I had 2 recalls on my 2018 Ford Explorer and when I was finally notified parts were available for both I took to dealer to have them both fixed. Ford fixed the recall (rear suspension toe link - 26S08/26V101) but could not completely repair the other A Pillar Trim recall (24S08/26V101) because they said parts were not available. My letter clearly states they were. Ford ripped off my A pillar trim

Prior to August 2024, this vehicle operated with zero check engine lights or drivetrain faults. In August 2024, BMW of Pittsburgh executed federally mandated Safety Recall 23V-707, which required opening the cylinder head. Immediately following this service, the Check Engine Light began illuminating persistently. On or about October 3, 2024, an independent diagnostic scan at Bobby Rahal BMW pulled
... BMW Factory Code 002A89: Exhaust VANOS Camshaft Mechanism Fault (Mechanical Sticking/Flow Restriction). Technicians at Bobby Rahal BMW explicitly instructed me to return the car to BMW of Pittsburgh because they suspected the original VANOS safety recall repair was botched. On October 28, 2024, I returned the vehicle to BMW of Pittsburgh to address this issue. Their technicians opened the engine block assembly a second time, yet failed to correct the defect. Following this second visit, the check engine light continued to come on intermittently. The vehicle began suffering rough idling, difficulty starting, and dangerous stalling events during operation. Cycling the ignition on and off provided only temporary relief. The check engine light has now become permanently illuminated. The safety hazards have severely escalated into a protective engine "limp mode," causing violent drivetrain shuddering and a catastrophic loss of driveability. BMW of Pittsburgh refuses to honor the recall workmanship, demanding a predatory $6,000 out-of-pocket teardown fee to bypass their liability. The manufacturer (BMW North America) has been notified under Case Reference VH78028, but the safety defect remains unaddressed, and the vehicle is completely unsafe to drive.Read more

On January [Insert Date], 2026, my 2024 Ford Escape suffered a sudden turbocharger failure that saturated the vehicle’s internal HVAC system with toxic ethylene glycol coolant. The inhalation of these toxic chemical vapors posed an immediate, life-threatening risk to my
... pregnant wife and myself (a patient with moderate persistent asthma), backed by formal medical warning letters from our OB/GYN and Pulmonologist. When I refused to take delivery of the un-remedied vehicle, a Ford corporate representative mandated that I drive it anyway, stating that if I suffered a respiratory crisis while operating the vehicle, I should simply "call the ambulance". This ultimatum caused an immediate severe hypertensive crisis (160/112 BP), requiring emergency medical transport to CHI Health Immanuel and cardiac evaluation. This represents a critical component failure causing toxic cabin air contamination, compounded by a complete failure of the manufacturer’s remedy. Ford Engineering and Woodhouse Ford Service admitted in writing that they have NO scientific test to verify cabin air safety and NO official technical procedure to decontaminate the internal HVAC housing following this chemical saturation. Ford’s only attempt at a remedy was an external spot clean and a simple filter replacement, leaving toxic residual chemicals inside the blower housing. Ford's directive to operate a chemically contaminated vehicle without any scientific validation of air safety constitutes an extreme, ongoing non-operational safety defect that risks public safety. To protect my family from severe injury, I was forced to abandon the vehicle at a massive financial loss.Read more

