The suspension module failed due to water accumulation on floorboards. Suspect other electronics may be at risk. Water ingress cause by a combination of what dealer said was a worn out sunroof gasket and two of four drains that became plugged. Further examination from dealer found the plugged drains were crimped from when the vehicle was manufactured. The dealer blamed the excessive water ingress
... was further allowed by a failed sunroof seal. The vehicle has always been serviced by the dealer and problem areas like that were either not inspected or not reported. The seal appears as good as the day we purchased vehicle from dealer. It seems it needs a more expert eye to detect how it fails. The result was standing water in the floor boards and body cavities, which then caused the suspension module to fail. The entire interior had to be disassembled to verify there was no further electrical damage. The dashboard and other interior pieces needed to be removed to replace or correct the drains. This appears to be a common problem with this model although no service advisories seem to have been issued. Total estimated damage is about $5200. Vehicle has only 60K miles. Volvo has rejected responsibility for the compromised drain and failed sunroof seal. Service documentation attached, not including the estimated $1700 to remove dash for repairs.Read more

The front driver-side lower control arm bolt completely fell off the vehicle while in motion at 5pm in a parking lot. The failure was witnessed and confirmed by the roadside assistance tow truck operator. The operator had to temporarily jack
... up the car and fasten the bolt back into the control arm just to safely load the vehicle onto the tow truck. The vehicle is currently awaiting formal inspection and repair by an auto repair shop. The vehicle and the detached bolt were inspected at the scene by the tow truck operator dispatched through my auto insurance. An initial claim was reported to my auto insurance provider. It has not yet been inspected by Tesla yet. There were no warning lamps, error messages, or prior symptoms. The failure happened suddenly and without warning; I simply heard a loud noise, felt the vehicle physically shift and drop to the ground.Read more

The vehicle has experienced recurring suspension, drivability, and pulling issues associated with the 4-corner air ride leveling suspension system since early ownership. The first major incident occurred at approximately 4,600 miles when the vehicle displayed suspension warnings and would not accelerate properly past highway speeds. Since that time, the vehicle has repeatedly experienced pulling d
... uring acceleration, unstable ride behavior, suspension/leveling concerns, alignment-related issues, and drivability instability. The problem has been reproduced multiple times and documented through approximately 16 repair visits and roughly 74 cumulative days out of service. Dealership service records include repeated suspension inspections, drivability evaluations, wheel alignments, and related repair attempts. The issue remains unresolved and the vehicle is currently back in service again for the same concern. The recurring pulling and instability create safety concerns because the vehicle does not consistently track properly during acceleration and normal driving conditions. Suspension warning messages and drivability symptoms first appeared early in ownership while the vehicle was still under factory warranty. I have also found many similar owner complaints online involving the same suspension system in comparable GM full-size SUV models.Read more

The control arms on all make and models of tesla have a horrible design that all water off of the car flows down the sides of the front hood and down onto the control arm bushing. This part design needs to be recalled and all persons have free repairs. According to sources, driving with severely worn control arm bushings can lead to a fatal accident. While bushings often start as a minor nuisance, complete failure compromises the structural integrity of your vehicle's suspension. Don't wait till deaths start happening. Protect the customer and others and send a recall on this. Yiu can Google tesla control arm issues and and see over and over in videos and forums that this is a major issue.Read more

Please consider opening or expanding an investigation into frame, underbody, brake-line, and suspension-mount corrosion affecting Toyota FJ Cruisers. I own a 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser 4WD. A professional inspection found multiple fluid leaks, heavy rust, rusted exhaust, leaking rear shocks, and brake line/hose concerns. After reviewing the condition, the mechanic essentially declined to repair it and
... recommended scrapping the vehicle. The attached photos show conditions that appear safety-relevant: rust perforation through underbody structural metal near a bracket/crossmember area; severe corrosion around brake lines and fittings; widespread scaling near suspension and frame components; a leaking rear shock; and badly deteriorated exhaust connections. This is not just appearance rust. Also note the contrast between the observable condition of the vehicle versus the problems hidden beneath. This rust is clearly outpacing normal wear and tear. The safety risk is straightforward. At interstate speeds, a corroded brake line could fail during emergency braking. A weakened shock mount, suspension bracket, or crossmember could fail when the vehicle hits a pothole, uneven bridge plate, or highway debris. In dense, aggressive traffic, especially where vehicles travel 70+ mph, any sudden loss of braking, stability, or rear-end structural integrity could cause a spinout, rollover, or multi-vehicle crash. I understand Toyota has previously addressed severe corrosion on other truck platforms. I urge NHTSA to review whether the FJ Cruiser has a similar pattern of premature or excessive structural corrosion. Owners may not know the vehicle is unsafe until a mechanic refuses repair or a component fails. Please review consumer complaints, inspection photos, and corrosion-related failures before this becomes a fatal incident.Read more

