Transmission. Transmission has very rough, "jerky" shifting when downshifting and upshifting. There was a bad 'jerk" when downshifting from 5 to 4th gear. Dealer acknowledged the problem and provided a transmission software upgrade. The problem was somewhat alleviated but the transmission still exhibited rough shifting, both down and up shifting. More concerning occasionally, when turning a c
... orner and coasting, sometimes the vehicle would surge ahead moderately because of shifting. Some criticism state that the brakes will "grab' occasionally. I originally assumed that this problem was the brakes, but after some experience realized that the rough and "jerky" shifting was responsible. I've owned many cars over my 80 years, and this is, by far, the worse performing transmission that I've experienced.Read more

We had the recall repair done on the start/stop feature on our MDX and it seemed to work initially. But recently the feature has caused the vehicle to stall at intersections again as it did before. It’s happened at least 3 times in the last six months with the most recent occurrence being on 1/20/2026. These occurrences happen despite the fact that we try to remember to turn off the feature when
... we start our trip. Each occurrence has stalled the vehicle at a traffic light in rush hour traffic. It’s very frightening and we are lucky that it hasn’t caused an accident or gotten us shot! We live in Texas (funny but not).Read more

I have a 2016 Ford Escape SE with the Ecoboost engine. I have been experiencing the same issue with misfires in port 4 which also shows an open circuit every time as well for over the past year. The dealership has replaced everything underneath including but not limited to my spark plugs, wires, coils, and even my entire wiring harness. The issue is still happening and they do not know what is cau

It has been to the dealership for the same repairs over 8 different times. When is enough actually enough. I have lost power several times in traffic and it's like slamming on my brakes. This is how bad the misfire is. My check engine light has been flashing due to this issue as well as being on solid. Please help or advise.Read more

We were driving on interstate at 70 mph. It was sunny and 45 degrees outside. Suddenly with no warning, our front sunroof glass exploded. The bang was so loud that my ear was ringing hours after. Fortunately no car was following closely so no other vehicle was hit with flying debris. Also, our interior visor was closed so we were not struck by any of the flying glass. We pulled off and removed any
... loose glass that could fly off and proceeded to the dealership. They were submitting warranty information, etc. and provided a rental while we await the repairs. They did mention they had seen this before in a case where the visor was not closed and glass poured into the cabin and implied that it was a worse case than ours.Read more

Took my car in for some minor hood issues the week after buying it. While there the dealership pulled it out of the shop, parked it in the lot with the other vehicles they had worked on. They called me and told me they were going to call me and let me know my 2025 Nissan Rogue was ready to pick but when they went out to move it close to the door the back windshield was shattered.

Turned on the car to the find the check engine light was on. Drive 5 minutes to my son’s school to pick him up. Turned the car off, then back on to see if maybe the check engine light would go off. Instead the check engine light, battery light and service hybrid charging system errors appeared on the dash. THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OFF AND I WAS UNABLE TO PUT IT IN GEAR AT ALL. It left me stranded.
... I called a tow truck and about 10 min before they were set to arrive I tried turning it off and on again and it started like normal (check engine light still on) Drove 5 min home and it did it again in my driveway. Happened again when my husband started it to take a look. This happened to us one other time about 3 months after we bought the car. We’ve only had it 9 months. Both recalls have been completed. I received the 2022 Hybrid Ford Maverck XLT on March 2023, and had first 12V battery replacement on August 2023 as it was dysfunctional leading to car stalling. On 01/11/2026, the truck suddenly got stalled during drive due to the dysfunction (8.0V) again of the 12V battery, which triggered several error codes. The 12V battery was replaced again on 01/12/2026. I drove the truck home and found lat

The truck was then diagnosed at local Ford dealer as: "multiple accessory / entertainment modules have software level that may be contributing to 12V battery drain / degredation". Obviously, this is the truck defect can may pose catastrophic risk to driver and surrounding drivers. I searched Google and found more 2022 Maverick with such serious issue! My total cost of repair and towing from this defect is $1145.11. Thank God that my family was safe during the sudden stalling while driving. I know there is no such recall but Ford should be responsible for the recall to avoid future risks and paying off my cost. Please consider this as a recall! Thank you!!!Read more