The affected paint failure exposes underlying surfaces and may reduce long-term corrosion protection of the body panels. No warning lights or messages appeared prior to the issue. The vehicle remains operational, but the paint defect appears to involve loss of adhesion of the factory-applied paint system rather than normal cosmetic wear or isolated rock chips. I am filing a safety complaint regarding a defective diesel emissions system and persistent warning condition in my 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Diesel vehicle that presents a serious safety hazard to myself and others. The vehicle was purchased from Ewing Buick GMC in Plano, Texas, [XXX] and was advertised as being in good condition and ready for sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle ap
... peared to have undergone preparation and inspection-related services, which gave the impression that it was safe and roadworthy. Dealer informed me of no inspection being performed. Shortly after purchase, the vehicle began displaying persistent emissions-related warnings (DEF system / engine warning). I initially had the vehicle inspected, and serviced for repairs by Royse City Auto Care, where diagnostic information indicated emissions-related faults. Due to the seriousness of the issue, the vehicle was then taken to an authorized Land Rover service center for further diagnosis. Land Rover technicians indicated that potential causes may include a knock sensor or related module failure; however, they stated that these repairs are not guaranteed to resolve the issue. The warning condition remains active and unresolved. The vehicle now presents a critical safety concern. The emissions system warning includes a mileage countdown that will eventually prevent the vehicle from being driven once it reaches zero. This creates a dangerous situation where I may be unable to operate the vehicle at all, potentially leaving me stranded in unsafe conditions. Additionally, the vehicle may enter reduced power mode (limp mode) or experience loss of power while driving. These conditions significantly increase the risk of an accident, especially on highways or in traffic. As a result, my safety and the safety of others on the road are put at risk. I purchased a 2023 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid 2023 on December 15, 2023, and since early ownership I have experienced persistent jerking/clunking while slowing to a stop, harsh downshifts, hesitation during braking, and rough transitions between electric and engine power. The issue was first documented around 5,744 miles and continued through approximately six to eight repair/work orders, where dealer
... ships repeatedly described the condition as normal hybrid/DCT behavior while performing software resets, adaptive relearns, and diagnostic checks. After continued complaints, Hyundai Techline became involved and the dealership concluded the vehicle “jerks pretty bad,” leading to a full transmission replacement under warranty. Despite the transmission replacement, the issue persisted and the dealership later confirmed slight clunking during downshifts and discovered a torn engine mount, which was also replaced. The dealership additionally noted that the issue did not occur while driving another Elantra Hybrid or the loaner vehicle, suggesting the condition was specific to my vehicle. I also opened a case with Hyundai Motor America Consumer Affairs regarding the recurring defect and repeated failed repair attempts, but the issue continues despite major drivetrain repairs. Hyundai Motors America Consumer Affairs has not been able to help me with this either. They also didn't provide me with the Federal Agency number when I requested them in order to reach out and seek help from the agencies. Hyundai didn't help me in any way. There were no warnings. They have been able to reproduce the issue but do not want to resolve the issue. The vehicle has experienced ongoing electrical and safety-system related malfunctions shortly after being purchased as an INFINITI Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in April 2025. The issues initially included flickering interior and exterior lights, intermittent door lock malfunctions, and other electrical irregularities. In June 2025, I received notification through the INFINITI app regarding a major
... engine recall involving engine bearing failure concerns affecting my vehicle. I brought the vehicle to Harte INFINITI for inspection regarding the recall and my electrical concerns. During that visit, dealership personnel acknowledged there were multiple vehicles experiencing similar engine bearing issues related to the recall. Despite my concerns, I was told the vehicle was “safe to drive” because no diagnostic codes were present at that time. The problems continued to worsen over time. On February 26, 2026, during a routine oil change shortly after expiration of the basic warranty, I was presented with approximately $2,600 in recommended repairs despite previously being told there were no issues with the vehicle. Most recently, the vehicle developed Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) malfunction warnings and Lane Assist malfunction warnings involving critical driver assistance and collision-avoidance systems. These warnings raised serious concerns regarding the safe operation of the vehicle because they involve systems designed to help prevent collisions and maintain vehicle control. I was concerned that these systems could fail unexpectedly while driving, potentially increasing the risk of an accident or injury to myself, passengers, or others on the roadway. The vehicle was returned to the dealership for inspection, where I was presented with an additional repair estimate exceeding $4,600 along with diagnostic charges. Despite the active safety-system malfunction warnings, I was again advised that the vehicle was safe to drive.Read more

[XXX] U.S. Army), Active-Duty Service Member (Stationed at Fort Knox, KY / Residing in Brandenburg, KY) I am reporting a severe structural manufacturing defect involving the room slide-out assembly on the driver-side flank of the vehicle body. Certified diagnostic testing and structural tolerance layouts executed by the component manufacturer, Lippert (LCI Case #[XXX]), and servicing dealership t
... echnicians (Camping World) have confirmed that the main slide-out housing and framing elements were installed, aligned, and integrated completely out of structural tolerance directly at the Thor Motor Coach assembly plant during production. This structural defect constitutes an uncorrectable manufacturing deviation. Because the slide-out mechanism is fundamentally misaligned within the main load-bearing sidewall of the motorhome, it repeatedly binds, undergoes severe component stress, and fails to close or seat flush against the secondary seals. Operating a 11,000lb+ commercial-chassis motorhome with a structurally out-of-tolerance slide-out housing introduces substantial safety hazards to public highways: Catastrophic Unintended Deployment: The mechanical stress and structural warping prevent the locking mechanisms and gear teeth from seating safely. Vibration at highway speeds risks structural latch failure, which could result in a partial or full unintended slide-out deployment while traveling at high speeds. Because the slide-out frame cannot close symmetrically, the structural integrity of the main driver-side wall is severely degraded. This creates asymmetrical aerodynamic drag and hazardous crosswind vulnerability, risking dynamic instability and potential vehicle roll-overs or lane-drift. In the event of an evasive driving maneuver, the shifting, misaligned mass of the slide-out can cause unpredictable chassis twisting and severe stability control failures, endangering my passengers and sharing motorists. While driving down the road my passenger went to open the sunroof. That involves retracting the shade first. While the shade was retracting I heard a pop and then a crunching noise. The shade then drooped into the back seat area blocking any vision to the rear of the vehicle. It also was quite startling and distracting while driving. Contacted the dealer and set an appointment to get it looked at.
... Brought the vehicle in for its appointment about a week later. Was notified that a trim moulding ( part # LJ6Z5450036A) that was held up by two sided tape fell off and caused the shade to jam up and break. The moulding had fallen off with the shade closed so there was no way to know it had failed. Was initially quoted $2500 to repair it. The vehicle was less than 60 days out of Ford’s 3 year 36000 mile warranty. I even have a Ford 8 year 75000 mile extended warranty but was told that trim pieces were not covered by warranty. I asked the dealer to contact Ford to ask for assistance in paying for the repair. Ford came back and offered to repair it for $498.38. I authorized that repair and received the vehicle back. Shade is now functional but it appears that there has been no improvement to the moulding to keep it from having a repeat failure. If the moulding had fallen with the shade open it could have possibly struck an occupant and caused issues if driving.Read more

I have been patient for more than a year, but the lack of progress and communication has left me with serious concerns. I expect prompt attention to this matter and a concrete plan to resolve the recall as soon as possible.Read more
