Tire size 265/40 R 21. I had 2 tires fail with sidewall breaks on this car, which was purchased on 8/23/2019. These were the original tires that came with the car. First sidewall problem occurred on 3/25/2021 when the car had only 6,700 miles on it. That tire was replaced. Tires were maintained and rotated as recommended by dealer. Then on 10/12/2021 when the car had 9,234 miles on it a second ori
... ginal tire cracked on the sidewall near the rim. Two tires failed in the same way in under 10,000 miles. Continental refuses to pro-rate the cost of the new tires or take any responsibility. I have since replaced all 4 tires with a different brand. Since Contintental has a record of recalling tires for sidewall defects in the manufacturing process, and I have no recollection of damaging the tires while on the road, I believe them to be defective.Read more

Feb. 26th, 2022 driving I-5 (Tacoma)towards North with my Wife on our way home at approximately 05:00PM (Raining and Windy) Tire got puncture with some type of metal that cause our car swerved immediately slowdown and put my hazard light on at the same time did my best to take the closest exit as safety as possible till we made it to exit (S. 74th St.) Immediately evaluate my REAR DRIVER SIDE TI

RE (225/65R17 Michelin Primacy) and it was already flat and DAMAGE due to running flat towards our exit (safety location) Called my insurance Roadside Assistant and the same time calling our friends if someone can give us a hand/help. StateFarm Roadside Assistance says 1hr to 1.5hr… while waiting for Raodside Assistance and One of our friend I started looking for my “Spare Tire/Tools” sadly we only have the “Spare Tire and A Jack” it’s missing the the Tire Wrench so I called my salesman and ask what happen I bought a Brand New car and it didn’t came with a “Set of Tools” I didn’t bother checking the trunk of our car since we bought it Brand new I was confident bcoz I know my salesman since he’s been our salesman ever since. Contacted the Toyota Dealership the following day but they just keep putting me on hold. Now I’ve been missing work since we don’t have a car. Reason why I called dealership is to ask if they have a Warranty on my tire and that help us cut a lil of trouble/expenses if our tire is still under warranty. Tire has 12,000 miles that time. Feb 27th (Sunday) woke up early to get my tire fix but unfortunately Costco tire service told me that they can do or repair my tire anymore. Tried contacting Michelin but sadly still unlucky. Feb 28th I called out work to get my tire fix, while getting my tire fix I tried contacting Toyota Rodland again to ask about my Tire Warranty but no one answers. Texted my salesman but he answered my text late evening told me he couldn’t anything about the tire, all he can do is to give me a Set of Tire Wrench.Read more

I purchased Cooper Evolution Tour tires (DOT U92Y VN 1820, Size 225/65R17) on August 10, 2020. Since then, I've only put 16,000 miles on them. I've been consistently losing air and recently brought them into my dealer for inspection, and they located a bulge in the sidewall in all four of my tires. (I have pictures of each of the buldges as marked by the dealer.) They told me it was a manufacture
... r's defect and to contact Cooper Tires. Cooper Tires has a recall out for the same type of tire, only an earlier model, with the same exact defect: Recall No. 19T-024 on Cooper Evolution Tour DOT U9 40 1LT 3019. (Dated Dec. 2019.) When I contacted Cooper customer service, they said no recall for my model exists, and I'd have to get replacements under the warrantee, costing me an additional $350. If these tires have the same defect as the earlier model, they should be recalled immediately. I've been driving around on four bulging sidewalls and risking a crash as indicated by Recall No. 19T-024, all of which they recognized enough to recall their earlier model. Attached is the print out from the dealer with the estimate to replace the tires with my road hazard warrantee through them, and pictures of where they marked the sidewall bulges on each tire. I purchased a 2022 Chevrolet Suburban on December 6, 2022 equipped with4 Bridgestone Alenza A/S 02 tires sized 275 50R22. On December 21, on my way home I hit a bump. When I got home I could audibly hear air leaking out of the passenger rear tire. I called OnStar who sent a tow truck driver out to put the spare on. We could not find a nail or anything in the tire but there was about a 1.5 inch
... crack in the sidewall about 1 inch away from the rim with nothing sticking in it. I took it to the dealership where I purchased the tire and they ordered a replacement tire. They said that I could file a complaint with the State Department of Transportation if I wanted. It cost me about $328 to repair. On February 12, around 9:00 pm, I was about an hour and a half away from home about to drive back when the tire sensor light came on saying the passenger rear tire had low air pressure. I pulled into a park and went to look and I again could audibly hear air leaking from the tire. I had not hit any bumps this time, but the tire was completely flat within 20 minutes. When the tow truck driver came to put the spare on, I explained to him what happened previously and that was the second time this had happened within 2 months of purchasing the vehicle. He looked at the tire with me and it had the same tear in the sidewall in the same location as the previous tire. There was no nail or object in the tire, just a 1.5 inch long rigid crack. I noticed that there had been a Bridgestone recall for this type of tire for size 275 55R20 in 2021 because of a pin hole in the sidewall. I believe that my tires are defective.Read more

Incident date: Jan 18, 2022
While traveling on a paved state maintained road at approximately 45-50 miles per hour, the driver side front tire on my 2017 RAM 1500 exploded. The condition of the road at the time was clear and there were no foreign objects laying in the lane of travel. Upon the tire exploding, I was immediately pulled left into the opposing lane of traffic. No injuries or crash were reported during this inci
... dent, however had my rate of speed been higher, lack of driving skills, or oncoming traffic, the results could have proved to be fatal. After finding a safe location off of the travelled roadway, I replaced the faulty tire with a spare. I observed damage to my inner fender liner as a result of the explosion. The tire has not been inspected by the police, insurance company, or the manufacturer. No warning lamps or other indicators provided notification of any problems prior to the incident. The faulty tire in question is Identified as a Goodyear Wrangler SR-A, P275/60R20. This tire is an original installation from the vehicle manufacturer and has been in service for 20,300 miles. This particular tire blew out in a straight line fashion across the tread section of the tire from sidewall to the opposite sidewall. This is the first time that I have ever reported a safety matter, however due to the unique circumstances of the failure of this tire, I feel that this matter should be investigated and this tire removed from service. I have conducted internet searches and found other consumers have experienced the exact same tire failure scenario. I will be replacing all four Gooodyear tires on my RAM truck tomorrow with a completely different manufacturer. The tire can be retained for inspection if necessary, although it will be disposed of if no such request is received.Read more