Vehicle was determined to be unsafe to operate per inspection performed by Mike Maroone Chevrolet on 8/26/24 immediately after I purchased from Rocky Mountain Auto Brokers in Colorado Springs on 8/8/26. It was discovered by customer immediately after sale that bank 2 catalytic converter was restricted internally (after Rocky Mountain failed to correctly diagnose and repair 3 times before and after

After warranty repair inspection of vehicle determined it was not safe for customer to pick up and drive vehicle and generated a report and video showing front suspension damage so loose that could cause crash and vehicle was towed back to Rocky Mountain for repairs. Rocky Mountain has failed to provide any documentation on these repairs and many subsequent repairs including transmission replacement after many written requests. Customer cannot verify if vehicle repairs brought vehicle back to a safe condition. Almost anll repairs by Rocky Mountain has failed resulting in missing bolts, bolts falling out after transmission replacement As well as failure of many CV Axel replacements documented in their own records. Extended Warranty Company also refuses to provide documentation of transmission replacement after they supplied the part (transmission) to Rocky Mountain for installation. Customer cannot verify if in fact transmission was replaced as it was painted black. Any warranty on replaced transmission cannot be verified and they also have refused to provide documentation or serial number verifying same after many written requests. Customer would like to submit a detailed letter and safety inspection report with further info and details in addition to this online form complaint as this is a complex case and additional info will further prove up these allegations. My 2019 Dodge Durango R/T began experiencing drivetrain and warning system issues after collision/body repairs were completed by a repair facility. I have video documentation related to this interaction. After the repairs, additional problems began appearing including: * Service AWD warning * Traction control warning indicators * Ongoing drivetrain concerns * Diagnosis involving transfer case/internal damage and burnt fluid The vehicle was later reported to have transfer case clutch failure and internal drivetrain-related issues despite the original repair scope not documenting drivetrain damage. My concern is that the post-repair warnings and drivetrain symptoms may indicate improper inspection, repair, reassembly, fluid servicing, calibration, or unresolved damage related to the repair process. The vehicle has been inspected by the repair facility and diagnostic information was later provided identifying drivetrain/transfer case issues.Read more

I have experienced a persistent steering and suspension-related issue with my 2019 Toyota 4Runner since early ownership, beginning at approximately 6,800 miles. The vehicle repeatedly pulls/drifts to the right at highway speeds and requires constant steering correction. I have also experienced steering wheel vibration and instability, particularly at speeds above approximately 50–60 MPH. Over s
... everal years, the vehicle has undergone multiple alignments, tire rotations, balancing procedures, and dealership inspections; however, the condition has never been resolved. Toyota dealership records document abnormal tire wear including feathering and cupping. Recent service documentation states the alignment could only be adjusted “to best ability.” A prior independent inspection identified possible lower control arm bushing concerns. Despite this, the vehicle was reportedly operating “within factory specifications.” The condition has persisted through multiple sets of tires and repeated service visits. The ongoing steering pull, vibration, and instability create a safety concern during highway driving because the vehicle does not consistently track straight and requires repeated steering correction. The issue has been reproducible over multiple years and has not been permanently corrected despite repeated repair attempts and inspections. No warning lights were present at the time of the condition.Read more

The vehicle experienced a failure involving the automatic transmission gear shift cable (recall AOC 2013–2016). The gear selector indicated the vehicle was in “Park,” but the transmission was not fully engaged in Park due to the defective shift cable/bushing. This created a significant safety risk, as the vehicle was capable of rolling unexpectedly after being placed in Park. This condition
... puts the driver, passengers, pedestrians, and surrounding property at risk of injury or damage, especially when parked on an incline or in populated areas. There were no clear or consistent warning indicators prior to the issue. The vehicle appeared to be safely secured, which increases the possibility of an accident or death because the driver may exit the vehicle believing it will remain stationary. This issue is consistent with a known recall involving the shift cable assembly. The defect appears to be intermittent and not always easily reproducible, but it directly impacts the vehicle’s ability to remain securely in Park. At this time, the vehicle has not received a complete or reliable remedy, and the condition raises ongoing safety concerns. The component can be made available for inspection upon request. Because this defect affects a critical safety function and can lead to unintended vehicle movement, it presents a serious hazard. I am submitting this complaint to document the issue and request further investigation and resolution.Read more

