I am writing to formally request a recall or resolution for a significant defect in my [2011, Toyota, Corolla] vehicle, which I purchased in 2011. Over time, the paint on my vehicle has begun peeling extensively, affecting not just the aesthetics but also potentially the resale value and durability of the car. This issue appears to be a widespread problem among vehicles of similar make and year,
... suggesting a potential manufacturing defect. Given the extent of the paint deterioration, I kindly request that Toyota Company acknowledge and address this issue through a recall or appropriate corrective measures. Vehicle Details: Make & Model: Toyota, Corolla Year: 2011 VIN: [XXX] Current Mileage: 80,000 Estimated I would appreciate a prompt response regarding my request. Please let me know the next steps in addressing this concern, including any available remedies Toyota may offer. You may contact me at [XXX] or [XXX] at your earliest convenience. Factory hard top developing cracks around the corner of the back window on the passenger side. Vehicle is still under the 3-year / 36,000 mile factory warranty. This is the first instance that I have experience with this type of cracking on the factory hard top, and appears to be a known issue to Ford Motor Company since they have issued a General Service Bulletin (23-7004) regarding this type of
... issue. I am in the process of having the vehicle inspect by local Ford dealership for warranty claim. As a consumer, I do have concern about the long term durability of the hard top or any factory replacements. There are numerous examples of owners that have had multiple hard top replacements under the factory, in some cases 3-4 hard top replacements, prior to exhausting the 3 -year /36,000 mile factory warranty. These cracking issues associated with this hard top can present at different points in the part lifetime; In some cases within a few hundred miles and in others, not until the vehicle has surpassed the factory warranty. Regardless of lifespan, which does appear to be much short than a consumer would expect, The greatest concern I have as a consumer is the potential for this part to suddenly and unexpectedly fail without warning, and potential risk that could have on the vehicles' occupants or other vehicles on the roadway. The inner core of these factory hard tops are made come a cardboard composite material; Ford has stated the cracks are generally cosmetic in nature, but myself, as well as numerous other owners, have concern that with time, if moisture penetrates the hairline cracks, the cardboard may cause unexpected deteriorate enhancing risk for part failure. This gives consumer a false sense of safety and security. Ford should be finding a long term solution to this issue instead of replacing factory hard tops replacements of the same kind that also fail. It is a matter of time before injury or death occurs due to Ford's lack of a long-term solution.Read more

The complaint is against Reading Truck Body, LLC regarding safety concerns left unresolved and property damage incurred because of the recall remedy work (NHTSA Campaign Number 18E-021) performed on my 2017 Silverado 3500HD Crew Cab service truck by Reading Truck Body, LLC. In May 2020, I was notified by Reading Truck Body, LLC of a safety recall specific to the aluminum service body on my truck.
... Following the initial remedy “patch” work done by the company, I was shocked to discover damages to the rear crossmember and compromising cracks in the welding of the body, as well as to the integrity and functionality of the wiring harnesses on my vehicle. Despite assurances that these damages would be addressed, I have been met with delays, unresponsiveness, and ultimately a subpar replacement body that does not meet the quality and craftsmanship of the original. The replacement body not only fails to match the size and finish of the original, but also poses serious safety risks due to missing bolts, faulty wiring harnesses, and overall poor construction. Despite my repeated attempts to seek resolution through the company’s Recall and Warranty departments, I have been met with dismissive treatment, unfounded accusations, and a refusal to address the issues at hand. This has not only caused financial loss and property damage but has also taken a toll on my emotional well-being and business operations. As a concerned customer, I am requesting your support to hold Reading Truck Body, LLC accountable for their actions in this complaint and fully remedy the recall. To do so, I request they replace the service body with one of equal quality, size, and finish as my original. Proper powder coating and meticulous craftsmanship are essential to restoring the value and integrity of my vehicle. I urge you to help rectify these issues promptly and help me ensure Reading Truck Body, LLC addresses the safety concerns outlined in my complaint. Supporting documentation attachedRead more

My parking gage engaged several times while parked I saw that it said the parking breaking was engaged but I had not put it on. Next it engaged when stopped for a traffic light. I was able to restart it several times. Noticed that this was most likely to happen after a rainfall. Last time it happened my son was able to trick it into disengaging and get it home. Next day it had to be flatbed

