On the date of purchase, while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle’s hood opened unexpectedly, obstructing my visibility and causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and enter a ditch. State Police responded, and the vehicle was towed immediately. This incident presents a serious safety defect. The is vehicle is certified by Mercedes Benz and purchased from Mercedes Benz Dealer.

Our vehicle became unable to shift out of neutral after a traction event (wheel slip & loss of traction) when trying back into our driveway from a snow packed access alleyway then multiple system warnings occurred including transmission, traction control, ABS, engine ECU, stability systems and anti-roll errors. I turned off the car and tried again with vehicle still unable to shift out of neutra
... l with the multiple system warnings again occurring. I turned the vehicle off for a longer duration (10 minutes) while calling the service department at the dealership asking if our car should be towed. I turned the vehicle on again and it did go into drive and reverse but the check engine light displayed. Remote start no longer functions. Failsafe modes are NOT supposed to leave the car unable to shift out of neutral without warning! The fact that it threw multiple system errors at once, refused to shift, then later shifted after a longer power-down, and now has a check engine light strongly suggests a stored hard fault, not just a transient glitch. From a safety and regulatory standpoint, loss of motive control without driver input amounts to a reportable safety defect. If this didn’t happen while trying to park in my driveway, it could’ve been much worse. If this had happened in traffic, while pulling into an intersection, on a hill, during a snowstorm, or while backing into traffic, the inability to shift could have caused a collision. I did report this to VW customer care and they immediately escalated this to a case manager. The vehicle was dropped off to the dealership this morning and will be discussing the event with the service manager on Monday and that I want all stored fault codes printed, confirmation whether this triggered limp/failsafe logic, and what prevents it from happening again. The VW case manager will also be contacting the dealership directly. The bottom line is that I do not feel safe operating this vehicle until the root cause is identified. Read more

Incident ~ 5:40 pm, Geneva NY Weather ~ 10 F, not snowing. Background. On or shortly after being started, the vehicle had exhibited prior incidents of extremely rapid engine acceleration not initiated by the operator. Most recently the day before. The incident: I was in the process of very slowly parking the vehicle in a narrow laneway, and positioning the vehicle behind and in line of one other
... , both parallel to the laneway, in a small area that had been cleared of snow, leaving the laneway open. First, I stopped the vehicle opposite of the parked vehicle's driver side door. Second, I reversed and backed up and positioned the vehicle behind that vehicle. This involved firmly stepping on the brake to stop the vehicle once well behind the parked vehicle. Third, while keeping my foot firmly pressed on the brake pedal, I moved the shift from reverse to forward. At that time, the front wheels were still fully turned to the left. Immediately on completing the shift to forward, my vehicle made a very rapid acceleration. My foot had remained firmly on the brake and had not touched the accelerator pedal. Despite my foot being firmly pressed on the brake pedal, my car surged forward, retracing the path that I had followed while backing up. I could hear the noise of the accelerated engine, and feel the fighting of the brake as the car surged uncontrolled for about four feet and then finally stopped. My foot had been fully depressed as hard as possible on the brake the entire time and did not touch the gas pedal at all. The owner of the parked vehicle observed the incident and expressed concern since the surge was dramatic, and stopped with the right corner of the front bumper of my car within a couple of inches of the left corner of the parked vehicle. The driver's car mat was in the correct position and did not interfere in any way with the operation of the vehicle. I did not inadvertently step on the accelerator. No warning lamps or messages. Cause Unknown.Read more

