Vehicle: 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro VIN: [XXX] This vehicle is subject to a fire-related battery recall issued by Ford Motor Company. The vehicle has been at an authorized Ford dealership (West Herr, New York) since December 26 for recall repair. As of today, it has been out of service for 53 days. The dealership has stated that the delay is due to EV battery lift capacity limitations and that
... my vehicle is waiting behind another truck because they only have one lift capable of performing the repair. No firm repair completion date has been provided. For over seven weeks, I have received no proactive communication from the dealership regarding repair status. All updates have required me to initiate contact. This complaint is being filed to document prolonged failure to complete a fire-related safety recall due to dealership capacity constraints. Dear Commissioner and DMV Officials: I am writing to formally address a serious financial and safety concern affecting vehicle owners in Connecticut. As a driver with over 50 years of experience—32 of those in CT—I have never experienced rodent damage to any vehicle until purchasing my 2023 Hyundai Tucson. Since acquiring this vehicle, I have suffered thousands of dollars in damage from rodent
... s chewing through the wiring and wire housing. Multiple mechanics have confirmed this is due to manufacturers switching to soy-based and plant-derived biodegradable materials in wiring insulation. These materials are effectively edible, attracting rodents year-round—not just in cold months. This is not owner negligence. The root cause is a material deficiency in the vehicle's manufacturing. Consumers should not bear the financial burden of a known design choice made by the automaker. Repairs are costly, often excluded from warranties, and frequently not covered by insurance. I respectfully request the Department: Investigate the scope of rodent damage complaints linked to bio-based wiring in newer vehicles. Coordinate with NHTSA to evaluate whether this constitutes a safety defect warranting a recall. Advocate for regulatory standards requiring rodent-resistant wiring materials. Urge manufacturers like Hyundai to offer warranty coverage, reimbursement, or retrofits for affected vehicles. I am prepared to provide documentation of my repair expenses upon request. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am reporting a serious vehicle safety concern involving my company-leased 2024 Lincoln Nautilus Black Label. The vehicle was damaged while in the custody of the dealership (Tasca Lincoln). The damage was not minor cosmetic damage and involved replacement of a door assembly. The dealership returned the vehicle to me after repair in approximately two (2) days, but I was provided no safety document
... ation at all, including no written proof of what parts were installed, no proof whether the replacement door was new or used, and no documentation confirming that the vehicle was restored to factory safety standards. This vehicle contains advanced safety systems integrated into the doors and surrounding structure, including side airbags, crash sensors, wiring harnesses, blind spot monitoring, and other electronic safety systems. I requested documentation confirming that these safety systems were properly inspected, calibrated, and functioning correctly after the repair, but I was provided nothing. Because the repair involved a major door replacement and the vehicle was returned in only two days with no verification of airbag, sensor, or safety system calibration, I do not believe the vehicle is safe to operate. I have not been driving the vehicle due to fear that the airbags or crash detection systems may not function properly in an accident. I contacted both the dealership and Ford/Lincoln corporate customer service seeking assistance and safety verification, but neither provided help or documentation, and I have been unable to obtain any proof that the vehicle’s safety systems were properly inspected or calibrated after the repair. Ford Lincoln Corporate had no knowledge of this, until I spoke to them. They denied my claim. This is a company lease vehicle, which creates additional safety and liability concerns. I am requesting NHTSA investigate the repair and the dealership’s failure to provide documentation confirming the vehicle is safe after structural repair.Read more

... oor locks. I'm at Nissan Mentor today (02/17/2026) for evaluation & repair. (Odometer 15,200) Both of these door lock issues resulted in inability to enter/exit vehicle. Very dangerous if someone were unable to exit vehicle in emergency. Otherwise a big inconvenience requiring one to climb over other seats to enter/exit vehicle. The car is under extended warranty. June 2025 I paid $100 deductible plus tax & fee, totaling $110.21. Today's repair cost to be determined. In each incident there were no warning lamps or messages. Both issues began with intermittent lock/unlock failure, then escalated to complete failure within 2-3 weeks. This has caused several inconveniences of not being able to enter the vehicle through the effected doors. And now the second incident again requires waiting for repair. In the first instance with rear door there was a wait of several weeks for the needed replacement parts. I anticipate the same delay with the front door repair. SUBJECT: Engine → Stall → Loss of power while driving: While driving normally, the vehicle began losing power and could not accelerate properly. The engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle repeatedly entered a reduced-power condition where it could barely maintain speed. The vehicle would stall while driving and then restart after sitting. This occurred multiple times over a period o
... f time and progressively worsened. The engine also began consuming large amounts of oil between oil changes. Eventually the engine suffered catastrophic failure and would no longer run. A dealership later stated internal engine damage was present, including a failed valve and spark plug damage. The vehicle is currently at a dealership and available for inspection. The loss of power and stalling created a safety hazard because the vehicle could not maintain normal traffic speed and could have been struck by other vehicles. The problem was confirmed by a dealership service department. Warning lights were present prior to final failure and appeared during the loss of power events.Read more

