I received a recall on my 2022 ford f150 vehicle stating that the wheel end hub bolt in the rear axle may become loose or break. Continued use of the vehicle can cause damages to other vehicles and/or cause crashes. I tried to have this repaired when I received a recall notice back in November 2025 but they were unable to help. I dropped my vehicle off on 1/6/26 for recall repair and they are tell
... ing me there are no parts available and won't get a new update letter until 4th quarter 2026.I did ask about providing a rental in the meantime they immediately denied my request. At this time I do not feel safe removing my vehicle from the lot or driving it. I spoke with Earl at Ford Recall Assistance Center on 1/23/26 (ref call number: [XXX]) . I can not go without a vehicle, this is absolutely unacceptable and I am submitting this complaint and will be moving forward with legal counsel. I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2021 Jeep Renegade. In cold weather, the driver’s door will not latch shut and can open by itself while driving. The door may appear closed but fails to remain secured, creating a significant safety risk. An authorized Jeep dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed moisture intrusion affecting the latch and release cable. They recommended rep
... lacement with updated components. This failure aligns with Stellantis Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 75567, which addresses latch issues. I have opened a case with Stellantis (case #95335285) and have repeatedly sought resolution. However, I have been unable to obtain help or speak with a case manager, leaving the issue unresolved. No repair has been performed yet. Since a door that does not remain closed is a serious safety risk, I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in reviewing this safety concern. Thank you for your attention.Read more

**Upon request, all failed components can be inspected anytime for any reason. From this date (01/23/26) forward. If any repairs or replacementa had been rectified by Ford, receipts of the repair(s) will be provided regardless. I cannot recall exactly when these issues started so my ball park is 5/11/22. That is literally 2 years of driving the car from the show room. I was getting some lights
... on my dash that I have lost all functions with the vehicle ...ie: drivers assistance, airbags, up hill decent, pre- collision, no driving modes and the car felt normal. I was still under warranty so the repair that was done was an update to the BCM (is what I am told.) So the mechanic did a reprogram to the module. About a year I noticed I was then getting check headlamp notification pin my dash. I check the lamps and all seemed to be just fine. Also I was dealing with a dead battery all the time. at least once a month. But I was told I needed to drive the car more often. No matter still getting a dead monthly battery and here and there "check headlamp". Approx last year 2025, I realized. it was really dark driving the SUV. I get out and long behold the low beam headlamp was out. Played with switches..nothing. Checked into just getting a new one. its is a STAGGERING 1.5K!!!!PER HEADLamp! Well, the cops pull me over 4 times. For a headlight with LEDs why am I even having to price this? This Platinum trim just h I 5 years old and I cant believe all the problems. Along with that I found that this is considered something for the owner has to replace due to owners maintenance. No. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED. THE DEAD BATTERY. WELL...I know am out of all warranties to the vehicle AND FORD IS SHUTTING THE DOOR IN MY FACE for any "goodwill repairs" (So far) As of this very moment, I have a dead 2020 Ford Platinum Explorer. Heads Lamp is still out. Yet there is a recall on a backup camera. Complete joke and this is literally disappointing.Read more

This unit is a cutaway Sprinter converted to a class C RV by Dynamax Corporation. I discovered a propane leak and in tracing it down, found that Dynamax had run their main propane delivery over a flexible hose. This hose was improperly protected from being damaged by poor installation process in that the hose was strapped to a cross member under the unit without consideration to protecting the s
... heath. I have just over 20K miles on this and the main sheath has a pinhole caused by it rubbing against a sharp edged metal cross-member. The cross-member is directly under the passenger compartment exposing us to fire and gas exposure. This danger could have easily been avoided by either putting a protective sheath between the hose an the cross-member, or plumbing the entire length with black pipe. I consider myself fortunate that this leak did not present itself while driving down the road. I have attached pictures of both the cross-member where the gas line is strapped down and the pinhole in the gas line (verified with a propane tester).Read more

