My transmission failed after only having my vehicle for 4 months. My safety and the safety of my passengers was put at high risk because of this issue due to stalling in traffic and loss of acceleration. I am filing a complaint regarding a 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 involving loss of propulsion and unresolved defects following manufacturer-directed repairs. On February 19, 2026, the vehicle lost propulsion twice, including in an intersection. The vehicle powered on and shifted into gear but would not move, requiring it to be pushed out of traffic. This is a serious safety hazard. The vehicle was repaire
... d at a Volkswagen dealer under corporate technical direction, including replacement of the rear drive motor, replacement of control modules (gateway), and multiple programming attempts, including non-standard programming. After repair, new faults appeared. The vehicle now shows inconsistent odometer behavior, including “-- mi” and conflicting mileage values. The system continues to calculate range but does not reliably display total mileage. The dealer confirmed in writing that this issue is related to the prior repair, meaning the vehicle was returned defective. Despite prior loss-of-propulsion events and current system faults, both the dealer and Volkswagen corporate representative have advised me to continue driving the vehicle and have refused to arrange transport, even though the defect resulted from their repair. I have serious concerns the vehicle may again lose propulsion and that control systems and mileage recording are unreliable. The vehicle has been out of service over 60 days with no confirmed resolution. I request NHTSA investigate these failures and Volkswagen’s handling of this safety issue.Read more

Hello, I am having issues with the infotainment system on my accord. It is suffering from the ghost touch issue. When this happens the car constantly makes an alert beep and then randomly starts going through the menus on the system. Here are a few of the issues that can result. Navigation changes or setting change, radio can change or even turn on or off or change inputs, the cars setting can cha
... nge, it can start calls to any of your contacts including emergency #s. The only way to stop this from happening is to turn off the screen. However if the radio is on, you can not turn it off. This results in the driver constantly having to divert their attention to the radio /infotainment system from the road. It is extremely distracting and very unsafe. This is a known issue and there is no active recall. As far as I can tell this has not been fixed in replacements, simply a new version of the same radio is put into the car. I would expect that this has or will create accidents if is nor recalled. As these cars age, this will get worse for all of them. I did reach out to honda and they informed me there is no recall. Please help keep people on the road safe!Read more

This vehicle has suffered from persistent, substantial, and uncorrected defects, including but not limited to failures in the 48V mild-hybrid electrical system, lithium-ion battery system, DC/DC converter and coolant system. These defects have substantially impaired the vehicle’s use, value and safety as well as my safety, and remain unresolved despite multiple repair attempts at two separate au
... thorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships in St. Louis, MO. SUMMARY OF DEFECTS •Multiple 48 V battery failures and replacements •Multiple replacements of DC/DC converters and failures •Multiple Coolant System failures •Sudden vehicle shutdowns while driving •Numerous non-start issues •Numerous red warning alerts related to the 48 V system •Multiple towing incidents (One involving the police) Despite extensive repair attempts, including replacement of major components, this vehicle continues to fail and is currently still at Mercedes-Benz of St. Louis unrepaired. These repeated repair failures demonstrate the vehicle cannot be repaired to conform with warranty standards. SAFETY INCIDENT My most recent safety incident: On March 10, 2026, this vehicle shut down in the middle of a busy multi-lane roadway, requiring police assistance and emergency towing due to the safety hazard presented. The vehicle has remained in possession of Mercedes-Benz St. Louis since that date (over 45 days) and remains inoperable and unrepaired. This vehicle had also been towed to Plaza Motors two additional times for the same reasons and was there for many days adding to this amount (See attachments). MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS/FAILED REPAIRS The vehicle has been serviced by both: *Plaza Motor Compay, St. Louis *Mercedes-Benz of St. Louis Despite independent repair attempts by both authorized dealerships, the same defects persist. This confirms that the issue is inherent to the vehicle itself, not a service related issue.Read more

The vehicle was purchased on 04/07 and represented with a mileage of 167,334 at the time of sale. No issues with the odometer or mileage accuracy were disclosed prior to purchase. On 04/08, the vehicle was taken to Walmart Auto Care Center for routine service, where it was identified and documented that the odometer/instrument cluster is not functioning and does not display or track mileage. Beca
... use the odometer is inoperative, the stated mileage cannot be verified, and the condition existed at the time of sale but was not disclosed. The vehicle was sold in a condition where accurate mileage could not be determined, despite a specific mileage being provided. The failure of the odometer creates a safety concern, as it prevents proper tracking of maintenance intervals, including oil changes, brake servicing, and other critical upkeep. This increases the risk of operating the vehicle with worn or unsafe components, which could lead to mechanical failure while driving. The issue has been confirmed by an independent service center, and documentation is available. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request. No prior warnings, indicator lights, or disclosures were provided before purchase, and the defect was identified within one day of ownership.Read more

