When driven the vehicle approximately 60 miles I had to fight to keep it on the road. Hoffman found suspension was out, the vehicle is chasing the road when driving highway speeds (I upload the findings). This started from the time I purchased the vehicle until now. I purchased the truck from Mark Ficken Ford Lincoln, 7601 South Blvd., Charlotte, NC on [XXX], and left for Middletown, CT the day a
... fter. I had to drive at a low speed to keep the Truck on the road. I didn't test drive it because it was new. It is still in the shop for the 3rd time for the same problem. It is not safe to drive. It is dangerous for me and others. The shop does not seem to know how to fix the problem. Ford Motor Company has been notified but has not corrected the problem. I took it to Hoffman Ford in CT and it is there now. The Truck has been in the shop more than I use it. The first two times it was in the shop, they didn't even authorize a rental vehicle for me to drive. It's in the shop now and they did authorize a rental this time. The case # with Ford Motor Company is [XXX], Melanie Krupa, case manager, phone 866-631-3788 ext.79412 email: [email protected]. I uploaded the bill of sale, finance agreement and the repair statements from Hoffman. I greatly appreciate your help. I am paying for a vehicle that is in the shop and is not safe to drive. This RV was equipped from the factory with an axle on which was a sticker stating that the axle had a "D35 Capacity" of 3500 lbs. The RV also has a sticker stating that the GVWR is 4200 lbs and the "weight of this recreational vehicle trailer as completed at the factory with full propane cylinder(s) and full generator fuel if applicable is 1624 kg OR (3582 Lbs.)" To my understanding, this means
... that the "curb weight" of the RV exceeds that of the axle capacity. The GVWR of the RV also exceeds that of the axle capacity. While towing the RV, I noticed the wheels were exhibiting a slight "excessive camber". Upon further inspection, I observed the axle to be bent. I believe it is a reasonable conclusion that the axle was bent because it was undersized for the RV. I was able to safely tow the RV to a trailer repair shop where I had the damaged suspension (axle and springs) replaced with a heavier duty suspension capable of carrying more than the GVWR weight of 4200 lbs.Read more

Tires keep losing balance. From my initial test drive of this new 2024 Lincoln Navigator L, I have noticed a rough ride and vibrations, especially at highway speeds. Initially, 1 tire was identified as not being able to be road force balanced within spec as the cause of the vibration and that tire was replaced. Within a short period of time, the rough ride and vibration issues reoccurred, and t
... he dealership stated that two additional tires were determined as no longer being able to be road force balanced within spec and needed to be replaced. It was then suggested that all 4 OEM Pirelli tires be replaced with a full new set of Michelin tires. Shortly thereafter, the rough ride and vibration issues cropped again and it was determined that all four Michelin tires would no longer road force balance within spec and they were replaced with an all new set of four Michelin tires. Those tires have now been road forced balanced twice more, with tires needing to be rebalanced. Even though the dealership service departments have tried, no underlying suspension issues have been identified as causing all these tires to need rebalancing. I have even taken my vehicle to an independent tire shop to assess if tires are out of balance, and they verified that they were and performed a road force balance on them, however within a matter of weeks the tires needed to be rebalanced again. In total, in the 4 months that I have had this vehicle, it has been at the dealership service department for more than 25% of the time with no determination as to what the underlying cause of why tires need to be rebalanced so frequently, or fail to the point that they no long rebalance and need to be replaced.Read more

