Dealership: Mercedes-Benz of Santa Fe, 2586 Camino Entrada, Santa Fe, NM 87507 I am filing this complaint regarding multiple unresolved safety defects in my 2024 Mercedes-Benz C300 persisting across numerous repair visits since February 2026. Defect 1 – Recurring Strut Assembly: Following an AC sensor replacement on February 11, 2026, a loud rattling noise emerged from the dashboard/strut area.
... The vehicle was retained 22 days without resolution. The strut plate was repaired, but the noise recurred. Parts were ordered for the strut assembly, requiring me to drive the defective vehicle for approximately two additional weeks. As of June 8, 2026, the noise remains unresolved. A defective strut assembly affects handling, stability, and steering — creating serious risk at highway speeds. Defect 2 – Safety Systems Disabled: Following the strut plate repair, all driver assistance systems — including collision avoidance and lane keeping — were completely disabled. A warning message confirmed the systems were inoperable. A subsequent software update was required to restore them. Defect 3 – Check Engine Light; Dealer Advised Continued Operation: While driving with the unrepaired strut assembly, the check engine light illuminated. I have photographic evidence. Service Manager Simon explicitly advised me it was safe to continue driving. I contest this. I was not provided a loaner vehicle. Inaccurate Service Records: On June 5, 2026, service notes falsely stated the check engine light was not illuminated. I presented photographic evidence to service representative Robert Rodriguez, who verbally confirmed the photograph. The record was not corrected, potentially obscuring defect patterns from NHTSA review. I respectfully request NHTSA add this complaint to the public database, investigate whether this model has a safety-related defect pattern, and review the dealership's practice of advising consumers to operate vehicles with known structural defects.Read more

The rear subframe bushing is torn, resulting in the rear of the vehicle to sway side to side when traveling down the road at highway speeds, making it difficult to maintain lanes. Bushings are not covered by the 60k power train warranty, and resulting in a 2-3,000 dollar repair due to subframe in rear of vehicle needing dropped and bushing pressed out or entire subframe to be replaced.

Complaint Against Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. I am filing this complaint regarding the extraordinary delay in obtaining Toyota replacement parts needed to repair my 2026 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro. I purchased this vehicle new for approximately $89,000. On [XXX], it was rear-ended by another driver. The vehicle was delivered to the Ed Morse collision repair center, Delray Beach on April 3, 2026
... and has remained there ever since. The repair cannot be completed because Toyota replacement parts, including part numbers 51934-0C030 and 51949-0C040, have been unavailable for months. I was previously advised that Toyota expected a mid-June release date for the parts. However, the dealership parts department is now reporting the status as "TBD" with no confirmed availability date. As a result, I have been without my vehicle for more than two months. My insurance rental coverage has been exhausted, and I have incurred continuing transportation expenses while waiting for Toyota to supply the necessary parts. I opened Toyota Brand Engagement Center Case #[XXX] and have made repeated attempts to obtain accurate information regarding part availability and repair completion. Despite these efforts, I still have no reliable timeline for when my vehicle will be repaired and returned. The front camera behind the rear view mirror comes up with code and the cruise control will not work and the lane departure system and the forward Collision system and adaptive cruise control. The front camera issue can only be repaired by replacing the camera between 800 and 1500 cost to purchase the camera plus a 5 to $700 Adas aiming at the dealership and I don't feel that that's correct being
... that almost every single Honda Odyssey I've touched in my repair shop from 2018 till current has this code coming up. Sometimes I can put a scan tool on the vehicle and clear out the code and do a dynamic aim and the vehicle will correct itself but it will come back relatively quickly and sometimes it's impossible and the camera needs to be changed before anything can be done and all of those systems are deactivated until the front forward facing camera has been replaced. I am a mechanic I service a lot of these Honda Odysseys I have a list of items that I find almost every single one has a problem with this particular vehicle I'm sending in about is my personal vehicle and it has had numerous issues that had nothing to do with the operators of the vehicle solely to do with quality of the vehicle front camera is one the sliding door cable housing collapsing too the rear shocks snapping apart at under 50,000 miles front strut mounts going bad at 60,000 miles. There's also an issue with the driver's seat belts fraying in my car in particular frayed in under 12,000 miles More troubling is that every customer I send to the dealer to get things repaired under warranty comes back weather repaired or not without a single item being recorded by the dealer invariably what ends up happening is the dealer will reset some parameter and make the message or error go away. They will then return the car without any documentation stating anything. I am writing to file a complaint regarding a serious issue with my Honda vehicle involving the turbocharger system. The turbocharger appears to be failing, causing a significant reduction in vehicle speed and performance while driving. During operation, the vehicle suddenly loses power and acceleration, making it difficult and potentially unsafe to maintain normal traffic speeds. At the same time
... , multiple warning lights illuminate on the dashboard, indicating possible engine and system malfunctions. This issue creates a serious safety concern for both myself and other drivers, as the vehicle may unexpectedly slow down while traveling on highways or busy roadways. The condition has negatively impacted the reliability and dependability of my vehicle. I am requesting that Honda investigate this matter promptly and provide assistance in diagnosing and correcting the issue. While driving at city speeds, I heard a rubbing/grinding noise from the right rear of the vehicle and noticed that the suspension no longer felt normal. The condition appeared suddenly without prior warning messages or warning lights. I do not

