The vehicle repeatedly displays “Driver Assist Camera Blocked / Disabled” upon startup and while driving, even when the windshield is clean and weather conditions are clear. When this occurs, the lane departure warning system becomes disabled while driving. This happens without driver input and results in loss of lane safety alerts. Additionally, the driver’s side power window intermittently
... stops moving while the switch is being held in the up or down position. The window does not complete its movement unless the switch is released and pressed again. There is no obstruction present. Safety risk: Unexpected loss of lane departure warning while driving increases crash risk, especially at highway speeds or at night. A driver’s window that stops responding can cause distraction and prevent timely closure in traffic or adverse weather. The steering wheel is the principal reason for this incident. Because when I'm driving on the highway almost to get an exit to the right going at the speed limit of 70 MPH the right tire passes through a high/low on the street, then my steering wheel locked lightly and started to pull to the right like for 2-3 seconds. Causing me hit the wall on the highway. Then straightened itself back, I'm jus
... t desacelerate the car and go down to see if the tire is the problem, but not really this is a risky fail on this car i feel insecure to drive it again and take the highway. I feel under risk cause its a highway with a lot of traffic of cargo trucks going more than 75 MPH Im available any day for inspection when needed. This isn't the first time the car do this , but in this case now caused an incident. Before I did the first maintenance on the car for the 10k miles. I took it to the dealer cause since new the car present this issue and they never found nothing wrong on the car supposedly. The specialist technician of the dealer drives with me like 20/30 minutes to verify the issue but the car just do it when it want not always, its like a glitch on the system. It activates some times with the high/lows on the street or speed bumps or on the train rails. The car never present any warning on the dashboard or emergency lights just happen for 2-3 seconds and then goes back to drive normal. Not the first time ,it does since new i got the car since 0 miles and since the 1st week I noticed this but now the fail is worst cause never has do it to me at highway like this time does it just when passes thru speed bumps at low speed.Read more

On Friday, 12/19/2025, I started by car and noticed that the infotainment display was taking longer than usual to boot up. It cycled through the Chevrolet splash screen 2 times until it ended on the "Update Failed. Returned to dealer." Due to this message on the infotainment display, there is no sound coming out of the speakers which results: *unable to hear turn signals when they are activated
... , *the front camera is no longer working, *unable to hear the parking assist when in reverse, *OnStar is no longer working, and *unable to hear front collision warnings. The display just cycles this message. I called around to several dealerships to see if I could get in that day to get this corrected. I was able to take it to a Chevrolet dealership on Tuesday, 12/23/2025, who diagnosed the problem as software corruption due to the over-the-air update and will result in a new radio needing to be installed. I then called Chevrolet Customer Service Center who stated that since my vehicle is outside of the bumper-to-bumper warranty, regardless of their over-the-air update causing the problem, I would have to pay for the repair. I asked, how do I know that this won't happen again with the new radio? They suggested that I have the dealership turn off the automatic over-the-air updates.Read more

The Situation: My vehicle has an open safety recall, NHTSA #15V-574 (Honda Recall JU2). This recall specifically warns that a software error causes high stress on the CVT drive pulley shaft, which can result in the shaft breaking during operation. Because this recall was never performed on my vehicle, the drive pulley shaft has now failed exactly as described, rendering the transmission useless. L
... egal Basis for Total Replacement: 1. Consequential Damage: The software update (the original recall remedy) was designed to prevent physical breakage. Since that remedy was not provided, the physical hardware has now failed. A software update cannot fix a broken shaft; therefore, a total replacement of the transmission is the only viable remedy for this safety defect. 2. Federal Law: Under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, manufacturers must provide a remedy for safety defects free of charge. Because the unaddressed defect led to the total failure of the transmission, Honda is obligated to cover the cost of the replacement.Read more

