The vehicle’s front suspension began making loud squeaking noises and felt unstable while driving, especially when turning or going over uneven surfaces. At times, the vehicle does not make a proper turn and almost feels like it loses grip, which is extremely unsafe. I brought the vehicle to a Tesla service center. After inspection, Tesla provided a service estimate and documentation confirming
... the failure of the front lower lateral links — the exact part and condition described in NHTSA Safety Recalls 21V835000 and 23V235000, which cover defective front suspension lateral link fasteners on this vehicle make, model, and year. Despite the clear match, Tesla did not recognize the repair as recall-related and categorized it as a customer-pay service. This raises concern that some affected vehicles are being excluded from proper recall coverage, despite experiencing the same safety defects. There were no warning lights or alerts prior to the failure. The issue was confirmed by Tesla and the part is available for inspection upon request.Read more

I have had a multitude of issues regarding the steering and suspension of my 2012 ford escape limited. I have replaced the same parts multiple times over a short period of time. But anyway this led to me finding out that my front passenger subframe is rotted. Which led me t
... o a community chat about this vehicle where I found people that have had accidents been hurt and this is a common thing to happen with this vehicle. The subframe should not rot especially on one side I’m particularly without a reason. There is a recall for some 2012 ford escapes for this part but for some reason my car is not on that recall. My car is now a danger to drive. The recall should include all vehicles that have the issue with that part. My vehicle is unsafe to drive now. Idk how long it’s been like that. I’ve had part after part replaced because of this but no one had figured it out until my most recent mechanic. I have had my wheel fall off my vehicle while driving when my first control arm broke because the rot in the subframe is causing the rubber inside the control arm to wear fast. So when my control arm broke when I was driving luckily I was on a street rd not a highway I was not hurt but had to get it towed. My wheel dropped a second time while I was driving because of the same issue where the rot on the subframe is, is at the connection to the control arm where the rubber is. So there’s 2 times I could’ve been seriously hurt. I drive on the highway a lot. I have been very lucky. There is cases of people being hurt and having accidents because of this. I’m on a chat about this vehicle where an overwhelming amount of owners have the same exact issue with this part.Read more

Dear National Recall Team, I am writing to report a recurring and potentially hazardous issue with my vehicle that has not yet been addressed through a recall. Since July 2024, I have experienced a problem with the steering wheel intermittently getting stuck, accompanied by a rattling noise from the left side of the vehicle. During a routine oil change, I asked the service technician to inspect
... the issue, but I was told everything appeared normal. Despite this, the problem has continued. I followed up with several phone calls but was consistently told that no issues could be found. I brought the vehicle back in again on Friday, where they replaced the brake fluid, yet once again reported no findings. Unfortunately, the steering issue and rattling noise persist, and I am increasingly concerned for my safety while operating the vehicle. When I contacted customer service, I was informed that only vehicles from model years 2022–2024 are currently covered under a recall for steering-related problems. As my vehicle does not fall within that range, I was told I do not qualify for assistance — despite experiencing similar symptoms. I respectfully request that this issue be investigated further, as it appears to pose a serious safety risk. I am happy to provide additional documentation or bring the vehicle in for inspection if needed. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.Read more