I am unsure of what the complete issue is at this point. I have taken my car into two different dealerships multiple times and everybody keeps sending me back saying it’s running as it was designed. There has been a groaning in the vehicle basically since day, one when downshifting it also howls when starting and sounds like a dieselThere is a very strange unstable feeling to the vehicle when traveling at pretty much any speed but when you get to the highway speeds, you feel very unsafe. It feels like you’re pulling a trailer, but you’re not as the best way I can describe it. This has been going on since about. I don’t know week five or six after buying the vehicle as I’ve stated I’ve taken it in multiple times. It wasn’t until I got the manufacturer involved that they’ve actually kept the vehicle and are apparently doing things… we’ll see. My reason for contacting is because I have driven a number of their loaner vehicles which were also grand Cherokee And at least half of them I was experiencing the same thing as I was in my own that seems to me like an issue…. the loaner I am currently driving I’m going to have them pick up with a tow truck because I don’t feel safe driving. It has not even half the miles on it than mine does and it’s worse than mine… to me that presents a problem. There are also weird electrical issues. The key fob doesn’t always let me in the door. I have to do it manually. It’s not communicating with the car. The gearshift just all of a sudden locks up and dash reads to put it in Park before I can put it into gear to proceed further. Sometimes the liftgate will not close. I have to do it manually and then it’ll catch the latch and pull down. I do feel there’s a safety is xxxRead more

We have had a serious open suspension recall (NHTSA #24V-840 / Land Rover Recall N759) on our 2016 Range Rover for nearly a year now, and still no remedy is available. The recall was issued on November 7, 2024, for a known defect involving the front suspension upper knuckle, which may crack and detach, leading to potential loss of control. Land Rover has acknowledged the danger but continues to d
... elay offering a fix. We received a notice about the recall, but since then have only seen “remedy not yet available” when checking status. We’ve contacted Land Rover directly, but they offer no solution or timeline — just that we have to wait. This is not just a safety concern but is also significantly impacting us financially. We were planning to list this vehicle on Turo for supplemental income, but cannot do so while there is an open recall with no fix in place. The recall is also damaging our ability to sell or trade in the vehicle, as no dealer or platform wants a car with a long-standing unresolved safety defect. We are frustrated, feel ignored, and have no confidence in Land Rover’s commitment to resolving this issue. A safety recall that’s been known for months without resolution is completely unacceptable. We are requesting that NHTSA investigate and require the manufacturer to provide either a fix or an alternative solution.Read more

We bought our 2009 Murano new back when we were expecting our baby cause it was rated one of the safest suv on the market. For the most part besides some brake issues and the steering linkage that I had scheduled to have replaced last month its treated us well. Last month with our now [XXX] old daughter I took it to go to a concert an hr from our house. On the highway I felt it swaying which I fo
... und weird cause it was swaying from the rear of the vehicle not the front where the linkage is. We drove home slowly and the next day I dropped it off at our mechanics to have the linkage replaced and asked him to check out the sway I felt. He immediately called me after he got it on the lift and said I needed to head to the shop that our suv was JUNK! When I got there I could not believe my eyes and thanked God that I and even more my daughter made it home safely. My mechanic of 35yrs in business said we were lucky we didn't end up in the woods on the highway and that the entire rear k member/ frame is completely rotted out and the rear tires could have flown off at any moment. I have read that there is a recall on this issue but not in the salt belt states. That is ridiculous and is an excuse to not have to back your vehicle. We live in Dartmouth MA and have barely had any snow in the past 10 yrs to salt for and even if we had this hasn't happen to any other vehicles we own. 2003GMC, 2006 Saab and my wifes Jeep all gd. Whats the point of getting a safety check during the annual inspection when you know your frame is junk and its a death trap! How in good faith can you not back your products when this is clearly a major issue. The problem: affected vehicles may have a left-rear suspension toe link with a fastener that was not properly tightened during assembly at the factory. The GMC Acadia is built at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, but will soon be moved to the GM Lansing Grand River plant to make room for the Cadillac Lyriq. I am filing this complaint due to a serious and recurring safety issue known as the “death wobble” on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JL. This defect causes violent front-end shaking at highway speeds when hitting bumps or making minor steering corrections. The issue began during the first week of ownership and has persisted through five separate service visits. Repairs have included steering
... damper replacements, track bar, alignments, and balancing, but the issue continues to return. A dealership technician confirmed the shaking on October 9, 2023, during a test drive at over 70 mph. The vehicle was only sent to a certified Jeep service center on the fourth visit. After researching the problem, I found this is a well-documented and widespread issue among Jeep owners — especially on Wrangler models of certain years. There are numerous forums, websites, and videos where other owners describe the exact same symptoms, often with no long-term resolution. I shared this information with the dealership to help them understand the seriousness of the issue, and only then did they investigate further. I have video evidence of the defect, technician confirmation, service records, and text messages showing dealership delays. This defect creates a major safety concern, especially with children in the car, and could easily cause an accident.Read more

