The engine failed while driving on the highway on two separate occasions due a fuel pump issue. The first time it happened, it was just reduced power (could only drive maybe 40 miles an hour). I brought it to the dealership and they said that General Motors told them it needs a software update which they completed. However the second time it happened (4 months later) it was full engine shutdown
... in the left lane on a 65mph highway with my family (including my toddler) in the car. The first time it happened we were able to make it home by driving with the hazard lights on very slowly. But the second time we were doing the 65 mph speed limit in the left lane on a 3 lane highway. To avoid causing a pile up of cars or a deadly accident, we had to use the momentum of the speed we were going to try to safely drift across three lanes of congested traffic just to make it safely to the shoulder. We were then stuck on the side of the highway in the sun on an 80 degree day with a car with no power. I had to remove my two year old from the car so he didn't get heat exhaustion and stand on the side of the highway holding him in the little bit of shade we could find. The car then had to be towed back to my dealership over an hour away because it would not even turn on. The dealership was not able to replicate the issue the first time it happened, but did the software update that the manufacturer recommended. To my knowledge its only been inspected by the dealership. The only warning signs/messages/lights were the ones happening as the engine was failing/shutting down. There was no advanced warning. This care is less than two years old and its a leased vehicle from the dealership down repairs, I work from home there are less than 20k miles on i, this is not neglect on my part or over usage in anyway of the vehicle.Read more

My husband and I were driving down the road on the way home from dinner in the rain when the car suddenly started braking very hard but very quickly. I thought at first that my husband had braked a little too hard all of a sudden, but he said he did not. Before he could tell me that though the dash started lighting up. Brake system failure, electronic parking brake failure, hill start assist probl

As soon as we were able to this morning, my husband brought it to the Honda Service to be checked out. We have to heard from them yet other that $230 to diagnose the problem. We were very lucky there were not others close to us when it happened. This could have been a very serious wreck if we were in traffic or going an even higher speed on the interstate(which we had been doing earlier).Read more

I bought this car new from Davidson's in Rome, NY in early March 2026. This is a 2026 model. Two days after I took possession, I noticed that the spare tire well was halfway full of solid ice. The car has a severe leak through the back right side window. The dealer states it needs to be replaced. The interior frames of the car were loaded with water for many weeks as it stood on the lot. Had
... the dealer done a final inspection of this car prior to transferring ownership to me, as they should have and stated they did, they would have found the solid ice that surrounded the spare tire and investigated the leak and repaired it BUT they would have been required to tell me of this leak I assume...if so, I would never have bought this car. They had the car in the shop now for 3 weeks as of today, April 20th, 2026, and no word on the resolution. They did give me a loaner car for use. They have to dry the car out completely and dehumidify it as well as replace the window that leaked. The risks going forward is to the internal wiring, mechanicals, etc. due to static water exposure for many weeks prior to the sale. Had the dealer done their job with prior inspection, this could have been avoided. I asked them for my money back and they refused so I am stuck with a brand-new car that was essentially flooded with rainwater because the dealer did not do a final inspection prior to my accepting ownership of it. I wrote letter to all the dealership principals involved and NONE of them answered me directly...as if I was invisible or completely silent on this issue. If given an option, I would give them this car back and get a full refund.Read more

The vehicle’s instrument cluster appears to be a non-original unit that may not be correct for the model year. The cluster is responsible for displaying the odometer and communicating with other vehicle systems. After purchase, I observed that diagnostic scan tools could not consistently access or communicate with multiple modules, and an experienced mechanic indicated the instrument cluster may
... be incompatible with the vehicle’s configuration. Because the odometer reading is displayed through this component, there is concern that the mileage may not be independently verifiable. The vehicle otherwise operates, but diagnostic communication inconsistencies raise questions about the reliability of system-level data. Additionally, there does not appear to be any service documentation indicating that the instrument cluster or odometer system was replaced, repaired, or recalibrated. This creates uncertainty regarding how the current mileage reading was established. The inability to fully verify mileage and system data may affect maintenance accuracy, resale valuation, and overall confidence in vehicle information.Read more

