chassis/frame was recalled on warranty that Toyota did not inform me of and they refused to do anything about it. They said two regular mail letters were sent out to me. I have never received them. Purchased a used 2008 Lexus LS460 and within about two hours the vehicle abruptly and completely shut down while driving in traffic, with no warning and no practical ability to predict the failure or safely pull off the road. Near collisions were narrowly avoided only because other drivers swerved or slammed on brakes. At the time of purchase there were no warning lights illuminated, but immediate
... ly after the shutdown multiple warning lights illuminated (including brake/ABS/stability-related warnings as documented by an independent service center). The vehicle was inspected the next day by an independent service center, which documented multiple diagnostic trouble codes across major systems and stated that repairs would be in the thousands and not recommended. The inspection also noted indications consistent with diagnostic codes having been cleared prior to purchase, and the battery at inspection could not hold a charge aiding the clearing of codes. The vehicle had no functional exhaust system (mufflers cut off), creating a carbon monoxide exposure risk that was only mitigated because the driver had the windows down unknowingly to the leak. The service center also reported tires beyond safe wear limits that were not readily visible without lifting the vehicle. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance.Read more

UNKNOWN what failed because it burned to the ground. August 8, 2025 The Jeep was running and driving normal. I pulled over into Robert Louis Stevenson Park parking area to let my kids (ages 3 and 4) out for a potty break. I left the vehicle running since it was hot and the AC was on. As I was getting my first child out smoke started pouring out of the passenger side wheel well and hood, coming
... from the engine compartment. I got my kids out in a hurry and there were flames within about 45 seconds. The Jeep was fully engulfed within about 2 minutes. Fire department took 12 minutes to arrive on scene and extinguish the Jeep fire and accompanying tree that had caught on fire. All of my belongings inside the vehicle were destroyed and not covered under the vehicle insurance policy. I am grateful I managed to get my kids out of the car and to safety and that we are all okay, but this was an extremely dangerous situation and we are lucky we pulled over where we did. I reached out to Stellantis, and they sent out an investigator, but he was bound by privacy rules with them, and nobody ever told me what they found other than Stellantis sending a letter saying "they are not led to believe it was a manufacturing responsibility." Additionally, there was a police report filed with Napa, CA California Highway Patrol Office, as another car was melted a bit during the incident. There were ZERO warnings that anything was wrong with the vehicle while driving. Nothing to indicate that something catastrophic was about to happen or that anything was wrong at all. I was driving down the interstate in the mountainous region of Montana. While coming down the hill, I lost all power in my vehicle. My car continued to slow down, unable to accelerate. I had multiple warnings/things flash across my screen that identified that I no longer had access to them. After about 30 minute or more of driving slower and slower, able to initially go 30 mph, then it continued t
... o decrease. I was maybe to go 10 mph up a hill to try to get to the next town. I inched my way to the dealership to drop my car off. I know there is a recall on my vehicle for something related to power however in the past year, every time I take it to dealer, they say there is nothing available to fix it. I now have no vehicle and I could have easily been hit from behind during the time where I continued to lose power in the vehicle. It was a terrifying feeling to know I could be stranded on a mountain road with no cell service, etc. If there is something wrong with a vehicle because of manufacture errors, then they need to do something ASAP or provide me a new car immediately for my safety and well being. If the whole 2019 model of Jeep is an issue, then provide me a new vehicle. This is not the first issue I had with this car. Early on after purchasing it, my dash lights would all disappear while driving down the road. No speedometer, nothing. The area where the radio and other communication is at, got so hot that one could not even touch it. They did eventually replace whatever caused that problem but that was a safety issue as well. Last year I was in a car accident because I stepped on the gas to go, and there was nothing and then all of a sudden it took off and by then the car in front of me stopped. This is when I realized there is a significant problem with the power of the car. The dealer said it was probably related to the recall but don't have a way to address it.Read more

I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the paint on my 2017 Kia, which has begun peeling and coming off prematurely. I have raised this issue multiple times with my local Kia dealership and inquired about possible warranty coverage or repair options, as paint deterioration of this nature should not be occurring. I have also become aware of numerous similar complaints from other Kia
... owners experiencing the same issue with white paint, which suggests this may be a broader quality concern. Unfortunately, despite repeated discussions, the dealership has consistently dismissed my concerns and advised that the paint warranty has expired, without offering any alternative solutions or escalation options. I specifically asked the dealership whether they could contact Kia directly to request an exception or goodwill repair due to the nature of the issue, but I was told this would not be done. I am reaching out to you directly in hopes that this matter can be reviewed at a higher level. I would appreciate the opportunity to evaluate this concern and advise whether assistance, repair, or an exception can be made. My intention is to resolve this matter amicably, and I wanted to bring it to your attention before pursuing a formal complaint. Thank you for your time and consideration. The In-Cabin Camera system is having non stop issues. I have had this car since 2024 and have never experienced issues with this system like I have for the past month or so. I don't know if this is because of the latest update that was done on 11-26-25 or not.The system constantly goes off telling me to keep my eyes on the road when I am staring at the car in front of my while I am driving. It din

