The rear passenger side Adaptive Suspension wiring harness was either installed improperly or routed improperly and rubbed against the inside of the tire. After many miles, this harness was worn down to the point of breaking electrical contact, which puts the vehicle into a fallback state. When the dampers are disabled, the car becomes floaty and disconnected and is dangerous to drive. There were
... warnings in the system immediately when this broke. It is available for inspection, as Tesla has stated they cannot fix it for 6 weeks. The problem has been confirmed by their service dept via remote diagnostics. There has been no inspection by anyone other than myself, however I have extensive photographic evidence. The issue is very obvious when you know to look.Read more

My Jeep experienced sever wobbling, as if the front wheels were coming off. So, I took it to a repair shop and they said it was the "death wobble." When I took it to the Autonation Jeep Dealership, South, Columbus GA. I was told that they had a recall on that 2 years and 3 months ago, and since the 2 year warranty expired, there was nothing they could do about it. If a recall doesn't work, the
... n isn't the dealership still required to fix a manufacturer defect? My Jeep had an additional recall, which the dealership performed last week, and the dealership thought this new recall (computer update) might fix the death wobble problem. When I picked up my Jeep last week after this second recall, my heat and A/C no longer worked--all controls on the Jeep no longer worked. The dealership said they just followed the procedure in the recall, and since the recall resulted in the loss of my heat, A/C and defrosting, that I needed to deal with Jeep USA. I have submitted my case to Customer Care (FCA US, LLC) at Jeep USA, and they are telling me they might be able to ship a part in 6 weeks. My car has no heater. No accountability. I need to be compensated for the damages they have caused to my Jeep! Thanks, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).Read more

On the morning of Thursday January 13th I pulled in my place of employment which had a small pot hole at the entrance. Upon entering the parking lot I hit that hole and noticed that my car had a bit of a sway, but did not understand what the issue was. After working 8 hours I was going to leave and noticed the same issue with the vehicle. I then exited my car to inspect my tires thinking I had a f
... lat. Upon further inspection I noticed that my fender well was sitting on top of my tire. I then looked under my car to confirm that the lower linkage arm for the passengers rear tire had sheared from the subframe. The car at that time was un-drivable so I called a tow truck to transport it to a Nissan dealership. On January 14th I received my diagnosis report that stated the lower linkage arm had rusted and sheared because of this issue. They also inspected the drivers side part and confirmed the same issue was taking place with the other linkage. The vehicle is only 8 years old at this time and the part has rusted so severely that it caused the part to fail. In my opinion this is a very detrimental issue that Nissan will not acknowledge or offer assistance with fixing. My biggest concern with the whole situation is that I could have been driving the vehicle at 70mph on the highway and have this part fail. Should that have happened I could have been seriously injured or even killed. In my opinion I think that Nissan needs to do an investigation on part corrosion since this is an issue they are combating already with the secondary hood latch, which I have had a representative from Nissan say was because of corrosion of that secondary latch. This does not seem like an isolated issue, but more of a larger concern that Nissan should be looking into with corrosion on very important parts to the vehicles integrity.Read more

I was driving my vehicle and I ran out of gas. The gas gauge maintained a quarter of a tank and the gas light never came on. I recently purchased a used Jayco Precept 31 UL motorhome that is on a Ford F53 chassis. After the purchase I found that the vehicle handled very dangerously when being passed by a large trucks, or when there were crosswinds or medium strength winds. The problem was bad enough the I narrowly avoided accidents caused by being pushed around by passing 18 wheel trucks or crosswinds, or both. After
... doing some research on this vehicle, and others on the Ford F53 chassis I found that these handling issues are the number one problem with these units. I subsequently had to invest over $6K to correct these handling problems as they were the result of the ineffective stock suspension configuration from the factory. I had to install a steering stabilizer (Safe-T-Plus), a rear track bar (SuperSteer), front radius rods (SuperSteer), new special damping shocks (Koni FSD shocks) and an adjustable drag link (unsure of the manufacturer). All these modifications collectively changed the handling of the RV from a huge safety hazard to a well heeled and safe handling vehicle. These changes should have been included as standard safety equipment directly from the factory. It is incomprehensible to me that a vehicle of this size should be allowed to be leave the factory and be on the road with such dangerous handling issues. If you do the research you will find many owners of these units who struggle with the same issues and who have had many near misses or accidents on the road as a result. Recreation Vehicles built on the Ford F53 chassis need to be highly regulated and inspected to ensure that they leave the factory with the safest configuration of suspension, chassis and steering equipment available. These vehicles should all be placed under a recall to have the manufacturer(s) install, at their expense, the handling modification I outlined above.Read more

My friend owns the same model truck (can provide VIN if needed) and his truck's suspension failed after year one. Luckily, it was still under warranty but took multiple trips to the dealership and much hassle to fully repair/replace his truck's suspension. Prior to my truck's suspension completely failing rendering it not drivable, there were many times I was driving on the highway alone and sometimes with my family when the truck would drop lower than entry mode with no warning - a huge safety risk to passengers and cars around me. The truck would be moving at highway speeds with essentially no suspension causing it to bounce and wobble within the lane and over the line. My children are now afraid to drive in the truck. The front end experiences significant head shake and "death wobble" at speeds greater than 50mph. An alignment, balance, and tire rotation did not fix it
Incident date: Jan 6, 2022
Driving down the highway doing somewhere between 75-80. Hit a small bump in the road and then it felt like the front end of my truck exploded. The steering wheel started violently jerking and the whole truck was shaking from the inside out. I held as tight as I could to stay inside my lane since I was surrounded by many vehicles travel long as fast as me. I slowed down as fast as I could and was a
... ble to get the truck to the shoulder. I went out to look and see if I hit something or if my tires had exploded and could find nothing wrong. I got back in the truck and checked my dash indicators and tire pressure and everything was fine. So I started to drive on the shoulder to see if I could keep going. Everything seemed fine so I got back on the highway and headed home. Maybe 4-5 miles later I was doing about 60 and the same thing happened but even worse. I’m really lucky I was able to keep control. I pulled over and rested the truck then took a side street and went 30 or under home. Upon getting home I messaged my friend about what happened and he sent me a bunch of links about the ford death wobble. I watched the videos and this is exactly what happened to me. I’m furious that ford isn’t being made to address this. If I had my kids in the car or was otherwise not strong enough to hold that steering wheel In place I wouldn’t be here typing this tonight. I’ll be taking the truck to the dealer in the morning but anything short of them replacing each and every component in this system will not be acceptableRead more
