My 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 lost all power and stopped in the middle of a busy road. I had no power even when I pressed the gas. Nothing in the car worked, including the hazard lights, which made it even more dangerous as cars were speeding past me. I was finally able to call the police to come help and they set up a safe area. However, I was put in an unsafe situation while I waited for assistance fr
... om the police. In addition, there was no way to put the car in neutral once the power was off (at least I couldn't find a button or a switch to do that), which made it difficult to get it towed. I understand the car died on me because of faulty ICCU on my car. Btw, the car had just finished its software update earlier that day. I am not sure if this somehow contributed to the ICCU failure.Read more

For approximately two weeks, this vehicle exhibited intermittent, uncommanded steering wheel "tugs" and erratic Lane Keeping Assist behavior. During a U-turn on 1/25/2026, the vehicle struck a curb. While I cannot definitively isolate driver input from system input during the maneuver, the vehicle immediately entered a "fail-safe" state, triggering a cascade of specific error codes: Electronic Sta
... bility Control (ESC) Fault, Front AEB Unavailable, Highway Assist Inoperative, and Intelligent Speed Adaptation Inoperative. These errors are directly tied to the ADAS/ADCU systems currently under NHTSA Recall 25V559, which identifies a defect where the system provides "sudden steering inputs that are difficult for the driver to override" during turns. The dealership VinFast Lisle is acknowledging these recall-related errors are present but is refusing to cover the resulting physical damage, quoting a repair cost of over $2,100 + taxes. I am reporting this because the manufacturer should not be able to dismiss a collision that occurs while a vehicle is actively suffering from a known, federally-recalled steering defect. I request that the NHTSA investigate whether this hardware damage is a consequence of the software failure.Read more

Sunroof window exploded and shattered the whole glass
Incident date: Jan 15, 2026
Summary of the Safety Defect The passenger-side window of my 2024 Winnebago Era 70X fell out of the vehicle. The window detached from the frame and separated from the RV while the vehicle was stationary. This failure represents a serious safety hazard, as the window could have fallen out while driving, potentially causing injury to occupants, other motorists, or pedestrians. Winnebago has acknowl
... edged the issue but has stated that the replacement window is on backorder with no estimated timeline. The vehicle cannot be safely operated without this window. Details of the Incident The passenger-side window unexpectedly detached from the RV. The window assembly appears to have failed at the adhesive or mounting points. This failure could have resulted in the window falling out at highway speeds. The defect compromises structural integrity, weather sealing, and occupant safety. The RV has been unusable since the incident. Manufacturer Response Winnebago Customer Care has stated: The window is “still on backorder.” No estimated date for replacement is available. They have not provided a temporary fix or safe-operability guidance. This leaves the vehicle in an unsafe, non‑operational condition. Why This Is a Safety Concern A window detaching from a motor vehicle is a critical safety defect because: It can detach while driving and strike other vehicles or people. It exposes occupants to road debris, weather, and potential ejection hazards. It compromises the structural integrity of the vehicle’s sidewall. It prevents safe operation of the RV. Requested Action I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this defect to determine whether: The window detachment is part of a broader pattern among Winnebago Era models The adhesive/mounting system is defective A recall or corrective action is warranted I am also requesting that NHTSA document this incident as part of its safety defect database.Read more

After operating the vehicle normally and backing into a parking space, I stopped the vehicle and selected Park, turned the vehicle off, and exited. Before the driver’s door was closed, the vehicle began to roll forward unexpectedly. I ran back to the vehicle and reentered it to regain control, with the driver’s door still open and the seatbelt not fastened. After stopping the vehicle, I selec

The open driver’s door struck another vehicle and the driver, and my vehicle continued backward, colliding with a fence and then a tree. The vehicle did not behave as expected after Park was selected, creating a serious safety risk to myself and others. Several vehicle systems appeared to malfunction or fail during the incident. The specific component or system responsible is not yet known, and the vehicle is currently available for inspection. The incident resulted in property damage and back pain, for which I later sought medical care. The vehicle has been inspected by a collision repair facility and is currently being handled through insurance. The manufacturer has been informed and stated that insurance should make determinations regarding the incident.Read more