The lane keep assist has never worked. It doesn't not keep you in the lane, it just chimes when you drift out of it. The bigger issue is the axles. Turns and propulsion are slower as time goes on and the clicking gets louder. Honda knowingly continues to sell these cars for up to $60,000 and no longer offers a remedy for the faulty axles. ... Toyota, and they were convinced it was the Torque Converter and wanted $1300 to fix it. I paid them and after a few weeks they claimed it was the Transmission and wanted more money which they were paid. Weeks went by and no updates from them and they weren’t responding to my messages. When they finally responded they started saying the starter was bad, the differential, the fly wheel, etc, Again, we paid them more money, and again weeks went by without any updates. We paid a total of $9000.00 Their last attempt to fix the vehicle also failed and I’m left with a vehicle with no transmission, the entire front end taken apart and scattered all over my property and this was their last response. “Oh lord. So the original place we got the transmission from denied the warranty, but at the time it wasnt a problem we have insurance. So we summited a claim and thats why it was going to be shipped from another place. Well they kept telling me that it was coming this day then that day. I got a letter denying the claim Instead. I have tried to fight it, but they ended up dropping us after that. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The rear control arm (rear suspension component) failed catastrophically by snapping while the vehicle was in motion. This is a critical structural component responsible for maintaining proper wheel alignment and vehicle stability. The failed part has been retained and is available for inspection upo
... n request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The sudden failure of the rear control arm placed my husband and son in immediate danger. This component is essential for maintaining control of the vehicle; when it snapped, it compromised the stability and handling of the rear wheel, significantly increasing the risk of loss of control, collision, or rollover. The failure occurred without warning while driving, creating a serious and unpredictable hazard not only for them but also for surrounding drivers on the road. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The failure has been visually confirmed by a service provider as a snapped rear control arm. Additionally, this issue is widely documented as a known defect in similar vehicles, with multiple reports indicating premature failure of this component under normal driving conditions. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? At this time, the component has been inspected by a service professional. The dealership has been contacted but declined assistance, citing that the vehicle falls just outside of the extended warranty parameters, despite the nature of the failure. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lights, messages, or noticeable symptoms prior to the failure. The control arm snapped suddenly and without any indication, which underscores the dangerous and unpredictable natureRead more

Repairs of the control arms indicated on recall NHTSA 16V-596 were never done on my vehicle after the recall was issued in 2016. Smart motors Toyota in Madison confirmed that the replacement of the control arms was never done on my vehicle, but they are showing no open recalls on my vehicle in their system due to this being a re-recall. From what I've read many vehicles were incorrectly marked "co
... mplete" after the 2012 inspection, but the 2016 update (G0V) was issued specifically because those earlier inspections were found to be insufficient. I am entitled to this repair through Toyota due to this recall as Toyota has confirmed my vehicle was recalled and this repair was never completed. My rear control arms are showing signs of failure consistent with the re-recall.Read more

I am filing this complaint regarding multiple serious safety defects in my 2021 Subaru Outback purchased in July 2021, currently at 48000 miles THERMO CONTROL VALVE FAILURE (26,307 miles) While traveling in the center lane on [XXX] southbound in [XXX] the evening of 1/6/2024 my vehicle suddenly experienced a complete loss of control. It seemed that the car was accelerating and braking at the s
... ame time without driver input making it impossible to operate safely. It started shaking and several lights were illuminated on the dashboard, power steering was not working. The car coasted to the right shoulder and starlink was used to call for help. The car was towed to the dealership for repairs. The diagnosis was a failed thermo control valve and related sensor circuit. There were no dashboard lights before the incident that fore shadowed this event. This failure rendered the vehicle completely inoperable at highway speed and posed and extreme risk to the safety of the driver, passenger and other motorists. I am aware that Subaru has extended the warranty on the thermo controls valve to 15 years/150000 miles for 2020-2022 Outback’s which suggests that Subaru had knowledge of the defect. Since the incident several other premature “wear” defects have presented under 48000 miles on a 2021 vehicle: - 41,402 miles: driver side rear strut replaced - 41,402 miles: rear brake pads and rotors - 41,402 miles: driver side front window motor, regulator and run Chanel - 41808 miles: rear knuckle assembly, rear wheel bearing and backing plate replaced - 45,768 miles: front brake pads and and rotors replaced - 48,000 miles: complete exhaust system - 48,000 miles: passenger side front window motor, regulator and run chanel This vehicle has proven to be uncharacteristically unreliable for a Subaru Outback. The intended use for this vehicle is for my children to drive to college nearly 600 miles from home in the fall. This car is not appropriate for this purpose. There is suspension noise coming from driver side when driving in low speed (10-30mph). You can feel it when turning and accelerating slowly. It started around 9000 miles after first service of the car. There was no noticeable noise before. Reported to dealer but they cannot fix it and told me everything looks normal.

