At speed, my wife was driving and without warning was pulled into oncoming traffic. Thank goodness, no accident. A completely failed and broken rear control arm (photo attached). I was told Nissan offered an extended 10 year warranty for this. We were 10 months beyond that. This is no exaggeration, people will be killed because of this. The part literally separated in 2, causing the wheel to immed
... iately slant at a near 45-degree outward angle and shoot ther car forcefully across the lane. One day prior she was on the expressway in [XXX] . I can’t imagine the outcome there. To make this an extended warranty item and not a recall to me is this agency not looking out for the citizens of this country. Nissan is protected, but that should not be this agencies mission. This should be a recall. I can’t imagine how many thousands of people are out there this very day with this suspension part right at the breaking point. We received no notice about this extended warranty, no notice that would have prompted me to have it checked out. It was an accident-bomb waiting to explode. The repair was $1500, and despite having a part Nissan themselves admit is prone to failure, they are dodging the financial ramifications of their inadequate part. ... ehicle following collision repairs performed by Gerber Collision & Glass under a claim handled by State Farm Insurance. After the repair, the vehicle began exhibiting multiple safety-related issues, including: - Steering instability and shaking - Engine performance issues and abnormal noise - HVAC malfunction - Persistent chemical and/or coolant odors - Physical symptoms while driving, including dizziness, lightheadedness, and shortness of breath I returned to the repair facility with photographic evidence showing parts with visible wear and damage that appear inconsistent with proper replacement. Despite this, no diagnostic evaluation was performed, and no corrective action was taken. The repair facility has refused to address the condition of these parts, and the insurer has refused to authorize further inspection. Additionally, there are discrepancies between the insurance estimate and the final repair invoice, raising concerns about whether the documented work matches what was actually performed, including work involving structural components such as the cradle/subframe. I believe this vehicle may be unsafe to operate and that the repair may have introduced or failed to correct conditions that pose a risk to driver safety. I request that this matter be reviewed as a potential safety defect related to post-collision repair. 2022 Rivian R1T, VIN [XXX] . On March 14, 2026, my service appointment at El Segundo Rivian service center [XXX] ) was deleted from the Rivian app along with all service requests and a timestamped customer message thread documenting my visit that day. Deleted items included active recall remedies FSAM-1795 (seat belt retractor bolts improperly torqued, NHTSA notification mailed ~March 9, 2026) an
... d FSAM-1794 / NHTSA 26V003 (rear toe link improper reassembly, risk of joint separation while driving, notification mailed ~February 24, 2026), plus tire rotation, windshield replacement, and suspension repair. Both recalls were issued within 3 weeks of the deletion. This was the third of three consecutive failed appointments — all failed because El Segundo could not provide a promised loaner vehicle (January 21, February 10, March 14, 2026). The only surviving record [XXX] ) was altered by Rivian Service — they inserted the statement that ride height appears to be as expected and does not show variance before any inspection, directly contradicting my written report and a video I submitted through the Rivian app on January 2, 2026 at 9:34am documenting the defect. Rivian also added an all-caps requirement to replicate the issue on a test drive prior to intake despite existing written and video documentation. Rivian has a federal obligation to complete FSAM-1795 and FSAM-1794. Neither has been reinstated as of April 1, 2026. Formal complaint delivered to Rivian CEO via USPS Certified Mail March 18, 2026. Only response was a generic form letter (Inquiry #xxx) stating matter appears resolved. See also separately filed NHTSA complaint re suspension defect, same VIN. 2022 Rivian R1T, VIN [XXX] . Recurring suspension defects since delivery June 2022, documented across 18 service visits over 3.5 years. Rivian performed multiple repairs including Gen 2 suspension component replacement. This defect has never been permanently resolved. On July 11, 2025, El Segundo service center [XXX] ) repaired the front end lowering in standard parking mode — causing the vehic
... le to sit unlevel and knock the tires out of alignment when driving off. They repaired the suspension and corrected the alignment. In August 2025 a related defect appeared: when exiting camp leveling mode, the vehicle does not return to drive height. Instead it behaves as though still entering camp mode, forcing a slow drive-away during which the vehicle behaves erratically, knocking tires out of alignment — the same mechanism as the July parking mode issue. I reported this to Rivian in fall 2025. Despite scheduling three appointments — January 21, February 10, and March 14, 2026 — El Segundo failed to complete service all three times due to inability to provide a promised loaner vehicle. Suspension unserviced since July 11, 2025 — 9 months. On March 31, 2026 I filmed the front end lowering in parking mode recurring — same defect supposedly repaired July 2025. Vehicle self-leveled when I manually raised the suspension, but recurrence after a Rivian repair attempt is a safety concern. Video dated March 31, 2026 available. Service appointment also deleted from Rivian app March 14, 2026 including active recall remedies FSAM-1795 and FSAM-1794 — addressed in separately filed NHTSA complaint. Surviving record altered by Rivian Service to state ride height appears normal before any inspection, contradicting my report and app video submitted January 2, 2026 at 9:34am. Formal complaint delivered to Rivian CEO via USPS Certified Mail March 18, 2026. No substantive response as of April 1, 2026. I am reporting a severe steering safety defect on my 2022 Honda Civic that matches the symptoms of NHTSA Campaign Number 24V-744 and Honda TSB 23-037.At highway speeds (40–70 mph), the steering wheel "sticks" or "notches" in the center position. To make small lane adjustments, I must apply significant force to "break" the wheel loose. This causes the car to jerk or overcorrect, creating a high r
... isk of a collision. Additionally, there is a metallic clicking/knocking noise coming from the steering rack during low-speed maneuvers.I have contacted Honda Corporate, but they denied a repair because my specific VIN has not yet been uploaded to the 24V-744 recall database, despite the vehicle exhibiting the exact manufacturing defect (swollen worm gear/high friction) described in the recall. The vehicle has approximately 62,000 miles and the issue has been persistent since 40,000 miles.I am requesting that NHTSA investigate why my production batch is excluded from the current recall despite having an identical steering gearbox failure that renders the vehicle unsafe to drive.Read more

