Sway bar was loose from manufacturer. Purchased 7/31. In the first two weeks of driving, I noticed an unusual sound when I turned the vehicle hard one way. At first I thought it was the frame flexing as it was new, however, it seemed to get worse. I noticed the steering become more loose as days went on. I called my salesman who asked me to bring it in to have service take a look. Turns out th
... at the swaybar was not screwed in tight or heck may have been missing a few bolts. Service center said that it came that way from the factory. Doesn't appear that service did a thorough look over when they rcvd the vehicle off the truck. They fixed it, no issue and did so timely. Second, I also noticed that it seems as if the clear coat on the paint job on the front two fenders and hood was missed. The layer, if any, is very very thin and almost non existent. I also noticed that the paint is very thin as if perhaps one coat. It is also a bit pitted almost on the hood and front left fender as if something was sprayed like overspray and the paint is almost pitted in those areas.Read more

After weathering hurricane Milton, the rear liftgate on my 2018 Honda Odyssey will not open. No apparent damage was done to the vehicle, however after starting the van, the dash stated there is a power liftgate issue. This warning was not present before. After doing some research the issue appears to be the tailgate control module, as many other people have found this to be the case. Some people
... have said to open the tailgate from the inside using the manual latch. However, in my case after attempting to do so, the door remains stuck. A lot of people have pointed to water intrusion as the reason for a faulty Tailgate Control Module. If I am able to open the liftgate manually I intend to replace the faulty module.Read more

Driving down the road at 60 mph, the front upper grill piece just came off, flew up into the windshield and then over the cab of the truck and landed in the street. This is a known defect on these trucks and has happened in 100's of cases. When it happens it makes you react as if you had hit something with the truck, if there had been anyone behind me it could have also caused damage or made them
... react badly to something flying thru the air. When it happened to me I was prepared for it since I had read online of it happening to so many people. When the brakes are applied while in low speeds and you are driving on rough pavement or you hit a bump in the road the car skids and won't come to a stop. It feels like the ABS has kicked in. There are a few brick roads in my town. In just one block when I stop it will skid almost completely through the stop sign. I have to brake almost halfway before I get to the stop sign. The other day I wa

I have only had my Palisade for a few months and the paint is chipping terribly. I have the night edition and 2 weeks after having it there were tons of chips in the grill. I do not live on gravel nor do I travel on gravel often. This should not be happening this soon. Why is there not a protectant applied? Why is my paint chipping so soon?Read more

The accident happened at Noon on [XXX] at the Amazon Fresh/Post office parking lot’s far right exit lane facing [XXX] The address is [XXX] . We were leaving the parking lot and I stopped at the exit lane with 2 cars in front of us. After the first car exited, the second car, a black Ford Explorer, moved forward. I released the brake slightly but my foot was still on the brake pedal. At this mo
... ment, my car suddenly accelerated and quickly approached the Explorer. I immediately pressed the brake pedal hard but was unable to stop my car and hit the back of the Explorer. The Explorer was forced out in front of the stop sign but the driver was able to turn right to park at the roadside. With my foot still firmly on the brake pedal, my car kept on accelerating into [XXX] , crossing 5 lanes of traffic until we hit the roadside curb of westbound [XXX] . The car then swerved left and hit a roadside tree, turning sideways into [XXX] middle turn lane. During this entire time, I did not press the accelerator and the car was violently shaking and jerking right and left. As the car slowed down, I was able to steer the car to the right eastbound lane of [XXX] , next to the parking lot near Bank of America’s ATM sign. After I got out of the car, I noticed the front and right sides of the body and tires were damaged including crushing, dents, and significant scratching. The problem I believe is as follows: 1.Sudden Unintended Acceleration and Control Circuit Malfunction. 2.Airbags did not deploy even though we hit a car, curb and tree. 3.Onboard Data Recorder should have the information needed. This incident occurred on the morning of [XXX]. I was driving my new, 2024 Toyota RAV4 hybrid on the highway (it has less than 20,000 miles on it). There were no vehicles or other obstacles or road debris of any kind near me. I suddenly heard an incredibly loud, explosive sound. It was like a gunshot or as if a body had fallen on my roof. I then heard the noise of wind. My sunroof had explod
... ed. Fortunately, I had the sunroof and the interior screen closed, so glass did not fall into my car. Once I was able to pull over, I examined the sunroof to find it had shattered and there was no indication of anything falling on or colliding with it. I took two photos and proceeded slowly to the Toyota dealer (Ourisman Toyota in Richmond, Va.) where I purchased the car brand-new/off-the-truck in February 2024. The dealer stated that they would not cover glass, including a spontaneously exploding sunroof on a new car, and so I am required to pay out of pocket. Although fortunately I was able to keep control of my car and was not injured, this was a serious and dangerous event. (Note, I was unable to upload the photos below, but have them available.) The rear subframe has plastic "stone guards" to protect the frame from being damaged in off-road conditions. Where these stone guards are attached, the subframe has rotted/rusted large holes. Water and salt from winter seasons can get trapped behind these guards. A subframe on a vehicle at this age should NOT have complete holes rotted through. Let alone a vehicle brand such as Audi, known for qua
... lity. The rear subframe connects the rear suspension and AWD drivetrain to the unibody of the vehicle. This is a major safety concern. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer; my Audi dealer denied this could happen. I am part of a few Audi groups/forums with others facing the same issues, and Audi replacing the subframe under the corrosion warranty. This is a widespread issue amongst the forums. There are no warnings or symptoms as of yet. I noticed the holes 3/17/24. The vehicle has been somewhat sufficient to operate. I just don't want to be traveling down the road with my family in the vehicle if the subframe collapses. I am afraid to fully remove the stone guards as others on the forums claimed that Audi would do nothing for them after removing the guards. Being that they are "protection".Read more