I purchased my 2025 Palomino Columbus RV in February of 2025. I have towed it less than 600 miles, so including the delivery from the factory the RV has less than 2,000 miles. While inspecting the RV I noticed that the wheel spacing between the front and rear tires was different from side to side. The passenger (right) side was 5" but the driver's (left) side was 8.5". I inspected the suspension a
... nd found that the left side rear axle had slipped back on the leaf spring. The leaf spring centering pin had sheared allowing the axle to move back. The u-bolt hardware was tight. I did notify the RV and axle manufacturers. The RV manufacturer, Forest River, told me to contact the axle manufacturer, [XXX] , who in response had offered to provide two new leaf springs and pay for an hour of labor to have the springs replaced, which I believe is fair. I decided to upgrade the suspension but thought this was a very unsafe issue that should be recorded to ensure it was a one off issue and not systemic. I have no complaints regarding either of the manufacturers handling of the issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Safety Complaint Description Vehicle: 2025 Kia Sportage Hybrid LX 2025 Mileage: ~6,000 miles Issue status: Ongoing, multiple dealer visits (3 attempts), unresolved Related Kia case number: [XXX] Problem Description The vehicle demonstrates significant highway instability and unsafe handling behavior under normal driving conditions. At highway speeds (approximately 50–70 mph), the vehicle exhib
... its excessive lateral movement and instability, especially after hitting potholes or uneven road surfaces. The car shifts horizontally after impacts, requiring immediate steering correction to maintain lane position. On grooved concrete highways (such as interstate routes toward [XXX] [XXX] ), the vehicle feels like it is floating and swaying continuously, even without strong wind conditions. The vehicle is also highly sensitive to moderate crosswinds (around 20–25 mph). At highway speeds, this results in noticeable rear-end drift and instability, requiring frequent steering corrections and creating concern about potential loss of control. Overall, the handling behavior is beyond normal expectations for this vehicle class and creates a safety concern at highway speeds. Safety Concern These conditions create a risk of loss of vehicle control, particularly: -After hitting potholes at highway speeds -During moderate crosswinds -On grooved or uneven concrete highways The instability increases driver workload and raises concern about potential accident risk if overcorrection occurs. Repair Attempts The issue has been reported to the dealer and service center three times, but no permanent resolution has been achieved. The problem remains reproducible under normal driving conditions. Additional Notes Concern exists regarding whether proper pre-delivery inspection (PDI) or alignment verification was fully completed prior to delivery, as the issue has been present since early ownership and persists at ~6,000 miles. Persistent unresolved front-suspension defect on a 2022 Polestar 2 (Polestar Approved CPO, purchased 03/20/2025). Vehicle pulls right under normal driving on flat, level pavement — a directional control hazard requiring constant steering correction at highway speed. A front-suspension noise over bumps developed after recent repairs. The Polestar-authorized dealer (University Volvo / Polestar Ch
... arlotte) made FIVE repair attempts on this same complaint without resolving it: 10/23/2025; 11/04/2025; 04/01/2026; 04/15/2026; and 04/17–04/27/2026. Five alignments performed. Both upper strut bearings replaced 04/15/2026 (Inv #XXX , $1,499.44). On the next visit the dealer replaced a control arm and did additional shock and bearing work as no-charge line items (Inv #263452, $279.19) — implicitly acknowledging the prior repair was inadequate. Within one block of leaving the dealer on 04/15, vehicle developed a new front-right rattle that did not exist before. Dealer's own technician notes on Inv #XXX state verbatim: "test drove vehicle and could not verify any pulling while driving" — repair performed WITHOUT confirmed symptom reproduction. As of 05/04/2026 (six days after pickup), vehicle is again pulling right and now has a NEW noise over bumps. Condition is materially worse than before any repair. This is the subject of Polestar Technical Journal TJ XXX (NHTSA document MC-XXX-0001), which acknowledges creaking/knocking from the upper front suspension on Polestar 2 MY 2021–2024 and states a redesigned upper bearing was released Q4 2023, with a further redesign in week 20 of 2024. Polestar has acknowledged in writing this component was defective and redesigned TWICE. Polestar Customer Engagement has refused to escalate to a contact with authority to remedy. Filing for ODI trend analysis, federal record of the defect and failed repairs, and to flag a known-defect CPO sale unremedied under warranty.
