Component that failed: Front lower lateral link and compliance link suspension bushings. Failed components were removed by Tesla Service and are no longer available for inspection. Safety risk: Failed suspension bushings directly compromise steering precision, vehicle stability, and handling — particularly at highway speeds. A driver unaware of this failure could experience loss of steering cont
... rol or unpredictable handling without warning. Confirmed by dealer: Yes. Tesla Florida (Tampa, 11945 North Florida Avenue) confirmed the failure in writing on May 22, 2026. Technician repair notes state: “inspection failed due to worn suspension bushings in the front.” Tesla confirmed this was the first time these original components had ever been serviced. Invoice #[XXX]. Manufacturer inspection: Yes, repaired by Tesla Service Center. Cost: $1,669.58. Warning lamps or prior symptoms: None. No warning lights, no alerts through the Tesla app, and no prior symptoms communicated to the owner. Failure was discovered only because vehicle was brought in for an extended service agreement inspection. Assessment: Original factory suspension bushings completely disintegrated at 56,258 miles on a 2021 Tesla Model Y (VIN: [XXX] ). This is not normal wear — photographic evidence shows full structural disintegration of rubber bushing material. Other Model Y owners may be driving with identical failures without knowledge. My Jeep develops a "death wobble" whenever the vehicle goes over a bridge junction or bump at highway speeds. I have taken it to the dealer on several occasions and they have been unable to pinpoint the issue,. When my husband personally witnessed the problem and went in to complain, the dealer replaced a rear shock absorber, but the problem persists. The Jeep shakes and vibrates violently and unc
... ontrollably and the problem has become more frequent and more violent. I have to come to an almost complete stop to relieve the wobble/vibration, which is very dangerous on a highway! It happened twice today, Saturday, May 23, 2026, on the highway when I went over bridges at 65 - 70 mph. The issues has been persistent since the vehicle reached approx. 5000 miles. I feel unsafe driving my Jeep on the highway. I know that it has been a problem that was covered under an previous agreement/recall for Jeeps through 2020. manufacturing year. However, since my Jeep is a 2023, I do not believe the extended warranty applies to my vehicle. I am a teacher and I can't afford to pay for repairs, which may run thousands of dollars. Also, I feel my vehicle is unsafe to drive on the highway, which precludes me from driving to my job on the highway. Please advise!Read more

I bought my Tiffin Open Trail in Nov. 2025. The vehicle pitched, rolled and swayed so badly it could be hard to control going over a speed bump. I decided to upgrade the suspension. I went to Owl Vans in Austin, Texas on March 9, 2026. I stayed a hotel while the work was performed. I received a phone call from Owl the night of March 9th, because they found the inside dually tire had been rubbing o
... n the frame underneath the entire time, with tire failure immenint. This is a 12k pound vehicle. I contacted Tiffin who really seemed unconcerned. Owl provided me with a new tire and informed me that they were upfitting many (25) Open Trails by Tiffin and they had found the vehicle too heavy for the stock Mercedes 3500XD suspension. They informed Tiffin of their concerns. Because I upgraded the suspension significantly it resolved my issue. HOWEVER, I contacted friends who had recently purchased an Open Trail with stock suspension and shared my findings and concern. They had their Open Trail inspected and ALSO found the leaf springs flat and the rear tire rubbing with imminent failure expected. I spent $12k making my vehicle SAFE. If the tire would have blown at 70 mph, losing control of a 12k pound vehicle would have been catastrophic, not only me but anyone else near me. I travel extensively in my Open Trai and so do others.Read more

The car is unstable on the highway when there is a crosswind - either from wind gusts or from large vehicles. The car is easily pushed by wind until lane assist activates to stop it from going outside of the lane. It feels very unsafe to drive on the highway. This is how the car was when it was bought. An alignment was done during the first Tesla service visit and that helped slightly. The second
... Tesla service visit they said the vehicle was operating as expected and then checked wheel balance after I insisted. They said they fixed wheel balance but it still did not change how the car handles in crosswind. The third Tesla service visit (different service center) they said the vehicle was working as expected and said they could not drive for a significant distance to test. If lane assist ever fails when I'm not ready to instantly react to a gust of wind, it feels like it would easily move into another lane or off the road. When passing large vehicles where wind changes direction, the car sometimes gets pushed left and right which sometimes triggers an alarm and shows an on screen message saying to take control of steering. I test drove another of the same model car for an hour and had the same unstable feeling in the wind but was unable to test long enough to find an area with high crosswind.Read more

Steering wheel became stuck when making a long left turn while driving on the freeway. The turn lasted approximately 30 seconds. Around 3-4 seconds into the turn, the steering wheel suddenly locked up for approximately 1-2 seconds. Eventually the steering wheel was released resulting in a sudden jerk, leading to the car veering to the right lane. A correction was made using the steering wheel to m
... aintain center lane. Once again the steering wheel got stuck, resulting in the same jerk behavior. This occurred three times in the 30-second turn. I have not attempted this route since this incident. Prior to this incident, the front end suspension made a grinding noise when turning the steering wheel left (e.g., backing up into the garage). There is minor vibration on the steering wheel but not too noticeable due to the low speeds. A recall was previously performed back in 2025 to correct the grinding suspension. However, it returned several months after along with the minor steering wheel issue. I plan to report this at the next scheduled maintenance interval.Read more