Was removing a tractor from the trailer, while backing down the ramp, the welds on the ramp failed suddenly, causing the ramp to drop to the ground, while the tractor was still partly in the trailer. The impact caused the tractor windshield to shatter and cause minor injuries to the operator (cuts on exposed skin). Upon inspection, it was found that the welds for the ramp were inadequate in both
... quality and number. Most of the welds had insufficient penetration, and there was minimal stitch welds across the width of the frame. The weight of the tractor was approximately 2000lbs. There was no ramp load rating either posted on the trailer or in the literature provided. The salesman said it was around 2500lbs, and a call to the factory confirmed that. Standard engineering principles would expect to have a factor of safety of at least 1.5x rating to prevent failure at rated conditions. There should also be a load rating label to guide the consumer.Read more

A very bad ticking noise from the engine. Since I purchased this vehicle, all maintenance and any recall repairs have been completed by the dealership. I have done some research on this issue with other Bronco owners and it seems like it is a VERY common thing. There are many complaints on Reddit on the same exact issue with their Ford Bronco Sports. Would love for this to be a recall as I do not want my vehicle to just stop out of nowhere on the highway as I was told this is a VERY serious situation that needs to be taken care of immediately, I do not have $2k to get this fixed, with taking care of this vehicle regularly there is no way that this is on my driving or just regular wear and tear. This should be taken care of by Ford as a recall so none of us Bronco Sport owners get hurt or get screwed out of money for an issue that we did not cause.Read more

I am writing to formally report a serious safety issue with my brand-new Jeep Grand Cherokee (got it from DARCARS Rockville, MD dealership) and to request immediate resolution under warranty and applicable consumer protection laws. I purchased this vehicle with the expectation of reliability, safety, and comfort for my family. Unfortunately, within a very short period of ownership, the vehicle ha
... s experienced repeated and dangerous failures. On 17th April 2026, while traveling at approximately 65 mph on a highway in Pennsylvania around 1:00 AM, the vehicle suddenly shut down without warning. This created an extremely hazardous situation for my family. We contacted roadside assistance, but no help arrived until approximately 8:00 AM. Due to freezing temperatures and lack of heat in the vehicle, we were forced to call 911 for assistance and were transported to a nearby hotel around 3:30 AM. The vehicle was subsequently towed to a dealership, where diagnostics were performed. We were informed that the issue was related to a coding or malfunction and that it had been resolved. However, just two days later, while returning home, the exact same issue occurred again under similar conditions—vehicle shutdown at highway speed. Once again, we were stranded at night, forced to rely on emergency services, and did not reach home until approximately 4:30 AM. This pattern of failure is unacceptable and represents a severe safety defect. My family’s safety was put at significant risk on two separate occasions. As a result, we have completely lost confidence in the vehicle’s reliability and safety. Immediate escalation of this case and a full technical investigation A written explanation of the root cause of these failures A permanent resolution to ensure this issue cannot recur Consideration of a manufacturer buyback or replacement under applicable Lemon Law provisionsRead more