While driving, both the digital instrument cluster and the center infotainment screen will randomly freeze, become completely unresponsive, or shut off entirely. This occurs without warning and while the vehicle is in motion. When the instrument cluster freezes or turns off, critical driving information such as speed, warning indicators, fuel level, and other safety alerts are no longer visible.
... Additionally, when the infotainment screen becomes unresponsive, I lose access to functions such as navigation, backup camera display (when reversing), and vehicle settings. These failures create a significant safety concern because they remove essential driving information and features while the vehicle is being operated. The issue happens intermittently and does not appear to be tied to a specific driving condition. Restarting the vehicle may temporarily resolve the issue, but the problem continues to reoccur. Given that modern vehicles rely heavily on digital displays for critical operational information, this malfunction poses a clear safety risk.Read more

While driving, the vehicle intermittently emits an extremely loud, high-pitched static or screeching noise through the speakers. The sound is sudden, piercing, and startling. Most concerning, this occurs even when the audio system volume is turned completely off. Because the noise is so loud and unexpected, it causes a significant distraction while operating the vehicle. The sound is comparable t
... o an ear-piercing static burst and can make it difficult to concentrate on the road. There is no warning before it occurs, and lowering or muting the volume does not prevent it. 1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The failed component is the drive motor inverter cooling system, specifically the drive motor inverter cooler (OEM part number 87821986). This component is responsible for regulating temperature within the high-voltage electric drive system. The vehicle is currently at the dealership with the re
... pair order open, and the part has not yet been replaced due to national backorder status. The vehicle and failed component are available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The failure triggered a “High Voltage System Warning” message. This warning indicates a malfunction within the electric propulsion system, which controls vehicle movement and power delivery. A malfunction in the inverter cooling system can lead to: Loss of propulsion Sudden power reduction Vehicle shutdown while driving Potential overheating of high-voltage components Because this is a $75,000 electric performance vehicle with only approximately 5,100 miles and four months of ownership, a critical high-voltage system failure creates a serious safety concern. I do not feel the vehicle is safe to operate, and I have refused to drive it under these conditions. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The issue was diagnosed and confirmed by an authorized Acura dealership service department on January 29, 2026. The dealership determined that the drive motor inverter cooler requires replacement. The repair order remains open because the required OEM part is on national backorder with no confirmed ETA. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle has been inspected by the authorized Acura dealership service department. On 01/30/26, I delivered my vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership for the third time in connection with Safety Recall 68C involving the hybrid battery system. The recall addresses a battery defect that carries risk of fire. This is the third occasion on which I have had to leave my vehicle with the dealership because the recall repair has not been successfully completed. During the most recent
... service appointment, the recall repair procedure failed. I was informed that the hybrid battery would require full replacement and that the vehicle could not be returned to me. The vehicle has remained at the dealership and out of service since that date. As of 02/16/26, I have not been provided with a confirmed estimated time of arrival for the replacement battery. The vehicle remains unusable pending completion of the recall repair. No loaner vehicle was provided when the vehicle was rendered inoperable due to the failed recall repair. I was therefore required to obtain a rental vehicle at my own expense in order to maintain transportation for work and daily obligations. On January 30, I received written authorization from Jeep Customer Care approving rental reimbursement at $60 per day and explicitly listing specific companies as acceptable providers. Based on that written authorization, I secured a rental vehicle within the approved rate. After incurring rental expenses, I was informed reimbursement would be limited to $25 per day due to the rental company I chose being categorized as a third-party provider, despite being specifically listed in the written approval. It is not feasible to obtain a comparable rental vehicle in my area at $25 per day. The reimbursement discrepancy remains unresolved. The vehicle remains out of service. I am continuing to incur rental expenses and will be responsible for paying the difference out of pocket despite having relied on written authorization.Read more

1. Loss of motive power at freeway speeds (drops to ~40 mph) despite >40% battery charge 2. Uncommanded switching between electric and gas propulsion; driver cannot control the transition 3. Unintended acceleration in reverse / tire spin even after releasing accelerator 4. Steering wheel shaking at highway speeds → potential loss of control ***All of these items create a high risk
... of rear-end crash, parking-lot collision, and pedestrian/property hazard This is not “normal hybrid operation.” It is an intermittent propulsion control failure (loss of power + uncommanded acceleration behavior) that materially affects safe operation, so it should be handled as a warrantable defect and a safety defect, regardless of recall status. And because the vehicle cannot reliably maintain electric propulsion and instead experiences unpredictable loss of power and forced transitions to the gasoline engine—even with significant battery charge remaining—it is not functioning as a hybrid/electric vehicle as advertised. I paid an additional premium for hybrid/electric capability, but due to these propulsion-control failures the vehicle cannot be safely or consistently operated in electric mode and therefore is not providing the advertised hybrid/electric functionality.Read more