I own a 2024 Jeep 4xe in Alabama with approximately 9,000 miles. The vehicle was towed to a dealership due to safety concerns related to active recalls, including Recall 68C involving the high-voltage battery, as well as a second engine-related recall for which no remedy has been issued. The vehicle was checked in and a repair order was opened. Dealer diagnostic notes indicate trouble codes rela
... ted to the high-voltage system, coolant heater, and EVAP system, and state that certain components “need to be replaced.” Despite this, I later received a text message stating the vehicle was “ready for pickup,” even though active safety recalls remain and it was not clearly communicated that the listed components were replaced. Because these recalls involve potential fire risk and high-voltage system faults, I do not feel the vehicle is safe to operate, especially with children riding in it. The vehicle has remained at the dealership for almost 2 weeks with limited communication. I am currently paying for a rental vehicle out of pocket while awaiting reimbursement from Stellantis, with no clear timeline for repayment or confirmation of continued coverage. Attempts to obtain updates from both the dealership and Stellantis case management have often gone unanswered. I am submitting this complaint due to unresolved safety concerns, extended vehicle downtime, unclear repair status, and financial impact related to rental transportation.Read more

My 2017 Lincoln MKZ experienced a sudden and severe engine failure consistent with the known Ford/Lincoln coolant intrusion defect affecting 1.5L, 1.6L, and 2.0L EcoBoost engines. While driving, the vehicle began losing coolant with no visible external leak, followed by rough running, misfires, and complete engine shutdown. The vehicle became inoperable and had to be towed to a Ford dealership. At
... the dealership, technicians were unable to start the vehicle at all, and could not even pull it into the service bay to perform diagnostics. The service department told us the symptoms match the known coolant‑intrusion issue documented in Ford’s Technical Service Bulletin 19‑2346, which applies to 2017–2019 2.0L EcoBoost engines. They advised us not to pay for diagnostic testing, because the failure pattern is already known and documented by Ford, but not covered under any recall. They referred us to Lincoln corporate. Lincoln corporate then informed us that they have no programs available to assist with this defect, even though it is a known issue. They stated that even if a program existed, they “wouldn’t be able to assist with even half the cost.” They also suggested that we consider installing a junkyard engine as a more cost‑effective option. This was their only recommendation for a catastrophic engine failure caused by a known defect. This is extremely concerning for a safety‑related failure. The symptoms match Ford’s documented defect exactly: • Coolant loss with no external leak • White smoke prior to failure • Engine misfires and rough running • Overheating • Engine unable to start • Potential for engine seizure or fire This is the same failure pattern described in recall 25V685 and the January 2026 recall, which involve coolant intrusion, overheating, and fire risk in similar Ford/Lincoln engines. My VIN is not included, but the failure mode is identical. My vehicle is now completely disabled due to this defect, and Lincoln has refused any assistance.Read more