Subject: Urgent Safety Complaint Regarding Jeep with Death Wobble – Purchased from Maxon Buick GMC, Union, NJ Dear NHTSA, I am writing to report a serious safety issue involving a Jeep SUV I purchased for my son on [XXX], from Maxon Buick GMC located in Union, New Jersey. The vehicle was purchased for over $30,000, and within the first day of driving, my son began experiencing what is commonly
... referred to as the "Death Wobble." This violent shaking occurs unexpectedly while driving and has been happening every day since the vehicle was purchased. After doing some research, we learned that the “Death Wobble” is a known issue with certain Jeep models, and the symptoms are consistent with what my son has experienced. It is extremely frightening and dangerous, and I am deeply concerned for his safety and the safety of others on the road. I do not understand how a dealership is allowed to sell a vehicle in this condition. Selling a vehicle with such a potentially deadly defect is both irresponsible and unethical. This issue must be investigated and addressed immediately to prevent further risk to drivers and passengers. Please consider this an urgent request to look into this matter. I would appreciate confirmation of this complaint and any information on what steps will be taken to hold the dealership and manufacturer accountable. While driving on the freeway, I heard an unusual noise coming from beneath the battery of my car. Concerned, I drove to a nearby friend's house and parked there, carefully checking my dashboard for any warning signals but finding none. I decided to resume my journey, but as I backed out of the driveway, I heard a sudden noise indicating something had come loose, followed by a crackling sound. Upon
... inspecting the car, I discovered that the control arm had become detached, the axle had popped out, and two bolts had come off. During the towing process, I noticed that the steering had become extremely tight. To my surprise, I had never received any recall notice from Tesla addressing this issue. Considering that my car is less than two years old, I was deeply disturbed by the situation. This incident has significantly undermined my confidence in the safety of the vehicle, as it highlights a potential manufacturing defect involving defective parts. I regularly use this car to drive my children to their activities, and knowing that this could have led to a catastrophic failure such as tire separation, loss of steering control, or compromised braking capabilities especially on the freeway, is worrying. The car was towed to a dealer and currently in the queue for evaluation by tesla technicians. I requested detailed service report from Irvine service center. There were no warning indicators in the dashboard while I was driving or after the bolts came loose.Read more

mechanical and safety-related failures observed in a Mercedes-Benz vehicle, specifically involving the suspension system, wheels, and braking components. Despite extensive repair efforts—including replacement of all four wheels and tires, complete AWD four-wheel alignment, and diagnostics performed at authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships—the underlying issues persist. To date, the total cost i
... ncurred in attempting to remedy these defects exceeds $15,848. The vehicle and its components have been inspected by two independent Mercedes-Benz dealer service centers and a certified third-party auto inspection firm. All parties have confirmed, through drive testing and diagnostics, that the problems are reproducible and continue to impair vehicle safety and performance. The suspension and associated hardware have been identified as the root cause of instability and braking inconsistencies. These findings align with broader patterns observed in similar vehicles, suggesting a recurring defect that warrants intervention by the manufacturer. Despite clear evidence from multiple independent sources, the manufacturer has failed to initiate a recall or implement corrective measures. This failure poses an ongoing safety risk to operators and the general public. The vehicle remains available for further inspection upon request. These are all problems that are not caused by general wear and tear of your customer they are caused by incompetent of Putting the car together in the first place. I really expected More from Ford. The first time I drove a Ford escape I fell in love with it so I want like I’ll regret ever buying this car. This car needs to be completely recalled. I am submitting a formal complaint regarding multiple premature and potentially safety-related failures on my 2019 Ford Flex, purchased new on 11/25/2019. These include: ⚠️ 1. ... re wear Clunking or loose feeling from the rear suspension I have an appointment scheduled for August 6, 2025 to inspect the rear toe bar links, as I suspect they are defective or misaligned — the exact condition the recall addresses. 💧 2. This is a known issue in several Ford engines, and repair was required out-of-pocket despite the vehicle being well maintained. 🚗 3. These parts did not appear to be securely fastened from the factory. 🛞 4. Premature Tire Wear Rear tires wore out far earlier than expected — possibly linked to suspension or alignment issues, including the toe link concerns mentioned above. ⚡ 5. Ongoing Electrical Failures Since August 2022, I have had to return to the dealership multiple times for electrical system issues: 8/3/2022 11/2/2022 2/14/2024 These included battery/electrical drain issues and warning system malfunctions, which affect the vehicle’s reliability and safety. These problems began less than 3 years after purchasing the car new. These issues raise serious concerns about the overall build quality and long-term safety of the 2019 Ford Flex. I am concerned that my vehicle may have: Been excluded from critical recalls, despite showing identical failure patterns Undergone multiple early mechanical and electrical repairs Developed safety-related defects that compromise both driver & public safety.Read more