I asked why not and was told that it depended where the Jeep was made. They also told me that the repair will be at my expense. This doesn't seem fair to me because the recall is a safety issue to replace the instrument panel cluster free of charge. Just because my Jeep VIN# wasn't included doesn't mean it wasn't going to fail like the others that were included!! 1. The factory-supplied scissor-type jack that came with my 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe failed. While changing a flat tire on the side of the road, the jack collapsed three times and could not hold the vehicle. Yes, the jack is still available for inspection. I have it in my possession and have provided photographs of the jack, its capacity label, and the incident location as evidence. 2. My safety was
... put at serious risk. The vehicle fell off the jack three times while I was attempting to change the tire on the road. The car remained on the ground without a tire until roadside assistance arrived. If I or a family member had been under or near the vehicle when it fell, we could have been seriously injured or killed. My wife and three toddlers travel in this vehicle, making this a major safety concern for our family. 3. No. Rosen Hyundai dismissed my concern. Service Manager Jeff Bravieri claimed the jack is rated for 3 tons (6,000 lbs) and blamed user error. But my photo shows the jack's label states 1,200 kg (2,645 lbs). The road was flat. The dealership dismissed my safety concern and refused to replace the jack unless I paid for it. They have not inspected the jack despite my request until the involvement of Hyundai Motor America. 4. Not sure, that vehicle and jack have been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. However, manager later agreed to inspect it and instead blamed user error. I am reporting this directly to NHTSA because the dealership and Hyundai have not taken this safety defect seriously. 5. No. No warning lights or signs. The jack looked normal. It failed the first time when I used it in an emergency situation. 6. The jack label says 1,200 kg (2,645 lbs). My vehicle weight is 1,724 kg (3,801 lbs) . The jack is under-rated and unsafe. It failed on a flat road. The dealer ignored the evidence. I fear this could happen to others and cause serious injury or death.Read more

I am submitting this formal safety defect complaint regarding a serious and life-threatening incident involving my 2020 Infiniti QX60. While traveling at approximately 60 miles per hour on a public highway, the vehicle’s hood suddenly and violently flew fully open without warning. This resulted in an immediate and complete loss of forward visibility while the vehicle was in motion. The hood had b
... een properly closed prior to driving, and there were no warning indicators, unusual noises, or prior issues suggesting a problem with the latch mechanism. This event appeared to involve a total failure of both the primary hood latch and the secondary safety latch system, which are specifically designed to prevent this type of occurrence. The incident created an extremely dangerous situation with a high risk of a catastrophic collision, serious injury, or death to myself and other motorists. I was fortunate to maintain control of the vehicle and safely slow down without a crash. This was a near-miss catastrophic event caused by a critical safety system failure. A hood opening at highway speed creates total loss of visibility and represents a severe hazard to roadway safety. The vehicle is currently being preserved without repair so that the failure can be properly evaluated. I am reporting this incident so it can be investigated for potential design, manufacturing, or mechanical defects that could affect other drivers. If anyone else would've been in the car they would've been hurt as well but luckily i just dropped a passenger right before the incident. The car speeding up without warning is very dangerous! There were no warnings. I just bought the car 2 weeks before this happened and now I am scared to drive this vehicle! Vehicle has been inspected unknown if anything was found yet. I need to get the black box checked out to find out what caused this to happen.Read more

I am the original owner of a 2016 Dodge Charger SXT AWD (VIN: [XXX] ). On February 3, 2026, while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure. I heard a loud metallic grinding noise from underneath, followed by an immediate loss of power and "Service Transmission" and "SERV AWD" warnings on the dashboard. The vehicle became inoperable, and the engine could not
... be shut off through normal means after the incident. Recall Context: This vehicle has previously had Safety Recalls T03 (Driveshaft Bolts) and U60 (Front Driveshaft) performed in 2017/2018. However, the current failure is identical to the safety defects described in those recalls. This indicates a Recall Remedy Failure, posing a severe safety risk to the driver and others on the road. Current Dispute: The vehicle was towed to Preston CDJR of Dover, but the dealer claims they cannot diagnose the issue or read fault codes. They are attempting to charge $200/hour for unsuccessful diagnosis attempts. I have opened a case with Dodge Corporate (Case #XXX), but the Case Manager has temporarily closed the case due to the dealer's inability to provide a diagnosis, and neither party has responded to my inquiries for 2 business days. Requested Action: I am filing this complaint to request a formal investigation into this recurring safety defect and to compel the manufacturer to honor the safety recall by performing a physical inspection and necessary repairs at no cost to the consumer. Both times I had to hit the brakes and kick at the gas pedal a few times for it to disengage. This problem doesn’t always happen, as I’ve tried to do it on purpose to see if it would do it again. Not sure it it could possibly have anything to do with snow/ice or salt accumulation on outsi

The problem happened two separate times. I have not brought it up to the dealer but will soon on my next service appointment. Vehicle and component hasn’t been inspected for this problem yet. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms. They first appeared about a month ago (mid January 2026), and happened again first week of February 2026Read more