Component Failures: Frame outriggers failed twice with broken welds and severe bending. Front bedroom emergency exit window detached during highway travel 1/20/26, struck RV and adjacent vehicle before shattering. Main entry door repeatedly opens during travel since 7/25, worsening. Floor sagging in multiple locations. All available for inspection except missing window. Safety Risks: Window detac
... hment created highway projectile, potential damaged third-party vehicle. Door opening risks items ejection. Frame failures risk collapse, rollover, or trailer separation. Floor deflection indicates compromised integrity. Continuous sawdust shows ongoing deterioration. Professional Confirmation: Yes. Lippert (authorized facility) repaired frame 11/25/25 (Work Order WO-00230680, Case 6354938): re-welded outriggers, I-beam heat treatment, cross member re-welding, jack reinforcement. Same components failed after only 3,400 miles with worse damage, proving systemic defect. Manufacturer Inspection: Lippert inspected/documented failures per WO-00230680. Owner expressed concerns about re-welding compromised components; technician assured repairs would hold. Assurances proved false. Grand Design notified concurrent with this complaint. Warning Symptoms: No electronic warnings. Physical symptoms from purchase (8/24): continuous sawdust at floor/wall junctions, slide trim detachment with violent popping (mid-25), door opening (7/25), roof seal separation (9/25), outrigger failures (11/25, 1/26), window detachment (1/20/26). Progressive deterioration indicates fundamental frame design/manufacturing defect. Conclusion: Recurring catastrophic failures, failed repairs, and window detachment demonstrate systemic defects posing immediate danger. Vehicle unsafe. I purchased a new 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan (VIN [XXX] ) on December 9, 2025. On January 18, 2026, with 1,243 miles, the closed sunroof suddenly shattered as I slowly backed out of my indoor garage. There was no debris, no storm, and no outside impact. I took photos immediately, including wide and close‑up shots; none show any impact point. I reported the incident to Brookdale Volkswagen the same d
... ay and sent my photos. The dealership submitted a warranty request, but Volkswagen denied it as “outside influence,” without identifying an impact point or providing written inspection notes. I requested evidence supporting that conclusion, the VW case details, and a physical inspection with written findings. After the car was towed to the dealer, the service manager sent a new photo labeled a “rock chip.” This mark does not appear in any of my original photos taken immediately after the shattering, before towing. The dealer referenced VW Tracking [XXX] and repeated the denial. Volkswagen Customer CARE later issued a formal denial and directed me to BBB AUTO LINE for dispute resolution. No external cause was present; the vehicle was indoors and stationary. No impact point appears in my original photos, and the later “chip” only appeared after the vehicle left my possession, so it is not reliable evidence of pre‑existing damage. Tempered roof glass can fail spontaneously due to manufacturing or installation stress, making this a warranty‑covered defect absent proof of impact. I am requesting warranty coverage for replacement of the panoramic sunroof assembly and related interior cleanup or repairs, written inspection findings and all photos used to support any continued impact claim, and reimbursement or coverage of reasonable costs tied to the failure. I am filing this claim through BBB AUTO LINE, and a related NHTSA complaint is being filed to document the safety concern. After checking this, I was told that the vehicle needs new shocks and that the tires show wear. I was further informed that the tires will not be covered. This caused: •Pelvic fracture •Broken femur, hip, and back •Collapsed lung and punctured liver •Foreign object from the seat mechanism punctured pelvic bone The failure directly contributed to life-threatening injuries that would not have occurred if the seat had remained securely anchored. The malfunction posed an immediate risk of death and permanent disability. Not yet reproduced under controlled conditions. The incident has been documented by police and medical personnel. The vehicle is currently in a tow yard, and we have not had access to it, but it remains available for inspection by Hyundai, NHTSA, or a qualified service center Police: Yes, crash scene documented. •Insurance: We are unsure whether the insurance company has inspected the seat. The vehicle remains in the tow yard and has not been repaired or altered. •Manufacturer (Hyundai): Not yet inspected; formal inspection requested. The vehicle and seat are preserved and ready for inspection by Hyundai, NHTSA, or other qualified representatives. There were no warning lamps, messages, or prior symptoms of seat failure. The seat functioned normally prior to the crash, and the malfunction occurred only during the impact, demonstrating a sudden and catastrophic failure under crash conditions.Read more