**Subject:** Request for Investigation – Dodge Durango Taillight Water Intrusion and Safety Hazard To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally request that the National Highway Transportation Administration (NHTSA) investigate a widespread and potentially dangerous manufacturing flaw affecting Dodge Durango vehicles. Both my vehicle and a significant number of other Dodge Durango owners h
... ave experienced a recurring issue where water enters the taillight assembly. This intrusion causes the taillights to malfunction, resulting in the lights going out unexpectedly. This defect not only compromises vehicle safety by reducing visibility and signaling capability, but also poses a risk of further electrical damage. In some cases, owners have reported concerns about potential electrical failures and even fire hazards due to water exposure within the taillight housing. Given the prevalence of this issue among Dodge Durango owners, I strongly urge the NHTSA to conduct a thorough investigation and require the manufacturer to address this defect. Importantly, any corrective action should be provided at no out-of-pocket cost to affected vehicle owners, as this is a clear manufacturing flaw that impacts safety and reliability. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your response and to seeing appropriate action taken to protect consumers and ensure vehicle safety. Our Jeep has a nation wide battery recall (2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe) and we brought it in to be fixed. They said that it will take 6 weeks - months (they dont know) when the updated battery will be ready. In addition, we received a notice from Chrysler a few weeks ago that asked to ensure we had updated our deductibles and coverage specific to fire. I am filing a safety complaint regarding a dealership-provided loaner vehicle that had an open safety recall at the time it was issued to me. On Tuesday 1/20, I received a loaner vehicle from Beaver Toyota in Saint Augustine, Florida while my personal vehicle is being held due to a recall. The loaner was a 2025 Toyota Sienna. I was not informed of any safety recalls at the time the vehicle was pro
... vided. Late that evening, I discovered that the loaner vehicle had an active, unresolved safety recall listed as open through NHTSA. The recall was active while the vehicle was in my possession. After discovering the recall, I attempted to contact dealership management multiple times regarding this urgent safety issue. On 1/21, I contacted the General Manager through the dealership’s website. I also called the dealership on Wednesday at 1:37 PM and left a voicemail for the General Manager. I did not receive a response. On 1/22 at 12:24 PM, I called again and left another voicemail. I then followed up with an email requesting a return call due to the safety concern. As of this evening 1/22, I have received no response. Providing a loaner vehicle with an open safety recall, without disclosure, placed me and other occupants at unnecessary risk. I am requesting that NHTSA review this matter for recall compliance and appropriate corrective action.Read more

My wife and I were driving to the dealer to have a safety recall service performed on her Jeep Wrangler 4XE. We had just merged onto the highway, I was in my car, behind my wife in her Jeep. Less than a mile onto the highway, my wife suddenly slowed down and moved to the right lane. As she moved over to the right lane, I saw her front tire violently wobbling back and forth. We slowed down to 3
... 0mph on the highway and after approximately 30 seconds the problem seemed to resolve. We limped our way to the exit (about another mile) and to the dealer about 1/4 mile off the highway. When my wife got out of the car she was still shaking, rattled by what had just happened. When we described what happened to the service center they responded "oh, you had the death wobble." After some research, I watched several videos about the death wobble, which confirmed what I had just seen. What if my wife had panicked and pulled over into another car in the right lane? What if she was on a small 2 lane highway and veered off the road and down an embankment? There were no warning lights or messages on the vehicle indicating any problem prior to this happening. This happened with ZERO warning and was terrifying to watch, let alone my poor wife experiencing first hand. The Jeep dealership has run diagnostics and report it is a bad steering damper. More than 3 weeks later the car remains at the dealership, awaiting repair of not only that, but also the safety recall fix for the hybrid battery. Communication from the dealership has been vague and suspicious in my opinion. They repeatedly have said they are waiting to hear from jeep on what to do next. My research indicates a previous class action suit relating to this "death wobble" issue on previous models. How does something this dangerous still happen on a 2023 model car with 19000 miles in 2025. I'm shocked at how casually the dealer and manufacturer have addressed this issue.Read more

Vehicle: 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Issue: Infotainment system failure after GM‑pushed OTA update Description of Problem: On 10/31/2025, my vehicle’s infotainment system attempted an over‑the‑air software update. The update failed and the screen has been locked ever since, displaying only the message: “Update Failed – Return to Dealer.” As a result: - I cannot access any settings (cloc
... k, preferences, system menus). - All warning chimes and signal sounds (turn signal click, seatbelt reminder, back seat reminder, etc.) are disabled. - The backup camera still functions, but no other infotainment features are usable. - The system is completely unresponsive to reset attempts. I brought the vehicle to a Chevrolet dealer, who verified that it was the OTA update that caused the failure, they attempted a reflash but was unsuccessful. They now claim the entire infotainment unit must be replaced at my expense, even though the failure was caused by GM’s own update which I neither approved, initiated, or requested. My vehicle is out of warranty, but this was not a wear‑and‑tear issue — it was introduced by GM’s software. Safety Concern: The loss of audible warnings and chimes poses a safety risk. Drivers rely on these alerts for seatbelt reminders, turn signal confirmation, and other critical notifications. A manufacturer‑pushed update disabled these among other functions including radio, navigation, and all vehicle settings. Resolution Attempts: - Dealer attempted reprogramming on 11/6 (charged $295) but failed and state I need a new infotainment system. - GM Customer Assistance refused to provide goodwill coverage. - Vehicle remains stuck in failed update state as pictured. Request: I am submitting this complaint because GM’s OTA update disabled core safety features of my vehicle along with other basic features such as radio. I believe this is a manufacturer defect that should be investigated and addressed, regardless of warranty status.Read more