I am sending this email to report that my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado had its rear brakes lock up momentarily on consecutive days (1/13/26 & 1/14/26) driving 70-72 mph. Each occurrence came on without warning and only lasted a brief moment, but locked up hard enough for my rear wheels to screech and slam me forward in the truck, thankfully there were no other vehicles near me. I took the truck t
... o the dealership first thing in the morning on 1/15/26 to be informed later that day that the truck didn't show any codes. The service department at my dealership contacted the TAC Dept. at GM and they determined that the problem was caused by the brake light wiring from my truck topper (that was after they asked if the customer had added any accessories to the truck). I have had the topper for 3 years without any issues. I reached out to the company that installed the topper and the owner said that GM is giving me the run around and trying to point the blame elsewhere. He himself has installed 100's of toppers and they follow the wiring instructions from Leer Toppers. He did a 30 second Google search and said [XXX] , the problem you have experienced is well documented online, GM knows what the problem is with your truck". My truck was at the dealership for 5 days before they released it to me, even after I told them that there are known and documented cases of their trucks experiencing momentary rear wheel lockups. I have called GM Customer Service twice and left messages regarding my truck and TAC # and haven't received a return call. I am fearful that when this happens again and if it does so in the wrong place at the wrong time the end of this story may be tragic. If I was pulling a trailer, driving on ice or in rush hour traffic I can't imagine the outcome. GM knows they have a serious problem and they is comfortable in releasing a dangerous truck back onto the roads. The mobile app will not connect, preventing charging monitoring or battery pre-conditioning in cold weather. Charging frequently fails to initiate or stops prematurely. Level 2 (slow) charging often stops after only 5–10% of charge is added but is unpredictable. Even when charging on a level 3 charger, the vehicle often charges to random levels below 80% (the level to which the vehicle is sup
... posed to charge). DC fast charging is slow and often struggles to reach 40%-50% within a reasonable time. Charging equipment often reports significantly more energy delivered than vehicle displays. This has occurred at multiple charging locations (and multiple chargers). The vehicle’s range has been severely reduced. The vehicle’s range is dramatically less than it used to be. The battery is often drained and needs to be recharged in less than 100 miles. The vehicle often loses power. This is inconsistent, but when it happens, I am only able to get the vehicle moving at a very slow pace, which was not the case previously. I have contacted the selling dealer multiple times and Volkswagen directly. Charging-related issues have continued to worsen.Read more

Vehicle has widespread software/electronic failures affecting driving and safety systems. Failures cause erratic, loss of information while driving, unintended systems activation, and loss of emergency services. While operating the vehicle during routine driving, multiple safety-related electronic systems malfunction. The instrument panel and center display intermittently go completely blank whi
... le driving, removing speed and warning information. The vehicle has shifted into Park on its own while stopped at traffic lights (with the driver seated and seat belt fastened). Cruise control activates without driver input. Voice control activates repeatedly without pressing the steering-wheel button. Intermittent, but significant loss of propulsion power has occurred while driving. The backup camera intermittently remains on while driving forward and backup sensors intermittently fail. GPS location is severely inaccurate, the dynamic road sign display does not function, and the Emergency Call (SOS) system does not function. Car will not connect to the app, leaving many functions unavailable, including the ability to condition the battery before driving in cold conditions. Many of these issues have occurred multiple times over the course of the vehicle's history, but Volkswagen was able to fix many of these issues for a time. The date I have input below represents the approximate time the issues started to reoccur. NHTSA COMPLAINT - 2026 BMW X3 WINDSHIELD DEFECT Our brand new 2026 BMW X3 has experienced two complete windshield failures within six weeks of purchase. Both windshields spontaneously cracked from the perimeter bonding edge with NO rock strikes or impacts: ∙First failure (Week 3): Crack from driver-side A-pillar edge ∙Second failure (Week 6): Crack from top horizontal edge near rearview mirror
... Critical Pattern: Both cracks originated from different points along the windshield-to-body bonding periphery, indicating a systemic defect in the entire bonding system, not isolated damage. Safety Risk: This violates FMVSS 212 windshield retention requirements. Risks include: windshield detachment during crashes, airbag deployment failure, sudden visibility loss while driving, and water intrusion causing electrical fires. Key Evidence: BMW has already recalled FOUR related 2026 models for identical windshield seal defects: ∙Campaign 25V556: X5/X7 (1,406 vehicles) - improperly sealed windshields ∙Campaign 25V671: X4/X6 - same defect The X3 shares the same platform, manufacturing facility, and production timeframe but was excluded from recalls. Statistical Impossibility: Two spontaneous windshield failures in six weeks with zero impacts on a new vehicle cannot be coincidence. Normal defect rates are <0.1% annually. Dealer Confirmation: BMW dealer confirmed and replaced first windshield. Second failure proves systematic defect. Request: Investigate whether 2026 X3 has the same defect as recalled X4/X5/X6/X7 models and expand recalls accordingly. Given traffic conditions on I-70, this failure could easily have resulted in a major accident. The vehicle was undrivable and had to be towed to Flatirons Land Rover in Colorado on January 25, 2026. On January 26, 2026, after I had to repeatedly follow up with the dealership, I was informed that the failure was caused by a defective component related to the battery/electrical system. Although the repair is covered under warranty, the required part is on backorder, and I was advised the vehicle will be out of service for approximately six weeks. I am submitting this complaint to report a potential safety defect with the windshield glass on my 2025 Subaru Forester. Since purchasing the vehicle in May 2025, I have experienced repeated windshield damage that seems excessive and abnormal for a new vehicle. Within the first two months of ownership, the windshield developed a rock chip. Approximately three months later, I experienced another r
... ock chip that spread into a larger crack when I attempted to have it professionally repaired. Then, approximately two months after that, the windshield developed a large crack that is not repairable and requires full replacement. In total, my windshield has failed three times in less than one year of ownership under normal driving conditions. I have never experienced this frequency or severity of windshield damage with the cars I have owned in the past. This pattern suggests that the windshield glass may be unusually fragile or improperly designed for normal road conditions. The windshield is a critical safety component that supports the vehicle’s structural integrity and ensures proper airbag deployment. Repeated cracking raises serious concerns about occupant safety, visibility while driving, and the vehicle’s crashworthiness. I believe this may indicate a manufacturing or design defect in the windshield glass used in the 2025 Subaru Forester and warrants investigation before more drivers are affected.Read more