The manufacturer determined the damage was impact-related and not covered under warranty. Recommended repairs include replacement of the right rear knuckle, upper longitudinal link, toe link, hub bearing, and halfshaft. The failure resulted in a significant change in rear suspension geometry and raised concerns about vehicle safety. The damaged components are currently in the possession of the manufacturer service center and may be available for inspection.Read more

I am reporting a serious safety defect involving my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (VIN: [XXX]). The most significant issue occurred at approximately 50,000 miles when the vehicle experienced a violent steering and suspension instability event commonly referred to as "death wobble." While traveling at approximately 60 mph on a highway, the vehicle suddenly began shaking violently from side to side. Th
... e steering wheel became extremely difficult to control, and I had to fight to maintain control of the vehicle while slowing down in active traffic. The event was severe enough that I genuinely feared the vehicle could roll over or cause a collision. Prior to my experience, my wife experienced a similar incident while driving the same vehicle. The safety risk extends beyond my family to surrounding motorists who could be involved if the driver loses control. Immediately following the incident, I contacted the servicing dealership, Jeep Chrysler of Somerset, Massachusetts. The dealership informed me this was a known issue and instructed me not to drive the vehicle above 55 mph until it could be inspected. After inspection, I was advised that the steering damper was defective and that additional suspension-related components could also be contributing factors. The steering damper was replaced, but I was required to pay for the repair. The dealership further advised that instability could continue and recommended changing to smaller tires to reduce the issue. I also reported concerns through Jeep/Stellantis customer service channels and have documented multiple service visits regarding this and other vehicle issues. Despite repairs, the vehicle has never driven the same. This defect causes severe voltage fluctuations and sudden heavy steering loss while driving, creating an immediate crash hazard and spontaneous under hood fire risk while parked. Dealer history & warranty abuse: certified jeep dealerships have repeatedly failed to fix the root cause. Elm Grove Jeep (Wheeling WV) misdiagnosed the system and repeatedly billed my third-party warranty for thousands of dollars to fix cascading mechanical damage instead of the underlying defect. Parts replaced is 4 consecutive sets of rear shocks, front shocks, a steering clock spring and a drag link pitman arm boot. when elm grove failed to resolve it Stellantis corporate instructed me to take it to another dealer for a star case to be opened there. I took it to Steubenville Jeep (Ohio) with an active ASC light and failed rear shocks and was told "couldn't replicate" the issue and dismissed it. A few weeks ago, the service "start-stop" safety light triggered. Stellantis had corporate knowledge of this ongoing defect for months via prior state Attorney General case but refused to cooperate and waited knowing AG wouldn't keep it open past a certain number of days and replied a day outside of the window. I am filing a safety complaint for my 2020 BMW X4, VIN [XXX]. The vehicle recently began making a noticeable noise while turning. I reported this to an authorized BMW dealer before/during service and requested review for possible front-end, steering, suspension, axle, swivel bearing, tie rod, thrust rod, or vehicle-control safety issues. The dealer stated it did not find a swivel bearing issue, bu
... t identified worn thrust rod bushings and collapsed motor mounts. I was quoted approx. $1,950 for thrust rods and approx. $3,450 for motor mounts. I am concerned the worn thrust rod bushings involve the same general front suspension/steering/vehicle-handling system as the turning-noise concern I reported. I asked BMW North America and the dealer to review whether this condition may relate to or overlap with known BMW X4 steering/front axle/suspension recalls, including NHTSA Recall Nos. 19V678000, 19V738000, and 20V355000. BMW/dealer representatives stated there are no open recalls for my VIN and that BMW NA will not provide assistance, but I have not received a complete written