On all these drives I was only driving for 20-25 minutes at a time. On the 8th the system went off 26 times, on the 9th it went off 18 times and on the 12th it went off 27 times. That is excessive and very dangerous as if I turn the system off in the car it will disable the safety features on the car because it can’t detect my eyes at that time even though I am staring at the car in front of me. It does it in any type of weather, any time of day, and if I’m wearing my prescription glasses, sunglasses or anything. I am filing this complaint regarding a safety-related windshield defect on my 2025 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring. My vehicle is included in Lincoln/Ford recall 25C60 (NHTSA 25V730), which involves windshields manufactured with air bubbles in the laminate layer that can impair visibility and violate FMVSS 205 – Glazing Materials. Although my windshield does not show the “large air bubbles” d
... escribed in the recall, it has a different but significant defect: visible distortion when sunlight hits the glass. This distortion creates a warped, uneven visual field that interferes with my ability to see clearly through the windshield during normal daytime driving and is a distraction. The problem is consistent and repeatable under direct sunlight. The dealership inspected the vehicle but refused to replace the windshield because it does not match the exact bubble-related condition described in the recall. However, FMVSS 205 prohibits any glazing defect that impairs driver visibility, not only bubbles. The distortion I am experiencing clearly affects visibility and therefore presents a safety concern under the same federal standard cited in the recall. Based on the recall description and the nature of my defect, it appears possible that my windshield was produced using the same manufacturing process or materials that led to the recalled windshields. My issue may represent an additional manifestation of the same underlying defect. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue as a potential related safety defect and consider whether the recall population should be expanded to include windshields exhibiting distortion rather than only those with visible bubbles. I can provide photos or video demonstrating the distortion in sunlight.Read more

Loss of engine power, engine noise. I am submitting this complaint regarding Ford Motor Company’s handling of an active safety recall affecting my vehicle and its failure to complete recall-related repairs after directing me to a dealership for evaluation. I previously filed a complaint with NHTSA regarding this safety issue. Following that complaint, Ford Motor Company contacted me and instruc

The vehicle remains at the dealership and has not been returned to me in a repaired or operable condition. After the vehicle was brought to the dealership, Ford Customer Service opened Case # [XXX]. I was advised in writing by a Ford representative that the matter would be escalated and that a supervisor would contact me on or about December 30, 2025. No supervisor ever contacted me. I waited almost two weeks beyond the promised date and followed up by email with no response. When I later contacted Ford Customer Service by phone, I was informed that my case had been closed. I was not notified in advance of the closure, was not provided any written explanation, and the promised supervisory review never occurred. At the time the case was closed, my vehicle remained at the dealership and the recall issue had not been resolved. I am requesting that NHTSA review Ford Motor Company’s handling of this matter to determine whether Ford is complying with its own published recall bulletin and service guidance for this specific recall number, including required inspection, escalation, and resolution procedures. I relied on Ford’s recall bulletin and representations when bringing my vehicle to the dealership. The vehicle experienced vibration symptoms and stalled on the road. The day before it stalled, there were rattling noises which prompted me to take the car to the dealership the next day. I had just received the letter about the recall so I knew it was likely related. The car was towed to the Acura dealership but the dealership denied recall coverage, stating the engine number did not match the
... recall list. During the discovery process, it was later discovered that the engine had been swapped by the dealership in 2018 — a fact that was not disclosed to me at the time of my purchase. The installed engine still falls within the recall defect interval of 2015-2020 but they are resistant to repair. Upon initial inspection of the vehicle, the dealership found metal shavings in the oil indicating internal engine damage. The manufacture requested my oil change records suggesting that this was my fault. I presented the oil change receipts but they still refused recall coverage and the dealership requested approximately $5,000 for diagnostics, if determined my fault. If it is determined that the defect damaged the engine, they will cover the 5k. After several weeks of inspection and going through the manufacture recall process, the dealership determined the recall issue applies my car. However, due to the engine number not on the “list” they are denying my recall coverage. They are seeking $25k for service repairs. After almost 2 months of back and forth, I have been misled and misinformed. I am struggling to get my car repaired under recall.Read more

The A/C condenser on my Honda failed and leaked out all of the refrigerant, which subsequently caused the A/C compressor and related components to fail. This issue is well‑documented, and Honda has issued an extended warranty specifically for the condenser due to its known defect. My vehicle was inspected by an authorized Honda dealership, and they confirmed that the condenser failed and that th
... e resulting loss of refrigerant caused the compressor to generate metal shavings. These metal particles can circulate through the HVAC system, potentially entering the cabin and posing a health risk to the driver and passengers. Despite the clear causal relationship and the dealership’s findings, Honda is refusing to replace the failed compressor and associated components, even though the failure originated from a part they acknowledge as defective and have extended warranty coverage for. There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure. The A/C system stopped functioning without any advance indication, leaving me without proper ventilation and climate control. This defect raises both mechanical reliability concerns and potential health and safety risks due to metal contamination within the HVAC system. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue further, as Honda’s refusal to cover the full scope of damage caused by their known defective condenser leaves consumers exposed to unnecessary safety hazards and significant repair costs.Read more
