The rear driver door will not open. It seems the door handle does not open the door from the exterior of the vehicle. The door will also not open from the interior of the vehicle. It feels like the handle has come lose from the door latch mechanism to open the door of the vehicle. This is a big safety concern if there is a passenger sitting behind the driver and they cannot exit the vehicle.

My husband and I bought a 2022 Sea Doo Switch compact sport (BRP) around August of 2022, and with the boat we were given this trailer, which is not compatible with salt water. We are salt water boaters in Florida. In 2022, BRP apparently did not make a trailer for this boat that could handle the salt water, but we heard they did moving forward in 2023. Knowing that our trailer would eventually rus
... t out, we opened a case with BRP April 13, 2023 but they did not respond. We opened another case in March of 2024 and still haven't received a response from BRP. On Tuesday, [XXX] my husband and I came back to our boat launch after a nice time on the water. As my husband was attaching the safety and winch and starting to crank, the base of the column holding the winch gave out. Because this happened were not able to get the boat to meet the boat stop, so the boat is UNSAFELY sitting about a foot off the trailer. We drove 10 mph home because the boat was not safely sitting on the trailer. Luckily no one got hurt at the boat ramp or while driving home. But now we cannot use our boat and I worry which piece on the trailer will give out next, and I am afraid it WILL injure someone in the future. We have already replaced the jack and had to have the electrical rewired for the brake lights, although the side lights still do not work. To answer the above questions: 1. The trailer itself is failing; electrical and winch has failed. It is available for inspection. 2. Boat is unsafely resting on the trailer and not able to be properly secured. 3. When I reach interstate speeds the hood starts to rattle and makes a very loud noise. It shakes as if it is going to come open. It also does then when I am behind a large tractor-trailer where the wind coming off whips the front of my care. I have checked to see if the hood needed a height adjustment but that isn't the issue. It is up as far as it can go and if I lower it any it gets even worse.

Unknown. I doubt this will qualify but it seems to be a very common issue so I feel it is worth bringing attention to. As I cleaned dirt and debris off of it I discovered that the frame from just before t

Doing research into repairs it seems that this generation and brand of vehicle had this problem seemingly universally. Which leads me to think it may have been a defect in manufacturing. Due to the bottom rusting out it’s hard to spot unless you crawl underneath. I’m sure I don’t have to go into detail as to why a compromised frame that people could be unaware of could be dangerous.Read more

My driver’s side door handle has broken. I have the broken handle if you need it. It’s a safety issue because it delays entering the car from the driver’s side, which could endanger an owner or a passenger who needs to get inside the vehicle. Apparently, this is a known problem in CR-Zs and is often blamed on the car being in a hot climate (spoiler alert: It’s getting hotter these days). M

I have had a local body shop install a new door handle; that one broke after a week of light use (driving once daily). These are expensive repairs, especially for a retired owner on a fixed income such as myself (the local Honda dealer quoted me $1,000 to replace the handle). There seemed to be no signs of a pending failure that I noticed; I just couldn’t open the driver’s door one day. PLEASE get Honda to recall and replace these faulty handles. I cannot afford $1,000 repair bill every week. (My previous vehicle was a 2008 Acura MDX that had no problems with the handles even after 15 years and 200,000 miles.)Read more

Seals for the air conditioning unit only last about a year before a new one is needed. Our local dealership is aware that this a widespread problem on Sprinters but Mercedes is refusing to to fix the issue. Secondly, the interior lights do not work. I was pulling my 2011 Toyota Siena into a parking space. My foot was on the brake and the car was going about 5 mph. The car made a slight sound, along with a perceptible yet small physical shift, and (while my foot was on the brake) independently accelerated with tremendous force. It was like it was ignited. The car hit a concrete pole and was totaled. The acceleration over-rode the brake. No one
... was hurt. The concrete pole averted what could have been a catastrophic accident, had we hit pedestrians, or had we rear ended a car or truck on the freeway. The brakes failed as the car jumped into independent acceleration. My safety and the safety of my passenger were both at risk. As I said, in a different situation, we might have hit pedestrians, or gone through the wall of the grocery store and hit customers. The concrete pole saved us and others. The mechanic at the service center where the car was towed said it was impossible to discern if there had been a failure in the system of the car - though clearly both my passenger and myself experienced that failure in the car's ability to override an independent, forceful acceleration not caused by the driver. There was no warning of any kind. On the Edmunds site, there are many, many testimonials by other drivers of the Toyota Siena of similar, frightening experiences of independent acceleration. It is terribly dangerous and should be investigated. If there is not a recall on this vehicle, there should be. This is a potentially catastrophic defect.Read more

The rear doors on the Model X are powered "Falcon Wing" doors. The motorize up in order to enter/exit the vehicle. The doors have ultrasonic sensors that allow the doors to sense if there is an obstacle in the way of the door's path of travel. When the vehicle is in a sunny hot location, the sensors on the doors either overheat, or the heat of the sun warps the door panel just enough that the sens
... ors are fooled into thinking that there is an obstacle in the way of the door, so the door will not open when the rear seat passenger attempts to exit. Under these conditions, pushing the button to open the rear doors causes them to open a few inches, and then the door beeps, and the door won't open any further. In order to get the door to open further, the occupant must hold the "door open" button for a few seconds, the door will beep, and assuming you've held the button continuously, the door will then slowly open. The process from first attempting to open the door, and actually getting it open so you can escape the rear seat, IF DONE PROPERLY, will take 20-30 seconds. That is an awful long time in an emergency situation. While I am glad that Tesla was able to fix my car, it seems insane that this issue isn't a life-safety recall. It is even more insane that I had to pay to be able to safely exit my vehicle. If a "regular door-ed" car had a latch mechanism, that when hot, would warp in such a way that pulling the inside latch would not reliably open the door, would that be recalled?Read more

On April 6, 2024 I was driving my 2006 Toyota Tundra when the brakes gave out and the vehicle went through the back wall of my garage. The brake fluid spilled onto the street and onto my driveway. There are 3 witnesses to this including a police officer. I am lucky that I was not a highway when this happened. I had the Tundra towed to a repair garage and they put it on a hoist. Two mechanics sho
... wed me the underside which is completely rusted , including some holes. They told me I would have continuous problems because of the rust. They also said that Toyota may have had a recall for my vehicle. I did the research and found that to be accurate. The recall includes millions Toyotas, including my Toyota Tundra, built between 2004 and 2008. So mine is eligible. However, Toyota did not contact me about the recall. Toyota did contact me about another recall involving the air bags. Toyota sent me a letter about the air bags. I still have the letter and I can send a copy if you wish. So, they have my name, address, and they know that I own the Tundra. But they did not contact me about the frame rust. Had they done so, I would have acted immediately. I purchased the vehicle in 2012, so it was a used vehicle. So, Toyota, obviously has had plenty of time to notify me, but they did not. I called Toyota and gave the person I talked to the VIN. She looked it up and told me there is " no service history of rust frame repair" for my Tundra" on their system. Toyota needs to rectify this. I expect that Toyota will pay for the rust frame damage, as they have for millions of other Toyotas, and for other damage to my vehicle, and other costs including towing costs, taxi service, the insurance deductible that I must pay for damage to my garage, two new front tires and other costs as they become known. This is only fair.Read more