My SUV pulls hard to the right when braking at speeds above 50 mph and much more on the interstates at 65 mph and above. I first experienced this after three weeks of ownership on a drive up I-95 on a trip to NC. It has happened numerous times while traveling on the interstates and has almost caused loss of control when having to brake hard when cut off by another driver or traffic suddenly coming
... to a stop. The vehicle has been to the service department numerous times....at first they suspected a braking issue and have had both calipers replaced, all brake lines replaced, lower control arms replaced and the right side strut replaced. None of these repairs have solved the problem. The factory service rep who took over the situation tested 3 other GMC 2025 Terrain suvs and all had the same problem. He reported the issue on a safety report to GM in Michigan and the response from GM was that it is a normal condition for the Terrain models. I have never owned, driven, or ridden in another vehicle in over 50 years of driving which performed like this, this is not a normal condition in my opinion.Read more

My 2023 Lincoln Aviator has a grinding noise when I back up. Also a rattle has begun at all speeds. I had vehicled check and the axles were found to be totally rusted. Prior to having it towed to the detail i did some research and found the following -- A 2023 Lincoln Aviator recall regarding a "rusted" or breaking axle generally refers to a serious issue where the rear axle bolt can fracture,
... causing the rear subframe to disconnect, potentially leading to a loss of control or rollaway . This issue often stems from stress corrosion, prompting recalls for subframe inspections and repairs. [XXX] +4 Key Information regarding 2023 Lincoln Aviator Recalls: Safety Risk: A fractured rear axle bolt can cause the axle to disconnect, causing sudden power loss, severe vibration, and increased crash risk. Scope: While often associated with the 2020-2022 Ford Explorer/Aviator, owners should check for 2023 model year issues relating to rear axle subframe integrity. What to Do: Visit the official Lincoln Recall Page and enter your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to check for this or other active recalls. Repair: Authorized Lincoln Dealerships will inspect the axle bolt and rear subframe, performing necessary repairs at no cost to the owner. I have replaced several sets of tires with this Tesla Model X 2019. After years of dealing with a front end alignment problem, I finally had the repair done with some assistance from Tesla. When I purchased my vehicle under warranty, I reported problems with steering and pulling to one side, but they repeatedly claimed they couldn't replicate. This was before they allowed customers to drive wit
... h the repaid team. I mention the front-end problems as that has coupled with the rear tires. Inner wear is a consistent problem. I went to Costco today to have them look at tires I bought in November of 2024 and they said the tire was balding and unrepairable. In fact the tires were showing wear on both sides and needed to be replaced. A full set costs $1400.00+ and this is the second time I'm having to replace tires for wearing out quickly. There's a fix online from a company "N2itive". On their website they state, "The N2ITIVE SX-2 adjustable rear camber arms are designed to address the common inner tire wear issues that plague the Tesla Model S and X. These arms are available in the Red and Natural Anodized finishes with a 3-Year Warranty or the Black Anodized finish with Lifetime Warranty and work best when used in conjunction with our TSX-2 Toe Arms." I am the original owner of a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Sport with approximately 16,240 miles. The vehicle is completely unmodified. I am reporting a serious safety defect involving the steering and suspension system. When driving at highway speeds (50 mph and above), the vehicle experiences a violent front‑end oscillation whenever it encounters a bump, uneven pavement, or bridge expansion joints. The s
... teering wheel rapidly shakes left to right, and the entire vehicle shudders for 5 to 10 seconds. The oscillation does not stop until I slow the vehicle down to below 45 mph. This issue is reproducible and occurs frequently on rough or uneven road surfaces at highway speeds. During these events, I temporarily lose the ability to maintain proper steering control, creating a dangerous situation for myself, my passengers, and other drivers. This condition is commonly referred to as “Death Wobble,” and it makes the vehicle unsafe to operate. Given the severity of this defect and the safety risk it poses, I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue and that Jeep/Stellantis address the defect under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty (3‑year/36,000‑mile basic warranty). The front‑end suspension components—including the track bar, steering damper, ball joints, and related parts—should be inspected and repaired as necessary to eliminate this hazardous oscillation.Read more

