My vehicles turn signal audio indicator is extremely quiet and cannot be heard at speeds above 45MPH creating a safety issue. I have checked the vehicle audio settings in addition to the vehicle owner manual and there is no user setting to adjust audio. I asked the dealer where i purchased my vehicle (Northtown Ford, Menomonie, WI) about the issue and they did not have a solution.

The STARLINK touchscreen display on my 2018 Subaru Outback has experienced progressive delamination — a separation of the screen's protective layer from the display panel — resulting in large, spreading opaque blotches that obscure significant portions of the screen. This is a known manufacturing defect that Subaru of America acknowledged through the issuance of a Technical Service Bulletin an
... d an extended warranty for 2018 model year vehicles. That extended warranty has since expired, and Subaru has declined goodwill coverage despite the defect being documented by an authorized Subaru dealership (SOA Case No. 260106-1800881). The screen serves as the primary interface for the backup camera, navigation, and climate controls. Obscured visibility of this screen while driving creates a distraction hazard. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this defect and take appropriate action.Read more

The vehicle produces an extremely loud static or popping blast from the speakers at startup or during operation. The volume controls do not respond and the noise can only be stopped by shutting the vehicle off. The sound is ear-piercing, leaves ringing in the ears, and startles the driver. This has occurred more than once. One incident happened while driving on the freeway and nearly caused a los
... s of control due to the sudden and extremely loud noise. Another occurrence was captured on video while the vehicle was being operated at low speed. The condition occurs without warning and cannot be reproduced on demand. The vehicle is equipped with the B&O Unleashed audio system. No warning lights or messages appear prior to the event. A dealer acknowledged the condition and indicated that a module reprogramming is required to correct it. Ford has issued Special Service Message (SSM) 51663 addressing loud static from the audio system in affected vehicles. Despite the vehicle being under an extended warranty, the corrective repair is being classified as a software update and quoted as a customer-paid repair. This unexpected loud audio blast presents a safety concern due to driver distraction and potential hearing harm.Read more

I stopped at a campground after leaving SC. Discovered a Thor factory solar panel had detached somewhere between SC and Arkansas. The mounting bracket was still attached to the roof but the bolts, washers and nuts were missing on 2 of the 4 mounts and the other mounts had loose components. It would have been a possible catastrophic event if it would have detached at highway speeds.

On January 10, 2026, I purchased a brand new 2025 Hyundai Elantra N with manual transmission. At approximately 517 miles, the vehicle experienced complete clutch and transmission failure and was towed to the selling dealership. The dealership diagnosed the failure and presented a repair estimate of $6,222.96, classifying it as "customer pay/user error" and denying warranty coverage. Parts identifi
... ed for replacement included the clutch cover assembly and flywheel assembly. I did not authorize any repair. I escalated to Hyundai Motor America corporate, who confirmed the dealership had not responded to their warranty inquiry for over two weeks. On February 18, 2026, Hyundai Motor America's National Consumer Affairs formally denied my warranty claim in writing, stating the clutch failure was due to "improper operation" and classifying it as external influence rather than a manufacturing defect. A complete clutch and flywheel failure at 517 miles on a new vehicle represents what I believe to be a manufacturing defect. No evidence of abuse or improper operation was provided to support the denial. The vehicle remains unrepaired at the dealership with no loaner vehicle provided and no resolution offered.Read more