Ford does not have the parts to repair my car; my rear camera gets fuzzy at times
Incident date: Mar 30, 2024
I purchased this vehicle new in June 2020. Since January 2022, it has experienced recurring water intrusion into the passenger cabin during heavy rain. Water leaks from the ceiling around the overhead console near the front reading/map lights. During heavy rain, water pools and causes the interior lights to turn on unexpectedly while driving. Generally, the lights cannot be turned off or immediate
... ly reactivate, creating a safety hazard at night. Water also drips onto the infotainment screen and center stack controls. To try to protect interior electronics, I have used absorbent materials to cover the center stack while parked and to wipe water while driving, which is distracting and unsafe. The issue has occurred repeatedly over multiple years and is reproducible. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by authorized Audi service centers. Repairs have included cleaning sunroof drain tubes, replacing sunroof seals and adhesive pads, installing updated components, and water leak testing. Technicians confirmed water in the sunroof stowage tray and drains, and light malfunctions were attributed to water entering the cabin from the sunroof. Despite these repairs, the water intrusion continues to recur annually. During the most recent inspection, standing water was found in the rear sunroof drains, and sunroof removal and reinstallation was recommended but not covered. Service personnel confirmed the vehicle was properly maintained and not misused. The vehicle has approximately 17,000 miles. Primary symptoms are water dripping from the headliner and unintended activation of interior lighting while driving. Affected components include the sunroof assembly, drains, overhead console, and interior electrical systems. Other owners have reported similar issues, and multiple NHTSA Technical Service Bulletins acknowledge water entry from sunroof drains and seals. When I contacted Audi of America, I was informed that multiple complaints had been received, even that week.Read more

The vehicle and the defective screen are currently available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk This failure created a safety risk because the backup camera is required for safe reversing, especially when pedestrians, children, or objects may be behind the vehicle. Without a functioning screen, visibility is significantly reduced, increasing the risk of a collision, property damage, or injury while backing up. My 2020 Kia Soul is suffering catastrophic engine failure from a known safety recall defect involving the piston oil rings. I received a safety recall notice from Kia on July 5, 2021 warning that defective piston oil rings could cause engine damage and engine fires. Now, despite having complied with both recall repairs, my engine is knocking, burning oil, losing power, and the check engine light is blinking. The vehicle has stalled in traffic, creating a serious safety risk. I am afraid to drive it due to the risk of engine failure and fire. The Kia dealer is now telling me the engine needs to be replaced at a cost of $5,000 or more, or I must replace the vehicle. They claim the recall was already performed and the vehicle is no longer under warranty, even though the same recalled defect has now caused engine failure. This appears to be a defective and ineffective recall remedy that did not correct the safety defect and has resulted in dangerous engine failure.Read more

The car has not yet been to the dealer to be seen but will be soon. I found many reports
... of this same thing in the same models and years on reddit and other places on the internet.Read more

Hello. I started hearing this noise on my car, it was distracting and found it that it only happens when my headlight is turned on. I believe that the headlight leveling motor went out, I have an appointment for next week to have it checked, but the more i reach out to others Mazda drivers, the more I hear this is a common issue. My car is brand new, well taken care of, this seems to happen a lot.

