My tires have only 5600 miles on them...Nitto 265/65R17's. I have my 5,000 mile service. They rotated the tires. A couple of days later I noticed my steering wheel shaking. I took it back to the dealership. They said my tires have High Road Force..only the two that were from the rear. They contacted Nitto, they will not replace the tires because they only cover the first 1/32 of the tires and
... Im at 2/32. There has to be something wrong with these tires to be so new and yet have this problem. My tires cannot be rotated because the two with the problem will need to stay on the back of the truck so as that my steering wheel wont shake.Read more

I purchased this vehicle on June 26, 2020. When the vehicle was serviced on May 13, 2021 it had 8,366 miles on it and the tread wear was recorded at 6/32". In late June/early July 2021, I noticed the rear end of the vehicle seemed to slide around corners which lead me to research on the internet the Michelin tires that were on the vehicle. I found a GM Service Bulletin 19-NA-078 dated January 2
... 020 that found issues with these tires. The vehicle's alignment was fixed and that problem seemed to go away. The vehicle was serviced on October 29, 2021 and I was told new tires were needed before winter driving. The tread measurement was 5/32". I told the service department that I wanted to talk to Michelin about this because I felt their tires should last longer. On October 29, the vehicle had 13,332 miles on it. I spoke to a Michelin representative on Monday, November 8th after scanning and emailing in the service records from October 29th showing the tread measurement to be 5/32". The Michelin representative acknowledged that they did have the service records and the only thing needed was a phone call from Bergstrom - Middleton WI, an authorized Michelin dealer. Bergstrom was confident additional information would be needed on the tires and asked that I schedule an appointment to come back in with the vehicle. I did that today. Today I was told by Bergstrom that nothing could be done because the tires were at 5/32". The current mileage on my vehicle is less than 14,000 miles and all 4 of these tires need to be replaced. It appears from what I could find on the internet, a "safe tire" is one that has at least 6/32" tire tread so these tires, which I might add should not have worn out at 14,000 miles, are no longer safe. What boggles my mind is that this has been a known issue with these tires since January 2020, before I even purchased the vehicle. I feel mislead and given the run-around by GM and Michelin. Consumer stated Michelin has agreed to cover 70% of new tires. Consumer would like to closRead more

215/65 R 16. Four new CONTINENTAL tires fitted early 2021 to Sienna at Discount Tire in Tucson. July 2021 severe vibration and evidence of tire structural issue photographed. I returned to Discount Tire in Tucson (Speedway)
... to ask for a recall check after I learned of the 2021 recall on similar Continental tires for sidewall failure. Discount tire reimbursed one tire. I complained to agent Matthew Harby that the other two tires were dangerous because they showed the same sidewall defect on the hot day. He denied my request for replacement if the remaining two Continental tires because there was no open recall on these. I told I him I was worried about a catastrophic failure in normal operation. I then resumed driving. The weather cooled off and until October the two tires behaved normally again.. On 10/30 about 630pm I was dri ong on I10 and experienced catastrophic tire failure in the outside lane speed approx 65mph. I was fortunate to be able to pull over without losing control but the photo shows the extent of this serious failure. I am now at Discount Tire on Ina Road in Tucson requesting replacement of the failed tire and the final remaining CONTINENTAL tire. The photos should show sufficient evidence of sidewall failure matching the failure mode of the recalled tires. THESE ARE DANGEROUS AND NEED NHTSA ACTION WITH A UNIVERSAL RECALL BEFORE A FATAL EVENT OCCURSRead more

