While accelerating and decelerating, there is a low popping noise that comes from under the floor of the car. It sounds like metal reacting to a change in temperature when it pops, like if you pour hot water into a metal sink. This has been a consistent issue for over a year, and despite the dealerships attempts to fix the issue by replacing the sway bar and tightening the suspension and upper and
... lower control arms, the noise persists during acceleration and deceleration. The dealership was able to reproduce the issue when we have taken it in. There are no warning lights associated with this issue. If this issue is related to the battery or to the breaks, it could be a serious safety problem. We've taken it in for this issue 4 times and we'll take it in again this week, and the dealership has held the car for over two weeks total to try to fix it.Read more

January 10, 2025, at low city speed, I struck a small pothole. The entire car felt like it had been in an accident—a violent jolt—followed by immediate vibration and a pull. Inspection showed one OEM 18" rim was bent. I contacted Mazda after diagnosing and was offered a slight discount on the replacement rim, not a warranty repair or full diagnosis. I have the bent rim in my possession. Jul
... y 2025, at low speed, I barely contacted another small pothole and immediately felt the same drivability issues. A second rim was found damaged. This was only 4,500 miles after the first incident. I called the dealership manager; he said he would get back to me but never did. I later sent a letter that went unanswered. My subsequent research shows innumerable similar owner complaints for 2020–2025 Mazda 3s experiencing rim deformation from ordinary road irregularities. Why this is a safety issue (technical points): Bead-seat deformation & air loss: A bent alloy rim can distort the bead seat, causing slow leaks or sudden deflation, especially after heat cycles—creating a loss-of-control risk. Dynamic instability: A rim that’s even slightly out-of-round produces high-frequency vibration, steering pull, and reduced traction in turns or under braking; it can trigger ABS/ESC interventions and increase stopping distance. Load path & suspension stress: The 18" low-profile package leaves little sidewall cushion. On normal bumps/potholes, impact energy transfers directly to the wheel. Repeated “bottom-out” events may damage shocks/struts, alignment, and tires, compounding instability. Repeatability & foreseeability: Two events under ordinary use within a short interval indicate a systemic integrity problem, not random abuse. Requested resolution: A no-cost remedy: (1) replace all rims/tires with more durable parts and inspect/repair suspension; or (2) provide comprehensive wheel/tire protection and repair damaged rim; or (3) exchange he vehicle for a comparable model with no issueRead more

Subject: Safety Complaint – 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer – Multiple Safety-Critical Failures and Warranty Concerns. I am the owner of a 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer (purchase price $114,000 USD), well maintained and currently with 41,000 miles. Despite careful use, it has developed multiple recurring electrical and mechanical failures that present serious safety risks: •Parking and side sensors fai
... l, making obstacle and blind-spot detection unreliable. •Rear-view camera often shows a solid blue screen in reverse, leaving no rear visibility. •Main display flickers, freezes, or shuts off; infotainment reboots while driving, disabling controls. •Entire electronic system resets mid-drive, affecting safety features. •Power liftgate fails to open. •Air suspension changes height on its own, affecting handling and stability. While the basic 36,000-mile warranty has expired, the vehicle still has a 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Many of these failures involve safety-critical systems that should be addressed without cost to the owner. I recently brought the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealer, who charged $1,399 USD just for diagnostics instead of addressing them under warranty or goodwill. These issues are widely reported by other 2022 Grand Wagoneer owners, suggesting systemic defects. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate promptly, require Jeep/Stellantis to issue recalls where necessary, provide a permanent fix, and ensure dealers address safety-related defects regardless of basic warranty expiration.Read more

My rear shocks have been corroding on the external resevior attached to the lower shock body and is rusting really bad in the exact place where the manufacturer of this vehicle says that it's breaking down ( rusting ) at. I want the dealership of the manufacturer to replace my rear shocks with new shocks and not put RTV sealant and a retention clamp on this external resevior as stated as one of the remedies the manufacturer has listed in a letter sent out to all of it's dealerships about the manufacturers recall on the rear shocks . In the manufacturer's letter it does state that one of the remedies is replacing the shocks but ONLY if the shocks are leaking oil from the shock resevior/ flange damper area . Discount tire and Michelin are trying to claim this is an alignment issue citing too much camber. This is a false claim. The area of separation is not in the contact patch with the surface of the road. This is a defect in engineering and construction in the tire itself. This calls for a mass recall. I put the trust of my pregnant wife into these tires and she complained to me about a wallowing car ride with a decrease in handling, especially over bumps and on the highway. I could not see an issue. A few days later she informed me of a tire pressure indicator on the dashboard. It indicated tow low rear tires. Upon inspecting the tires I found both sides with a decoupled sidewall. Driver side being far worse than passenger. I immediately drove to Discount tire and the tire pressure sank from 26psi to 8psi in less than 4 miles. This could have proved fatal for my wife and unborn child on the highway. The tire company and the stores dont want to accept accountability. The stores just want to sell more tires. I am having them replaced at a cost of $610 per tire. To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this letter to formally report a safety-related defect involving my leased Infiniti vehicle, serviced at Edison Infiniti in New Jersey on August 1, 2025. Despite reporting excessive tire wear and a persistent pull to the right, the dealership concluded that the alignment was within factory specifications and attributed the damage solely to a lack of tire rot
... ation. Based on this assessment, I paid out of pocket for a wheel alignment and replacement tires. However, the condition of the removed front tires tells a different story. The tires show extreme treadwear down to the internal cords, a clear indication of prolonged misalignment or defective suspension geometry. This level of degradation is not consistent with normal wear and tear on a vehicle with fewer than 17,000 miles. It compromised steering control and posed a serious safety risk, making it difficult to maintain lane position and safe handling. I believe this issue may reflect a broader defect in alignment or suspension geometry that could affect other vehicles of the same make and model. I have attempted resolution through the dealership and Infiniti Consumer Affairs without success. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this issue as a potential safety defect and advise on next steps.Read more

