I just learned from my Mechanic that the Frame Corrosion is bad. The frame was inspected by Vanderstyne (now West Herr) Toyota on 06/20/2020. It passed the Inspection at that time, so they did not do anything. But within 4.5 years and only a little more than 6,000 miles driving since then - this corrosion shows up. The coolant hose from the radiator is routed approximately 1/4 inch from the front exhaust header causing the bike to run extremely hot. The service manager at the Harley-Davidson dealership said they cannot reroute the hose until there is visual damage to the hose or a failure. “This is a safety issue and concern as well as an environmental issue” it will eventually lead to the hose blistering and bursting spilling coolant on the ground. What if I am in heavy city traffic, in the desert with no cell phone service or some place at night with no help, any of these scenarios put me in great danger. At the very least this defect should be added to the 5 year environmental warranty list of items to be corrected by the motor company. These shields are essential to safe operation of the vehicle, and it is a safety hazard to have exposed wiring and parts that will fail as a result. The fact that they make that part to protect the wiring and other parts is De Facto evidence that they are needed. 1) While driving at 35 MPH with cruise control on, upon approaching an intersection with a red traffic light on, pushing the brake did not affect the vehicle at all. After going through the red light (divided roadway at intersection) and making a fast-moving right turn, pressing the engine ON button had no effect. We were even denied the option of purchasing the OEM part ourselves at a lower cost and have Tesla fix it. Tesla insisted we bought the same part from them directly for more than double the price. This forced us to get the repair done at a third party. Now, we have received a recall notice for exact the same issue affecting other Tesla Model X vehicles. This further confirms our belief that this is a widespread problem that should have been addressed by Tesla. We contacted Tesla again, yet again they were dismissive stating that they cannot compensate for repairs done at a third party. We respectfully request that Tesla take full responsibility for this safety defect and compensate us for the costs incurred in repairing our vehicle. The vehicle was examined by the dealer and they confirmed that a component is fault and will need to be replaced. No warning lamps or additional symptoms were noticed prior to the sunroof malfunctioning. The vehicle only has 44,100 miles.
