After getting new tires installed at Walmart I heard a loud knocking noise when turning the steering wheel. The Walmart tech thought that it was because the tires were too big/wide. Tesla said they probably forgot to put the car in Jack Mode and the air suspension fully deflated. Once the sir suspension return to normal the knocking noise is still there, although not as loud and not as frequent. B
... oth the Walmart technician and Tesla technician confirmed the noise. Tesla said my front fore and aft links (aka Control Arms) are worn and in need of replacement. I read that this is a common issue and that Tesla has done a lot of repairs both in and out of warranty (Some goodwill repairs). [XXX] technician talks as if the parts are wear items. I asked why they don't have them in the service manual and I wasn't given a good answer. The technician said that the bushings and ball bearings are wear items and that the fore and aft links get replaced along with them. I was given an estimate of $2,330.69 for the repair. The entire rear section/walls of the camper have lifted and separated from the main frame. I demanded Grand Design come and take it away. I let them know it has major failure and is a safety hazard, they sent a driver to tow it back to their factory, I even let the driver know it should not be towed because the entire body at the rear has separated from the frame and could detach causing further risk to him and others. They didn't care, and away it went. Mine isn't the only one. There are several other I found out about that the body was detaching from the frame.Read more

The screws of front left lower control arm my Model Y came off. It was covered under my warranty as the car only has 16,700 miles on it. The service center was unable to diagnose the root cause of this issue. The service center indicated that they have seen similar issues to this, but in very rare instances. They said the car is now safe to drive, but this was something I have never had happen with any other car in 30 years of driving. However, I felt that I had to notify someone of this issue.Read more

I have been experiencing floor squeaking for more than a year now. It's in the front of the fifth wheel in what is the bedroom. Extending into the hallway, and bathroom. I tried to contact grand design and was told it was ok and to add wood shims into the framing under the bedroom flooring. This only help minimally for a couple of weeks. Then the loudness and softness of the flooring has gotten wo
... rse. We also lost a wheel and tire due to a suspension failure resulting in the wheel to be ripped from the hub and axle while going down a two lane highway at approximately 40 mph. 8 lug bolts were sheared completely off the wet bolt holding the springs were also broken. I again contacted grand design and dexter the axle manufacturer and was denied coverage at both locations. I do believe I'm suffering from some amount of frame failure. However I cannot get grand design to agree to check on how bad the frame issue really is. I had a SRT from grand design work on my tv in December of 2022. However he never finished all the issues we had brought to grand designs attention. Now that was over a year and a half ago since we saw the SRT, I have tried to contact him numerous times I never heard back from the SRT. We just heard that grand design has extended all frame warranties from 2 years to 5 years effective immediately from the 2020 model year. However it doesn't cover second owners or anyone before the 2020 model year. The unit I have a 2022 GD Solitude 390 rk-r. I ordered this rv new from the factory with 8k axles and disc brakes to make sure I had the highest amount of structure under the rv that was available at the time. I believe and the science will bear out these 18k rv’s should have come with triple 8k axles. Not twin 7k axles and subgrade steel frame structures. There are going to be very serious accidents with these rv’s until they are all recalled, a third 8k axle added and beefed up Frame structure completed. These rv’s are the same as the momentum line has.Read more

My car began making a loud creaking noise that was palpable in the gas pedal on turns, especially when turning into an incline. ... was safe and no there was no earlier time. Soon thereafter I pulled into a parking spot and heard a very loud noise from the front left and got out to find the left front wheel bent inward and support components hanging from the bottom of the car in contact with the pavement. Per Tesla service's report, "front suspension damage and driver side front finder damage...left front strut damage, front sub-frame assembly damage, lower lateral links damage, aero shield is damaged, and both front lateral and compliance link brushings torn." Recommend to replace front suspension lower lateral and compliance links, both front upper control arms, left front strut, front sub-frame assembly and perform four wheel alignment. Steering rack feels harder than normal while turning on the lift. Recommend to replace steering rack assembly" The technician stated that this appeared to be due to "collision damage". The car was hit while parked a year ago, but a Tesla-authorized collision repair facility did not identify damage to any of these components at the time of repair. The quote for repair currently is $7374.47.Read more

The rear subframe is compromised; it separated from the body of the car. The vehicle is in my driveway and available for inspection should the need arise. The rear end had felt a bit shaky for a month so I took it to my mechanic, who declared the vehicle "unfit for the road" due to the fact that the subframe was rotted away and detached from the car itself. I was told one big bump is an accident
... waiting to happen...pieces of the car would go flying and I could be left with zero mobility to evade oncoming traffic. The possibility of projectiles injuring anyone around the car was enough for me to park it. The car has not been inspected by Mazda, the police, or insurance because there was no accident. Since it's not safe to drive, I took the word of my independent mechanic rather than driving it to a dealership. There were no warnings other than a bit of a sway in the rear end, which I originally attributed to its age. I've researched the issue and it seems to be a result of subpar quality with regard to the metal that was used in manufacturing.Read more

I purchased by 2022 BMW X3 new in September of 2021. Since then I have had re-occurring safety issues with the car involving steering and suspension components. I've had the front thrust rod replaced at least three times. The vehicle clunks when in reverse and consumes front tires. I had to order front tires for the car with only about 15k miles on them. I had the vehicle alignment checked mu
... ltiple times and was informed that the car is in correct alignment specs. My biggest frustration is that BMW consistently lies to me and does everything in it's power to deny that there are issues with the vehicle. The thrust rod issue is a known issue which has multiple technical service bulletins. They actually re-engineered the part because it was designed so poorly that they constantly break. BMW, of course, has tried to hide this information and denies that there is anything wrong with the component. I was informed that they would be placing a re-engineered part on my car once it was available - however they had no ETA according to the dealership because BMW needs so many of these parts to replace their faulty components. When I refused to pick up the car suddenly a re-engineered part was available. I have dozens of service invoices for this issue and e-mails with the dealership and BMW representatives lying and covering up information to prevent a recall of their substandard vehicle. Recently, my steering wheel has started to get "stuck" while driving. I have to use brute force to move the wheel which results in erratic maneuvers on the highway. I brought the vehicle back to BMW who, as usual, said there is nothing wrong with it. When I refused to drive the car due to safety concerns, suddenly it needs a new steering column. Upon research, this is also apparently a huge issue with the X3's. My vehicle has proven unsafe to drive and BMW has no concern about my safety or welfare. I have a lot of evidence and service invoices if needed.Read more

Took delivery of this new 2024 on [XXX], 2024. There has been a know problem with the rear stabilizing jacks being installed too long. Mine measure 3-5" from the ground when attached to the truck and level. This creates a a dangerous issue if a jack strikes