Incident Overview: In late February 2026, at approximately 114,000 miles, this 2022 Rivian R1T suffered a comprehensive failure of its kinetic (hydraulic) suspension system. The failure occurred during normal on-road operation at approximately 60 mph in temperate (60°F) conditions. The vehicle has no history of off-road use or heavy hauling. Safety Risk & Critical Failure Mode: The suspension is
... a safety-critical system essential for vehicle stability, emergency braking, and predictable handling. A loss of hydraulic integrity in this system directly compromises the vehicle’s ability to maintain ride height and damping control. High-Speed Exposure: The initial failure manifested while traveling at 60 mph. Although a warning lamp was triggered, the vehicle’s functional safety logic failed to initiate a "limp mode" or restricted speed state. This allowed the 7,000lb vehicle to continue at highway speeds with a compromised high-pressure hydraulic circuit, posing an unreasonable risk of loss of control. Lack of System Redundancy: A localized hydraulic leak resulted in a cascading collapse of the entire architecture. Per the $10,662 service estimate, the repair requires replacing the front and rear dampers, hydraulic pump, manifold, and all fluid lines. This suggests a design-level vulnerability where a single-point failure in the hydraulic circuit necessitates a total system overhaul, indicating a lack of modularity or redundancy. Safety Protocol Gap: After diagnosing the leak, the authorized service center deferred to my personal judgment regarding operational safety. This forced an untrained consumer to make a critical safety determination on a high-pressure system while the vehicle remained capable of full highway speeds. Technical Confirmation: An authorized Rivian service center confirmed the failure on March 3, 2026, and determined a full system-wide replacement is required. All components are available for inspection. No prior warnings or symptoms were presenRead more

Referring to my 2008 Honda Pilot, as I was pulling into my driveway I heard a very loud bang in the rear area of my vehicle. Beginning in January 2026, the vehicle exhibited progressive symptoms including repeated lurching and difficulty shifting gears. These symptoms are consistent with the open and incomplete recall for the transmission shifter cable bushing and the powertrain control module reprogram. On or around March 25–26, 2026, while operating the vehicle at approximately 35 mph on a surface street, the foll
... owing failure sequence occurred: the vehicle began producing a repetitive thudding sensation (thud-thud-thud), followed by violent shaking of the steering wheel, followed by a complete loss of steering response. The vehicle drifted uncontrollably into an adjacent lane of active traffic under clear, dry weather conditions — a loss of control consistent with brake hose failure causing uneven braking force, compounded by the known transmission and PCM defects. Collision with another vehicle was narrowly avoided. The vehicle currently has five open, incomplete recalls: (1) front brake flexible hose leak, (2) rear brake flexible hose leak, (3) transmission shifter cable bushing, (4) rear-view camera inspection, (5) powertrain control module reprogram. None have been completed. The described failure is consistent with and likely caused by these unresolved manufacturing defects. But the Owner has attempted multiple times to bring the vehicle to Ford but was turned away due to dealer capacity. No loaner vehicle was offered.Read more

My dealer says my subframe needs to be replaced, and controll arm at a cost of 3600 dollars, I don't understand why my subframe needs to be replaced, I've owned cars for as long as 20 yrs and never had that problem. This sounds like a manufacturers problem.