The automobile's consumer-facing SOFTWARE enables WIFI on the user's mobile phone devices, in my case, ANDROID. However, at the end of the drive, after the STOP button has been depressed, and the car should be stopped, the SOFTWARE fails to turn-off the WIFI that it enabled, thus causing a battery drain of the ANDROID device. When a feature is enabled, it is serious ERROR and BUG to fail to reset
... the settings to the prior state. Further, this SOFTWARE error and bug causes countless waste of millions or billions of WATTS per year. This bug is serious error and should be addressed on a high priority. Consider the poor consumer driving or even just existing in mid-west snow conditions needing to use his phone , but idiot Stelantis turned-on WIFI on his Android, but then FORGOT to turn-off the WIFI feature, so poor Consumer freezes to death because Jeep forgot to DISABLE after they enabled WIFI, not allowing for the Consumer to make a life-saving call. Further, It is understood by this Consumer that Jeep enabled the WIFI, in order to collect satellite radio usage and album cover pictures, and other reasons. Jeep must report each and every data collection and allow for each and every data collection to be approved or denied by the consumer, which they have not done, so far as I know. Enabling Android power drain and not turning it off when done, is like leaving the lights on when they are not in use, except more egregious, and a serious safety issue. It seems to me that the NHTSA should have inspected this software prior to Jeep spreading it to the public. Further, the hands-free calling worked at first, now it doesn't work. In addition, when turning and in 4wd, the automobile shakes and groans and jumps, when turning.Read more

1) What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The panoramic sunroof assembly — specifically the sunroof panel and its track/mechanism — failed. The sunroof panel came off its track and damaged related components (e.g., guide rails/wind deflector arms). The damaged sunroof and broken parts are available for inspection upon request. 2) Ho
... w was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The sunroof panel dislodged unexpectedly during normal use. This could have caused objects or glass to fall into the cabin or onto the roadway, presenting a risk of injury to occupants or other road users. Sudden failure of the sunroof mechanism also poses a distraction while driving. 3) Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The dealership/service center inspected the vehicle and confirmed the sunroof panel was off its track and broken. (If the dealer refused to acknowledge it as a defect, state: “The dealership inspected the failure but did not classify it as a warranty defect.”) 4) Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle/sunroof was inspected by an authorized Kia dealership service department. (If applicable: “Insurance representatives were not involved.” / “Kia corporate has not inspected the vehicle.”) 5) Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? I lease a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that has developed serious and unresolved safety issues. While driving at highway speeds, typically between 70 and 75 mph, the vehicle has repeatedly lost power and begun to decelerate on its own without driver input. When this occurs, I am unable to maintain speed with traffic, creating a dangerous condition and placing myself, my passengers, and other motor
... ists at risk. In addition to the loss of power, the vehicle regularly displays warnings related to critical systems, including electric mode being unavailable, fuel and oil refresh in progress, emergency/SOS system unavailable, hybrid power loss, and an airbag system warning. These warnings are documented and have appeared across multiple service visits. The vehicle has been taken to two different authorized Jeep dealerships and has spent nearly a month in service between them. Despite extended diagnostic efforts, neither dealership has been able to identify or repair the underlying issue. The problem remains unresolved. In addition, two active recalls continue to show as incomplete in the system and have not been successfully addressed. As of now, the vehicle is still at the dealership and is not available for use. Given the unresolved loss of power at highway speeds and the incomplete recalls, I do not consider the vehicle safe to operate. I have contacted both Jeep/Stellantis and Chrysler Capital in writing to request assistance and resolution. Despite providing documentation and allowing ample time for review, I have not received a response or acknowledgment. All repair attempts, warnings, recall status, and communications have been documented. I am seeking resolution because the vehicle remains unsafe, unreliable, and unavailable for normal use despite multiple repair opportunities and extensive time in service.Read more

Incident date: Dec 19, 2025
Description of the Safety Defect: The front subframe on my 2011 Subaru Legacy exhibits advanced structural corrosion with measurable material loss, concentrated primarily on the driver-side subframe. The corrosion affects a primary load-bearing structural member responsible for supporting suspension mounting points and maintaining chassis integrity. The deterioration is asymmetric, with the driver
... side showing severe degradation while the passenger side remains comparatively intact. This non-uniform corrosion pattern is not consistent with normal environmental exposure, age-related wear, or routine vehicle operation, and indicates a localized failure of corrosion protection or material integrity. The extent of corrosion compromises the subframe’s ability to safely support suspension loads and maintain alignment geometry. This presents a progressive structural safety risk, as continued operation may lead to sudden loss of suspension mounting integrity, steering instability, or loss of vehicle control without prior warning. Safety Risk Description: The front subframe is a critical safety component designed to: Support engine and transmission loads Secure lower control arms and suspension geometry Maintain steering stability and predictable handling Absorb and distribute crash forces Structural degradation of this component increases the risk of: Suspension separation or displacement under normal driving loads Alignment instability during braking or cornering Reduced crash energy management capability Failure of this component could result in loss of directional control, increasing the risk of a crash. Subaru of America has acknowledged prior subframe corrosion issues on other Subaru models through recalls, service campaigns, or goodwill repairs. However, Subaru has declined assistance for this vehicle based solely on time and mileage, without addressing whether the observed structural deterioration constitutes a safety defect.Read more