On April 20, 2026, at approximately 3:30 PM, a 2025 Ram ProMaster operated as part of a commercial delivery fleet experienced a sudden vehicle fire while driving on a rural road near [XXX] [XXX] ). According to the driver, the vehicle drove over a small amount of corn husk debris on a low-maintenance gravel road, which is a normal and expected driving condition in this area. Immediately after,
... the vehicle became immobilized, and smoke and fire rapidly developed inside the vehicle and spread to the surrounding field. The driver exited the vehicle quickly and sustained second-degree burns and loss of facial hair. Emergency services responded, and approximately ten fire units were required to contain the fire. The driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The vehicle was a total loss. Notably, more than 24 hours after the initial incident, the vehicle reignited while being handled by a tow company. This incident does not appear consistent with normal operating risk. Driving over agricultural debris such as corn husks is a routine condition in rural Nebraska and should not result in catastrophic vehicle failure or fire. Additionally, another fleet operator in the same geographic market reported a nearly identical incident involving a 2025 Ram ProMaster less than one month prior. In that case, the vehicle also caught fire while being driven under normal rural road conditions. There is currently a known recall affecting 2025 Ram ProMaster vehicles. Given the similarity of incidents, severity of outcome, and potential pattern, this may indicate a broader safety defect. This event resulted in driver injury, complete vehicle loss, and damage to surrounding agricultural property. Immediate investigation into potential fire risk and defect in 2025 Ram ProMaster vehicles is strongly requested. I purchased a new Mercedes Benz GLC300 2023. Last month, my friend and I were driving on I75 in Florida when we heard what sounded like a loud boom or gunshot. We quickly discovered that my sunroof had exploded. The sunroof was closed, and fortunately so was the sunshade, as large pieces of glass flew off the roof and smaller shards of glass collected on top of the sunshade. My friend and I were
... fortunate to have not been insured and were able to safely navigate the vehicle to the side of the road to assess the damage. In contacting the MB dealership, I learned that the sunroof is considered "glass" and thus not covered under warranty even though the vehicle is only 3 years old with less than 50,000 miles. What is more concerning to me is that the roof was not under a recall, and there have apparently been other MB owners that have experienced the same issue with class action lawsuits pending. My insurance company covered the repairs following payment for the deductible. This huge safety concern is that we could have been seriously injured by flying and/or falling glass. I write to express my deepest concern over the safety issue the exploding roof presents-the cost of repair relative to what could have happened is minor. Thank you for the attention to this matter.Read more

On 3/15/2026 I was on my way home from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania, and about 35 minutes into my drive I got an alert stating "High Engine Temperature Stop Safely", so I pulled over immediately and turned the car off. After allowing the engine to cool down, I opened the hood and started the car to see if I could identify any issues, the "Engine Fault Service Now" alert came up. This was the firs
... t time this ever happened, this put me, my two dogs who were in the car with me, and possibly others on the road at risk, had the conditions escalated. (i.e. under hood fire). The vehicle was towed to an Authorized Ford Dealership, Mathieu Ford Sales, Inc. who diagnosed the issue on 3/17/2026. The dealership removed the spark plugs to inspect cylinders and found coolant intrusion into cylinders significantly on cylinder 2. Dealership referenced TSB 22-2322, is recommending short block assembly and related parts to remedy concern. Dealership advised it was safe and okay to drive the vehicle slowly to a nearby residence (to store the vehicle/retain possession), noting to pull over if an alert pops up and to have it towed if I received another message like before. The dealership advised it was not safe to drive the vehicle back to Pennsylvania. There weren't any issues driving the vehicle back on 3/17/2026 following the dealership's guidance; the car hasn't been driven since. The car needed to be jumped to start the vehicle on 4/17/2026 for a tow truck to load the vehicle onto its bed. The vehicle is currently back in possession of the dealership who diagnosed the issue. Upon doing research, this appears to be a widespread manufacturing design defect that Ford has failed to properly address/recall. My vehicle met the criteria under their Customer Satisfaction Program in 2022 - the vehicle is an Escape, 2017-2019, assembled in Louisville, that was Built before April 8, 2019, and which exhibited a covered condition, having low coolant. The informatic system is completely unusable when this happens and is pretty much every time you use the car when the weather is over a certain temperature. (NHTSA Tracking Number 11726105) I am updating my existing complaint regarding my 2024 Hyundai Tucson (NHTSA Tracking Number 11726105) for an ongoing safety concern involving an intermittent warning chime while driving. This issue began shortly after I purchased the vehicle in Nov 2025 and has been reported to the dealership multiple times over several months. The warning chime occurs randomly wh
... ile driving without any visible warning message or dashboard alert. This creates uncertainty because I do not know what the vehicle is trying to warn me about, which is distracting and creates a safety concern while driving. The dealership previously replaced both front seatbelt buckle assemblies after identifying intermittent high resistance as a possible cause. However, after that repair was completed, the warning chime occurred again while I was driving to the dealership for a follow-up visit. This confirmed that the issue was not fully resolved. I immediately returned the vehicle to the dealership, and they are now performing further diagnosis. I was advised that if the issue reoccurred, the next possible areas for diagnosis could involve the instrument cluster or the control module, both of which are safety-related systems connected to warning alerts and seatbelt functions. In addition, during this same visit, the dealership confirmed there is an actual oil leak requiring repair. This is significant because when I first raised this concern after an outside inspection in December 2025, I was told it was likely leftover residue from a prior oil change. The dealership has now confirmed it is a real leak and kept the vehicle for repair while providing a loaner vehicle. Because this vehicle was sold as Certified Pre-Owned and these safety and mechanical concerns continue shortly after purchase, I remain concerned about the reliability and safety of the vehicle.Read more

