Factory Ford 20” wheels with Factory Installed Michelin 275/65 R20 LTX A/T2 tires. Tires have just under 30,000 miles on them and still have more than 50% tread. Tread wear is even. Tires have been rotated. Truck has 73,000 miles but had different wheels and tires for first 43,000 miles. I stored these wheels and tires inside climate controlled building. When my aftermarket tires wore out, I put
... these back on. They had 10 miles on them when I took them off. I have had them on since April 2022. On Friday June 5th, 2026 I was traveling about 60 MPH and had a catastrophic blow-out of the passenger side rear tire. The tires blew completely apart and the wheel hit the ground and the back side of the wheel broke off, before I could get over to the side of the road the tire beat the bed and running board to pieces and even damaged the exhaust and bumper. The wheel was ruined. Thousands of dollars in damage. All the tires are in good condition, not dry rotted, no cracks, the truck has been indoors in a garage. They hold air. TMPS works and I check my pressure all the time. I had just set the air pressure early that morning before leaving. The tires are less than 10 years old which is the date for replacement. They have more than half their tread. No cracks. They hold pressure perfectly. They are worn evenly. No reason for the tire to have blown out other than a manufacturing defect. When I got stopped there was a huge hole in tire and no tread on it at all.Read more

Year: 2026 Make: Toyota Model: Camry LE Hybrid VIN: [XXX] Mileage at Time of Discovery: Approximately 750 miles Date Purchased: Approximately 20 days before discovery (22nd May 2026) Tire Brand/Model: Goodyear Assurance RangeMax Tire DOT Number: 1M63P LF1R 1626 I purchased this Toyota Camry new approximately 20 days ago. The vehicle currently has approximately 750 miles on it. During car washin
... g, I discovered visible bulges on all four tires. The tires are Goodyear Assurance RangeMax with DOT number 1M63P LF1R 1626. The bulges appear on each tire sidewall and raise concerns about a possible manufacturing defect or structural failure within the tires. The vehicle has not been involved in any accident, impact, pothole strike, or other event that would reasonably explain identical bulging on all four tires. I visited dealership and they confirmed it's manufacturing defects. Also, Goodyear service centre also confirmed it's manufacturing defects. Because tire sidewall bulges can indicate internal tire damage and increase the risk of tire failure, blowout, loss of vehicle control, crash, injury, or death, I believe this condition presents a significant safety concern. The fact that all four original-equipment tires exhibit similar bulging at very low mileage suggests the possibility of a defect affecting the tires or their manufacture. I am submitting this complaint so that NHTSA can investigate whether other consumers may be experiencing similar issues with Goodyear Assurance RangeMax tires installed on new Toyota Camry vehicles. Safety Concern: Potential tire sidewall defect resulting in bulging on all four tires at approximately 750 miles, creating a risk of tire failure, blowout, and loss of vehicle control. Component: TIRES Tire Brand: Pirelli Model: Scorpion (255/45R20) Vehicle: 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy Complaint Description: I have experienced two separate failures of the right‑rear Pirelli Scorpion 20" tire on my 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy within a four‑week period. Both failures occurred during normal driving on paved roads with no significant impact event. The first failu
... re was a loss of air due to a puncture in the sidewall area. I was able to use the on board sealant kit to sufficiently repair the tire and get it to Belle Tire. The tire was replaced as the damage was on the sidewall on May 5, 2026. On June 6, 2026 while driving on HWY 75 in Ohio, the replacement tire on the same right‑rear corner also failed, again losing air rapidly and causing us to pull over to the side of the highway. Both failures occurred at low mileage and under normal driving conditions with no impact. This pattern suggests a potential safety‑related defect involving the OEM Pirelli Scorpion 255/45R20 tires used on the Santa Fe Calligraphy. I have since learned that many other owners of 2024–2025 Hyundai Santa Fe models equipped with these same 20" Pirelli Scorpion tires are reporting sidewall punctures, bulges, and repeated failures, often on the passenger‑side tires. Repeated tire failures on the same wheel position pose a serious safety risk, including the possibility of sudden blowouts at highway speeds. I am reporting this so NHTSA can investigate whether these tires or their application on this vehicle are defective.Read more

Denied via customer service email only — no technical report, no inspector name, no methodology provided. Conclusion: "ply breakage due to impact." Tire 2: America's Tire, Seaside CA. Delivered to Pirelli facility McDonough GA, Feb 26 2025, UPS #[XXX]. No determination issued to date. Dealer refused tire submission for weeks. Corporate escalation and Pirelli technical intervention required before pickup occurred. Out of pocket costs: $420 (Beltran, mileage confirmed 4,582) and $2,387.57 (4x Michelin replacement, America's Tire order #XXX). Total loss: $2,807.57. Also my vehicle had to be towed and I had to pay out of pocket for that as well. Four sidewall failures under 5,000 miles on a new vehicle is a potential manufacturing defect and highway safety risk. I have a 2024 Ram 3500 with 9661miles, equipped with Firestone Transforce AT LT285/60R20 Load range E tires. These tires are date coded 3123 which make them just under 3 years old as of this report. I have been to both the selling dealer and 2 separate Firestone Corporate Sponsored Tire stores for inspections. Everyone seems to agree that this should not happen, but no one wants to take responsibility for the warranty to correct this concern. The selling dealer indicates that they are not responsible for the tire warranty and the Firestone Stores and a district represent have communicated to me that, even though that I purchased the truck brand new, I am not the original purchaser of the tires and therefore they are not covered under warranty. Obviously, a finger pointing exercise and choice by each manufacture to place my safety at risk. I have no choice except to purchase new tires so that I can continue to operate my truck safely. I have pictures of the concerns, and the tires will be available for inspection if requested.Read more