I am requesting executive-level review and assistance regarding a documented paint failure on my 2022 Toyota Tacoma, finished in paint code 040 (Super White). Toyota has informed me that my VIN is not included in Customer Support Program #XXX. However, this determination does not align with the physical condition of my vehicle, which exhibits the same defect described in that program. The paint on
... the upper door frame surrounding the driver’s side rear cab window is actively peeling, with bare metal exposed. This is not cosmetic wear, environmental damage, or owner neglect. It is a manufacturing paint failure, occurring in a non-wear area and consistent with issues documented on other 2022 Tacoma vehicles with Super White paint. Exposed metal presents legitimate concerns regarding corrosion, long-term durability, and diminished resale value—none of which should occur on a vehicle of this age. Toyota’s reputation for quality is the reason I purchased this truck, and this experience has been both disappointing and frustrating. I am requesting that Toyota acknowledge the defect based on physical evidence, not solely VIN eligibility criteria, and provide a fair resolution, including inspection and repair or repainting of the affected area. I respectfully ask that this matter be escalated for review and resolution consistent with Toyota’s commitment to customer satisfaction and product quality. My 2023 Ford Explorer ST has rolled while parked, turned off, and in Park, with the electronic parking brake engaged. This has occurred multiple times on my residential driveway, which has an approximate 20-degree slope, during light snow conditions. On one occasion, the vehicle rolled backward down the driveway and into the street after being parked and shut off. On another occasion, it rolled f
... orward while parked in the same location. In both cases, the vehicle stopped on its own without driver input. The dashboard indicated the vehicle was in Park, and the electronic parking brake had automatically engaged. This behavior is inconsistent and occurred in both directions, which raises concern that the parking pawl and/or electronic parking brake is not reliably holding the vehicle. Snow may reduce traction, but a properly functioning parking system should prevent a parked vehicle from rolling, especially into the street. After the December 14, 2025 incident, the dealer was contacted and they replaced the parking pawl. The subsequent incidents occurred on January 14, 2026 while both rear facing and forward facing. This appears to be a vehicle rollaway safety defect and presents a serious risk of collision, injury, or property damage. The vehicle has not been modified, and this occurred under normal parking conditions. I am reporting this issue due to the safety risk and concern that the parking system may not be functioning as designed. I do have a video is of the December 14, 2025 incident when the vehicle was unoccupied, parked, turned off, and in Park, with the electronic parking brake engaged.Read more

Water entered the passenger cabin of my vehicle during normal rain exposure while the vehicle was parked overnight. The failure occurred at the roof glass/seal system, allowing rainwater to intrude into the interior behind the second-row seating area and soak the carpet and underlying padding. This resulted in persistent moisture and a strong musty odor inside the cabin, consistent with microbial
... growth and mold risk. The condition affects interior air quality and poses a potential health risk to vehicle occupants, particularly children or passengers seated in the rear. Prolonged moisture inside the cabin also raises safety concerns related to corrosion and possible impact to electrical components, sensors, and restraint systems routed through the interior floor area. The condition substantially impairs safe and normal vehicle use. The presence of moisture and microbial odor makes the vehicle unsuitable for passenger transport and creates uncertainty regarding the integrity of interior and electrical systems. The issue was inspected and confirmed by the manufacturer’s authorized service center. The service center documented that water intrusion occurred through failed or missing sealant around the roof/door glass assembly and confirmed saturation of interior carpet and padding. The manufacturer recommended replacement of interior padding for safety reasons but declined responsibility due to the vehicle being outside the basic warranty period. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to discovery. The issue was identified after rain exposure when wet carpet and odor were observed. The problem is reproducible under rain conditions. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.Read more