At approximately 37,000 miles, the CV axles on my 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid required replacement due to premature wear. Now, at around 62,200 miles, the vehicle is experiencing excessive vibration and shaking during acceleration, particularly noticeable at moderate to high speeds. This issue appears to be related to the powertrain or suspension system and may indicate a recurring or unresolved pro
... blem with the CV axles or associated components. The vibrations are severe enough to affect vehicle control, especially during lane changes or merging onto highways. When accelerating to merge into highway traffic, the vehicle shakes and vibrates so profusely that it feels like the car is going to shake apart. This makes it difficult to accelerate normally and safely, putting both the driver and surrounding vehicles at risk. The shaking could lead to loss of traction or steering instability, increasing the likelihood of an accident. This issue has been widely reported by other Ford Maverick owners and has been a frequently discussed problem in forums and owner communities for over a year. Despite its prevalence, there appears to be no long-term fix other than replacing the CV axle assembly with the same OEM part, which may be the root cause of the problem. That is why I feel it is important to bring this to your attention — it is a known issue with no real correction, and it continues to affect vehicle safety. No warning lights or messages appeared prior to the onset of the problem. The component is available for inspection upon request.Read more

Hello, My name is [XXX] . I took our Mazda 6 in for wheel balance and alignment and was informed of very serious rust issues in the rear suspension. I was pretty shocked at what they showed me. I worked at Raben Tire for 10 years and I've never seen anything like this. I have two retired mechanic friends look at it, and they (along with the mechanic from firestone) said they cannot even fatho
... m how this level of rust is possible (80+% of the miles on this vehicle are highway). One of my retired mechanic friends started looking into it and said he'd noticed the 09 Mazda recalls for suspension rust. We all thought that made sense given how immensely abnormal this rusting is. The recall list sent to me says "front" suspension. I'm not sure why the front is listed and not the rear, but this, to all of us, is very clearly faulty (the rusting is INCREDIBLY abnormal) and we believe should be considered as part of the suspension rust recall (there are no rusting issues anywhere else). Ive provided pictures. This is incredibly unsafe. The rear suspension could collapse at any moment while driving and cause casualties. In February 2025, my jeep would flash a “Service Hybrid System” code that would last about 3-5 seconds and disappear. This happened about 4-5 times over the next few months, code would not stay up and vehicle seemed unaffected. On June 10, I was driving with son on a highway about 60 mph when my car completely shut off, no power to engine, no power steering- absolutely nothing. We experienc

I was able to restart my car and drove it in “e-save” mode home. The next day, I drove my car again and had my son and daughter in the vehicle and the same exact thing happened. I was driving about 55mph around a corner with a large semi coming at me in the oncoming lane and my vehicle shut off and lost power and power steering. I was terrified that I would veer into that truck and there was not a shoulder readily available. We had to yet again limp the vehicle a few yards around the corner to pull off and I did not have service. So I had to walk to call my husband to pick my children up. The vehicle has ongoing acceleration delay and jerking under normal driving, along with repeated premature rear brake wear and a major coolant leak that required head gasket replacement. The most recent incident occurred on August 8, 2025, immediately after picking up the vehicle from a service visit for the acceleration concern. Two separate throttle delays with a sudden jerk forward occurred at
... approximately 5:47 PM and 5:50 PM in moderate city traffic at 79°F. These incidents put my safety and the safety of other drivers at risk, as delayed acceleration can prevent safe merging, crossing, or passing. Within the first 25,000 miles of ownership, the vehicle has also required one rear brake replacement and a second replacement was recommended due to premature wear, which could reduce braking performance and stopping distance. Additionally, a coolant leak ultimately required head gasket replacement. Suspension components, including a knuckle, have also been replaced under warranty. The acceleration problem has been reported to authorized Volkswagen dealers, but was documented as “could not reproduce” despite occurring minutes after pickup. Coolant leak and brake issues have been confirmed and repaired or recommended for repair by dealers. There were no warning lights or error messages prior to the acceleration incidents.Read more