Immediately after delivery, the instrument/infotainment display malfunctioned, froze, and became unresponsive. Apple CarPlay failed, and phone calls distorted or dropped. After reporting the issue, I discovered that this VIN is subject to Safety Recall SC359B, with a recall date of December 17, 2025, and a status of RECALL INCOMPLETE / NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. This recall existed prior to the sale.
... The recall is confirmed by the Kia owner app, Kia/NHTSA VIN lookup, and the dealer’s internal campaign report. Despite this, the dealer stated in writing that there were “no open recalls” and refused to unwind the sale, mischaracterizing the defect as an “audio panel” issue. I am submitting this to document a retail delivery of a new motor vehicle under an open, VIN-specific safety recall with no available remedy, which constitutes a violation of federal motor vehicle safety law (49 U.S.C. §§ 30112 and 30120). The air conditioning system in my 2020 Honda Civic EX has a refrigerant leak at the evaporator assembly, causing very weak or almost no cooling even when set to the lowest temperature settings. This happens consistently, including in moderate to hot outside temperatures, making the cabin uncomfortably warm during drives as it could get pretty hot in inland southern California. The A/C evaporator a
... ssembly is the failed component, and the part remains in the vehicle available for inspection if requested. This issue creates a safety risk because reduced visibility from window fogging in humid or rainy conditions (due to lack of proper dehumidification and cooling) can impair safe driving. In extreme heat, it also increases driver fatigue and distraction from discomfort. The problem was confirmed by a Honda dealership through diagnostic testing, which identified the evaporator leaking refrigerant. They previously repaired a related condenser leak under warranty, but the cooling issue persisted and was later traced to the evaporator. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership (manufacturer-authorized) on multiple occasions for this A/C concern. No specific warning lamps or messages appeared on the dashboard related to the A/C system. This appears to be part of a broader pattern reported by owners of similar 2016-2021 Honda Civics, where condenser failures (sometimes covered by extended warranty) are followed by evaporator leaks, possibly related to the vehicle's use of R-1234yf refrigerant and system pressures. I recently received partial goodwill assistance from the manufacturer toward repair costs, but the issue highlights a recurring defect in the A/C system that affects cooling reliability. This car is driven by my 20 years old daughter as a commuter car to college and she is really suffering. I feel I am putting her at risk and need to get it fixed ASAP at whatever cost.Read more

I’m thinking there’s a bad PCM, TCM or BCM in this model and it just hasn’t been mentioned yet. Historically, Ford says it’s the spark plugs often and other issues and take several times to fix the issue. Last time it has a shut off problem, they tried two different things before replacing a solenoid somewhere and it lasted for a while up until now. While simply driving 75mph (speed limit during time of incident) on the highway, i heard a loud explosion sound and the sunroof had completely shattered and was blown upwards. ... les present that would require braking -No warnings, alerts or messages on screen -Occurs randomly, nothing to indicate braking is needed -Most recent incident, on flat, familiar road, clear, temperate weather, no obstacles, car unexpectedly braked after accelerating from traffic light, fell out of gear and would not go back into gear for several minutes, resulting in near rear-end collision with multiple vehicles behind that did not expect sudden stop while accelerating. Eventually car would drive a short distance then hard brake, slip out of gear, not be able to drive. This was repeated 4 times before finally being able to drive without failure. -Audi inspected, could not reproduce the issue. It occurs very randomly, so it’s difficult to reproduce on demand. -No fault codes were found or stored -Dealer said without being able to reproduce it there was nothing to be done. I asked for TAC case to be opened for assistance. They strongly refused but eventually agreed. Case was opened but immediately rejected (within minutes). Later they said it was rejected for missing info, including location of incidents, which they never asked me for and I could have provided. I would like to formally file a safety complaint regarding my Chevrolet vehicle and to express concern over Chevrolet’s handling of a known defect. On January 22, while driving to work in cold weather conditions, my vehicle experienced a sudden and dangerous malfunction. The engine unexpectedly revved to approximately 4,500 RPM, the check engine light illuminated, and the dashboard displayed an
... “Engine Power Reduced” message. Despite removing my foot from the accelerator, the vehicle did not slow down as expected. I was able to pull over to the side of the road and bring the vehicle to a stop. I immediately contacted my local Chevrolet service department and was advised to bring the vehicle in six days later, the following Friday. Due to the safety risk, we did not use the vehicle during this time out of concern for a potential accident. When the vehicle was inspected by the Chevrolet dealership, we were informed that Chevrolet had identified this issue as being related to cold weather operation and that a custom shield had been designed to address the problem. We were also told that Chevrolet vehicles were not adequately designed for cold weather conditions, which led to this failure. Despite this acknowledgment and the fact that Chevrolet has engineered a corrective part, we were informed that the repair—costing approximately $1,600—is not covered under our extended warranty, as the shield was not installed on the vehicle at the time of purchase. The vehicle remains unsafe to drive. When accelerating, engine RPMs surge from approximately 2,500 to 4,000 RPM, and the vehicle can suddenly decelerate, creating a serious risk of rear-end collisions if a following driver is forced to brake abruptly. This issue represents a significant safety hazard. Chevrolet has acknowledged the defect by creating a corrective part, yet is declining to cover the repair cost, leaving the responsibility with the customer for a known design issue. Please let me know my next stepRead more