New vehicle purchased February 2026 with OEM Pirelli tires. Had puncture in tire, but on repair, tire found to have inside sidewall bubble. No history of any impacts or hard strikes to tires. Discount Tire said probable tire defect, unsafe to drive even a few miles, so placed spare and we took car to dealer. No extended warranty but less than 2400 miles on gently used tire. Hyundai denied cov
... erage under Pirelli warranty for nearly new tire, stating that it was due to some kind of undetermined impact to tire (all other tires thus far okay), and we paid for a new replacement tire. But given the lack of history, I noted that their are numerous online complaints regarding this same tire on larger vehicles, including 10 complaints filed already to NHTSA. I have filed an inquiry with Pirelli, but believe, given the numerous prior complaints and the EXTREME SAFETY RISK OF A BLOW OUT on a tire that appears to be defective. based on other reports and our experience, an investigation into this tire should be undertaken with possible recall and replacement of all of these tires with a safer model, at Pirelli's expense, should a defect indeed be found.Read more

TIRE SIZE 235 / 55 R 19. Vehicle is a 2024 IONIQ 5. Issue began at/around 10k miles of use. Sound dampening foam inside of the tires comes loose and bunches up in the tire, creating varying degrees of car shaking and vibration. At its worst, the steering wheel and tires violently shake, especially between 50 - 75 mph. On the highway this causes a very dangerous situation of the driver fighting t
... he wheel to remain safely within their lane. This can happen with no warning (or very little) as the vibration may be subtle at lower speeds on local roads, only to become unexpectedly extreme and violent while speeding-up to join highway traffic. Local Hyundai dealership inspected and tried rotating and balancing which did not fix the problem. Finally they removed the tires and inspected the foam which fixed the issue on one single tire. Cost was passed to the consumer, who is not at fault. And with only one tire addressed, the potential remains for each tire to experience the same failure without warning as time goes by. This is a very dangerous issue, well known as evidenced by complaints since 2023 online, and is going to cause accidents. It is unacceptable that drivers have risk their safety and that of other drivers if they lose control of the car due to the inability to control the steering wheel. Then have to pay to fix this issue or pay for new tires after only 10-12k miles.Read more

The component that failed was the tire/wheel system on a rental vehicle from Enterprise. While driving on a dry highway in New Mexico, a tire pressure warning light appeared. Because we were in a remote area, we stopped at the nearest gas station and added air to the tire. After adding air, the warning light temporarily turned off, so I believed the issue was low tire pressure. However, while cont
... inuing to drive, the warning light came back on. We were traveling through an isolated area where towns and service stations were very far apart, and I was attempting to safely make it to the next available gas station or service area. While driving at highway speed, I suddenly heard a loud “boom boom boom” noise. Immediately afterward, I saw the tire detach from the vehicle and roll in front of me before going off to the side of the roadway. I quickly attempted to safely pull the vehicle over. The sudden tire separation created a serious safety hazard for myself, my passengers, and other drivers on the highway. There was a risk of losing control of the vehicle, rollover, collision, or secondary accidents caused by debris or the detached tire. Other vehicles had to maneuver around us after the incident. The problem was not caused by weather conditions, debris impact, or unsafe driving. The failure happened during normal highway driving in dry conditions. The tire itself was not recovered after the incident. An Enterprise representative later asked where the tire was, but due to the sudden nature of the event and the remote location, we were unable to retrieve it. To my knowledge, the vehicle has not yet been formally inspected by the manufacturer or an independent repair facility. However, the vehicle should be inspected for possible tire defects, maintenance failures, wheel assembly problems, or improper installation. The incident was reported to Enterprise, and I contacted customer service multiple times regarding the safety issue and resulting damages and expenses.Read more

... ar tires began exhibiting severely degraded traction during heavy rain conditions on paved roads. On at least one occasion, the rear of the vehicle broke loose during a normal turn at low to moderate speed in heavy rain, resulting in a near-loss-of-vehicle-control incident. The front tires, from the same set and installation, did not exhibit the same level of traction loss during the same conditions, suggesting the failure is concentrated in the rear axle tires. Safety risk: The rear tire traction failure created a sudden and unexpected vehicle handling instability on a public road. The near-loss-of-vehicle-control incident posed a direct risk of collision to the driver and other road users. Dealer/service confirmation: The problem has not yet been confirmed by a dealer or service center — a tire center inspection appointment is scheduled. Results will be available following that appointment. Manufacturer/police/insurance inspection: The vehicle and tires have not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Warning symptoms prior to failure: No warning lamps, messages, or audible warnings appeared prior to or during the traction loss event. The failure occurred without any prior indication of a problem. Tread wear appeared visually normal at the time of the incident. Assessment: The BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A is marketed and sold as an all-season tire suitable for wet road conditions. The tire's performance in heavy rain is inconsistent with that representation and appears to constitute a safety defect. Multiple independent tire testing souRead more
