in late June 2025, I heard a loud noise in the rear of the Pathfinder, that would happen during normal driving and worsen if I went over a speed bump for example. I took it to a local mechanic . He informed me that the rear subframe was rotted. It was undriveable once I knew how dangerous this situation was. I have a [XXX] child. I am his legal guardian and he lives with me. We spend a lot of time
... going for rides and doing things he likes. I was shocked when I heard what was wrong. Thank God we did not get injured or worse. Now, this frame needs to be replaced and I can imagine the cost to me.I am a retired RN. I have seen a good amount of complaints on line in Google from other Pathfinder owners regarding the exact same issue, Why wasn't there a recall? Will Nissan reimburse me once I get an estimate and the car fixed? This is not fair. I do not tow a boat, the car has not been submerged in water...I Imagine the frame was not prepped properly by Nissan. I know Nissan recalled some vehicles a few years back for the rotted sub frame issue. Now I have to pay for a repair..I need assistance please. I am using someone's car in the meantime. After purchasing seems the vin was updated with information I was not disclosed. The bcm has never worked correctly the instrument panel is erratic and even with a code reader showing P codes there’s no check light. The steering makes the entire vehicle jump over half a road. Blind spot monitors don’t know what to do sometimes they are unavailable, odometer has all 9s sometimes. I did all the
... checks on the vehicle at the time and what I was given showed I had a 2018 4 door Sahara and that was what I was led to believe. After having issues and getting my registration I started looking at everything more because the dealer registered me as a commercial passenger truck(still don’t know why) but found a report that says Moab/sahara and my seems my vehicles body chasis and motor are all over the place. I’m pretty sure the engine is failing as at one point in one of the reports I found it stated it failed emissions. But the overall worst is that the suspension looks like it came off the titanic compared to the body panels, there’s a lot of welding and rusted or “appearingly tampered” pieces in the chassis and the vehicle seems to be coming apart at every seam. I am currently not driving it because it looks to have sank down to where it could be dangerous I’m pretty sure the suspension, frame, and axles aren’t rated for what’s on it and sounded like something may be coming off at the wheel or axle area last time I did drive it. The vehicle I thought I was purchasing had safety guidelines and there is 2.0 parts, 3.6 parts on this along with random other countries parts. It was bought used “As-Is” but not under the pretense that they assembled it by hand from leftovers. It wouldn’t pass safety standards or emissions in a foreign country much less in the UNITED STATES. I am starting here but will be seeking legal counsel. No longer certain I even have a jeep frame or chassis or just some panels stuck to a rusting timebomb. I’ve only drove like 8,000 miles. Now I’m scared toRead more

When I bought this camper I paid extra for an extensive warranty including the tires. On a recent trip I blew a tire on the trailer and contacted the warranty company. Was instructed to take the trailer and tire to an authorized service center. Upon doing so the service center notified me that the axles were bent because they were insufficient for the size of the trailer. The gentleman I spoke wit
... h said that regardless of what the tags read on the camper the axles were not sufficient for the load rating listed on the tag inside the camper. Thus they put excessive strain on the tires and one blew while I was traveling on the highway. He told me another one was ready to blow out. I reached out to the RV dealership where I bought the trailer and they referred me to the trailer manufacturer who denied any responsibility and claimed that the axles were sufficient for that trailer. This is a recurring issue with these travel trailers as I have friends who have the same models and one has already had to replace his axles because they bent and a tire blew out and damaged the side of his camper and the other one changed his tires and springs to help offset the weight issue. I even reached out to the axle manufacturer who supplied these components to the RV company and all they provided was this measurements I needed to order new axles. All I wanted from the RV manufacturer was even a pittance of an offer to help me with this issue but all they did was claim that all the parts were good and they weren't responsible. I have ordered new heavier duty axles and larger tires to accommodate the weight. As I stated the RV repair center that is working on my trailer said the axles were insufficient and the tires were actually too small for a trailer that size. Apparently the only way an RV company will do the right thing is if they are threatened with a lawsuit. Forest River has already been implicated in a lawsuit for other issues. So they are aware that they have issues!Read more

When traveling at highway speeds the rear suspension is not capable of handling road imperfections. When a pot hole or other disturbance occurs, the rear end of the vehicle violently porpoises and swing back and forth. This is made even more obvious when taking a long sweeping curves at 55 plus. It causes the entire chassis to become very upset. I have never had a car do this.

My steering column/knuckle is cracked and my suspension is snapped causing issues for turning the wheel
Incident date: Jun 5, 2025
The front upper control arm on the driver’s side snapped in half, resulting in the complete detachment of the wheel while the vehicle was in motion. The failed component is still in my possession and available for inspection upon request. This failure placed both my life and the lives of others at significant risk. The wheel detached while I was driving, which could have led to a catastrophic c
... rash had it occurred at higher speeds or in heavier traffic. I was extremely fortunate that the failure occurred under conditions that allowed me to bring the vehicle to a stop without injury or collision. A suspension failure of this nature represents a critical safety hazard. The failure has been physically verified by both the service center where the vehicle was taken after the incident and by GM’s assigned third-party inspection service. A visual and mechanical inspection confirmed the fractured upper control arm and resulting suspension failure. A second opinion from an independent mechanic is being pursued as well. The vehicle was inspected by a third-party claims investigator assigned by GM, who reviewed the scene and the damage. I have not received a full report or documentation from GM or the inspector, but I am requesting it formally. The incident was also documented by my insurance provider. The police were not called, as there were no injuries or collision with another vehicle. There were no warning lights, messages, or error codes on the dashboard prior to the incident. I did not observe any unusual handling, noises, or vibrations that would have suggested an impending mechanical failure. The control arm failure occurred suddenly and without warning while driving under normal conditions.Read more

Around 52,000 miles, my front lower control arms started cracking. Around 57,000 miles, my front left strut assembly failed and started leaking oil. Based on a review of other complaints, these are known issues.
Incident date: Mar 11, 2025
Both front struts and bearing plates failed at 75k miles. They were leaking oil before that mileage. Approximate date of failure was 1/5/24. No parts were available until now. Parts were on back-order for upwards of a year for this model of Highlander in the FWD configuration, with 18” wheels. Prematurely failure causes a lot of bouncing in the car, therefore making the vehicle unresponsive to q
... uick steering maneuvers. The bounce also made it so that typical driving within the city is dangerous as the bounce makes the car difficult to control. This is an issue that is documented on Toyota forums for FWD models. An accident has not been caused by this failure as of yet. Vehicle will be repaired soon. Mechanic was finally able to get two factory struts and bearing plates. Each strut is $200 and mounting plates are about $150 each. Parts + labor are expensive, but at least now it will be fixed.Read more

The problem has been confirmed by both an independent technician and a Land Rover dealership. The dealership verified that the vehicle is subject to active Safety Recall N759, but no repair or remedy is available. Despite this, I was pressured to retrieve the vehicle, which I have done, but I refuse to drive it due to safety concerns. The vehicle is parked and available for inspection. Additional misconduct occurred at the dealership: I was threatened with storage charges and told the loaner vehicle I was issued would be reported stolen. The dealership charged my credit card $300 without authorization, despite the loaner agreement not permitting this under the circumstances. I was given no written notice or valid justification for these threats and charges. I believe I was targeted with discriminatory and biased treatment throughout this process. At no point was I offered a safe alternative or any definitive guidance. The manufacturer and the dealer have both failed to take responsibility, leaving my family vulnerable. I have documented all communication and behavior related to this case and am reporting this as a matter of safety, ethics, and federal recall mishandling.Read more
