While driving this 2019 F-250 truck, all of a sudden the truck began to shake violently. Not only the whole truck, but the steering wheel was shaking violently as well. I was scared to death. This has happened on the interstate where I was in the left lane passing a tractor trailer and no sooner did I get passed then my truck began this "Death Wobble." I had no place to pull over to my left, so I h
... ad to pull right in front of the truck that I just passed, braking as hard as I could while moving to the right shoulder. An extremely dangerous situation. I can only imagine if this had happened to my wife! Fortunately, I had read about this condition prior to it happening. My truck only has 15,000 miles on it. This Death Wobble has been around since 2005 on Ford F-250 trucks, yet Ford and their dealers seem to pretend that they know nothing about it. And yes, I have had this safety hazard occur several times. This is a very serious safety issue. You have no warning lights or signals that the death wobble is imminent. I can even reproduce it if need be. It has happened several times since December 2021. You can see many incidents of this by either searching on line or by going to YouTube and typing in Death Wobble.Read more

My wife and I took delivery of a brand new 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport on 4/28/2021. The vehicle is completely stock and has only been serviced by the dealership we purchased it from. In October 2021, we drove over a defect in the highway at approximately 70 miles per hour. The entire vehicle started shaking. It felt like the shaking was coming from the front suspension and steering. We pulled
... off the highway to the shoulder. As we slowed to about 50 miles per hour, the shaking stopped. There were no warning lights or indicators before, during or after this event. The incident was very frightening and could have led to losing control of the Jeep on a very busy 4 lane highway. We took the vehicle to the selling dealership to have it looked at. The service manager could not duplicate it but a steering damper replacement was ordered. We were able to duplicate the shaking in the same location on 10/21/2021 at 55 miles per hour and again 10/22/2021 in the same location, at 58 miles per hour. It happened several subsequent times. The steering damper was replaced on 12/13/2021. There were 12,887 miles on the Jeep then. The "Death Wobble" still occurred. A new steering gear was ordered by the dealership. The steering gear was replaced 2/14/2022. Mileage now 15,502 miles. As I was driving home from the dealership on 2/14/22, I ran over a transition strip onto the entry ramp to a 4 lane highway. I was going 70 miles per hour. The shaking started and was shaking so hard, my face skin was vibrating as were the numbers on all the gauges. If I were not kind of expecting this, I could have easily lost control. And as I was in a curve, I would have crashed in the very busy highway. The shaking did not stop until I was below 50 miles per hour on the exit ramp. The dealer has not been able to reproduce this. And to this point, the manufacture has not inspected the vehicle. Which they are able to do at anytime.Read more

Noticed a rattle in right rear of vehicle. Upon further investigation the k frame is rotted into two pieces where a body mount travels thur the structure steel frame. 8 years ago was crossing RR tracks and vehicle started violently shaking had to slow to 10mph for it to stop. Checked found nothing wrong finished drive home. Truck did this once more and after that when I approach RR tracks I slow to 5- 10 mph to keep it from happening.

In the last 2 weeks anytime I hit a bump the truck violently shakes I took to a mechanic shop and they said something was wrong with front end but not sure what. High Point Mitsubishi in High Point NC preformed the recall in regards to rust forming on the underside crossmember of this vehicle. Less than 3 years later this vehicle is immovable because of the exact same reason as the original recall. The technician obviously overlooked areas of which to spray the rust preventative in which caused the structural integrity to completely fail at the front mount
... ing location of the driver side control arm onto the crossmember. This vehicle is not safe to drive any longer because of Mitsubishi's lack of thoroughness in performing and evaluating the situation and the condition of said crossmember. High Point Mitsubishi now insists that the issue was resolved even after clear pictures have been sent showing the clear damage and obvious nature of the reasoning of the recall in the first place but argue that they took care of the recall although obviously the exact issue that the recall was made for is thr reason this vehicle is no longer driveable.Read more