Sunroof Randomly exploded driving down the road.
Incident date: Oct 5, 2024
On Saturday October 5th at roughly 8:30 p.m. heading West on I-94 near battle creek, MI, the glass sunroof on our Mercedes suddenly exploded out and shattered. We were traveling at 75 mph with little surrounding traffic and no over-head obstructions. It took a second to re-gain control of the situation and slow down to a stop. We had the sun-shade closed, saving us from glass shards raining dow
... n from the exploded sunroof. The following Monday morning, Oct 7th around 9:00 a.m., we called Mercedes about the issue. They were indifferent and offered no assistance. They pointed out that our MY2020 with 29,711 miles on the odo was not covered under warranty for the sunroof shattering and that we would have to deal with our insurance company. They also informed us that they would not have any rental cars available during a repair until at least December. We mentioned that there was signs on the internet of class-actions against Mercedes for similar sunglass explosions to which they quickly responded with - not on MY20 300 GLC. We did get the sunroof replaced through our insurance. Anecdotely, when we took it into the glass repair shop, they had just did another one, similar situation the week before. This could have been tragic. Glass shards could have been everywhere. The only reason the sunscreen was deployed was that we had our baby granddaughter in the car only 1 hour earlier. Otherwise, that screen would have been open and the glass would have rained down on everyone in the car.Read more

I previously brought my car in for a recall in 2014 for underbody corrosion and it was repaired; however, now there has been severe corrosion of the underbody, not just the components listed in the recall but nearly the whole underbody is severly rusted and corroded (see pictures below). My mother was driving my car in July 2024 when the rear subframe completely snapped near the control arm while
... she was driving. Luckily she did not get injured or hurt, but it could have been potentially fatal especially with this happening. I reported this to Hyundai Motor America and towed my car to the dealership. The dealership has submitted a goodwill request to cover the repairs of the recall not the other ones; however, I raised a potential oversight for the previous recall whereby the corrosion of other components not explicitly named in the campaign such as the sway bars and backing plates which could also directly impact the vehicle’s structural integrity and safety if corroded. The omission of ALL of the components that would be subject to corrosion in the recall campaign could have been an oversight and the recall should have covered all critical underbody components prone to corrosion, not just the ones explicitly listed in the recall. Other parts corrosion are a direct consequence of the same environmental factors that led to the corrosion of the subframe and control arms. Since these components are interconnected, and since Hyundai has acknowledged the issue with the crossmember corrosion through the recall, it stands to reason that the other components’ damage should also be addressed as part of the overall remedy. These additional parts would have been exposed to the same environmental factors (e.g., road salt, moisture) that caused the other components to corrode. Since Hyundai acknowledges that these environmental factors led to corrosion in the subframe and control arms, it stands that the other components would also be affected too.Read more
