We purchased our Volkswagen Atlas in September of 2019 and have driven it under 27,000 miles. In that time we have had 3 flat tires. The first one was when we first got it and was triggered by a hit to the curb. It was a gentle hit that surprised that it caused a flat. A few days ago on a clear day on a smooth road, we heard a pop from our front passenger tire. It was a flat. There was no pothol
... e or object in the road. We took to the dealer and spent $1,500 where they replaced that tire and also replaced the front drivers tire due to dry rot cracks found in the thread. They also completed 4 wheel alignment. The next day I was driving and the pressure light came on and we had a flat tire in the back passenger side. As with the day earlier, there was nothing in the road and no pothole. It was a clear day. It made me google to see if there was some issue with these tires and I found this link [XXX] which states that " (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Atlas vehicles equipped with Continental tires. On the affected vehicles, it is possible that one or more tires were cured for too long during tire production." It does not appear when I check my vin number but to have 3 flat tires with less than 30,000 miles with at least two of them triggered by nothing that we could discern, I believe we may have been one of the 2019 Atlas's with these issues. Volkswagen was not helpful about this recall. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Re: Front left and right Toyo Tires (195/65R15 ) Having passed MA state inspection at the end of August my husband and I headed out for a 500 mile road trip. But 100 miles into the trip the front end was shimmying so badly my husband's leg in the passenge
... r seat was vibrating. He didn't sleep that night and said, "I think we should look into new tires if we're going to continue." I found a Town Fair Tire store in Northhampton, MA and booked an appointment. On arrival one of the specialists came out to inspect the tires I wanted to change out and he stopped in his tracks to shake his head in disbelief. His words were, "You have been driving on secondary rubber and just last evening a woman was towed in with her Prius, same year, same mileage but she had blown a tire because of the poor tread." That was all I had to hear. It would be different if it was just me but here were two of us with 34,000 miles on our Prius' and horribly worn out tires. What's the likelihood of that? I am sick thinking that Toyota stuck such cheap tires on a car which could have threatened our lives. Greed is what drives these decisions and it has to stop!Read more

This is not about a tire failure but rather dangerous mis sizing of tires from factory.I bought the car new. It was never in an accident or had a flat tire and did not have service call until this week at 13000 or so miles.the service included tire rotation and balance, but the service man called and said he wasn’t going to do it because the driver rear tire was the wrong size!!!! It was suppose

Clearly this affects handling, wear, stability etc. I’m a very careful driver but someone less careful could roll over on a fast corner turn! How many more Hyundai/ Genesis tires are mis sized? No one checks that when you buy a car!Read more

My husband and I purchased a 2021 alpine Keystone 3712 KB fifth wheel on June 2, 2021 around the end of Aug 2021. We left to Oregon for our vacation. Around the first part of September 2021 our trailer started showing signs of issues. We put it in the camper world in Eugene OR and found out that it had front structural damage where they tore out all the the foam off the front goose neck & replaced
... it with tongue in groove wood. In November 2021 we were finally able to bring the trailer back to Utah. On our way home. We blew two driver side tires simultaneously. It caused thousands to repair. I spoke with a tire specialist. He looked at the tires and said they weren’t even rated for us to load our trailer up with water and all the essentials that are required to camp We were told at the KOA by people that worked for those companies that we should’ve replace the tires we didn’t believe them of course because we just bought it and put $104,000 into this RV only to regret not listening to the people that were once employed for these companies in music it was a defect or problem. Since that time we’ve had the trailer in the RV repair shop more than we’ve even been able to enjoy it over the last two years I believe we’ve only used it a total of five times and every time there has been a problem where it’s had to been returned to the repair shop. We are now having issues again where the front coach is starting to make a scene and cracking noises it’s the same thing that happened the first time when we had the front structural damage we don’t get any help from Parris RV in Salt Lake City or from Keystone only to be told to go through warranty . I feel like this is unfair for us to put this much money into something that we wanted to enjoy and have not been able to do so for over two years . There are many more issues that are going on with this RV but I don’t believe I have enough characters to tell you everything.Read more

