I was driving down a highway and all of the sudden the back end of my car started swerving back and forth. I almost lost control, but managed to get it slowed down without causing an accident. I knew something major was wrong and the dealer I bought the car from was about 5 miles away. I managed to get it there safely, but could only do 10-15mph or the swerving was too much and I would have lost c
... ontrol. No warning lights came on and my steering wheel was even crooked. I had no issues prior to this. I always take my car to the dealer for oil changes/tire rotations and they have never found anything wrong. When the tech inspected my car, he determined the toe link broke. They checked for a recall and it said it was fixed in August of 2021. I bought the car in February 2022. I knew nothing about the recall or this issue. The tech said it was repaired with the same 3 piece style setup that the recall was for to begin with. Also, that they fix the recall with one whole piece now. The dealer wouldn't warranty it again since the computer documented it had already been done. I called Cadillac to see if I could get reimbursed, since the same style faulty parts were installed. I was told they couldn't do anything since it was closed and to submit it here.Read more

My truck is equipped with an air suspension system. During winter weather when temperatures dropped in the low 20's and lower, the air system blows a fuse and drops the suspension to an unsafe position for driving. It has occurred several times including while driving. A warning message sometimes (but not always) a warning is flashed on the screen to have the truck serviced immediately. I have ha

He has given me an estimate to replace the system but cannot assure me that it will not fail. I called RAM customer service to get a technical explanation of the air suspension problem and solution from the manufacturer who designed and manufactured the product. I called RAM customer service seeking an answer. I cannot justify spending $4000 on something than will not solve the problem. I was not told by the original dealer that I couldn’t drive the truck in Wisconsin winters. There are many people complaining about this on RAM forums and other internet sites. This is obviously a problem and I need a truck that will be reliable to drive safely during winter.Read more

On September 23, 2023, in the late afternoon, the control arm of my Porsche 911 (front driver side) snapped while making a routine stop at a stop sign in a residential neighborhood, driving at approximately 25mph. There was smoke that came from the front driver side wheel as the control arm had snapped and that wheel was being dragged. No warning lamps or error messages were displayed on my vehicl
... e dashboard prior to this malfunction. I gave direction to the dealership for a thorough review of the damage. The shop repairmen indicated that the control arm had snapped along with other components as a result, and they provided an estimated quote for the necessary repairs. However, when I inquired about the possibility of the damage being caused by an external object, the shop foreman was unable to identify any such impact. Seeking a second opinion, I decided to take my car to an independent shop for a more in-depth assessment. Surprisingly, they too were unable to find any evidence of an impact that would have led to the control arm failure. Their theory suggested a potential quality or parts issue as the root cause. Fortunately, there were no injuries as the road was not in heavy use, however at highway speeds this could've caused fatal injuries.Read more

Neither of the two dealerships that inspected my car were aware of this widespread issue with the front end CV joint defect. All windows and sunroof were fully open, and music was playing. When all this occurred, I could hear outside the car something that sounded like metal tinging or metal contact. idk. This was while the car was still moving. When I pulled over, all the lights went away. I turned off the car for a few minutes and turned it back on. The lights did not come back, and it drove like nothing ever happened. The car is currently at VW Dealership awaiting a response from VW helpline (VTA) as of 1/17/24. I have been doing research on this issue and I have found multiple VW GTI/R owners who are currently and/or have experienced this issue. A Golf R (Model year 2018) owner with about 19.5k miles said "The real problem was the electric power assist motor, the part that controls how heavy the steering is when you change modes. But it can't be serviced. So the whole thing has to be swapped. It needed the entire power steering rack assembly replaced". He took this to a VW dealership and was covered under warranty. I strongly believe VW needs to release a recall for this as it is very dangerous to happen while driving especially at highway speeds like it did to me and many others.Read more

I am writing to emphasize and provide details regarding the critical safety issue affecting both Tesla Model S and Tesla Model X. My personal experience highlights the severity of this problem which included a tire blow out at highway speeds on a tire that had only approx 10k miles on it. This specific wear pattern is a direct result of improper camber alignment, an issue that Tesla has continuous
... ly refused to rectify. This problem is not isolated to my vehicle alone. Many Tesla Model X and Model S owners have reported similar experiences, indicating a widespread and systemic issue. The accelerated inner wall tire wear poses significant safety risks, as it can lead to unexpected and dangerous tire failures on the road, which is exactly what happened to me. Despite the clear evidence and numerous complaints from Tesla owners, Tesla has consistently declined to address this issue adequately. It appears that the company’s reluctance is rooted in the fact that proper repair or recall to fix the camber alignment is too costly. However, this cost-cutting measure is putting drivers and passengers at risk. Given the severe outcomes that this design flaw causes, I urge immediate investigation into this. It is essential to investigate these recurring problems with both the Tesla Model X and Model S models. The safety of Tesla drivers, passengers, and the general public is at stake, and a thorough investigation could compel Tesla to take the necessary corrective actions.Read more

My son was looking to get his new tires aligned, and was informed by the mechanic that he would need to replace both side rear lower control arms, as Toyota had performed a safety recall GOV, resulting in the arms being epoxied, and therefore cannot be adjusted/ aligned. I contacted Toyota customer experience center (800 331 4331 - 1/16/2024) and she could not even call up the original recall.
... My question is: How can Toyota permanently remove a vehicle feature (adjustability of the suspension arms), and then require car owners to bear the brunt of re-installing the arms when you need to align your tires? This "solution" is totally unfair. I just purchased a new set of tires, and based on Toyota's "solution" I need to pay out of pocket to replace the control bars and/or damage my tires and have to replace them early. I was not able to find any other information on this issue on the web, and was wondering if Toyota had done anything to address this issue?Read more

My CR-V Lane Keep Assist will pull my vehicle one way or the other jarringly violently, and will overcorrect itself the rest of the time. The result being that I have nearly totally stopped using the feature. Recently, though, I have noticed a sticking point just off of dead center when steering in either direction- at any speed. The worst part of this issue is that it causes turning to be unsmoo
... th because the wheel doesn't turn smoothly. At any speed, I can notice the weighting of the steering wheel when I hit the (replicatible) sticking point- and then it is as if the vehicle "skips a few steering teeth" because it cause the wheel to turn a little more quickly as if to catch up to where I had intended to point the tires. This issue has persisted to the point that I googled to see if other owners were having this issue, and that's when I discovered that NHTSA had added the 2023 CR-V to an existing complaint involving Honda Civics with the same steering components. I wish to lodge my complaint in the hopes of making Honda and the NHTSA aware that this issue is also affecting 2024 CR-Vs. I am extra frustrated because I feel like my front suspension/steering components are clunking where that was not an issue over the early life of the vehicle.