explanation confirming that the dealer’s actual findings were reviewed against those recalls, campaigns, or safety concerns. On XXX, the service manager emailed that BMW NA Customer Relations allegedly said there are no open cases, the most recent case was closed, no assistance will be provided for suspension concerns, and the vehicle has no open recalls. The same email required return of the loaner by 5:00 PM if repairs are not approved. I am concerned this pressure is occurring before a complete safety/recall review is provided. No crash, injury, or fire occurred. I am requesting NHTSA review potential safety concerns involving the 2020 BMW X4 front suspension, steering, thrust rod bushings, swivel bearings, tie rods, motor mounts, turning-related noise, and whether additional VINs should be reviewed for recall/campaign applicability. I am submitting this letter to formally report two ongoing issues with my 2018 Buick Enclave. First, I have experienced persistent problems with the emissions purge valve. My vehicle has repeatedly triggered diagnostic trouble code P0496, indicating a malfunction in the purge valve system. I am aware that this issue has been the subject of recall campaigns for other Buick Enclave models; however,
... my vehicle has not been included in any such recall, despite exhibiting the same symptoms. This malfunction has resulted in persistent check engine warnings and noticeable performance concerns, raising questions about emissions compliance and the overall reliability of my vehicle. Given that other vehicles of the same make and model year have been recalled for the same issue, I respectfully request that my vehicle be reviewed for inclusion in the recall. Second, I am formally reporting a malfunction involving the stabilizers. Recently, I have noticed unusual noises and instability when driving, particularly when turning or traveling over uneven surfaces, which indicates a potential stabilizer malfunction. These issues have persisted despite regular maintenance and inspections, affecting the handling and safety of the vehicle. I believe this may represent a manufacturing or design defect that could pose a risk to other owners of the same make and model. I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigate this matter further. I kindly ask the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to consider expanding the existing recall to encompass additional vehicles affected by this defect. A 2021 Tesla Model Y experienced steering/suspension warnings followed shortly by a steering-assist reduction event. On or around May 21, 2026, the vehicle displayed: “Steering alignment service recommended — OK to drive, schedule service soon.” The vehicle was brought to Tesla because the owner was concerned the car had detected a steering, alignment, suspension, or safety-related conditio
... n. The Tesla invoice from that visit appears inconsistent. It states that “a wheel alignment check was completed,” but also states “No Labor Performed — Customer Did Not Authorize Repairs or Inspection,” with 0.00 labor hours and no charge. A documented steering/suspension diagnostic inspection, alignment report, alert-log review, or safety assessment was not performed by Tesla or inspected. The owner was advised to replace tires and return later. Approximately 90 miles later, during a low-speed three-point turn, the vehicle made a loud pop/clunk from the front area and displayed: “Steering assist reduced — Steering may require increased effort.” A related alert also stated Lane Departure Avoidance features were unavailable. This created a safety concern because steering effort may unexpectedly increase during low-speed turns or parking maneuvers. Tesla later inspected the vehicle and documented torn front lower lateral/compliance link bushings and vehicle log data showing steering gear alerts. Tesla replaced the front lower lateral links and front lower compliance links and performed alignment work. After those repairs, Tesla stated a steering gear alert was still present and recommended steering gear/steering rack replacement with additional alignment work. The concern is that a steering/alignment warning occurred shortly before the physical front-end failure and reduced steering-assist event, but the earlier Tesla visit does not clearly document that the warning was meaningfully inspected or safety-assessed. Vehicle is currently unsafe to drive and is in Teslas possessionRead more