I have 4 Toyo Open Range A31, P25 45 R16 Tires on my 2019 Toyota Tacoma. They were new tires on the 2019 Tacoma when I purchased it new from the Toyota Dealership in August 2019. 4 tires on the Tacoma and 1 Spare tire. I noticed over he life of these 4 Toyo tires they wore rapidly and chunked and lost chunks of rubber in the tread areas. I always rotated and balanced my Toyo tires as required.
... I had yearly front end alignments done . 2020 and 2021. I do an air check every 30 days. There are no mechanical problems with my 2019 Toyota Tacoma. When these Toyo Open Range A31 Tires were new they started out at 11/32 tread in August 2019. As previously noted all 4 tires wore rapidly and chunked, rubber loss in thread. By October 2021at 19,500 all 4 Tires were at 5/32 closer to 4/32 and had Chunking Rubber loss in threads on all 4 tires. These tires lasted 2 years and 19,500 miles and must now be replaced. Toyota does not warranty the Toyo Tires and told me to deal with Toyo Tires directly. Toyo Tire has been challenging to deal with and are only offering 25% off towards a purchase of 4 new Toyo Tires. This in Unacceptable. Its reasonable for a consumer to expect more than 19,500 miles or 2 years from tires. The Big Picture and Major Concern is Safetey !! The tire that failed was previously
... located on the Passenger Side Front prior to rotation. I began noticing vibration in the steering wheel at speeds approximately 40-45 mph and higher. I monitored this vibration for a few days in various driving conditions in an attempt to diagnose the problem and noticed that the vibration increased with vehicle speed. Soon, the problem became worse and the entire vehicle began vibrating. The last day of the evaluation period I was towing a Tandem Axle 16ft open Car Trailer with an SUV loaded on the trailer at speeds as high as 75 mph on the interstate. The next day I took the truck to the local dealer who informed me that the steel belt had separated on the inside of the tire and would require replacement. After conducting research on tire separation, I discovered the serious safety concern where the tire could have blown out which would have surely caused a serious accident. I also discovered that this separation failure is very common with this same combination of Nexen Tires on Heavy Duty Ram Pickup Trucks. I had the spare tire mounted until an identical replacement tire was delivered to the dealer for install. I paid $282.42 out of pocket for the tire replacement and after arguing with the dealer, they filed a warranty claim with Nexen. Weeks later I was informed that they have offered to reimburse approximately $113, but to date I have not received any funds and I still have 6 Nexen of these Nexen tires on my truck plus the spare.Read more

Catastrophic tire failure. Tire size: 205/65R15. The tire that failed was one of a set of four purchased from a Good Year store in June 2021. The air in the tires on this truck had been checked and topped-off at 32 psi the day before the failure. The sidewall on one side of the tire that failed came completely apart from the tread. There was no evidence of damage from a road hazard. The tir
... e is available for inspection. I was traveling about 50-55 mph when I noticed that the truck did not feel right. I asked my passenger to eye the tire and he reported that it did not look right. I looked in my mirror and the tire appeared to explode. I pulled over and stopped. Had I been driving faster or paying less attention, the shredded tire may have caused an accident. I reported the incident to the dealer, Good Year, they inspected the tire, and they agreed to give me a new tire for half price (1/2 price for a 4-month old tire with 2000 miles on it that was obviously defective)! There were no warnings or other symptoms prior to the failure.Read more

NEXEN LT235/80R17 2019 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually We have read many horror stories about these stock tires from RAM. The RAM dually and other sites are full of photos and stories of the tires failing. These truck are used for towing large RV and other trailers so the risk due to failing tires is huge. We had hoped to get a few miles out of them before replacing them for peace of mind. Didn't happen tho
... ugh we had the front and inside dual on the passenger side fail at 14,866 miles. The front began to wobble and shake the front end of the truck. I noticed it on 10/12/2021 and on the 13th the truck was shaking so badly I drove the 15 or so miles to Discount tire at 30mph. Discount tire inspected the tire and immediately noticed the tire belts were separating and the tire was about to blow apart. They then found the inside passenger side dual was separating as well. We pulled and replaced all 6 tires. No way we could trust our safety to the RAM stock NEXEN tires. Please look into this further. The number of reports does not reflect the numbers of failures on the road. Many of the truck buyers just immediately replace the NEXEN tires on delivery of their RAM trucks! $200 for a new front end alignment and $1,600 for tires on a new truck but we are safe.Read more