This is a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C300 4matic Luxury model, with about 110K miles. It started making beating noise and pulling to the right when brakes were applied. Driving became quite dangerous especially at a higher speed, and the driver had to steer the car very carefully to compensate the fish-tailing. It also affected braking as well. There was no warnings from the car, but the noise, the fi
... sh-tailing and uneven braking were really bad. A M-B certified mechanic inspected the car, and identified the problem as the rear sub-frame that has rusted out, and lost 1 of the 4 anchors. The whole sub-frame will have to be replaced. Estimated costs will be USD4k-5k, and may take a month due to shortage of parts. For a major structural part on a premium-brand car to rust, within 10 years, to the extent that driving is rendered dangerous, it is not acceptable. A safety recall should be issued on this, and M-B should bear the costs.Read more

While parked in an RV park I discovered that the right rear spring hanger on my fifth wheel RV had fractured and separated immediately adjacent to a weld line. I am unaware of any incident that can explain this damage, although I did hear a clunk while auto leveling the vehicle at our campsite. (Auto leveling is computer controlled and is a routine operation.) Inspection of the intact left rear
... spring hanger reveals what appears to be a small crack that may be the beginning of a similar problem on that side. An undetected failed spring hanger when traveling at highway speeds can obviously be a cause of severe property damage and death. Research of this problem in user groups and forums revealed that it is well known to vehicle owners. Anecdotes of broken hangers abound, as do user-invented fixes. Interestingly, Lippert (aka LCI, who is the manufacturer of the vehicle frame) reportedly has a repair for the problem that it has retrofitted to some vehicles and is apparently using in some newly manufactured vehicle frames. The fix is to add a 'V-brace' that is welded to the spring hangers and increases their strength. Example: https://gdrvowners.com/forum/operation/suspension-amp-brakes/52915-spring-hanger-advice There are no recalls for my trailer suspension that I can find, so despite apparent knowledge of the issue the manufacturers of both the frame and the vehicle have failed to warn me or others of it. I am now working with both Grand Design and Lippert to solve this problem on my vehicle. I will press for confirmation that the 'V-brace' is a viable repair that won't violate my warranty and will press to have it implemented on my fifth wheel RV.Read more

Took car in and asked Nissan dealer to inspect rear lower links as there was a creaking noise and had just received extended 10 year warranty from manufacturer on components. ... and passenger side lower link completely rusted and snapped. Drivers side was also completely corroded and upon removal was also cracked. This could not have happened in 3 weeks time if inspected and had nothing wrong. Dealer told me even though they were completely corroded, which was what the warranty stated, they could not repair until physically broken as per Nissan. Dealer has stated they have had others with issues similar to mine but manufacturer will not replace until physically broken, which then creates a serious hazard to cars occupants and others on the road. ... p. What happened appears to be a problem with the Mopar 1.5" lift kit installed by the dealer. The kit was installed 8/17/2021. This incident occurred in Jan 2022, about 4,000 miles later. I had the kit installed and then inspected about a month later specifically to check for any loose bolts, and to double check the torque for the bolts. The CV bar in the front lost a the bolt on the passenger side, dropping the cross bar and resulting in total loss of control of the passenger side front tire. I felt very lucky not to have been injured, and not to roll the jeep. It took about 150 feet to stop the vehicle in the ditch. I am attaching a photo of the bar held in place after the accident using bungie cords. This was done just to get the bar off the road and allow for moving the vehicle. The mechanic was able to secure the cross bar with a new bolt. The original bolt and nut were not found. We speculate that either the bolt was not torqued correctly or might have been missing a lock washer. At any rate, potentially this could have resulting in much worse. If this happened just a few seconds earlier on the freeway, the damage and injuries could have been much worse. Now the vehicle is driving like new, after new bolt and alignment. However, I will be checking those bolts more frequently, particularly if I notice any extra play in the steering. Before this happened, the play in the steering had increased. I thought I just needed an alignment, but it was much worse than that. Really I would think this cross bar needs redesign to ensure it can't break loose.Read more