[XXX] [XXX] [XXX]; [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] Date: XXX To: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) Subject: Formal Safety Defect Complaint – 2017 Hyundai Sonata Theta II Engine Failure, Excessive Oil Consumption, Intake/Engine Component Failure and Safety Hazard Dear Sir or Madam: I am submitting this formal complaint and request for immediate investigat
... ion into the dangerous and ongoing mechanical failures involving my 2017 Hyundai Sonata equipped with the Theta II engine. I believe this vehicle contains a serious manufacturing and/or engineering defect that presents a substantial safety hazard to consumers. My vehicle has experienced a pattern of progressive mechanical failure beginning with abnormal and excessive oil consumption, which appears to be directly associated with malfunctioning engine airflow and intake-related components. Specifically, the lower engine airflow system and intake functionality appear defective, placing excessive strain on the intake manifold system and contributing to cascading engine failures. As a result of these failures, the vehicle has experienced: Severe and excessive oil burning/consumption Intake manifold malfunction and abnormal operating stress Suspected overheating and/or premature head gasket failure Ignition coil failure and electrical shorting/misfires Progressive engine deterioration rendering the vehicle unsafe and unreliable Increased risk of sudden engine shutdown, stalling, fire hazard, or catastrophic engine failure while operating The vehicle has become increasingly unreliable and inoperable due to these conditions. These failures raise significant concerns regarding public safety, especially given the known history of complaints and recalls associated with Hyundai Theta II engine defects. I am deeply concerned that this vehicle may reflect a broader pattern of defective manufacturing, insufficient quality control. ... 23 Bronco Sport, with a DO NOT DRIVE ADVISORY due to a suspension failure, was issued. These issues are incredibly unsafe and put drivers at a very serious risk of injury or death. I attempted to work with a local Ford dealership in hopes they would buy the vehicle back however they REFUSED unless I traded it in for another vehicle on their lot. Otherwise, I would have had to PAY FORD $2,000 to make up the difference in “value” (I disputed the value as I had one KBB report and they had a “different” one) and my loan payoff. I stated several times I cannot put thousands of dollars down to purchase a new vehicle at this time; however, I do not want to drive this unsafe hazardous vehicle for another day. They would not work with me at all nor did they offer to fix it or even look at the vehicle. Under NO circumstances should an owner have to pay Ford for their negligence and poor manufacturing, especially with a recent DO NOT DRIVE ADVISORY issued, no matter how much the owner owes on their loan. This is 100% a FORD issue, not a user issue, not wear and tear issue. These recalls are wildly unsafe and defective issues that lie within FORD that we as owners, should not bear the burden for. How is FORD being held accountable and at what point will they start buying these unsafe and terrible cars back without penalizing the owners? It seems far more logical and safe to buy back and lose out on $2,000 rather than taking the risk on paying millions and millions of dollars in lawsuits. This is a disgusting business practice on behalf of FORD and they should be held accountable.Read more