There has been a safety recall for CERTAIN 2019 VW Tiguan's due to improper materials or incorrect process parameters during manufacture of the rear coil springs, which are weaker than intended (Volkswagen's recall number is 42J5). While parked in my driveway on May 17, 2026, my family members heard an exceptionally loud bang from the house and from the street. The coil spring had fractured, and
... caused damage to the rest of the rear suspension. This was confirmed by my independent mechanic, who has since repaired the problem, despite initial difficulty in getting the necessary parts. They had been told by the dealership that there was an "indefinite backorder" for the coil springs. When I called the dealership back to inquire further, I was informed that there were not many of these parts available, and there are no after-market parts available. A shortage of a non-electronic part is often due to an increased demand, suggesting the problem is more widespread than acknowledged by Volkswagen. I contend that the 42J4 recall should be further investigated, and likely extended to included additional vehicles, particularly those with the exact make, model, and year of manufacture as already covered under the recall, especially since this part is crucial to vechicle safety/handing and is generally expected to "often last the life of the vehicle". Had I been driving on the highway when this occurred, significant property damage, and potential bodily injury could have been a likely result. While driving, a critical heavy-duty front lower control arm / lateral link bolt completely detached from my vehicle and was found intact on the ground with factory green threadlocker still visible on the threads. The undercarriage and chassis show absolutely ZERO signs of external impact, scrape, or road hazard damage. This structural failure caused an immediate, severe safety hazard, rendering t
... he vehicle completely unsafe to drive due to a catastrophic risk of wheel separation and total loss of steering control. This exact component failure is identical to Tesla's historical safety recalls, specifically NHTSA Recall Campaign Number 21V835000 and its expansions, which explicitly state: "the front suspension lateral link bolts may not have been secured to the correct specifications... causing the fasteners to loosen over time and separate from the sub-frame." Because the bolt loosened and fell out over time due to insufficient factory torque, the loose component put uneven mechanical stress on the lower control arm, resulting in the complete failure and damage of the control arm assembly. Tesla Service Center has refused to honor this as a latent manufacturing defect, hiding behind warranty expiration. They have unconscionably misclassified a known, life-threatening production defect as standard "wear and tear," forcing me to pay a $265 diagnostic fee and the full cost of a complete control arm replacement under protest. I am filing this report because Tesla is actively endangering consumers by failing to expand their suspension fastener recall to cover vehicles experiencing the exact same catastrophic manufacturing defect outside the arbitrary warranty period. NHTSA ODI complaint records show multiple substantially similar failures outside Tesla’s recall VIN population, including ODI Nos. 11630487, 11554803, 11494976, 11493354, 11486040, 11689987, 11675200, and 11632785 for Model Y vehicles, and ODI Nos. 11720800, 11705487, 11675676, 11664858, 11637813, etcRead more

The vehicle cannot be remedied under standard recall procedures. By refusing the repair without providing an alternative solution The manufacture is failing its federal obligation to remedy a known safety defect. The right rear coil spring on my 2015 Volkswagen Golf fractured suddenly while the vehicle was completely stationary in a parking lot. There was no collision, pothole impact, curb strike, road hazard, or other external event that could reasonably explain the failure. The incident was captured on dash cam video. The failed component is the right rear suspension coil spring. I will retain the broke
... n component and make it available for inspection upon request, although the vehicle must be repaired immediately because it is my primary means of transportation. Volkswagen has previously acknowledged potential manufacturing and material defects involving rear axle coil springs in technical service bulletin/campaign 42J5, which states that certain rear axle coil springs may not have met factory specifications due to defective materials or production process issues. This failure created a significant safety concern because a fractured coil spring can shift position, puncture a tire, damage suspension or brake components, or cause instability and loss of vehicle control if the failure occurs while driving at speed. In this case, the spring failed while the car was parked and stationary, but the same spontaneous failure could have occurred during highway driving. The defect has been confirmed by both an independent repair shop and a Volkswagen specialist, and I have written repair estimates documenting the broken spring. The vehicle and component have not been inspected by Volkswagen because the dealership required approximately $200 solely for diagnostic inspection despite the visible and documented mechanical failure. There were no warning lights, dashboard messages, noises, drivability symptoms, or other indications of impending failure prior to the incident. The spring failed without warning. I contacted Volkswagen/dealership personnel seeking goodwill assistance due to the known spring defect issue and the unusual circumstances of the failure, but was denied.Read more

