Several times a day when I drive over un-even pavement the front end, wheels, & steering wheel start violently shaking and become uncontrollable to the point other vehicles move out of the way. It will only stop when speed is lowered low 5 mph. This has happened between 25-40 mph. Too afraid to drive at highway speeds. This vehicle is a 2021 with only 12,800 miles on it. "What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request?" - Rear subframe. Total rust through due to improper steel alloy and insufficient paint. Same as happened for the front subframe. Front subframe was recalled as 2818I (Mazda's number) and 19V-323, 18V-631 (NHTSA numbers). NHTSA should also mandate rear subframe be recalled. "How was your safety
... or the safety of others put at risk?" - Total catastrophic structural failure of rear suspension. Would result in a total loss of control while driving. This would likely lead to a severe, possibly fatal accident at-speed. "Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center?" - As reported by independent service center. "Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others?" - no, this exact vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer. Manufacturer is doubtless aware of the issue. A cursory google search leads to dozens of identical cases. "Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear?" - there were no warnings of the failure prior to discovery by service center.Read more

At March 23rd, 2024, we have oil change on the car. The service sales came back to tell us that the front lower control arms' bushing is torn and needed repair immediately. Without repairing them, the wheels may disengage from the car. So we have them replaced, since losing the wheels during driving will cost our lives. This is for our safety. What can we do???!!! On conversation with the sales, h
... e said this is a common phenomenon. Our problem on this is that, all the cars that we have owned, we never had the issue. This is the first time. Is this a common occurrence? We are not sure. And we simply can not understand why eight months ago during another oil change, this issue was not detected?! Could this be a faulty component installed on the car, we questioned? We also contacted Nissan consumer affairs. Their specialist insisted our car is out of warranty. There is nothing they can do. Is this a responsible car manufacturer's response? At least, they should look in the issue and gave us a satisfying answer, we believed. Anyway, please look into this. On the parts that were replaced, dealership has them. We don't have them in our hand.Sorry about this. All and all, please look into the issue. We just want other Rogue owners spared of the issue! Incident date: Apr 3, 2024
I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding the X-REAS suspension system in the Limited Edition 4Runner manufactured by Toyota. Specifically, I am addressing the alarming issue of suspension failure experienced in vehicles at just 45,000 miles, posing significant safety risks to drivers and passengers alike. The X-REAS suspension failure in the Limited Edition 4Runner is not
... merely an inconvenience; it is a serious safety hazard that puts lives at risk. The abrupt failure of the suspension system at relatively low mileage creates an unpredictable driving experience, jeopardizing the stability and control of the vehicle. This instability can lead to loss of control, especially at high speeds or during emergency maneuvers, resulting in potentially catastrophic accidents. Furthermore, it is deeply troubling to discover that Toyota may have been aware of this issue and yet failed to take proactive measures to address it. The apparent negligence on the part of Toyota in acknowledging and rectifying the problem reflects a blatant disregard for consumer safety. By continuing to produce and sell vehicles equipped with a defective suspension system, Toyota is knowingly putting drivers, passengers, and other road users in harm's way. As a concerned consumer and advocate for road safety, I urge the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to launch a thorough investigation into the X-REAS suspension failure in the Limited Edition 4Runner. It is imperative that Toyota be held accountable for its failure to address this issue promptly and effectively. Furthermore, I implore the NHTSA to take decisive action to ensure the safety and well-being of all motorists by compelling Toyota to initiate a comprehensive recall and repair program for affected vehicles. Every individual has the right to feel safe and secure while operating a motor vehicle.Read more

Due to this being an extremely widespread and known issue, this must be further investigated and upgraded to a full recall. Without a full on recall, unsafe vehicles will continue to be utilized on roadways, causing safety concerns to owners, passengers, and others on the roadway. Chevrolet has just refused to repair the damage due to the expiration of the factory warranty period. The vehicle was in possession of Chevrolet several times during the warranty period, but the resolution and repair was not completed. Per the TSB, this was to be completed and Chevrolet acknowledged the issue.
