I've had this thing less than 6 months, I've already had the engine rebuilt with 34 parts a month and a half in and the drivers side rear door handle replaced during this time because it would not open from the outside and only the inside despite being unlocked. All of this occurred at the beginning of May 2024 and it sat for 3 months due to the engine being basically rebuilt with most parts being
... on backorder. Today the same door is having the same issue, only this time the same exact door won't open neither from the inside or outside, which is a huge safety hazard in my eyes if I got into an accident and had passengers in the backseat. I do have video proof of this too.Read more

Years back there was a recall in regard to the frame. I brought the truck into Colonial Toyota in Milford CT for the recall. I was advised that the frame was fine and did not need to be replaced. Recently when i brought the truck in for an oil change the owner advised me that the gas straps attached to the frame had rusted out. He demanded that I remove the vehicle from his facility ASAP du
... e to the excessive danger this created and not to drive the truck. He advised me to get rid of it. I reached out to a mechanic who advised that it could be welded back; however it would cost thousands of dollars to have that done. I contacted Toyota corporate to explain the situation and they advised me that there was nothing they could do to assist me with this issue. This truck had been well maintained and it ran perfectly with 280,000 miles. My goal was to run it to 400,000 miles as Toyota trucks tend to have a high mileage longevity when serviced as required. New A/C was replaced within the last three years; brakes/rotors/belts were replaced within the last 18 months. This truck was well maintained. Since this was my work truck I needed a vehicle ASAP and ended up purchasing a new 2024 Toyota Tundra which was an expense that I hadn't been expecting at all. I opted for the extended warranty option that was an EXTRA $3,000.00 to protect me and the new truck going forward. Toyota should be responsible for some of these additional expenses as it was TOYOTA who advised me during the RECALL that the frame was fine and DID NOT need to be replaced. Obviously that was not correct and they should be held responsible for the negative and very expensive outcome that this caused.Read more

Dear NHTSA Team, My Honda Odyssey 2018 EX has been having issues with my Driver side Sliding door opening/closing using the Auto power. It was randomly sometimes not fully closing (kept reopening). Then it would get fixed automatically . This was happening for 3+ years . I had got the open recalls done over the years. This week it just stopped opening suddenly . And it was not getting resolved
... either manually or even after turning ON/OFF car . I took it to Honda Dealership in Dublin, California . They said error code B2049 the left slide door motor and door cable , latch were all faulty. And it would cost about 2500$. This was very expensive and I asked them to just put the door back and they charged the labor cost of 730$. When i look up online I see in forums multiple customers having such issues in this 2018 to 2020 odyssey model. My car hasn't been in any accident and my door is in great condition visually, so it has to be some faulty mechanism with the door as I am first owner and have taken great care of the car. I have records of oil changes, tire changes and other maintenance over the 6 years of ownership. Request NHTSA team to help look into this as it may be some rework during the different recalls to fix the sliding door or a manufacturing issue still not fixed. This can be dangerous as customer needs a functioning door to enter/exit out of Van. Thanks [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Hyundai Motor America regarding a significant defect in the paint quality of my 2018 Hyundai vehicle and the company's lack of response to my attempts to resolve this issue.I am the owner of a 2018 Hyundai [Model], which I purchased from priority Hyundai in dec 2017. Over the past few months, the paint on my white Hyundai has started to peel signific
... antly, despite regular maintenance and care. This issue has not only affected the aesthetic appeal of my vehicle but also its potential resale value. I first reported this issue to have subsequently made multiple attempts to contact Hyundai’s customer service department directly. Despite these efforts, I have received no response or acknowledgment from Hyundai regarding my concerns. This lack of communication and failure to address the defect is unacceptable and does not align with the standards expected from a reputable automobile manufacturer. The paint peeling problem is not an isolated incident, as many other owners of 2018 Hyundai white vehicles have reported similar issues. This suggests a potential defect in the paint application process or materials used, which should be addressed under the vehicle’s warranty or through a manufacturer recall. My specific complaints are as follows: 1. Hyundai has failed to acknowledge or respond to my multiple attempts to contact them about the paint peeling issue. 2. Hyundai has not offered any solution or repair for the defective paint, which is clearly a manufacturing issue. 3. The lack of customer service and support from Hyundai in handling this complaint is highly disappointing. 1. Acknowledge receipt of my complaint and provide an explanation for the delay in response. 2. Arrange for an inspection of my vehicle and offer a comprehensive solution to the paint peeling issue, which may include repainting the affected areas or other appropriate measures. 3. Component failed: while traveling at 65 mph on [XXX] the black tank (waste tank) fell from its mounting brackets and hitting the road way. How was your safety at risk: Routed under the waste tank there are approximately 12 pow
... er wires, generator fuel lines (connect to 30 gallon fuel tank) and propane lines. (120 gallons), When i came to a stop and surveyed the damage along side the road, i realized my generator was running, caused by arching/shorting wires. I had numerous hot wires sparking and arching. the tank fell forward out of its mounts and the front was dragging on the road way along with the underbelly insulation. The generator fuel lines were loose and pulled from their mounts, but fortunately were not leaking. After the vehicle was safely secured and removed from the roadside, it was taken to a Keystone dealer in Saco, Maine. The dealer confirmed the tanks slid from the mounts, the technician stated, when installing the new tank, he was able to move the mounting brackets inwards to better secure /hold the tank in place. My tank brackets were moved one inch inward. In short, the process to install the tank mounts in the correct position is not repeatable. Dealer charges were $1,509. supplies to secure tank and connect wires were ~ $200. I have invoice, unable to upload. The vehicle is available for inspection, although repairs have been made. No warning lights or messages or symptoms were given. the tank is not visible from the underside due to the chassis insulation and shielding. When posting my experience on the Facebook Keystone Raptor website, I learn of 5-6 others who experienced the same issue, include a video with a tank dragging down the roadway. I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a serious safety concern involving the Honda Element model years 2003 through 2011. Specifically, this issue pertains to the rear trailing arm mounting area, which has been observed to rust through on numerous vehicles, including my own 2008 Honda Element. The rusting of the rear trailing arm mounting area poses a significant safety risk, as it
... can compromise the structural integrity of the vehicle's suspension system. This deterioration can lead to potential failure of the rear trailing arm, resulting in loss of control of the vehicle, particularly at higher speeds or during emergency maneuvers. The prevalence of this issue across multiple model years suggests a systemic problem that warrants investigation and potential recall. My vehicle, like many others, has experienced this issue despite regular maintenance and care. The rusting has occurred in a manner that is not typical of normal wear and tear, indicating a possible manufacturing or design defect. Given the safety implications of this problem, I urge the NHTSA to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the root cause and ensure the safety of all affected Honda Element owners. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your prompt response and action.Read more