Upon delivery of a brand new 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 with 13 miles on the odometer, the washer fluid warning illuminated the next day. Reservoir was refilled on 3/29 and was completely empty by 3/30. Vehicle was brought to the authorized dealer on 3/31. The technician confirmed via repair order that the washer fluid hose was actively spouting directly above the ICCU — Integrated Charging Control Un
... it — a safety-critical high voltage component. Washer fluid was confirmed present in the ICCU floor pan. The cause was a nail severing the washer fluid line. The dealer confirmed the vehicle sat on their lot approximately 70 days before the 3/23/26 delivery date and that washer fluid is factory pre-filled. This indicates the leak was active for approximately 70 days before delivery, during which washer fluid leaked above the ICCU and surrounding electronics. Repair required complete interior disassembly — seats, carpet, center console, floor trim — on a 156-mile brand new vehicle. A full floor wire harness was replaced under Hyundai Techline authorization. Soaked carpet and insulation were salvaged outside rather than replaced. Hyundai Motor America declined to proactively replace the ICCU despite documented fluid exposure above it and denied an extended warranty request covering affected electronics. Safety concern: internal corrosion from extended fluid exposure may not present immediately but can cause sudden loss of drive power — a known ICCU failure mode on this platform subject to multiple prior recalls. Loss of drive power at highway speed poses serious safety risk.Read more

Safety Complaint – Delayed Acceleration from Automatic Engine Stop/Start I am reporting a safety concern regarding the automatic engine stop/start system in my GMC truck. During normal operation, the system shuts the engine off when the vehicle comes to a complete stop. When I release the brake and press the accelerator, there is a noticeable delay while the engine restarts before power is del
... ivered to the wheels. This creates a hesitation between driver input and vehicle response. This delay presents a safety concern because it affects my ability to react quickly in situations that require immediate acceleration. I have experienced multiple real-world scenarios where this hesitation impacts safe operation: While stopped at an intersection preparing to turn, I observed oncoming traffic approaching faster than expected. When I attempted to accelerate to complete the turn, the delay caused by the engine restart reduced my ability to clear the intersection promptly. In stop-and-go traffic, I needed to move forward quickly to maintain safe spacing or respond to changing traffic conditions. The hesitation before acceleration limited my ability to react immediately. When pulling into traffic from a parking lot or side street, heavy traffic often creates small gaps that require prompt acceleration. Due to the delay in engine restart, it is difficult to accurately gauge and anticipate the truck’s response when pressing the accelerator. With this hesitation, safely merging into traffic in these conditions becomes extremely difficult and, at times, effectively impossible. In situations where a vehicle encroaches into my lane or a hazard develops unexpectedly, the delayed throttle response reduces my ability to maneuver out of the way quickly. This is not simply a convenience issue. The system introduces a delay between driver input and vehicle response, which can reduce reaction time in situations where immediate acceleration is necessary to avoid a potential hazard.Read more

I own a 2019 Ram ProMaster. The vehicle previously received the manufacturer recall repair for the transmission park issue (software update). After the recall repair, the vehicle experienced a safety issue where it would roll freely while in “Park,” as if it were in neutral, even though the dashboard indicated “P.” This created a rollaway risk. This happened August 2025 intermittently. M
... iles on the vehicle 68k. I recently (4/17/2025) serviced the transmission (approximately 73,000 miles) and found significant internal damage evidence. The transmission fluid was heavily contaminated, and I found approximately 11 square metal fragments around 1/4 inch in size inside the transmission pan and filter. This amount and size of metal debris indicates internal transmission failure. The prior rollaway condition combined with internal debris suggests the recall repair did not fully resolve the defect. Although the vehicle is currently engaging Park, the condition was intermittent and may reoccur without warning. This presents an ongoing safety risk of unintended vehicle movement. I am concerned that the recall remedy (software update) is insufficient to address mechanical failure inside the transmission, and that other vehicles may have the same unresolved defect.Read more

