduce the exterior volume, and restore the ability to disable the interior sound.Read more

Multiple warning lights were turning on then turning off in their own, typically 2-3 days later. However while on, all ADAS showed errors and did not work. Most recent time, had an elevation changed (over 6000 ft), lights came cascading on parked safely. Next morning, car would not accelerate/was extremely jerky. Turned off waited turned back on, while lights were on car felt to be running fine.

My 2025 Hyundai Palisade is currently subject to multiple safety recalls affecting occupant safety. These include a recall involving seat belt buckle assemblies in the front and second row seating positions, as well as a separate recall involving the third-row seating area where the vehicle may not meet federal safety standards for occupant protection and may increase the risk of injury during a
... rollover crash. At this time, there is no available remedy for the third-row safety recall. Although no crash or injury has occurred, I regularly transport my children in this vehicle and am concerned about operating a vehicle that has been identified as having an increased risk of injury in a rollover crash without any available fix. The vehicle is available for inspection, and I have scheduled a dealership appointment to address the recalls that currently have available remedies. However, the primary safety concern remains unresolved due to the lack of a repair for the third-row issue. This situation raises concerns about occupant safety and the ability to safely transport passengers.Read more

Incident Date: 12/28/2025 Location: [XXX] Related Recall: 23V905 / 23S64 On December 28, 2025, while driving at highway speeds on [XXX] , my 2020 Ford EcoSport suffered a sudden engine fire. There were no prior dashboard warnings or "Check Engine" lights until the fire began, the vehicle speed started to slow down itself, and I immediately pulled over on the side of the interstate. I turned of
... f the vehicle, and lifted the hood, since I saw smoke, and there was a fire under the hood. I called [XXX] , and the [XXX] /Cobb County Fire Department responded to the scene and inspected the vehicle under the hood. I have video evidence of the fire department on-scene and the emergency inspection of the burning engine. This vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 23V905 (Ford 23S64) for oil pump belt/tensioner failure leading to engine seizure. Crucially, a recall "repair" had been previously performed on this vehicle, yet the engine still suffered a catastrophic thermal event. This indicates either an ineffective remedy or a negligent installation. The vehicle was towed to Hennessy Ford [XXX] ). Their diagnosis confirmed: "COIL PACK BURN AND BURNED THE #2 INJECTOR AND HARNESS AND VALVE COVER." Despite the federal mandate that recall-related failures be handled at no cost, the dealership attempted to charge me over $2,000 for the diagnosis and repairs. Furthermore, Ford Customer Relationship Center (escalated 03/27/2026) has stalled the case by moving it to legal counsel with a 15-day waiting period. I am reporting this as a serious safety defect and a failure of a prior recall remedy. I am requesting a full investigation into the fire and a manufacturer buyback as the vehicle's safety integrity is now compromised. Also, I filed a claim with Ford Customer Relationship Center, here is my case number: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more