I am writing to formally a repeated mechanical failure involving the HVAC evaporator systems in two Volvo vehicles that I purchased within a few months of each other. The vehicles involved are: • 2019 Volvo XC90 T6 Momentum VIN: [XXX] Purchased: November 2024 • 2020 Volvo XC60 T5 Momentum Purchased: January 2025 Within a six months apart, both vehicles suffered complete air conditioning sy
... stem failure due to large evaporator leaks. In total, three evaporators have now been confirmed as leaking across these two vehicles. The 2020 XC60 experienced evaporator failure in May 2025 and required full evaporator replacement under its CPO warranty. The 2019 XC90 subsequently developed the same issue. After multiple independent inspections and a full diagnostic performed by Volvo, they have confirmed that both the front and rear evaporators were leaking. The total repair estimate exceeds seven thousand dollars. Despite the statistical improbability of two vehicles purchased months apart suffering identical HVAC system failures within months of ownership, Volvo Cars North America denied my goodwill assistance request. The denial was based solely on the fact that a prior owner of the XC90 had previously received an unrelated goodwill repair. I was not informed of this at the time of purchase and had no connection to that prior claim. I then filed a complaint with the BBB against Volvo Cars North America. Volvo did not respond at all. The BBB has now formally closed the case and recorded that Volvo failed to respond to the complaint. I have acted in good faith at every step. I paid for diagnostics. I provided complete documentation. I pursued proper escalation channels. I sought resolution through the BBB. Volvo has remained silent. This is not an isolated service matter. It reflects a potential systemic defect affecting multiple Volvo platforms and model years. The repeated evaporator failures raise serious concerns as far us intaking large freon amounts. This prevents the driver from easily monitoring or comforting the child and has caused driver distraction during highway travel when the child becomes distressed, creating a foreseeable safety risk. Toyota states it is “preparing the remedy” but has provided no repair timeline. After multiple contacts and escalation, I was told it could take up to 60 days with no interim solution. Toyota suggested contacting dealerships for a loaner but advised that an equivalent vehicle was unlikely, availability was uncertain, costs might need to be paid upfront with later reimbursement, and the duration would be open-ended. This is not a reasonable interim safety solution while continuing to pay full lease obligations. I was also informed that returning the vehicle would require paying approximately $15,000 in negative equity, which I believe is unreasonable given that the safety defect and usage restrictions are due to a manufacturer recall. Toyota has not provided a repair timeline, a reasonable interim transportation solution, or a penalty-free way to exit the lease. I request that NHTSA review whether Toyota is meeting its obligations under federal safety recall requirements. The error message “Power Tailgate Problem” appeared on the dash. Following the error message, the power tailgate stopped working. It would not open or close with the remote, the button on the dash, or the button on the tailgate itself. I discovered water had been leaking in the tailgate and the trunk area of my vehicle as well as the back seat that was folded down in storage had gotten soaked.
... I took my van to the service center and they told me it was the seal above the door and that the leak had ruined the power module controlling the door. They repaired the issues. That was in April 2025. The same thing happened last week (January 2026). After looking into the error message and the tailgate problem, I’m finding that the door may open or close at any time on its own. The water in the electrical module may also start a fire. I have two small children and this van is our primary vehicle. I’ve reached out to the dealership from which I purchased the van, I reached out to a local Honda dealer and I contacted Honda customer service and no one is willing to fix this issue. I will be required to pay out of pocket again. I’m requesting a recall on this defect in design.Read more