This is on a general gmax as-05 215/50/ ZR 17 purchased in 2021 from tirerack.com. these tires are used seasonally in addition to winter tires so they have minimal miles for being a little over 2 years old. I also recently had the car New York State inspected in the last 30 days. upon reaching out to Tire Rack I learned there was a substantial recall of almost 100,000 continental and general brand tires that were " over cured". This tire is not on the list but did exactly what the description of the recalled tires had done. I do not feel safe traveling on the remaining tires and I feel other people could be in danger of this happening to this model Tire. I just want to keep myself and other safe and feel like I'm going to get stonewalled with a retailer on warranty. Also want to keep others from potential harm as this had happened on my front wheel in the middle of rush hour traffic it could have been disastrous and deadly! Up until this I loved these tires they were sporty, great handling, quiet and wearing very evenly and seem to be long-lasting so far. I hope Continental/general does the right thing by adding this tire to the recall list. Also this car was recently New York State inspected less than 30 days ago there is ample tread and the tires have been diligently rotated and they are only on the car for 7 months at a time as I have a set of General winter tires that I switch between seasonally.Read more

The tire is a Cooper (Discoverer/Rigged Trek) 35x12.50R20LT. The tire is unreadable as it ripped off the bead. While driving, a sudden pop suddenly occurred and smoke began to appear. I pulled over and realized the entire tire popped/blew up. No accident, it was at 35mph approximately. The vehicle has not been inspected yet as I am typing this while waiting for a tow truck.

1. The tires//rims on this vehicle are causing extremely excessive tire blowouts. I have had at least 5 tire blowouts in the last 6 months alone along with 8-10 tire changes due to bubble forming on sidewall. This is a widespread issue on this vehicle in which I have read that many others are also experiencing the same. The vehicle is available for inspection. 2. A tire blowout while driving
... can be extremely hazardous especially on the freeway. 3. The problem with this vehicle has been confirmed with the dealer. However, they are unable to pinpoint what is exactly causing these excessive tire blowouts. 4. No, the vehicle has not been inspected. 5. No warnings prior to incidents.Read more

GOODYEAR TIRE, 255/40R20 101W XL I have had to replace 5 tires on my Tesla in 13 months. 3 were from nails, one was from running over a pothole and one was flat from an unknown cause. I have been told by multiple people in the car maintenance field that the tires are not appropriate for the weight of the vehicle therefore are far more prone to imbedded nails and other spontaneous road hazards. I
... only do basic city driving and avoid industrial/construction zones when able. Also, 2 out of the 5 times I have had a tire with low pressure, the vehicle has indicated the wrong tire. For example, the most recent incident showed my tire pressure at 23 in the front driverside tire, when checked manually the pressure was reading 45 psi in that tire. Went to Tesla and they confirmed the sensor needed to be replaced and made an appointment to have that fixed in 2 weeks when they were available. I continued to drive the vehicle since I was told it “was just a sensor”. The next day, the passenger rear tire was flat but indicated appropriate pressure for that tire on car’s reading. I was horrified that I continued to drive on a low tire for an entire day and did not know because the car was indicating the wrong tire was low in pressure. This could’ve resulted in a blow out or other threat to my safety. Supposedly my sensors have been replaced when I have asked for them to be but the sensors reading the wrong tire pressures is a chronic issue. Tesla is aware the tires are prone to flats, which is why they will not sell you tire coverage. I feel unsafe in this vehicle.Read more

205/60 R 16 I was driving on the Loop 101 South in Scottsdale, Arizona going highway speeds when I heard my passenger side rear tire explode. There were no preceding warning lights or tire pressure warnings before it happened. I pulled over and say that the sidewall blew out on both sides. There were no puncture marks on the tire that would have caused the blowout except for the sidewall failing.