TIMELINE FROM IN-VEHICLE REPLAY: - 08:30:23: Vehicle fully aligned with guardrail, direct collision course - 08:30:24: FSD actively engaged (Self-Driving indicator displayed), 12 MPH, guardrail clearly visible - 08:30:25: FSD disengaged - 08:30:27: Impact TWO FAILURES: 1) DETECTION: For ~2 sec (08:30:23-08:30:25), FSD in active control with clearly visible stationary standardized guardrail directly in path. System failed to detect, decelerate, or alter course. 2) SILENT DISENGAGEMENT: FSD disengaged at 08:30:25 with no audible alert, no haptic feedback, no visual alert in driver's forward field of view, no "Take Over" prompt. Only indication was center display change, outside driver's forward line of sight required by Tesla's Owner's Manual to keep eyes on the road. DRIVER STATE: I was monitoring road per Owner's Manual. While driving home from work on March 13, 2026, the alternator in my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee (3.0L EcoDiesel) failed, resulting in a progressive loss of electrical power. As battery voltage dropped, the vehicle entered “limp mode.” When I was aproximatly 1 mile from my home when I was forced to stop at a railroad crossing while a freight train was passing. At that time, due to low voltage, th
... e electronic shifter and ignition system became completely unresponsive. I was unable to shift the vehicle into Park or Neutral and was also unable to shut off the engine. The vehicle remained in Drive, requiring constant brake pressure to prevent forward movement. This created an immediate and dangerous situation, as I was stopped very close to a moving train with no functional means of securing or disabling the vehicle. Any loss of braking force or control could have caused the vehicle to enter the path of the train, creating a high likelihood of serious injury or death. After reaching my residence, the condition persisted. I remained unable to shift or shut down the vehicle and was forced to manually disconnect the negative battery cable, which is located under the passenger seat, in order to stop the engine. I am very lucky that I had a small metric socket set in the vehice, that I am somewhat mechanically enclined, and that I have long arms & legs, as this process was extremely difficult. I had to disconect te battery cable while maintaining my foot on the brake to avoid crashing into my garage. The vehicle appears to be designed such that engine shutdown is not permitted unless the vehicle is in Park, while the electronic shifter becomes inoperative during low-voltage conditions. This combination creates a hazardous failure mode in which the driver cannot place the vehicle in Park or turn off the engine during an electrical failure. This incident appears consistent with hazards identified in NHTSA Campaign Number 16V240000 (Recall S27). Despite records indicating that recRead more

We have repeatedly reported to both the manufacturer and the dealership that there are multiple screws and staples protruding throughout the RV, creating an ongoing safety hazard. These issues were present from the time of purchase and have been documented during prior service visits. The RV has been returned to the dealership numerous rimes for repairs and has been out of service for a significan
... t portion of our ownership since purchasing it in summer of 2025. On April 11, 2026, during only our second night using the RV, I was walking from the main sitting area down the stairs toward the kitchen/bedroom area when my sock became caught on a protruding screw sticking out of the stair trim/flooring strip. This caused me to lose my balance and fall down the stairs. I landed forcefully on my hands and knees, resulting in pain and visible bruising to my knees and feet, and required medical evaluation. This incident was directly caused by a known and previously reported defect that had not been properly corrected. Given that: these hazards were previously reported/documented, the dealer & manufacturer was aware of the risk, they both knew that I have mobility issues affecting my balance/walking and a family with young children are using it, the defects are widespread throughout the RV, and the condition has now resulted in a personal injury. This represents a ongoing to both myself and my children. The vehicle remains unsafe for normal use. Due to the repeated nature of these defects, prior repair attempts, and now the resulting injury. I am requesting that the manufacturer take appropriate action to ensure safety. This includes a full evaluation of the vehicle and consideration of removal from service, replacement or repurchase if the defects cannot be permanently corrected. I am also requesting that this issue be reviewed for potential broader safety implications.Read more

Warnings: On 4/9/2026, dealer reports that after a non related repair test drive the technician observed "Drive system malfunction ON during hard acceleration" as well as visible signs of coolant leakage. Prior to having the non-related service completed, I did not see any warning lights or receive a temperature warning. Known Defect — Recall Warranted: This failure is consistent with a documented defect across 2013–2022 Audi/VW 3.0T engines. A class action — XXX et al. v. Volkswagen Group of America, Case No. XXX— specifically names the 2020 SQ5. Despite known complaints, internal testing data, and dealer reports, no recall has been issued. I urge NHTSA to investigate and mandate a recall of all affected vehicles.Read more