I sent a letter to the Hyundai Motor America LEGAL DEPARTMENT on 2 Jan 25. I see this as a major concern and safety problem for my grand kids, my family and myself. My car is a 2015 Hyundai Genesis VIN#: [XXX] four door sedan. The back left side passenger door coupler and handle have broken off the car between April and August 2025. I’ve called and spoken with the Hyundai dealership in Colonial
... Heights, VA about fixing the back coupler and handle. The Hyundai dealership informed me that all they needed to do is to order a new back door coupler and have it painted. After that, then they will call me once they’ve received the back door coupler and have it painted. Once everything is done, they will give me a call to schedule an appointment to have the back door coupler and handle to be put back on the left side passenger car door. I’ve scheduled the appointment to have the back door coupler and handle to be put back on the car. Everything was completed. Now, the back right side passenger door coupler and handle have broken off in December 2025. I’ve called and spoken with the Hyundai dealership in Colonial Heights, VA about fixing the right side back door coupler and handle. I’ve went through the same process above in getting the right side back door coupler and handle to be put back on. The Hyundai dealership informed me that all they needed to do is to order a new back coupler and have it painted. After that, then they will call me once they’ve received the back coupler and have it painted. Once everything is done, they will give me a call to schedule an appointment to have the back coupler and handle to be put back on the right-side of the passenger door. I informed them that I will be scared if I’m in an accident, and I can’t get my grand kids or family out of the car because of the couplers and handles are broken off and the safety lock is on. I asked if there was a recall on the car for the door couplers or if there was a permanent fix or not? NO! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ARead more

The power moon roof components are made from plastic, which over time have cracked from sun exposure. When the rail system cracked, it caused the sliding glass panel to become loose and rattle around while driving. It also allows water to enter the inside of the vehicle when it rains, causing damage to electrical components.

I am submitting this complaint regarding a manufacturer safety recall affecting my vehicle that has not been remedied and is creating a safety concern. My vehicle is subject to NHTSA Safety Recall 25V-586 (Alfa Romeo Recall 93C) involving a defective fuel pump / fuel delivery module that may cause loss of drive power while driving. I contacted an authorized Alfa Romeo dealership, and they confir
... med that my vehicle is affected by this recall. However, the dealership informed me that Alfa Romeo has not yet released a final repair remedy and therefore they cannot perform the recall repair at this time. I contacted Alfa Romeo Customer Care and was advised that the dealership could run diagnostics and potentially perform a temporary or interim repair related to the fuel pump issue. When I relayed this information to the dealership, I was told that I would be required to pay out of pocket for parts and labor and wait for reimbursement once Alfa Romeo releases a final recall solution. I do not believe it is appropriate or compliant with safety recall requirements for a customer to be required to prepay for parts and labor related to a confirmed manufacturer safety defect. This recall involves a loss of engine power, which poses a safety risk while driving. At this time, no no-cost repair, interim fix, or alternative transportation has been offered, and I am being placed in a position where a known safety defect remains unresolved unless I pay out of pocket. I am requesting NHTSA review this matter, as the recall has been acknowledged but not properly supported with a no-cost remedy or alternative solution for the affected consumer.Read more

The issue involves the high-voltage battery system and charging system on my 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The vehicle was previously subject to Recall 95B, which addressed high-voltage battery safety concerns and was performed by an authorized Jeep dealership. After that recall, the vehicle later experienced additional hybrid system issues, which required replacement of the charging port due to battery
... -related faults. Most recently, the vehicle was brought to the dealership for Safety Recall 68C, which addresses potential internal battery cell failure that may lead to overheating or fire. During the recall procedure, after the required software updates and diagnostic testing, the vehicle failed the 68C recall. The dealership confirmed that the high-voltage battery must be fully replaced. The vehicle has been out of service since January 6, 2026 and remains at the dealership. A STAR case was opened with Stellantis, but the dealer has confirmed there is no estimated time of arrival for the replacement battery and no estimated time to repair the vehicle. The battery is available for inspection upon request. This defect poses a serious safety risk, as the recall involves potential battery overheating or fire, including when the vehicle is parked. I was advised not to charge the vehicle and to park away from structures prior to repair. The issue has been confirmed by an authorized Jeep dealership and acknowledged by the manufacturer, but the safety defect remains unresolved due to the lack of an available remedy. Due to the unresolved safety recall and lack of an estimated repair timeline, I have been unable to use the vehicle while continuing to incur lease payments and insurance costs. The vehicle is not in my possession and remains out of service solely due to a manufacturer-acknowledged defect. This ongoing loss of use and financial burden has not been addressed.Read more