2020 F250 Experienced the death wobble while traveling on freeway at 70 mph after running over bumps .
Incident date: Aug 10, 2025
The vehicle wheels and steering wheel bounce and shake when brakes are applied, regardless of the speed level; this felt like I am losing control of the vehicle and as if the wheels, and components of suspension or brake system will collapse all of the sudden. No warning lights came up in the dashboard. The vehicle was inspected by the dealership (Kearny Mesa Ford Service, 7303 Clairemont Mesa Blv
... d, San Diego, CA 92111) and they confirmed the problem, the problem still persisted after they performed checks and repairs, their response was "we are not sure what's causing the problem and we need more time to diagnose.".Read more

I purchased a brand-new 2025 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road. From the first day, the steering wheel was off-center and the vehicle vibrated while driving. At around 500 miles, I noticed severe instability and abnormal tire wear. A wheel alignment report showed: Thrust angle: +0.15° (spec: 0° ± 0.05°) Rear toe: Left 0.23°, Right -0.10° (difference: 0.33°, spec ≤ 0.15°) Front caster: Both
... sides out of specification (shown in red on report) Driving symptoms include: Cannot maintain straight-line driving; requires constant steering correction. Excessive body roll during lane changes or turns. Continuous vibration of the vehicle and steering wheel on smooth roads. Vehicle bounces and momentarily loses control on uneven surfaces. Steering wheel rotation does not match front wheel steering angle. When stationary, turning the steering to full lock causes the body to rise; releasing it causes it to drop. Attempts to repair at Toyota of Manhattan (June 2025 – August 2025) were unsuccessful. The dealership repeatedly refused to perform proper inspections, provide reports, or acknowledge the defect, despite multiple appointments and a case opened with Toyota corporate. The defect presents a serious safety risk: reduced vehicle stability, increased stopping distance, loss of steering control during maneuvers, excessive and uneven tire wear, and abnormal fuel consumption (13.5 MPG with no load). The problem exists from new and has not been corrected.Read more

Front steering knuckle was cracked, Land Rover hadn’t notified me of any issues. I found the recall online, nearest dealer is 4-5 hours away. Was afraid to drive with cracked part. I replaced steering knuckle on my own out of pocket to keep vehicle safe. Vehicle was not in any accident or injuries. Defect found and fixed before anything could happen. Called Land Rover and they said no resolutio
... n for fix and when there was I would receive a letter on how to get it repaired or get reimbursed for repairs I had done to fix. Recall was issued in November of 2024, now August of 2025 still no info from Land Rover and dealer I have been in touch with still has no information either. I purchased parts in mid December of 2024 and had a local repair shop install it on 1-14-2025. Old part was retained as instructed by dealer I have been working with. From my findings in several forums that have members in other countries, they have issued the same recall in Europe and Canada and most vehicles were repaired by being taken into the dealer. Dealer I have been in contact with reported back to me that they had no parts to repair and advised me to get fixed on my own for now.Read more

I am submitting this complaint to raise serious safety concerns regarding the towing capabilities of the 2024 Toyota Sequoia. Despite its advertised towing capacity of up to 9,000 pounds, this vehicle is dangerously unstable when towing even modest travel trailers—particularly single axle models weighing around 4,500 pounds. During a recent vacation, I towed a properly loaded single axle travel
... trailer using my 2024 Sequoia. The trailer was equipped with: A weight distribution hitch Anti-sway bars Balanced tongue weight and cargo distribution Despite these precautions, the Sequoia was thrown around on the highway, requiring constant correction and resulting in a white-knuckle driving experience. My vacation was ruined, and my safety was put at risk. The trailer now sits unused in my driveway because I cannot safely tow it with this vehicle. The instability appears to stem from the Sequoia’s: Short wheelbase, which reduces towing control Soft suspension, tuned for comfort rather than trailer handling Hybrid drivetrain weight distribution, which may compromise rear-end stability These design choices make the Sequoia unsuitable for towing travel trailers, even well below its rated capacity. RV dealerships, including Camping World, routinely sell trailers to Sequoia owners based solely on the published tow rating. There is no warning or advisory provided about the vehicle’s real-world towing limitations. This practice is misleading and dangerous. I urge Toyota and the NHTSA to take the following steps: Issue a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) or formal advisory warning owners about towing instability with the Sequoia. Educate RV dealerships about the limitations of SUV towing dynamics, especially with single axle travel trailers. Investigate owner complaints and consider a broader safety review of the Sequoia’s towing performance. There are multiple online reports and forums where Sequoia owners share similar experiences. This is not an isolated incident—it is a sysRead more

My f250 experiences what is known as death wobble when driving over 50mph and hitting bumps. It's been happening much more frequently as of late. Only way to stop it from wobbling is getting over to the shoulder and slow down to approximately 40-45.
Incident date: Aug 7, 2025
The vehicle shakes violently when applying the brakes over any bump or pothole at slow speeds. This also extends the stopping distance for the car. It has no warning lights. This is a brand new car with only 1200 miles. The problem was able to be confirmed by the dealer but no fix yet.