Rear subframe suddenly collapsed and broke due to extreme corrosion. Incident occurred while driving, allowing rear wheel to turn out causing loss of control. Luckily I was traveling at a low rate of speed and nobody was hurt. Found rear subframe was completely rotten out and collapsed on the driver side. Vehicle is now completely undrivable and has to be towed. Found that there was a recall/
... service program from Hyundai (campaign #947) and my vehicle was affected. I called my local dealership to schedule an inspection appointment regarding the recall. Dealership told me I had to call Hyundai customer care. I called customer care on Tuesday and my claim was escalated. The representative told me that I would be contacted by Hyundai within two days. I have not received any correspondence from the case manager. Called Hyundai Customer Care once more and the representative told me that they can't contact claims representatives directly and I would have to wait until they decide to call me.Read more

I'd like to report an incidence of manufacturer non-compliance. We've had recall number 25V-514 open since September 30, 2025. The dealership has said that they don't have a part and simply left it at that. I called Land Rover, and they also indicated that they don't have a part. They won't provide any more details. It has now been 176 days since this we received the letter. I'm sure that La
... nd Rover knew about this problem long before the letter was sent. This is a beyond unacceptable timeframe to process this recall. They are putting the lives of consumers at risk. The letter states, "Suspension arm detachment can cause a loss of vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash." This is a safety issue and they have an obligation to fix it. This is beyond the "reasonable" timeframe to complete a recall.Read more

Filing a complaint about lack of remedy for NHTSA Recall Number 25V-514, manufacture recall number D019. I planned to put this car on Turo to rent, and I cannot list it if it has an active recall. It’s a financial strain for me, and I would greatly appreciate a fix.

THIS IS MY 3RD COMPLAINT (Ref: Previous Reports). THE VEHICLE IS NOW A TOTAL LOSS. 1. UNRESOLVED ENGINE/STEERING (Prior Complaints): This 2013 Malibu has a documented history of sudden engine stalling and total loss of power steering at highway speeds. Despite reporting this twice to the NHTSA and to GM, the manufacturer failed to provide a remedy. 2. RECENT SYSTEMIC COLLAPSE: Prior to the car bec
... oming completely undrivable in my driveway, the instrument cluster suffered a total blackout (no speedometer/indicators). This matches GM TSB MC-10181662-9999, proving a known design defect in the electrical system/BCM. 3. RECALL DISCREPANCY: In addition to these engine/steering failures, a mandatory federal recall for the Rear Suspension Toe Link (20V764), which I was notified of in 2020, has 'vanished' from the system without being performed. 4. DENIAL OF SERVICE: The dealer is demanding a $1,900 diagnostic fee to even look at these documented, life-threatening safety defects, including the free federal recall. This is a violation of the Maryland Implied Warranty of Merchantability. On January 6, 2026, the check engine light illuminated, followed by a total instrument cluster blackout and electrical failure. The vehicle has been undrivable in my driveway since this total system collapse. This follows years of stalling and steering issues that the manufacturer failed to remedy."Read more

The vehicle experienced a failure of the air suspension system, initially presenting with warnings indicating the vehicle was raising and advising not to drive to avoid damage. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle became visibly uneven, tilting approximately 2–3 inches to the driver side. I took the vehicle to Rivian service, where they confirmed the air suspension had failed. The repair was not cove
... red under warranty, so I initially declined service while attempting to escalate the issue. During this time, the condition worsened significantly, with the vehicle continuing to tilt and the suspension actively lowering while driving. On multiple occasions, the vehicle became unstable and began bouncing uncontrollably, making it difficult to steer and maintain control, creating a serious safety risk and potential for collision. The issue was ongoing and reproducible. I ultimately proceeded with the repair and had the suspension system replaced; however, following the repair, the vehicle is now tilting in the opposite direction (passenger side), indicating a continued or recurring failure. The vehicle is available for inspection, and a follow-up service appointment is scheduled. The cause appears to be a failure of the air suspension system and/or improper repair, though the exact root cause is unknown.Read more