We heard a whining sound under the hood on November 1st, 2025. Prior to noticing this noise, there were no warming lamps or messages appearing. Upon trying to start the car it was dead. We had to have it professionally jumped
... as standard jumping with our personal jumper cables would not start it. Our mechanic explained both the battery and the water pump would need to be replaced. Upon further examination, he realized that the cable or water pump harness that connects the two had been burned and discovered a recall on thousands of 2017/2018 X4 models. He called us and encouraged us to take it to BMW as he found the recall and assumed they would take care of it. Upon calling our local dealership, they looked up our VIN and said our model was not part of the recall. We proceeded with the repair as we had to have our vehicle. Once those parts were replaced, it was also discovered that the issue caused the entire DME/ECU unit to go bad. Our mechanic then ordered that directly from BMW. Once in he had it reprogrammed and we got the car back. We were without a vehicle for a month. GM has an established technical bulletin and extended coverage programs for this problem (example: TSB 19-NA-206 and related bulletins), but my VIN does not show access to these programs even though I am under 60,000 miles and still within the 5-year powertrain warranty window. When I contacted GM and the dealership, they admitted the defect exists but refused warranty repair unless I pay $370 out-of-pocket diagnostic fees first. This defeats the purpose of warranty and prevents consumers from getting confirmed major safety defects repaired. The warning randomly appears at different times while the car is stationary, parked, or driving. The issue has been happening consistently and appears to be worsening. I am reporting this because it is a safety concern involving the transmission and electrical controls of the vehicle, and Chevrolet is refusing to cover or recognize it under their known defect programs.Read more

The rear electronic child safety lock on my 2019 Audi A6 does not function as intended. When activated, the lock does not reliably engage or disengage, allowing the rear door to be opened from the inside when it should be locked. We only began using the child safety lock after having a baby, at which time the malfunction was discovered. This creates a potential child safety risk, as the rear door
... may be opened from the inside when the child safety lock is expected to prevent this. The vehicle has not been modified, and the issue occurs under normal operating conditions. The dealer inspected the vehicle and advised that the repair would require replacement of the rear door latch/actuator but declined coverage due to the vehicle being out of warranty.Read more

I am reporting a driver distraction safety issue involving the infotainment system in my 2024 GMC Canyon. The vehicle displays a mandatory “Focus your attention on driving” warning every time the vehicle is started, requiring user acknowledgment. When using the built-in Google Maps navigation without subscribing to GM’s paid Connected Services plan (while tethering to a personal cellphone
... hotspot instead), the system displays a modal warning stating that a connected services subscription is required. This warning appears whenever cellular connectivity is briefly interrupted, even for a few seconds (such as when driving through a known cellular dead spot). The warning overlays the navigation screen and requires the driver to manually press a “Dismiss” button to continue, even while the vehicle is in motion, requiring the driver to take their eyes off the road to focus on pressing the dismiss button. This behavior creates a safety contradiction: The system warns drivers to focus on driving, then forces manual interaction with the touchscreen during active driving. The interruption is triggered by transient network conditions, not driver action. The behavior does not occur if the driver pays for GM’s subscription service, indicating it is a business-rule enforcement rather than a technical or safety requirement. The repeated appearance of this warning during normal driving conditions constitutes an unnecessary and avoidable distraction. It diverts attention from the road and navigation, increasing risk rather than reducing it. I believe this design violates established human-factors safety principles by introducing nonessential driver interaction during vehicle operation and should be reviewed as a potential safety defect related to driver distraction. We just got home from a trip to West Texas and had to press the dismiss button no less than 100 times while driving through areas with marginal/intermittent cell service. It's a huge driver distraction.Read more

Pulled into a parking space, put the car into park and tried to shut the car off. The warning system said I needed to shift to park. I was in park but could not shut the car off because the car thought I wasnt in park. Took 15 minutes of shifting from park to all gears and shaking the gear shifter before it finally let me shut the vehicle off. This is now the second time this has happened and
... ive had to have the same thing repaired. They are replacing the whole shifter assembly. Error reads SHIFT TO PARK. This is happening every few years now and at almost 1000 dollars to repair and only lasting a year or so, this is ridiculous.Read more