I have been dealing with a sweet/Christmas-like smell in my car occasionally for the last several months. This is a health & safety concern for me involving ethylene glycol fumes in the cabin. These fumes could be linked to why I have experienced increased sinus headaches over the past several month. I took it into CarMax (where I purchased the vehicle) and they were able to diagnose the issue a
... nd state that my heater core needed to be replaced. However, since my vehicle was under 36,000 miles, it needed to go to the dealer. The dealer that has been working on the vehicle is Hendrick Hoover Chevrolet. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer twice already and they have not been able to diagnose it the same as CarMax nor recreate the smell. Both times I have picked up the vehicle, I smelled the same thing within 1 day of having the vehicle back. Today (1/22/26) I took the vehicle back to CarMax to have them take it to the dealer for the THIRD because I have not only smelled the same smell, I have 2 new issues that need to be addressed. They are not the reason for this complaint, however. But for documentation purposes, it involves servicing the safety restraint system and error codes P0018 and P0021. I do not have any records of the first time I took the vehicle to CarMax/Dealer in November of 2025, but I have attached the records from the latest visit where I dropped the vehicle off on 12/10/25 and picked it up on 1/14/26.Read more

I am the owner of a Thor Sequence 20K RV built on a 2022 Ram ProMaster 3500 chassis, purchased new in Florida. My vehicle Vin [XXX] is subject to safety recall # 25V-720 involving a potential engine fire- compartment fire risk. There is no repair or remedy currently available and no timeline has been provided by the manufacturer. Because of the fire risk, the vehicle is unsafe to operate. In add
... ition the open safety recall has rendered the vehicle unsellable and untradeable, causing substantial loss of value and use through no fault of my own . Dealers and sale platforms refuse to accept the vehicle due to unresolved fire risk recall. The vehicle is a RV which increases the severity of safety risk due to fuel, electrical systems and living components. I am requesting NHTSA to review due to ongoing safety hazard and lack of manufacturer resolution. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Component: Federal Safety Certification Label (49 CFR Part 567). Available for inspection. Summary: Vehicle was manufactured and sold brand new without the mandatory Federal Safety Certification Label. The omission was discovered during a professional trade-in inspection when the representative showed me where the label was supposed to be, but was missing from the car. The vehicle is currently no
... n-compliant with federal safety standards, rendering it unmarketable. Confirmation: The manufacturing omission was confirmed by a review of historical authorized dealership service records. Photographs taken of the door jamb during routine service prove the label was never present. Symptoms/Warnings: There were no warning lamps or symptoms. I was never informed of this non-compliance by the manufacturer or authorized service centers during routine maintenance. Manufacturer Response: The manufacturer was contacted immediately via phone, email, customer service chat, and in-person to rectify the omission. However, the manufacturer failed to provide a resolution within the window of a time-sensitive trade-in valuation and tax credit package, causing the offer to expire. In subsequent communications, the manufacturer refused to remedy the non-compliance without charge, demanding payment for the label and labor in violation of 49 U.S.C. § 30120. The vehicle remains unmarketable and unused.Read more

On December 15th, 2025, in Bradenton Fl, I was changing a tire in front of my house's parking area. I removed the tire and properly installed the car's original jack in the correct location on the vehicle. After about a minute, the jack collapsed, and the entire vehicle, along with the rotor, crushed my right foot. I couldn't get it out and had to scream for help because of the terrible pain. Afte
... r several minutes, some neighbors tried to help me, but it wasn't until about 10 minutes later that a man and his son came to my aid and used their jack to lift my vehicle. An ambulance picked me up, and at the hospital, I was treated for several lacerations and a deep wound on my heel that required eight stitches. After I got home, I looked at the jack, and it was marked with a maximum weight capacity of 2866 pounds. I compared this to the vehicle's manual, and it didn't match the weight of the front axle, which is heavier. This means the jack was not suitable for supporting the front of my car, and this is why it caused me serious injuries to my foot, as well as fear, anxiety, and significant medical bills. I need help with my case, please!Read more