The manufacturer and dealer have confirmed that the remedy/parts are still not available and that there is no ETA for repair. At this time, I have not experienced an obvious operating failure with the vehicle itself.
... However, the open safety recall remains unresolved, and because no remedy exists yet, the recall cannot be completed. This is my sole work vehicle, and the unresolved recall is preventing lawful completion of the import/registration process in Canada and preventing me from using the vehicle for work. The problem has been confirmed by the manufacturer and an authorized dealer as an open recall with no available remedy at this time. I am reporting that the manufacturer has failed to provide a timely remedy for this safety recall.Read more

I am filing a complaint regarding my inability to receive a safety recall remedy without first paying for a separate component replacement. Vehicle: Tesla Model 3 VIN: [XXX] My vehicle has an active safety recall related to hood latch functionality, which Tesla stated requires a firmware (OTA) update. Tesla informed me this update could not be installed unless the vehicle’s car computer (
... MCU/CPU) was replaced. Tesla classified this component as out of warranty and required me to pay $1,687.66 out of pocket (after a partial discount). Separately, my vehicle developed a charging failure requiring HV battery repair. Tesla confirmed in writing that they could not proceed with the HV battery repair or install required firmware unless the same computer was replaced. Tesla also confirmed that if I did not approve and pay for the computer replacement, they would not proceed with either the battery repair or the recall-related update. At the time, my vehicle was not drivable, and Tesla indicated the loaner vehicle would need to be returned if I did not approve the repair. This would have left me without a functional vehicle, leaving no practical alternative but to proceed. As a result, I approved and paid for the repair in order to restore vehicle functionality and receive the recall remedy. This payment was made under protest. Concern: This situation conditions access to a safety recall remedy on a customer-paid repair, creating a barrier to receiving a mandated safety fix. I request review of whether a manufacturer can require payment for a separate component in order to enable a safety recall remedy and essential repairs. I have written documentation supporting these statements. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Purchased a new 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser in September 2025. This SUV is prone to windshield damage due to its pitch angle. 4/16/2026 traveling on highway a flying road rock cracked the windshield. The windshield was replaced on 4/23/2026. On 4/25/2026, while traveling on highway another rock chipped the windshield. This seems to ba a defect and a potential hazard. I have also noticed that th

The moon roof glass seems somehow dangerously tight or prone to exploding. This could endanger passengers and other vehicles. Out of seemingly nowhere the moon roof exploded while driving off the high way. I saw no flying object. We were not behind other vehicles that could have kicked something up. We hadn’t gone under a bridge. Glass began to crack and tinkle and cascade off the vehicle, pos
... sibly endangering other cars behind us. Also, the broken glass might have fallen in onto passengers. We slowed and exited the highway, and inspected the glass. There did seem to be one location where some object might have hit first, causing the shatter. But the evidence of a single impact point is not strong. We will never know exactly why the Moon roof exploded. I tapped the glass moon roof extensively and we drove home. There was no warning. The vehicle is available to inspect, but is getting repaired tomorrow. The repair shop has inspected it. The insurance people have seen the report from the body shop and will pay ask cost above my deductible. Total repair cost estimated at $5600 minimum at this timeRead more

Despite having recall repairs completed, I have experienced two separate accidents within a 3–4 month period and no longer feel that this vehicle is safe to operate. Given the known safety recalls associated with this model, including engine failure risks that can result in sudden loss of power, I am extremely concerned that my vehicle may still be affected by an unresolved or improperly remedi

The passenger side roof is leaking water. It’s leaks through the roof and through the headliner. The water leaks onto the passenger curtain airbag before it leaks onto the headliner. It’s on the pass side between the sunroof and the passenger door of the car and on the A pillar. Worried it will affect airbag or make the roof moldy. It’s hard to see in photos but easy to see in person

My truck was started in the morning and as it sat idle in the driveway I started attaching my trailer.
