Drivers rear side tire had a blow involving the tread flying off exactly at the seam it is attached to the tire. This couldn't caused an accident or death to myself or other drivers on the road. These tires were purchased on the vehicle brand new in Sept 19 2020. The accident happened September 15 2021. The vehicle is brand new as well. The other Goodyear eagle sport tires on the vehicle had
... bubbles which would lead to another blowout. The car has under 25k miles. The car has had oil changes, etc per car doc agreement. There is something wrong with the integrity of the rubber of the tire or they are retreading and selling retreaded tires as new. My son decided with the knowledge of the tire mechanic, to replace all Goodyear tires due to the safety hazard they could create. He had to replace 3 tires.Read more

On August 30th 2021 around 12:45pm driving to work I experienced something I did not realize was possible. I was in the fast lane going 70-75mph when my steering wheel began to shake profusely, I felt like something was under my car and hitting/whipping the right passenger side of my vehicle. I lost control of my car, almost flipped and thought it was a blowout, while trying to come to a stop on
... the highway and nowhere to pullover. 18wheelers all around me and I had no choice but to stop on left small shoulder. At this time we realized that my tire had not blown, but ALL the Tread had separated from the tire. It had separated and this caused roughly 6feet of extreme whipping of tread while separating from the tube part of tire was beating my car in multiple areas under the car, damaged and took off half of my bumper, tore up the passenger side back and front door while causing large dents. I called a tow truck while my daughter called my husband to help us. Tow driver stated he hadn’t seen that happen and we were very lucky something catastrophic didn’t happen, Myself and my daughters life was in great risk!! We almost flipped the car due to tire separation, and we could’ve caused a multi car accident! My car had to go to the collision center ( Caliber Collision ) which is a vendor my insurance company works with - they have taken multiple photos of the damage. I have also taken multiple photos of damage. It has not been inspected by authorities etc… yet. No warning lights representing tire pressure, concerns etc….were alerting me of anything to be concerned of. The interior passenger airbag light was stating airbag was off - which caused for more concern ( I am driving a 2016 Audi A3 with a National recall & no fix!! ) with if we would’ve crashed, rolled, wrecked into someone/something that the airbags would’ve potentiality not gone off to protect my daughter or myself!Read more

Description of incident: Date: 02/25/21 Road condition: wet As I slowed to exit the highway (speed +/-55 mph), I heard a loud noise from the right rear of the vehicle. Vehicle was difficult to control until I slowed significantly. First thought was a blow-out. Was surprised by the extent of the damage to the wheel since I did not hit anything. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, an
... d is it available for inspection upon request? The right rear wheel failed. Tire was flat and showed no signs of damage. The wheel and tire are available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The instantaneous wheel failure and subsequent loss of air pressure in the right rear tire made the vehicle difficult to control. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The Toyota dealership, where the vehicle was purchased, inspected the vehicle on 02/26/21. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle was inspected by the Toyota dealership on 02/26/21. Subsequently, I tried to work with Toyota at the regional and national level hoping to receive some insight into what might have caused the failure. Without an accident and injury, there was little interest in finding resolution. Toyota was unable to offer evidence that I hit something and they were unable to offer an explanation supporting the failure. Naturally, this leads me to question the integrity of the remaining wheels. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? TPMS activated.Read more

The tires have now been recalled since March 2021 and we started to go into this store in May 2021 to get the issue resolved. The desk clerk has told us that the service manager, Robert Lozoya, turns away everyone who comes to the store with a tire recall notice. We provided them with a copy of the recall notice repeatedly and had the vehicle there to verify the DOT number. Mr. Lozoya is running this business in a manner that fails to comply with federal law and puts customers at danger for failing to order replacement tires, failing to comply with the federally-mandated recall, and intentionally delay the replacement process on unsafe tires that the NHTSA has determined "may lead to a crash".Read more