I have had my DEF system in my 2025 Ram 2500 Freeze twice now, I live in an area that drops below 12 degrees in the winter. I took it to the dealership the first time and they said the whole thing was frozen solid. I had to pay $365 since it is not covered under warranty for them to completely thaw it out and put new DEF in the tank. 7 days later it froze up again. The Service DEF System message s

the rear manual tailgate has opened 3 times while the vehicle was at highway speeds and the doors would be locked. the latest incident happened on 1-30-26, at highway speed (70mph) the tailgate opened completely without warning. the indicator on the dash did light up and an alarm did sound. I had been on the road approximately 10 miles without incident before that. this was the third time this
... happened, although the first two the door did not completely open, only became unlatched but stayed shut. all three times were mornings that were extremely cold. (below -1 F) each time i made sure there was no ice or snow or other object in the way of securely closing the tailgate. even if there were, the door would not be closed from the onset and the dash warning should have indicated the door was not completely latched.Read more

This is a complaint of Sheridan Ford in Wilmington DE specifically refusing to complete the recall without my paying out of pocket. Manufacturer Recall Number24S59 NHTSA Recall Number24V684 was left incomplete because they demanded I pay for a "diagnostic" fee on a known safety issue - this dealership is taking advantage of a saftey recall that is required to force customers to pay

I purchased a 2023 Chevy Tahoe in Oct 2025. Since then, I have been trying to figure out how to set up the myChevrolet app. The OnStar button doesn’t work so I called OnStar. After multiple calls, they told me that the account is linked to the previous owner and can’t be transferred because of a faulty telematics communications module. The faulty module is also causing the clock to run slow, w
... hich indicates battery drain is beginning. The OnStar module failure poses a huge safety and privacy risk. Safety concerns include battery failure that can cause me to be stranded and the fact that the previous owner has the ability to start my vehicle at any time, even while parked in my garage posing a risk to my family’s health/life with trapped carbon monoxide building up. Privacy concerns include the previous owners ability to track my vehicle, lock and unlock doors, access my contacts, call log, location, and more. This is a significant risk. The dealership should not have sold me a vehicle with a defective module without repairing it and now refuse to fix it. This should have been included in GMs factory recall for 2023 Tahoe TCU’s or a new recall should be issued. Consumers should not bear the burden to fix a widely known safety, health, and privacy risk.Read more

When I drive over 65 mph, I feel the car lose stability, and sometimes I feel those movements in the steering wheel. Also, it doesn't show the actual tire tread depth. In addition. And there is a burning smell.

Reversing in our driveway, backing in with the trailer to store it. Backing up hill, the truck stopped moving. I applied additional pressure to the accelerator to get the truck moving again. The truck lurched backward suddenly enough that the rear tires broke traction loudly. Before I could stop the truck, the trailer struck the corner of the house, causing significant damage.

Rear windshield exploded without anything to promote this. There was not any rocks or pebbles that hit it, the glass just shattered.
