Rear passenger side wheel area started making a lot of noise. After tire was taken off, found rear coil spring broken and dislodged from proper location. Then looked at drivers side rear coil spring and it was still in proper location but broken. Found replacement part which also fit VW Beetle and VW Jetta which are much smaller cars than a Passat.