I am reporting a serious safety defect in my brand-new 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser (Hybrid J250 series). Vehicle Information: VIN: [XXX] Mileage at time of failure: approximately 4,000 miles Date of purchase/delivery: [XXX] Purchased new from: Koons Toyota Tysons Corner, VA Problem Description: On [XXX], while driving, a suspension component detached/fell off, causing loss of control and a cr
... ash. This was a complete mechanical failure of the suspension system with no prior warning or impact from another vehicle. The failure occurred despite the vehicle having extremely low mileage and despite me previously reporting suspension issues to the dealer. Prior to the crash, I took the vehicle to the dealer on April 17 , 2026 for suspension problems. The dealer inspected it and explicitly stated that the vehicle was safe to drive. Shortly afterward, the suspension failed catastrophically, resulting in the crash. This indicates a manufacturing, design, or assembly defect that poses an unreasonable risk of crash, injury, or death. No modifications, abuse, or lack of maintenance contributed to this failure. This is a new 2025 model with no prior owner history. I believe this is a safety defect that may affect other vehicles, especially given the extremely low mileage at failure. I request that NHTSA investigate this as a potential safety defect, consider opening a defect investigation, and issue a recall if warranted. I attached letters i sent to dealer service advisor and service manager and i haven't gotten respond at all. I mistyped date for service and service was done on March 17th, 2026. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the steering was difficult to maintain as the vehicle drifted and the steering wheel was stiff. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the front end needed to be aligned. The vehicle was repaired, but the same and additional failures reoccurred
... less than a year later. The contact stated that on several occasions at various speeds, the steering wheel began pulling and shaking, and she observed a loud noise emanating from under the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that both wheel bearings, the sway bar, and the front axle were damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred approximately six months later. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the driver strut needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted, as the vehicle still pulled to the right and she observed a bumping noise near the front of the vehicle as if something was loose. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.Read more

The vehicle exhibits a severe, structural inability to retain its factory suspension and steering alignment specifications under normal driving conditions, creating a severe tire blowout and safety hazard. At approximately 8,400 miles (January 2025), the dealership documented that the alignment was heavily out of specification. At approximately 9,400 miles (February 2025), a certified third-party
... shop corrected the vehicle back to perfect factory specifications. Less than 9,700 miles of standard city driving later, at approximately 19,100 miles (May 2026), a dealer inspection revealed the vehicle's alignment geometry had completely shifted out of specification across three separate wheels (Right Front Toe, Right Rear Camber, Left Rear Toe). This rapid alignment failure dynamically scrubbed the front steering tires completely bald down to the internal metal structural cords/threads, creating an immediate, severe safety hazard on the road. The vehicle's inability to hold standard parameters points to a defective suspension tracking design or components incapable of supporting the vehicle load. The dealership refused to cover this mechanical failure under warranty, forcing an out-of-pocket tire replacement expense. A formal corporate escalation case has been opened with the manufacturer.Read more

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The vehicle experiences a severe front-end steering and suspension oscillation commonly referred to as “death wobble.” After driving over uneven pavement, bridge joints, potholes, or rough highway surfaces at highway speeds, the steering wheel begins violently shaking side-to-side and the front
... suspension appears to oscillate uncontrollably. The vehicle becomes difficult to steer and maintain lane control until speed is significantly reduced. The issue first occurred at approximately 10,000 miles and has recently returned. Although the current episodes are somewhat less severe than the initial event, the vehicle still becomes unstable above approximately 65 mph and cannot be safely driven at normal highway speeds. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This defect creates a serious safety hazard because the steering instability occurs suddenly at highway speeds and makes the vehicle feel temporarily out of control. During the initial in incident, the steering wheel shook violently after hitting an uneven section of highway pavement, and I believed I could lose control of the vehicle or collide with surrounding traffic. The only way to stop the oscillation is to rapidly reduce speed to approximately 50 mph or lower, which itself creates additional danger from surrounding vehicles traveling at highway speed. The recurrence of the issue has made me afraid to drive the vehicle on highways or at normal traffic speeds due to concern over loss of steering control and potential crash risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The vehicle was serviced. The dealer performed the fix of the wheel damperer after the original occurrence. While those actions temporarily reduced the severity of the symptoms, they did not permanent. This is a known issue for Jeep's since 2018, I have had 3 and all 3 have had itRead more

Tesla model 3 2018 long range 86k miles. While driving 50mph on freeway the lower control arm link separated from the frame. No impact, no damage, and no pothole/bump. Lost steering and was able to get to side of road. When I got out and look at vehicle the control arm was disconnected from the frame. The frame showed no damage and the control arm showed no damage. The mounting holes for each here
... intact and no damage. Appears that bolt fell out or sheared off and the control arm disconnected. This is a safety failure and was scary. I towed to Tesla and they claim that failure was form worn parts and tolerances. I stated how could this be worn parts when mounting holes are in excellent condition. They are refusing to help with cost of repair and quoted me $2800. They are not taking responsibility and I believe that others should know of this failure. I believe I am being wronged and would like to report. Thanks.Read more

Both coil springs on vehicle failed under normal driving conditions. Less than 70k on the vehicle. We heard a weird noise while driving and saw one broken. When we brought in for repair, both were broken. VW has had recalls on similar aged vehicles but not ours. No warnings etc. Took picture of one but not the other because we didn’t even know it was broken. Dealership said cars are just not mad
