While driving on a residential street during daylight hours, on a clear day at approximately 20 miles per hour the right wheel on my car dislodged. This caused me to lose control of steering the vehicle and strike a parked car. There were people walking about on the sidewalk at the time and other cars traveling. When I exited the car I saw that the passenger side was completely on the ground
... and there were broken pieces and liquid coming from underneath the car. The axel was broken with a clean break. The car was then towed to the dealership where I was informed it could not stay. My insurance company then towed it to their repair shop where upon assessing the damage they could tell that this was not caused by a collision. General Motors along with our independent investigator examined the parts and vehicle. Leaving me without a vehicle for 4 months. Our Insurance investigator determined this was a defect in manufacturing and GM did not agree. General Motors will not communicate with us any further on this matter. Some of the repairs that were made was the left front and CV axel, also the left front aluminum steering knuckle was missing. This should be investigated for metallurgical discrepancies by an independent lab. While the car was being inspected there was a recall to the power steering that may apply to the vehicle. I would like for the NHTSA to investigate this issue. The car has been repaired and is in my possession and my insurance company has all of the reports, documents, and parts regarding the investigation. I also have pictures immediately following and a witness to the incident. Had a been traveling on a highway at a higher rate of speed this could have been fatal. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.Read more

This past week, I took it to another Ford Dealership.....well, everything associated with the "Death Wobble" needs to be replaced!! I've maintained and took the advice of Ford Dealerships, when I was told needed a new radiator, I paid for Ford to put one in. It's not fair that the Ford 2016 and prior doesn't get fixed free of charge or recalled and the 2017 and the above does for the Death Wobble. It's already bad enough that Ford's Death Wobble information was withheld from me as well as having a bad radiator when purchasing the truck! It's HORRIBLE that Ford KNOWS about the issue and lets it happen.....puts EVERYONE at risk around the Ford death wobble!!Read more

Mercedes C300 2013, bought used in 2014 at approximately 7300 miles on the odometer, have always done the repairs and maintenances at Mercedes dealerships. In either late 2019 or early 2020 at around $50,000 miles on the odometer, the dealer informed me that the "rear sub frame is rusted and has hole in it" and recommend for the replacement of the rear sub frame, they even refused to pass my state

In October 2021 at approximately 67,000 miles on the odometer, it was determined that it was the time for the sub frame to get replaced at a price tag of more than $8000. Upon calling Mercedes corporate customer service and complaining to the dealership, Mercedes is willing to offer so called "Good Will Assistance" but I am still responsible for more than 50% of the cost. Mercedes dealership advised me this is a common issue for this type of vehicle and my case is not a single case. This is a great safety concern and driving this vehicle has been a uncomfortable experience. I strongly believe the sub frame issue is a manufacturer defect and there should be recall issued on it. I was driving north on US 521 between Sumter and Rembert, South Carolina. Without warning, my vehicle began to violently shake. I held on tightly to the steering wheel as it was almost uncontrollable. It was an extremely scary situation as I could hardly maintain control among passing cars and a narrow road shoulder. I braked slowly, pulled partially off the road (extremely narrow shoulder aft
... er curb), and engaged my emergency flashers. As I was getting out my truck, I assumed I had one or both front tires were flat. Upon inspection, none of the tires were damaged/flat. I then returned to the truck and drove very slowly (30 MPH) to the post office in Rembert, SC to inspect underneath the truck to see if anything was loose or broken. Nothing was found during visual inspection. I had approximately 20 miles to go before I could reach my home; thus, I drove slowly. Upon arriving home, I called my local Ford dealership and told them what happened. They stated Ford had issued a memo stating if anyone had this problem to replace the steering damper/stabilizer. I have an appointment for this November 6, 2021. Later that day, I began researching all the Ford and diesel forums to see if anyone had this same experience. I was amazed how many truck owners had the same occurrence while driving and the condition had a name; the DEATH WOBBLE. I have been researching the death wobble for the past few days and every site/forum came to the same conclusion: replacing the steering damper/stabilizer is only a Band-Aid fix. The problem will reoccur within a few months. Most recommended changing to upgraded shocks, dual steering dampers/stabilizers, and a new front end alignment. Ford has only issued a memo, no recall; therefore, if I had not experienced this I would have never known. I tow a 40 ft 5th wheel and I do not know if I can trust this truck. What would have happened if I were towing my camper? Something must be done before someone is injured or dead.Read more