My wife and child drove the car to the grocery store and parked the car l. When she returned to leave , the car would not start and flashed a warning with key fob not detected and some kind of security light warning. The instrument cluster told her to place the key in left console cup holder to crank the vehicle . This did not work either .I drove the second key fob to her to determine if it was a
... key fob issue and the 2 nd key did not work as well. Called dealership and service requested the car being towed. Tow truck didn’t feel comfortable with the removing the vehicle as it was sitting due to space in the parking lot. They dispatched a small tow truck , but in the meantime I disconnected the battery cable and waited about 15 min. The car cranked and I immediately drove it to dealership. There was no code shown at the dealership and this was the first time they have had dealt with this issue. The mechanic drove the car the next day and the same situation happened again , except this time the key fob worked after several failed attempts . I feel that this is a safety issue because the car failed to operate and had no manual ability to operate without the electronic system functioning properly and this could have happened anyway and stranded my wife and child . A few months before in an unrelated incident , the power trunk malfunctioned and had to be reprogrammed . It would not operate except manually . To the Office of Defects Investigation, I am submitting this formal complaint regarding NHTSA Recall 22V703000 (Kia Recall SC249) involving my 2020 Kia Sorento (VIN: [XXX] ). This recall identifies a fire risk due to a potential electrical short in the tow hitch harness module. The recall notice specifically warns that a vehicle fire may occur while parked or driving. After receiving the recall
... notification, we made multiple attempts to schedule the required repair with Pompano Kia, the authorized dealership in our area. Despite repeated efforts, we were not provided with a confirmed repair appointment, and the recall remained incomplete. On [1-19-2026], before the recall remedy was performed, the vehicle caught fire while being driven on a highway in Florida. The vehicle became fully engulfed and was declared a total loss. Law enforcement and/or fire services responded. The incident appears consistent with the fire risk described in the recall. Following the incident, we visited the dealership to report the fire and the unresolved recall. We were told the matter would be reviewed and that we would receive a follow-up call. No follow-up was received. Attempts to contact the dealership through publicly listed email addresses resulted in delivery failure notices. According to NHTSA records, this recall affects tens of thousands of vehicles nationwide. We are concerned about: • Timeliness and availability of recall repairs • Dealership accessibility and communication • Risk to consumers when recall remedies are not completed before failure occurs We also attempted to consult several attorneys regarding this incident. We were advised that due to the volume of recall-related fire cases involving this manufacturer, representation may not be feasible unless severe bodily injury is involved. This further raises concern about the scale and seriousness of the issue. We respectfully request that NHTSA review: • Whether recall 22V703000 is being remedied INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATIONRead more