Vehicle has been in and out of the Dealership since 12/2024 to address the problem, however FCA/Stellanis has come back with no fix or solution to the problem and states to bring the vehicle in every 3,000 miles to have an alignment done, which is unacceptable. The vehicle has most recently been at the Dealership since 1/2026 and is still currently at the Dealership as of today 6/5/2026. A Star ticket was opened with the Manufacturer to address the issues, and a Field Engineer was sent out who was unable to diagnose why the alignment is falling out after the vehicle is realigned. Stellanis/FCA is now claiming this is a "maintenance" issue and not a manufacturing defect. The Dealership most recently had an independent technician who specializes in diagnostics/troubleshooting FCA issues look at the vehicle and the technician also could not diagnose why the alignment is continuing to fail. Online forums have hundreds of Consumer complaints about this same issue with trying to get it resolved with FCA directly and having no luck. This is a major safety issue that will eventually lead to a tire blowout or veering off the road and could result in serious injuries to someone if this is not addressed properly. It should not take someone getting in an accident or being killed/seriously injured for FCA/Stellanis to take this manufacturing defect seriously. These vehicles need to be recalled and thoroughly inspected with thorough alignment testing.Read more

The control arm detached from the front subframe due to massive rust on a car that was well cared for and only 10 years old. This happened as we were driving: the front passenger-side wheel became loose and began flopping back and forth, forcing me to immediately pull over into a gas station. I do not want to imagine what would have happened if this had detached on the highway instead of on a town
... side road. There were NO warnings or symptoms before this catastrophic failure. I had it towed to my regular mechanic, not realizing the extent of the damage—they wouldn't even put it on a lift. I then had it towed to the dealership, where they confirmed the damage was so extensive that (1) both control arms and the front subframe would need to be replaced due to rust ($5,800), and (2) the rear subframe was also extensively rusted, unsafe, and in need of imminent replacement, quoted at an additional $7,000. This being an exorbitant amount for a 10-year-old Nissan Pathfinder, I was forced to sell it to a salvage yard for a pittance just to buy a vehicle I could drive to work—and I can only hope it lasts until I can afford something better. I purchased this Pathfinder about 14 months ago. It was "inspected" by the dealer as well as by my regular mechanic at that time, with no indication that rust was a concern or even worth a comment. I am horrified by how much worse this could have been. We were on a trip more than an hour from home, heading toward the highway to return, when this occurred. No one should have to worry about something like this. Especially because, when I began researching, I found that this is a KNOWN defect on this model and others like it. It is NOT okay to put people at risk of serious or deadly injury when manufacturers KNOW water pools in places that can't be seen or checked, rotting the frame and subframe from the INSIDE out.Read more

The contact owns a 2023 Tesla Model Y. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle on the highway at an undisclosed speed, she heard a loud noise and suddenly lost control of the vehicle. The contact was able to pull off to the side of the road while the vehicle made a loud squealing noise and swerved simultaneously. The contact stated that her passenger side wheel had came off and a bolt.
... The vehicle was towed three separate times: first to a nearby parking lot, then to the contact's residence, and finally to the dealership. The vehicle was not officially diagnosed, but the contact noted that the lower suspension component was completely separated from the front passenger side wheel and touching the ground. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,844.Read more

I am writing to formally request reconsideration of Hyundai’s denial of assistance for the transmission failure in my 2021 Hyundai Palisade. I purchased this vehicle with the expectation that Hyundai vehicles are built to provide dependable transportation and that major components such as the transmission would last well beyond the current mileage and age of the vehicle. Unfortunately, I have e
... xperienced a significant transmission failure that has resulted in substantial repair costs. I have made every effort to properly maintain this vehicle and have acted responsibly as an owner. Given the relatively recent model year of the vehicle, I believe a transmission failure of this magnitude is unreasonable and may indicate a defect in materials or workmanship. I respectfully request that Hyundai review my case again and consider providing goodwill assistance, cost-sharing, or full coverage of the transmission repair. As a long-time consumer, I am extremely disappointed with the current outcome and hope Hyundai will stand behind its product. I would appreciate a written response explaining the reason for the denial and any options available for further review.Read more

I had the rear toe links replaced under recall 21s32 on April 1, 2026. Within a month I started hearing a clunking noise from the back drivers side wheel whenever I hit a bump. My local mechanic looked at the Explorer and said the problem is the knuckle bushing. I contacted the Ford service department and asked them to fix it under customer satisfaction program 22N01.