Subject: Request for Review: 2017 Ford Flex Rear Suspension Toe Link Failure Outside Recall VIN Range To: NHTSA I am writing to formally request a review and consideration of my vehicle's eligibility for RECALL 20V072000 (Ford Recall 20S04), which addresses rear suspension toe link fractures on 2013-2018 Ford Flex models. My vehicle is a 2017 Ford Flex, and it recently experienced a failure
... of the right rear toe link, consistent with the failure mode described in the recall. However, after contacting my local Ford Dealership (Rowe Ford, Westbrook, ME) and the Ford Motor Company, I was informed that my VIN is not included in the recall coverage. I had the right rear toe link repaired and paid for it. I am concerned that the same issue could occur in my left rear toe link, so I am working to have that part preemptively replaced at my own expense. I believe that the exclusion of my vehicle by VIN may be inappropriate for the following reasons: 1. Model year and component match: My Flex falls well within the model years (2013-2018) covered by the recall, and the failed part is the exact component under scrutiny. 2. Failure occurred during normal driving conditions and almost caused an accident. 3. Ford's recall criteria appear overly narrow, possibly omitting vehicles that still contain defective parts, like my vehicle. I respectfully request that NHTSA review this matter and determine whether the VIN range for this recall should be expanded to include additional vehicles like mine that have experienced identical part failures with potential life threatening safety concerns. I have uploaded invoices from my local dealership repair facility. One invoice is for the work to replace the failed right rear toe link and the other is for preemptive replacement of the left rear toe link that I chose to commission on my own.Read more

We rented a Class C RV based on a Ford E-Series chassis from El Monte RV. During our trip, we experienced two dangerous tire tread separations. The first incident occurred on the third day of our trip on the highway. The right rear tire's tread detached while driving at moderate speed (~55–60 mph), causing the tire to explode. The violent separation destroyed the wheel well area and shook the e

The second tire separation happened two days later, again involving a rear tire. Fortunately, it was a slower separation and didn’t cause structural damage, but it further endangered our family and disrupted our trip. We believe these tires were not in a safe condition when the vehicle was rented to us. One of the separated tires showed severe dry rot and age. We had to pay for a replacement tire out-of-pocket during the first incident. The RV company has not responded to our compensation request. While connecting the fifth wheel RV to the tow vehicle, the “Vegatouch Mira” iPad application (version 2.18.4) was being used to connect to the Firefly Integration system (LC version 2.16) to control the Lippert LevelUp hydraulic leveling system that lowers the front end of the RV to the proper height for hookup to the tow vehicle hitch receiver. In the iPad application, the front hydraulic co
... ntrol minus button (“Front (HYD.) -“) is pressed to momentarily engage the hydraulics to lower the RV front end to the appropriate height. However, if that minus button is pressed twice in a row, the front end goes into a complete hydraulic retraction mode. This happened twice, and the RV unexpectedly and dangerously dropped onto the truck bed/sides, which could easily resulted in serious injury or death. Unfortunately, accidentally double tapping an iPad button can occur easily, and is an action very close to the normal hitching procedure of tapping the - (or + to raise) button as needed until the hydraulic motor engages, and then quickly letting go to allow for a fine-tune adjustment of the RV height. A fine tune drop to the correct height, +/- 1 inch, would usually call four several 1/2 inch fine tune adjustments, which if happen too quickly turns into a double tap.Read more