Sun Roof has leaked. The Sun roof leaked a considerable amount of water and it came through the head liner around the ceiling mounted control panel as well as the back of the car. This is the second time it has happened and I have been told it is not covered under warranty. Through online blogs and forums I have found that this is a common issue with 2021 and newer tahoes and suburbans. And that
... is a reoccurring problem that is commonly not fixed properly by the dealers This causes a safety and health issue as well as an unacceptable vehicle defect. 1.) From a safety standpoint, if I am driving down the highway and a large amount of water starts pouring out of the headliner on the driver it causes a major distraction that could lead to high speed accident. 2.) From a health issue, regular water leaks could lead to vehicle mold and water damage. I have children, if they become susceptible to the mold it could cause health issues for me or my children. 3.) The water that pours out of the ceiling lands on the dash electronics which could lead to more vehicle issues by damaging electronic controls. It is my opinion that this is a major vehicle defect and something should be done by the manufacturer to correct it. On February 17 at approximately 9:30 AM, while my wife was driving uphill, the vehicle abruptly shut down and became completely disabled. It began rolling backward despite her attempting to accelerate. Multiple warning alerts activated simultaneously, and the vehicle would not respond to forward input. Our [XXX] child was in the vehicle at the time. A total loss of power while in motion, combin
... ed with unintended rollback on an incline, represents a catastrophic safety defect. This was not a minor malfunction — it created a direct and immediate risk of collision and serious injury. Compounding this concern, on the morning following the incident at approximately 6:00 AM, I discovered one of the vehicle doors open without any user interaction. The vehicle had been secured the night before. This raises serious questions regarding electronic reliability and system integrity. Given the severity of these failures, I have lost confidence in the safety and dependability of this vehicle. My family’s safety cannot be subjected to further uncertainty. If this matter is not resolved promptly and satisfactorily, I am prepared to pursue all available legal and regulatory remedies, including formal complaints to appropriate federal safety authorities. Vehicle: 2012 Range Rover Sport Supercharged (VIN: [XXX] ) Recall Campaign: N623 / NHTSA 21V635 Incident Description: In October 2025 I had a recall repair done at Land Rover Annapolis. I picked up my vehicle from Land Rover Annapolis after the N623 Fuel Outlet Flange Recall was performed. Immediately after service, while driving in a live lane of traffic, the vehicle unexpectedly stalled, re
... sulting in a complete loss of motive power. The dashboard fuel gauge falsely indicated 55 miles of remaining range, but the vehicle had actually run out of fuel. This indicates that the fuel sending unit/float assembly was improperly reinstalled or damaged during the recall service, creating a secondary safety defect. I figured it would calibrate and fix itself. When the dealer reached out after my service appointment I made them aware of the issue. No one contacted me. I contacted Land Rover corporate when it continued to happen and was told to bring it back to the certified repair location. The dealership took 16 mins to look at my vehicle and deem the engine bad. Give a ballpark quote of 20000 to 30000 dollars to replace the engine. Despite this life-safety event, the dealership refused to pull stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and is attempting to deflect liability by blaming a pre-existing minor coolant leak that never triggered an overheat warning. I am reporting a failure of the recall remedy and requesting an investigation into the dealership's refusal to diagnose consequential damage (High-Pressure Fuel Pump failure) caused by the botched safety When I brought up the fact that they should have diagnosed the codes already he offered to have them run it for free tomorrow like he was doing me some kind of favor. I am submitting this complaint regarding a structural failure of the rear liftgate hinges on my 2020 Toyota RAV4 XLE. The liftgate began opening and closing crooked, and I noticed the door was no longer aligned evenly. After inspection by Toyota dealership, I was informed that the metal hinges attached to the liftgate and body are cracked and must be replaced. This failure is not the result of an
... accident, misuse, or impact. I have never been in a collision involving the rear of the vehicle. I was told this damage is considered “wear and tear,” so my insurance company declined coverage. The Toyota dealership also declined to cover the repair, stating it is not covered under warranty so I will have to pay out of pocket. However, after researching this issue, I found that many other Toyota RAV4 owners have reported the same hinge cracking and liftgate misalignment problem. This appears to be a widespread manufacturing or design defect rather than normal wear. This is a serious safety concern. If the hinges continue to crack, the liftgate could fail completely and fall, potentially causing injury. The misalignment also prevents the liftgate from opening and closing properly, which affects vehicle safety and usability. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue and consider whether a safety recall or technical service bulletin is necessary to protect drivers and passengers. Thank you for your time and consideration.Read more

Component: Driver-side door latch and lock assembly. The failure is fully reproducible and ongoing. The condition first occurred without any prior warning signs, messages, or symptoms and has persisted for more than a day without resolving
... . Although the vehicle responds to unlock commands from the key fob, keypad, and interior door controls with normal audible confirmation, the driver door frequently remains unable to open. Failure behavior includes: •The driver door cannot be opened from inside the vehicle, preventing occupant exit. •The door also cannot be opened from the outside during these events. •An occupant became trapped inside and had to crawl across the vehicle and exit through the passenger side. •The vertical lock indicator moves between locked and unlocked positions, but the latch does not release. •The electronic systems appear functional, yet the mechanical latch does not respond. •Using the physical key can sometimes force the lock cylinder past a mechanical click point, temporarily allowing the door to open; however, this places the mechanism into abnormal states where the door may remain permanently unlocked or, when turned in the opposite direction, cannot be opened at all regardless of unlock attempts. •All other vehicle doors operate normally. Video evidence documenting the failure is available. This condition presents a serious safety concern because occupants could become trapped inside the vehicle during an emergency or after a crash, delaying rescue. The latch mechanism is a critical safety component that consumers cannot reasonably inspect, predict, or maintain. Given the life-safety implications of a door that cannot be opened from either side, this issue warrants investigation for potential defect trends.Read more