After careful investigation he found over two gallons of water under the spare tire where the parking break module is housed. It had to be replaced as well as both calipers. This complaint is to document severe frame damage due to corrosion my 2000 Toyota Tundra. The rusted frames of the 2000-2003 Tundra’s are a well-documented problem that the Toyota Corporation has tried, unsuccessfully, to remedy in the past but continues to be a safety hazard to passengers and other innocent people when the frame finally fails. Some owners have been fortunate enough to have the
... ir frame replaced while others, like myself, have been told there is nothing available to remedy the problem. As seen in the attached pictures, I have significant corrosion along the frame walls where two pieces of steel were sandwiched together to reinforce the frame from where the gas tank is located to the rise where the bed attaches. These areas are crucial as the cross members of the frame attach to one another to form a solid body. Failure of this area would cause the truck cab to separate from the bed in the event of a crash, or even a deep pothole. It would also likely drop the gas tank out of the frame and impact the pavement with disastrous consequences for anyone around. I have reached out to my local Toyota dealer who stated “your vehicle is part of a class-action lawsuit and we cannot do anything without the Toyota Corporation’s approval.” They gave me the phone number of Toyota Customer Relations who kept repeating to me that “the truck is out of warranty and are no recalls available for my VIN number”. I have researched my VIN [XXX] ) and it does indeed appear to be included in a frame replacement program. When pressed about the inclusion of my truck in the program, they once again reference the warranty expiration and VIN exclusion. There were an estimated 110,000 trucks impacted by the faulty metallurgy process of the frames and Toyota was awarded a settlement from the Dana Corporation that manufactured the frames but not all owners have been recipients of the award. Please advise. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

The 12-volt battery for the vehicle was depleted, so the vehicle had to be jump-started to run. I work for a repair facility (it was here for collision repairs, as far as I know unrelated to this issue) and since I was unfamiliar with the vehicle, I inadvertently turned it off before shifting into park. When I took my foot off the brake, the vehicle began to roll forward. I am not sure if the ve
... hicle was in park, neutral, or even reverse (the gear I was in when I turned the vehicle off), but whatever gear it was, the vehicle kept rolling after it was turned off. I tried turning the vehicle back on to shift to park, but was unable to do so due to the depleted 12-volt battery. I tried hitting the park button anyway, and this did nothing. I then tried to engage the electronic parking brake, but this was also inoperative due to the lack of power. With each attempt, I tried briefly taking my foot off the brake, but each time it continued to roll forward. I then called my manager and asked him to jump start the vehicle so I could put it in park and engage the parking brake. No damage was done in this incident, nor was anyone hurt, but this lack of fail-safes to prevent the vehicle from moving after a loss of power is a significant design flaw and safety hazard. If I had not noticed the issue in time and gotten out, the vehicle could have rolled away and caused property damage or bodily injury to me or a bystander. To my knowledge, this is the only such incident with this vehicle, and I do not know whether it is specific to this particular vehicle or replicable in others of the same year make and model. We were driving through a mountain range and the trailer brakes went out on Trailer. Had to us exhaust brake to slow trailer down and stop. We could have crashed putting my family of 4 at high risk as well as others on the road. This was an extremely scary trip with no trailer braking. Our inverter and battery switch caught fire during a camping trip 8/12/24. My family was put in harm's way with
... the possibility of the trailer going up in flames! Called Grand Design. They immediately made a ticket for a technician to come replace inverter and other wiring. Grand Design told us we were NOT to use our trailer until all fixed. Grand Design flew a technician out 8/20/24 to replace inverter. Technician held up the inverter to us, it was melted. He said this was completely Grand Design's fault. Also was told by technician to take trailer in for frame flex issues as well from recall by Grand Design. The frame flex was real. We had issues with our slides as well as the body looking crooked on the frame. The RV service center Grand Design sent us to found that there were ZERO lag bolts installed holding the body on the frame. The front corner of trailer was leaking due to the roof failing. Grand Design called for replacement of all cabinetry in front area as well as replace entire roof. This frame flex could have had detrimental outcomes due to the frame not being bolted down. All components that failed have been fixed by a certified rv service center. We have not used the trailer as we picked it up one week ago. We are nervous to use the trailer with all the issues we had. There was no warning to any of these failures.Read more

I went in to get my truck worked on & was told it was not safe. The frame is rusted and cracked. I did not receive a recall notification. Now, I have a broken truck and cannot afford to buy another vehicle or pay to repair this one. This is a safety hazard for the other people on the road and a death trap for the owners with vehicles that Toyota will not stand behind.
